- The lyrics for this chapter’s title is from “Never Love An Anchor” by The Crane Wives.

- “The next ten months moved at the speed of a dream.” - A call back to a line from Time is a Flat Circle, which itself is a reference to “Asteroid City”! Gotcha again!

- “They read ‘Flowers for Algernon’, ‘An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge’, and… some sort of Jane Austen novels.” - I wonder if those stories are thematically relevant to this chapter?

- “He had no idea what to do about his fur anyhow. It had never grown in that long and thick before, how was he supposed to know it would do that?” - It was growing properly because he was finally happy and healthy enough for it to do so!

- “She was tall. Well, at least taller than him. Damnit.” - Bela is 5’9”! She is on the shorter side for demons. Beej is just especially small, since he was malnourished.

- “Her roots were black, the rest of her hair cascaded down to her shoulders in similar curls to his own, colored with a gentle lavender hue.” - Bela’s resting hair color is purple instead of green like Beej!

- “She had an orange-jeweled nose ring.” - Bela and Deb have matching nose rings, since exchanging jewelry is how demons court each other!

- “Shades of a gentle maroon red flickered through Bela’s hair.” - Bela has different colors for her emotions than Beej does!

- “Most were “whales”, stolen away in malevolent Deals to forever be a supply for the demon they were tied to. Slowly withering away to nothing.” - this is inspired by “Doctor Sleep”, because I’m a huge Mike Flanagan fiend.

- “They were all strange, all lacked the innate ability to socially adapt that the other demons thrived off of.” - Autism can run in a family, and it sure does run in the Shoggoth family!

- “He didn’t know why she was upset, but he knew it was up to him to make it better. (Why else was he here?)” - Still partially believes his only purpose is to make others happy, or they wouldn’t want him around.

- “… she hesitated, still firmly grasping the bright green fleece blanket he’d summoned from his room around her shoulders.” - The same blanket Charles got Beej for his room!

- “ “I watched this movie last night, since I couldn’t fall asleep. It was..” their voice caught in their throat, and their breath hitched. Beetlejuice slowly rose from his chair, setting the ice pack on the counter. “… lotta.. big feelings about it, huh?” They rapidly nodded, wrapping their arms around themself. “I don’t… I can’t keep living the way I do.” ” - Ash watched “I Saw The TV Glow”, which is a horror movie about being trans. It gutted me the first time I saw it. Ash had a similar visceral reaction, and it made her rethink how she is living. It also informs a lot of this chapter’s theming, but it is not required viewing for this fic. It is very, very difficult to watch for neurodivergent queers.

- “The living need attention too, Ash. It’s okay.” - This line is partially taken from “Dead Girls” by Penelope Scott, which is a very important song on Ash’s playlist.

- “You feel like you’ll die if you stay there. Or… worse.” - An “I Saw The TV Glow” reference. There’s quite a few in here.

- “Thank you, Beetlejuice.” - the first time they’ve called him by his actual name!

- Anyone spot more Time is a Flat Circle parallels?

- “It was then that Beetlejuice got hit by his first car.” - This is mostly a joke about how I, the author, have been hit by 4 cars. I feel like Beej would be similarly unlucky.

- “… it’s like being a wolf dog.” - This is based on how I’ve explained what it was like to grow up in my household.

- “Memories washed away like chalk on the sidewalk.” - Another “I Saw The TV Glow” reference.

- “Adam and Barbara celebrated their birthdays, which landed a couple days apart from each other, by smelling wine and watching ‘Lord of the Rings’ together. Beetlejuice was invited to join them.” - Based on something Adam made Beej he would promise to do in an earlier chapter!

- “June was full of beautiful sunsets he watched with his family.” - This was, like the previous thing, also listed among the reasons Beej should keep “living” in a previous chapter.

- “At the end of the month, walking to school and the store with Lydia, Beetlejuice realized with horror that Lydia was taller than him. Like, at least half a foot taller.” - Lydia is 5’7” now, he’s just being dramatic.

- “(How could no one see it? He felt so happy, but still he felt pieces of him slowly dying and rotting away. How could no one see that he was rotten? That he was dying?)” - This is partially another “I Saw The TV Glow” reference, and a reference to the ending of the song “you smell of dead flowers” by vslush and cliesel

- “August came like a thief in the night.” - A callback to Time is a Flat Circle! Which is itself an Edgar Allen Poe reference.

