There are many benefits of having custom made laundry cabinets in your home. Not only do they add extra storage space, but they can also help to organize your laundry room in a way that makes it more efficient. If you are considering installing custom cabinets in your laundry room, here are some of the benefits you can expect to enjoy.
1. Custom made laundry cabinets can provide more storage space for laundry-related items.
If you're like most people, you probably need to store a lot of laundry-related items. This can be difficult, especially if your home doesn't have much extra space. One solution is to install custom-made laundry cabinets. These cabinets can provide more storage space for detergents, fabric softeners, and laundry baskets. They can also help you to organize your laundry area more efficiently.
There are a few considerations you should make if installing custom laundry cabinets is something you're considering. First, you must measure the available space and ensure the cabinets fit. You'll also need to decide what type of cabinet you want. There are several styles and materials among which to pick.
Once you've decided on a style and material, you must decide on the desired features. For example, do you want a cabinet with a sink? Do you want one with a countertop? Do you want a cabinet that will hold a lot of laundry baskets? These are all questions you need to answer before shopping for cabinets.
Consider installing custom-made laundry cabinets if you want to add more storage space to your laundry area. They can give you more room to store laundry-related items and help organize your area more efficiently.
2. They can be designed to fit your laundry room's specific needs and space constraints.
Different laundry room designs can be used to fit your home's specific needs and space constraints. Whether you are looking for something that is efficient and maximizes space or something more decorative and inviting, there is sure to be a design that will work for you. The more popular designs include the peninsula, L, and U-shaped styles. Each design has unique benefits that can make your laundry experience more enjoyable.
3. They can add a touch of personal style to your laundry room.
Adding a personal style to your laundry room can make laundry more enjoyable. There are numerous approaches to doing this, so you can select one that complements your personality. For instance, while some people prefer bright, colourful décor, others favour a simpler style. There are numerous ways to tailor your laundry room to your preferences.
Choosing a theme is one way to add personality to your laundry room. You could opt for a beach theme with ocean-themed decor or a rustic theme with rustic accents, for instance. If you're unsure of your theme, get ideas from some magazines or online images.
Another way to add personality to your laundry room is by using accessories. For example, you can hang up a piece of art or put a plant in a corner. You can also add fun laundry-related accessories, such as a drying rack, a hamper, or a clothespin display.
Regardless of the approach you take, incorporating your own sense of style into your laundry room is a great way to make laundry more enjoyable.
4. They can be made from durable materials that can withstand the wear and tear of everyday use in the laundry.
There are many different laundry detergents available, but not all of them are the same. While some may not be as durable, others may be made from materials that can withstand the daily wear and tear of use in the laundry. Therefore, it is essential to research before purchasing a detergent to ensure you are getting the best product for your needs.

(I made this it's own post so it wouldn't get too long cause I know I'm gonna yap)
so there were a lot of ways I jumped in and just started doing shit, but I think the very first thing I did was make a first draft map of like, a general landmass (I actually based the initial landmass on the shape of Spain) and then I just started adding my own features and deciding climates and weather types and biospheres and created my primary landmass first (I went into it knowing I was designing one kingdom, not the whole world)
then once I had decided what the general shape would be, I was able to figure out the most likely places for major cities to be (one at the southernmost coast, one in the lagoon/bay, one deep in the forest high on a cliff easily defensible, one built into the mountains, one on the eastern shore, one in the middle by the giant lake, etc.
I think it was around then that I took a break from geography and created a pantheon of major gods and wrote a creation myth for the world. From there I had a few major historical events I knew I wanted, so I wrote down a very vague timeline.
at this point, I had enough places to start that I was able to pick a major city or location and I just wrote out a page of information. super basic stuff at first, name of the city, city leaders/nobles, notable features, notable shops, notable NPCs, and I would usually go ahead and create a number of threads for stories based in those locations and keep those in my DM Eyes Only document lmao
Then I kind of bounced around and did that and then I found some really good resources online for like, what do major civilizations need to have? and when I did a lore sheet for Castletown I wrote down a TON of information, cause it's a big city!! the biggest in Arcanum.
honestly from there I just kept bouncing around, never staying on one topic or location too heavily or for too long, and kind of followed a (chaotic) path led by my ADHD. Now at this point I have a map of the neighboring kingdom Ilshara, a custom calendar, it's own zodiac, a fuck load of minor gods and some gods from other realms, a bunch of fics for lore and worldbuilding, I even wrote a whole psionic system for d&d 5e that i never used lmao.
my biggest piece of advice as a GM is to follow the three layers rule. for any piece of lore you need three layers of Why to explain it. you can usually get away with less, but the more layers you can add, the more depth your world will have. so for example, why are these kobolds attacking travellers? well because they work for the dragon who's cave is nearby, and they need the gold because their dragon patron is sick and wealth is the only thing that helps them, and the dragon, well, it's sick because it's cursed by a witch that it slighted in the past, etc etc. that's what I did at least. most of my world isn't super well defined, and that's on purpose! I want to flavor it to fit the story I'm telling at that moment, and because I have sort of a natural understanding of the pattern of storytelling, I just sort of create without thinking too hard. so I like to give details to the major locations, and make everything else up as I go along (mostly)
lol this is so fun to talk about, thank you @valkyr-3 and if you (or anyone else really) are interested in seeing some of my lore documents, I do have them written in such a way that my players can access them anytime and probably find the information theyre seeking

