Ericka's not as paranoid or overprotective as Drac. But she's actually the most dangerous and ruthless of the two when her mama bear instincts are roused. She's alot quicker to kill people for for her kids and FAR more determined. Given her way, she'll hunt those that hurt her family and friends to the ends of the Earth and make them REGRET crossing her or her family without even losing the smile on her face. She may not be a monster hunter anymore, but...those instincts are still there...

She would DEFINITELY be like Mama!Yor with ALL her kids. Her OWN, her stepdaughter, even Johnny and Dennis.

Bonus Eve, Ericka's hasty partner Sylveon (named after the girl robot from one of Ericka's favorite films, Wall-E,) because she'd be the EXACT same way. She may look cute and frilly and elegant. But like her owner, Ericka's shipscat and emotional support mon will gladly take down DRAGONS the size of Johnnyzilla for her friends.

And that's it, I've read all of Discworld. While I liked Unseen Academicals, the cracks are there, and I remember Snuff being pretty bad, so I was nervous about Raising Steam and The Shepherd's Crown.

And the same flaws are definitely there, people are monologuing a lot, the plot is going at breakneck speed (not all bad when Moist is an MC, to be fair) and there's a lack of nuance compared to the previous books.

But also I loved the enthusiasm. The world is changing and it's fun! It's good! People can be better if they decide to be! The Low Queen, because respect your mom! Tiffany is the new not-leader of the witches, she gets witchcraft and when to give chances!

All in all it feels like a good note to go out on.

The afterword about the unwritten books... *sigh* I'd have loved to see Maurice as a shipscat, but the unwritten book I'll miss, for the lack of a better word, is Moist vs. The Tax Office. What new trouble he'd get into, who'd try to kill him, what kind of hat gets bedazzled...

And, yes, cried like a baby over Granny Weatherwax. I don't care if it was indulgent, it was right that the entire world felt her go.

Holding the lizard in his bare hands to deliver it had left Jack feeling vaguely ruffled and unclean, but the grin that lit Charles’ face made up for the trouble. Save for the subtle warmth in those black eyes, Jack’s own expression barely changed: he affected the same nonchalance as ever, as if this was an everyday occurrence, like quartermasters regularly deposited lizards into their captains’ hands.

“Outhouse,” he said. “I don’t know what it was looking for in there, but I don’t imagine me taking a shit was one of those things-” He addressed the lizard directly, “--so my deepest apologies to you, sir or madam, for that ordeal.” Jack shifted his weight to one leg, leaning a shoulder against the wall. “Anyway, some of the unfortunate individuals in the line would no doubt have stomped it underfoot had they discovered it, so I thought it best to take advantage of the opportunity to deliver a thoughtful gift to the only man I know who actively enjoys having reptiles in his vicinity at any given time.”
