Okay but Shisui somehow ending up with Evie and Rick “definition of bi awakening” O’Connell and their ancient-magic related shenanigans would be GLORIOUS.
Honestly Anon this is such a fantastic crossover that my mind immediately ran in three (and a half) different directions:
One, Shisui (shout-out to those who have read The Red Istari) wakes in a desert and is found by Ardeth, who has little proof but some suspicion that Shisui isn't just some random lost tourist, but he and the tribes cohabit the desert together for a while so it's all good. When Rick escapes Hamunaptra the first time, he has vague memories of some guy saving him from death in the desert... And dumping him in prison. Imhotep is awakened, Ardeth & co attack and retreat, and Shisui comes looking for his own answers for the disruption, and Rick is very unhappy to remember the guy that both saved and imprisoned him. Evie likes his manners, despite herself, and they kinda circle each other warily before attraction/gravity wins out. Jonathan is both happy to have another warrior between him and death *and* suspicious of this random guy wandering in from the desert. Things get even more interesting when Imhotep seems to sense that Shisui isn't a normal human...! Shisui/Evie/Rick
Two, Archeology AU where Shisui is a smuggler (ha) who's been hired by the prison warden to ensure Rick's debt is paid. I imagine him smoking whilst leaning around in the background a lot, dancing very prettily with his blades against Ardeth & Co, and eventually letting his honorable streak win out.... Ardeth/Shisui, Ardeth saying something suggestive about a warriors bond and shisui responding with something cryptic about the value of defending treasures instead of looting them, suggesting that Shisui will stick around to help stop smuggling instead of participating
Three, a fix-it for the totally fucked up third movie in the franchise by making Naruto characters the mummies. Danzo is some evil gangster who wants to wake the ancient warlord Madara, who legend says could control men to his will with a thought. Itachi, the young heir to what remains of madara's descendants, is kidnapped so his blood can be used in a ritual to awaken Madara. Shisui, his older cousin, tries to go after him and, whilst trying to stop Danzo locate the 'sharingan eye' pendant that is in pride of place in the national museum and the center of the resurrection ritual, has the poor fortune to meet Alex, who has just returned from a dig in the mountains with the arrogance of success. Alex thinks Shisui is a burglar and gives chase, causing both of them to be assumed to be working together by the authorities and are now wanted. This causes Rick, Evie, and Johnathan to be notified of the events. Alex and Shisui are forced to team up during the wild car-chase after Danzo's goons, with Alex twigging on that there's a larger plot going on, but they're met with frustration when they crash their car, lose Danzo, and are forced to hide out together to avoid the police.... It turns out that Shisui used to track stolen artefacts for the museum but was fired from his job when danzo framed him and bought the police with his dirty money... With growing understanding and trust, the two set out to stop Danzo's plans and rescue Itachi, unaware of Alex's family on their heels...
There is also another option, for the third, for shisui to be Danzo's first resurrected victim, escaping captivity and begging Alex to help him (subverting the idea that all mummies are evil megalomaniacs) and it ends with Danzo's death accidentally making Shisui's revival permanent so Alex proposes volunteers to help shisui adjust to 20th century living!
God I love The Mummy