What is the Sound Au about?
*cracks knuckles* I'm so glad you asked!!!! I've been waiting for an excuse to lore dump about my silly AU!!!
So the name of the AU comes from a kind of body of water. A sound is a body of water that goes inland but leads out into the greater ocean. One Piece Sound, OR, is the name of the town where the AU takes place. It's a modern One Piece AU where the straw hats all live in a tourist coastal town on the Western Coast of the United States. Since it's a pirate manga I thought a coast setting would be the most fitting. I live on the East Coast and grew up going to coastal towns a lot, and a lot of this AU has been inspired by me missing the beach. I considered placing it on the east coast cus we are the better coast (that's just facts the water is freezing over there), but I thought the atmosphere of the West Coast would fit better. They have big ass rocky cliffs over there, as well as big evergreen trees. The West Coast also has a larger Asian diaspora because they share an ocean with Asia. And so it would be easier to keep the Japanese roots of one piece.
The name of the town came from the myth of gold rogers' treasure! If you've ever been to a tourist town before, a lot of them have some kind of gimmick to try to get tourists to come in and visit. (see: Point Pleasant West Virginia with Mothman) And a legendary pirate hiding their treasure all in one piece along the coastline sounds exactly the kind of story you'd find in an American tourist town.
So that's all the setting stuff, the real meat and potatoes of the AU is really just: what if One Piece was a slice-of-life manga instead of a pirate manga. It's also a way of projecting my 20s ennui onto the straw hats. They're all 20-somethings who still live where they grew up and feel like they're just going through the motions of life.
Nami tried to go to college but had to drop out for financial reasons, and now works at a bait shop. Usopp is that one friend who's always bouncing from one job to the next to try to find something that fits. Sanji could have gone to college, but much like manga Sanji, he's committed himself to spending his life working as a chef at the Baratie. Zoro is a kendo instructor and is trying to pursue Kendo professionally. He works at the dojo he grew up going to and his boss is his teacher, Shimotsuki.
Luffy doesn’t have a job. It just doesn’t make sense to me that he would. He’s not clocking in anywhere. He doesn’t have a W2. He’s that dude on the board walk selling tie-dye t shirts out of his van. Luffy fully believe’s the one piece is real, and that he’ll find it and become king of the pirates. I think luffy could totally still be a menace to society in a modern AU. So he lives in his van with chopper (who is his dog.)
And this AU, isn’t just a modern AU. This also an a/b/o AU, and most of the plot stuff I want to do revolves around that.
Cus another reason I made this AU is that I really wanted to write an mpreg story with Zoro, but it didn’t make much sense to me to set it in canon. Like as an mpreg enjoyer I need to know when to take the L and realize when a character wouldn’t want to be pregnant. I feel like canon Zoro fits that description. He wants to become the world’s greats swordsman, he wouldn’t want to put his life oh hold for a child, not until he achieves his dream. And it feels wrong to do that to him. Also one piece is an adventure manga, and I want it to stay that way!!! The setting and the story doesn’t fit the kind of domestic soap opera story I want to make so hence the new setting.
Zoro is such an interesting character, and so much of his character is based around his strength and his masculinity. So him having to deal with a situation that puts him out of his depth, makes him vulnerable in a new way, and makes the people around him call into question his strength; is really the thing I want to dig into.
So the rough plot of the story is that Zoro and Sanji have been hooking up with each other in a “friends (enemies) with benefits” type situation. And due an unfortunate slip in their use of birth control (zoro forgot to take his pill the day he had sex with sanji without a condom) Zoro gets pregnant. The plot primarily is about Zoro and Sanji figuring out this new normal between them as they prepare to become parents together, and an agonizing slow burn as they go closer of the months. ZoSan is the focus, but I plan on the other straw hats to have plot focus as well. Idk what it’ll be yet, but know that I am thinking about the other straw hats and arcs for them.
Even with Zoro and Sanji I’m super interested on exploring them as individual characters, and how this will put pressure on their insecurities, just as much as I’m interested in them as a ship.
I’m also thinking about the social nature of the town as well. Because as a small tourist town, everyone knows everybody and everyone has an opinion. I’m going to try to fill out the town with with all one piece characters cus the cast is so huge, and create plot points based off of intertown dynamics. The straw hats already have a reputation in town because they hang out with Luffy and are seen as those no good kids who aren’t doing anything meaningful with their lives. That attitude gets worse when word travels that the Zoro Roronoa, state kendo champion, has found himself knocked up by a line cook.
The biggest like element I want to focus on is the way the straw hats are ride or die for each other. And how they’ll support each other no matter what. Like when there are people who expect you to be a certain way, or judge you for decisions, they’ll be there for one another. They’re each other’s safety net in a world that expects us to leave our neighbors out to dry.
This post was incredibly long, but yea!! That’s my One Piece Sound AU!!! Basically convoluted way for me to knock zoro up, have it make sense, and project my 20s struggle and trans feelings onto him. Thanks again for giving me an excuse to talk about it!! :D
The end goal is for this to one day be a web comic, which would most likely be posted onto AO3. But idk if I’m there yet with my art to make that kind of commitment, so for right now I just want to make some fan art for it, and some non plot comics (as well as some long form concept comics :3)