- “… they say old man Hirsch signed up for it right before he went missing.” - Yes he is named after Alex Hirsch, creator of “Gravity Falls”. Love ya Alex!

- “ “I managed to talk him down from another viewing of ‘Pride and Prejudice’!” (Another? What was that? They’d seen it before?)” - This is meant to alert the reader that something is very wrong, as “Pride and Prejudice” was brought up before by Beetlejuice himself.

- “Beetlejuice scratched at their left arm. The scars had started to fade.” - He was resorting to self-regulating self harm less enough that his arm was healing before this point.

- “I… I couldn’t.. I didn’t have enough energy to resist the Seal w-.. without a cult.” - Beetlejuice was tricking people to sign up for his cult under the guise of a “Loyalty Program”.

- “Why have they been going missing, then?” … “They swore they were choking on the taste of blood, bile rising in their throat as they felt their flesh between their teeth.” - Beetlejuice ate a few members of his cult. That’s why there’s missing persons in the town.

- “Someone’s hand gripped the back of their shirt, trying to pull them out of the kitchen. Panic spiked within them. Beetlejuice felt the blow to the back of their head, the horrible stabbing agony in their chest. That familiar, terrifying sensation they’d felt over and over and over and- ”- Beetlejuice had flashbacks to being killed during the loop over and over because Charles touched his old wound and it scared him, hence why he lashed out.

- “There’s still time. There has to be.” - Yet another “I Saw The TV Glow” reference.

- “ “Hello, pet.” Time’s up.” - Meant to envoke a terrifying line in “Yo, Girl” from Heathers the musical.

- “I’ll make you wish you could die!” - This line was originally going to be a more blatant reference to a line that Circus Baby from the FNAF series says often, “You won’t die, but you’ll wish you could.”

- “You always bounce ba- ” - Meant to be a reference to this scene from “Adventure Time” which I’ve… never seen…

- “Beetlejuice was distantly aware that Cyrus brought his claws up to his mouth to lick some of the blood off of them. “Choke on it,” they sputtered, although they weren’t sure if Cyrus could understand them through all of the blood that bubbled out of their mouth.” - Meant to be a reference to the horrific death of Captain Rhodes from “Day of the Dead”!

- “Beetlejuice wheezed out a last croak as Cyrus once again gripped their hoof and continued dragging them towards the portal.” - This is meant to evoke the gut-wrenching opening scene of “Scream”. Specifically, the part where Ghostface is dragging Casey away, and she is wheezing out her last breaths, which her parents can hear over the phone. The music in that scene never fails to make me cry. (I cried my eyes out rewatching that scene and imagining it playing when the Maitlands see the basement, but that’s not how things will happen…)

- “I’m sorry I was the one you loved.” - From “I’m Your Man” by Mitski.

Beetlejuice ~Corpse Bride AU~

In this AU, Lydia takes the role of Victor, Beetlejuice is Emily, Elder Gudnekt could be Otto, Adam and Barbara would be the Everglot couple (of course, here, they have no bad intentions).

Lydia and her father, Charles, come from the great city of London, to expand their funeral services franchise, in addition to having gone through another marriage.

Charles had Lydia's mother, Emily, who passed away when she was 8 years old. At work, Charles met Delia, who was suffering from a fatal illness, but never told Charles that she was sick. So 4 years after their wedding, Delia also passed away.

To forget his grief, Charles became obsessed with his work and abandoned Lydia in their grief (as she also got along well with her). Lydia doesn't want to get married and hates the idea of being trapped forever in a useless marriage, which will only take away her freedom. Although she thinks that marriage is just a contract, deep inside her, she really feels that if she falls in love, it will only bring her pain and sorrow, just like her father.

Beetlejuice, here called Lawrence Shaggoth, is the only son of the honorable aristocratic marriage Shaggoth. In his youth Lawrence had a preference for men, but despite that, Adam was one of his friends. But when the time came for Lawrence to marry a young woman that his own mother raised so that Lawrence would "become normal." Juno is a homophobic bitch, so after receiving the news that her son was eloping with his lover, she decided to take matters into her own hands.

Juno bribed Lawrence's lover, who really only wanted the young man's money. Juno told the boy that she would pay him whatever he wanted, if he took Lawrence, destroyed him emotionally and murdered him. The boy did so, but the young woman Juno had "adopted", Angeline (Miss Argentina) had witnessed the whole sinister plan.

Juno learned that once Lawrence married, she would inherit everything as stipulated in his father's will. So, to continue with the lie, Juno took a young prostitute to "convince" Lawrence to escape and leave everything behind and thus demarcate him from the surname Shaggoth, since in her eyes, Lawrence was unworthy of such a title. But it turned out that she found out about her affair with a boy, and apparently he was cheating on him.

Lawrence, about to die and feeling betrayed and very scared, recites a poem to calm himself, but he does not know that this poem would be his condemnation and his salvation. Once the conditions stipulated in the poem were met, it would come back to life.

That's why Lawrence needs Lydia to marry him, because then he will come back to life, but he doesn't really have the idea of really falling in love with that "someone" to help him.

Here Adam and Barbara are also aristocrats, but their family name is in decline and they are on the verge of poverty. They decide to adopt Adam's youngest nephew, named Vincent, to prepare him for a marriage with which they can cope with the imminent poverty that awaits their family. They believe it would be best if Vincent chooses his future wife, and he chooses Lydia to marry and she is forced to do so by her father.

Lydia runs away from the engagement after finishing the wedding rehearsal and, as if to mock her father, she says: "I'd rather marry a dead person than someone who doesn't know me!"

It is then that Lawrence appears and proposes to marry him and when he comes back to life, he will help her escape the country and her father.

But neither of them really expected to fall in love with each other when they got to know each other in depth.

But there is the problem of Juno, who no longer has money and it is then that she uses Lydia's disappearance to extort money from Charles and promise him that she will look for the young woman.

And after thinking about all that... That's when I started drawing

This is Lawrence, moments before his death. When his lover asked him to elope with some of the wealth, Lawrence dressed in his white wedding suit, but it was dyed red when a shotgun bullet pierced his ribs. (yes in the same place where Lydia stabbed him in the musical, both wounds were caused by a stab wound in the back... A betrayal)

Well... I had many songs to play... But in essence that is the basis of everything.

This AU really works with any version of Beetlejuice, but mostly works best with the Headcanons of the musical.

au where everything is the same but beetlejuce doesnt look human. at all

I wish I was any good at designing like, buildings or vehicles and interiors of places, because all I got right now is that Beej's boat is just sort of a general pirate ship but it's massive. It also seems to grow bigger sometimes, and the wood floors and outer walls are different colors in a stripe pattern.

Its also called the Big Sandy, so you can guess what's up there. Floor plans and drawings of things like that don't make sense to me, I can't visualize whats going on there, even if the drawing is labeled clearly.

I'm good at character design and backstory though, which is nice. I can just let the readers imagine what the ship looks like themselves, aside from any important descriptions of spots on the ship anyway.

So we have one musical with characters of Lovecraft Mythos and based on another musical about Eastern European Jewish diaspora. And you know what? I gonna freaking do this AU again!

Seriously, we have a scholarly character who legit experiences gender dysphoria? Sure! Asenath, it's your turn. We have a guy who has to hide some extremely questionable shit about his brother? Of course! We all know Wilbur.

So casting Asenath and Wilbur Whateley as Yentl and Avigdor? Right! And as it was already established in "Shoggoth on the roof" (Fan canon is still canon) Professor Armitage has three daughters. One of them as Hadassah? Definitely!

Also maybe switch setting to circa 1850s(?) ? Just for Asenath not to have any other choice on how to get to Miskatonic. Or maybe stay in 1920s where women are allowed into universities, but Asenath does this just because.

Boom! Now we have it! Yentl!Lovecraft Mythos AU? Big Freaking YES!!!

Day 4 of Radiohusk week: AU

Human Alastor and Husk in HBO’s Lovecraft Country. I LOVED that show (until the ending). Alastor’s family has some magical blood in him and Husk gets bitten by the Shoggoth, but he can turn back to human because… his blood is special? Idk, because he’s my special boy- that’s really it.

The first chapter of Lonely Remnants, the fic about my CorpseJuice AU, is up! It’s called “Your body may be gone, I'm gonna carry you in, In my head, in my heart, in my soul”.

CorpseJuice is an AU where Lydia’s mother dies in a car accident, and her adopted brother, Lawrence, goes missing and is presumed dead. A year later, she stumbles upon a demon puppeteering his corpse! She and the demon work together to find out what happened the night of the wreck, and who her brother really was.

Please read the warnings attached to the start of the chapter before continuing, this fic is a doozy!

Here are the extras for chapter one!

- The lyrics for this first chapter are from “Ocean Breathes Salty” by Modest Mouse! It is very literal for Lydia and her lost family members. I wonder if it’ll come back later?