The Holiday Diaries - Day Three
Continuing for my darling friend @tismrot and hopefully being a bit more entertaining today.
Wow! It turns out that, whilst I’m in Norfolk, he’s in bloody Egypt! Paddling in the Nile. Deep in it. 🤦🏻‍♀️
So, while I’m mentally adding golden beads and bells to Nelly’s tabard (I’ve named The Elephant In The Room, she said it was ok), he’s completely ignorant. Nelly is obviously so magical only I can see her.
Meanwhile I’m also realising I’m still a hopeless romantic and touch starved who lives in a small town…and will probably still be exactly that in 12 months’ time…24 months’ time…48 months’ time etc etc etc. How the hell would I even meet anyone?
Anyway!
Magpies are finally flying around in pairs! It’s my only small superstition. I always recite the rhyme ‘one for sorrow, two for joy...’ when I see them. In fact, my ‘I finished trauma therapy’ tattoo is going to be based on this rhyme. Booked it last year (when I still had money), it’s in September. It’ll be a chest piece of two magpies with some treasure & some more macabre animal skulls. Currently managing to put away £10/month and secreting away the occasional extra bit. Will need a lot more by September as it won’t be cheap but trauma therapy was HELL and the tattoo commemorating it was something the therapist & I actually discussed at length. She encouraged it. Along with my writing. Seeing the magpie pairs today made me think about it.
Went to a massive charity shop today because he needed jeans. I’ve lost 30kg in the last year (not in a healthy way, I won’t share my method) and nothing fits anymore. Managed to pick up one black fem top and one grungy neutral top and a great pair of formal/suit trousers from the ‘mens’’ for super cheap.
Even more excitingly is a collection of Edgar Allan Poe stories

I checked the records for a copy of Everyday but all I found was this monstrosity *argh*
Tumblr media
We went to a cat cafe. It was lush. They had grumpy sphinx cats. Yes - Grumpy. Sphinx. Cats. And retro 80s & early 90s stuff like carebears, rainbow brite and mlp. And loads of old console games. It was mad and I loved it.
Then there was beaching. I REFUSED.
There is one beach in the UK that I like: Calgary Beach in Mull. Other than that, I do NOT like beaches. I can’t actually think of any beaches in other countries that I like. And I used to live in the tropics. And went down the Gold Coast (Australia) for a month on holiday as a teenager. So this is the closest I got to the beach today:

My feet did not touch the sand.
Did a mini rave when we got back. Which segued into a rock party.