- “Lawrence Graham” - Since his last name can’t be Shoggoth, I decided to pick a last name that has relevance to the plot! But I can’t tell you what sort of relevance yet. Because spoilers.

- “He could look at someone and know in an instant just what to do to scare the absolute shit out of them.” - This is a sort of joking reference to Beetlejuice’s line in “That Beautiful Sound”, about “clean white shorts turning brown”!

- “Talking Heads and MCR” - I listen to one of these. The other my best friend listens to and says he thinks Beetlejuice would be really into.

- “the ‘TinyTimes Hardware store’” - Thank you @jessicawesker83 for this whimsical suggestion. I love it!

- “Barbara Butterfield” - thank you @bjfinn and @ten-chocolate-sundaes for helping me figure out a good maiden name for Barbara!

- “Lydia remembered her mother cheering for Lawrence when he’d finally asked them to “hang out” with him, seeing some sort of cheesy horror comedy flick with them.” - IT’S MY FIC AND I GET TO PICK THE ANACHRONISTIC MOVIE THEY SEE IN THEATERS!! They saw “Tucker & Dale vs. Evil” because I said so

- “One moment, Lydia and her mother were laughing and singing along to ‘Jump in the line’ by Harry Belafonte.” - This is, of course, a reference to the line in the musical where Lydia says that this was one of Emily’s favorite songs.

- “Only a portion of his left arm, and six liters of his blood were found in his stupid, beat-up old green 2001 Volkswagen Beetle.” - the most blood a human can lose and still survive two liters. Also, get it? A Volkswagen Beetle? A green buggy?

- “Charles refused to pay for a cemetery plot, and certainly not one next to Emily.” - What an ass! I wonder why this is.

- “Jumping off the old bridge at the edge of town, into frigid waters, letting them carry her to wherever her home was now.” - This is a reference to Barbara and Adam’s death, and how Lydia planned to kill herself in the original film. It is also a reference to how she often called her mom “home” in the musical.

- “They sat huddled together and watched his favorite movies. ‘Zombieland’, ‘Groundhog Day’, ‘The Mask’.” - Haha, “Zombieland”. ‘Cause he’s a zombie now. Also yeah “Groundhog Day” is a sort of reference to LoopJuice, sue me. Notice how Lawrence only really likes comedies! He was actually pretty squeamish with blood and gore that wasn’t for the haunted house.

- “Barbara and Adam helped Lydia find a counselor that same day. Her name was Kerry, and although she was resistant at first, she’d helped Lydia tremendously.” - The name ‘Kerry’ is, of course, a reference to Barbara’s actor in the musical, Kerry Butler! I just think she’d have such a calming presence, and that she’d listen to you so well.

- “They both wore a necklace each; a simple chain with a ring attached. They got them shortly after the accident. Lydia had never gotten a good look at them, but she could take a guess as to what they were. (In June, she got her hands on the police report. A box with identical engagement rings had been found in Lawrence’s glovebox, and were handed off to “next of kin”.) Barbara and Adam never took the necklaces off.” - Ouchie. Are we connecting the dots here? Because I don’t like the image they’re makin’.

- Bellflowers mean everlasting love, forget-me-nots are pretty self explanatory. Also, bellflowers are purple! Lawrence loved purple and green.

- Sunflowers obviously represent happiness, which is a little ironic, but Lydia chose them more because they were her mother’s favorite.

- “A dirty, stained, shredded grey trench coat, the arms caked in dark splotches she could only hope was just mud. (They were black and russet brown, so probably not.) The left sleeve of his trench coat was tied off, most of that arm obviously missing. His hair was wild, stained green from what seemed to be moss growing on what little she could see of his face, as well as on his clothing and down his neck. A… somewhat familiar red button-up underneath, patterned with beetles, and tattered black slacks- ” - Yeah, he is dressed like Beetlejuice’s cemetery appearance in the movie! But he is not a KeatonJuice. The button-up and pants were what Lawrence was wearing when the crash happened, and the trench coat… let’s say the demon stole it.

- “C’mon, Scarecrow, don’t be so glum. I’ll be back before you know it.” - This was the last thing Lawrence ever said to Lydia before leaving for his “family emergency”.

- “Lars!” - Lydia’s own nickname for Lawrence.

- “Like he’d gargled a bowl of nails every day for the past century without any milk.” - Sorry not sorry for the SpongeBob reference.

- “His skin was a sickly sort of green, with moss patches growing on his face, and various sickly bruises dotting all of his visible skin.” … “His movements were stiff and robotic..” - Sorry, I studied forensic science for a few years, so there is a lot of gross dead body stuff in this fic that I will do my best to tone down. The “bruising” is livor mortis, or discoloration of the skin after death. The weird, stiff movements is from the demon being a freak as well as rigor mortis, or the stiffening of the joints/limbs after death.

- “Number 88, to be specific. We’re part of a big collective, see? A big ol’… mishmash of primordial goop.” - The demon’s true form is goo. The black stains on Lawrence’s face is it leaking out. This Beetlejuice is more Lovecraft than Dante’s Inferno. Also, #88 is a reference to the year the original film came out!

- “Let me take the driver’s seat!” - This is a reference to the song Alex Brightman sings in “Dead End: Paranormal Park” as his characters Pugsley and Temeluchus. The similarities were an accident.

- “Shuddering twitches wracked through it’s body, moving up from it’s legs, to it’s torso, to it’s shoulders, then it’s head, but it didn’t seem to care.” - The twitches and shakes are from both the demon being a weirdo (and AuDHD but we don’t have time to unpack that) and from algor mortis, or the body cooling after death.

- “Whatever-the-fuck. The.. it’s a chemical only found in brains. Gotta eat it or risk total rejection from the host.” - Yeah I kinda stole the idea from “Venom”. Yes there will be more things I stole from “Venom”. Let a creature (me) have fun and borrow things from their favorite rom-com!

"Driver's Seat AU"

What would have happened if Lydia had been slow to murder Beetlejuice?

(based on the plot of the musical)

In this AU, the marriage between Lydia and Beetlejuice causes him to become an ordinary human, as he has given up his immortality to marry Lydia, causing him to expel his demonic powers.

Lawrence coughs very violently and expels a mass of black tar, which splits in two and becomes wedding rings for both of them. But when Lawrence falls unconscious, he is taken to the guest room, where unfortunately, he will spend 5 years in a coma. Lydia feels quite sad for him, so she never missed a single day of those 5 years, to greet him to say good morning and talk to him to accompany him. (Both Lydia and Lawrence cannot take off the ring, because it is intrinsically linked to their soul)

But when Lydia is in College and returns home for Christmas break, she learns that Lawrence has woken up from the coma. When Lydia arrives, she surprises him playing the piano with envious mastery.

But when he looks at her, he seems absolutely surprised but seems to know her from somewhere. As the two get a little more familiar, Lydia realizes that Beetlejuice seems to be much kinder, sweeter, polite, respectful and even tender. It seems that when he became human, all of his disgusting attitudes left along with the demonic part of him.

It turns out that Lawrence has asked everyone in the house to call him that and after a while, Adam and Barbara suspect that all his memories and behaviors of Beetlejuice are gone, he is just a version without the desperate loneliness and misery that Bj was sunk in. Lawrence is a wise and empathetic young man, since there were small memories of everything he learned from living with the recently deceased people.

But, once Lawrence feels comfortable, he confesses to Lydia that he has only seen her in his dreams and was wondering when they could met.

But Lawrence is surprised to learn that they are actually married.

And yes, I based the human version of Beetlejuice on Alex Brightman... I still hate myself for that... But drawing Alex is quite challenging, since he is the first real person on whom I base my own design.

"Umm I remember seeing you in my dreams... Isn't it weird??"

"Wait... We are married?!?"

But there's something else... Within Lawrence's mind, Beetlejuice continues to exist as a second personality and manifests only to make Lawrence feel helpless and let him take control over his body again.

So, Beetlejuice, using Lawrence's romantic interest in Lydia, threatens him...

"What did you do to her, you monster?!

"Well... All I will say is that she didn't marry us exactly for "love"... "

Beetlejuice really wants to be back in control of his body, so they both face off in one song and yes..... It's as if Beetlejuice and Dewey Finn are facing off in a fight for control of his body.

Juno found out that Beetlejuice managed to become human, it is then that she seeks him out to return him to the Netherworld and that means that Lydia is in imminent danger.

After the song, Lawrence agrees to let Beetlejuice take control of his body, as he has complete control of his powers and so they can both defend Lydia from Juno.

I know this is probably a dumb question but I've been struggling with motivation and wanted to ask you this, what motivates you to continue working on the lore of your aus and universes and even draw them as well?

*thinking* I don't know how useful would be for you what I want to say... I can only explain how I, Kriim work. But I'll try, kk? :) Sorry for the wall of text... :')

So, for me, two things drive me. One -to the lore part of your question,- is my partner, and role-playing with him, because from this will be most of the work I share. It helps a lot that we have common interests and can give each other ideas, like from a book we've recently read. I'm currently reading Asimov's books and I love Lovecraft, so I often try to find connections or just imagine. (For example, the Blob completely resembles a shoggoth appearance for me. That's good! Okay, and if I treat the Blob as a shoggoth, how can I give it an even more absurd personality? How can I create a new perspective?)

I often make characters in a crossover-like manner, trying not to violate their basic principles. It remains the same, but I try to make not only the character but also the atmosphere they carry more interesting. Many times, I sit or stand in silence at home for hours, thinking about how to incorporate these into the story. I never write it down because it's mentally exhausting for me. Instead, I mentally play an animation over and over again until it makes emotions for me. When I've planned out a longer section, we sit down to discuss what would be realistic, what needs to be discarded, and I write down the guidelines for where the role-play needs to go. So, let's say I have four months of screenshots on my phone. What comes next? The whole Daily Daycare is from screenshots on my phone, I'm not kidding.

I draw faster than I write fanfic. I am more instinctive about what colors, shapes, perspectives, and angles I want to use for the scene than to describe the same thing in a few lines. And that's why I have the second motivation, which I'm not so proud of, but it's often useful. My ego. I'm Roxanne Wolf lol

I motivate myself when drawing, rarely leave any work unfinished because I compete with myself. If I'm unhappy with any artpiece, then I work on it until it's acceptable. Simply because if it's not perfect for me, it hurts my pride and I feel ashamed. I look at it and say, well, this is shit… pull yourself together, start over because the idea is good, you're just not in rhythm. To get in rhythm, I use references from previous works of mine, or other creators' details.

like color schemes, shapes, a certain angle that I don't understand but I know they do, and I keep doing it until "theirs" becomes "mine." These are needed to make the soup come together more easily and to have a little sense of accomplishment to move on to the next phase. I'm 90% satisfied at the end.

- Small Overview -

Lawrence is a history of music teacher / professor who’s currently trying to find something he’s more passionate about ( he loves music but he thinks his students are a bore ) while living with his room mates the Maitlands who support him with his creative decisions. He pays rent and helps around the house so they help him when they can.

He can get into funks at times. Mostly hanging with friends who is mainly just Lydia who is the daughter of their neighbor. She enjoys bothering him but they ended up becoming friends instead.

He can be kinda bratty and whiney, but at least it’s easy to tell his mood right?

Headcanons

This is where the tw’s come in

• Lawrence teaches mainly the guitar but he does know how to play piano and drums. He usually keeps that to himself though, mainly because it’s usually classical and he likes to not be seen as a nerd despite being a music history professor.

• During his teens and college years he was in a really bad crowd. That crowd led to him trying coke and messing with some other substances, experimenting a lot to get inspiration here and there. He mainly smokes pot now but if he’s ever in that depressed lonely pit again he might end up relapsing and taking again. He can also be easily influenced if no one keeps an eye on him. The Maitlands are the main reason he’s clean now.

• Depression came during college before he met Barbara and Adam. He did a lot of binge eating, he eats when he’s sad. So he’s not incredibly confident because he saw that who would want him at such a low. But when Adam and Barbara practically scooped him up and took him into their home. Lawrence and Adam met in his last year college who then introduced him to his wife Barbara. He owes it to them with how they motivated him and took him in since he ended up part of the family so easily. Hes slowly gaining confidence over his looks again. So he’s trying with help.

• Lawrence gets the nickname Beetlejuice in High school considering his middle name is Betelgeuse and well the movie / cartoon as well. He didn’t mind it so most call him Bj or Law, or Beej.

• He still has an awful relationship with his mother which of course led him to that bad crowd. He completely cut her off after moving to NY with the Maitlands. He never knew his father as his mother raised him on her own mainly. He doesn’t talk to any of his family anymore though. He stays with his now found family. Mainly because he sees Lydia as his daughter. Taking her under his wing when he met her outside their apartment building. So he’s very overprotective of her. He’s also trying to be good for Lydia as well. She needs him because who else is going to take care of and listen to that girl?

• Small hc bc I couldn’t make up my mind with whose eye color I want to use. So I’m giving Lawrence heterochromia, his right being Alex’s Brown/Green color and the left being Justin’s Blue 💙.