I can’t listen to the normal radio. What’s with the country revival? What’s going on? Help!!!
Still can’t write. I still suck. Been researching for the proper book. But nothing I write is any good. What if I never am again?
I’m out at the entertainment again now. Can’t afford nice drinks, but never mind. Must be his paddle in denial using up the budget. @tismrot, dollface, hope my insane-yet-inane life amuses you 😂

Day Ten - Prompt: Rocks @rosekiller-microfic
March Daily Series - 618 words
<<<Previous Part OR Start Here
The outskirts of London were tinged with shadows by the time his Fiesta sputtered down the quiet streets. Barty muttered encouragement under his breath as he approached a Tesco petrol station. His promises to fill the tank and give its 4-stroke engine a rest seemed to work. As he coasted into the station, he breathed a sigh of relief.
“That’s it, princess. You’re always so good for me, aren’t you?” he whispered, stroking the dashboard. The car purred beneath his feet as it slowed to a stop beside a pump.
Barty parked the car and hopped out to stretch. A strained groan escaped as he twisted sharply to the left. His muscles ached from a solid four hours hunched over the steering wheel. Heather was pretty dependable, but she was a little cunt and he barely fit inside. Even when the seat was pushed all the way back, his legs were crowded into the dash.
He stripped off his shirt, tossed it in the backseat, and grabbed the last clean one from the duffel. After a full day on the road, Barty was sure he looked a bit shite. The least he could do is freshen up before he loped across the lot to pay the attendant. If he was lucky, they might have his favourite brand of cigarettes. He’d run out about an hour ago and was itching for smoke.
“H’lo! Welcome to Tesco!” a cheery voice greeted him as he walked in the door.
Barty saluted half-heartedly on his way to the counter. “You have Marlboro Golds?”
“I think so. How many do you want?”
“Three, if you have them.”
By the time he reached the other end of the shop, the perky blonde had three packs on the counter and was watching him curiously. She was cute, but far too cheerful. The smile plastered on her face appeared genuine and it creeped him out.
“How much?” he asked, digging his wallet out of his pocket.
“£46.30.”
“Add forty litres on pump two.”
As she rattled off the obscene total, Barty winced. He handed over the cash and picked up the Marlboros. She handed him a receipt and a handful of coins.
“Keep it,” he said, turning away.
“Are you sure?”
He nodded distractedly as he shoved his wallet back into his pocket. The last thing he needed was change weighing down his jeans. As it was, his belt was on its last hole and still struggled to hold them up over his flat arse. Evan used to love winding him up about it.
As he pushed the door open, she cleared her throat. “I’m off in an hour.”
Barty stopped short and glanced over his shoulder. Out of habit, he gave her a slow once-over and smirked. “Yeah? You’re gagging for it, are you? Need to get your rocks off?”
Her face flushed bright pink as she ducked her head. If he wasn’t on the verge of passing out, he may have considered giving her a go out of sheer spite. Unfortunately, Barty doubted he could convince his dick to cooperate with Evan’s cold, furious voice echoing in his mind.
We are nothing to each other. I don’t want anything to do with you, Crouch.
He shook his head and huffed at his own stupidity. “Next time, sweetheart. I’m knackered.”
Barty left before she could respond. It didn’t really matter what she said, he’d forget she existed the moment he slid into his car. Heather was the only woman in his life, at the moment. She was likely the only one who could tolerate him anyway. He patted the hood approvingly.
“Just a bit further, princess. You can take a little more, can’t you?”

Wyllweek Day One : Favorite Outfit
Words: 300
A linen shirt with rips at the hems and elbows, patched together with an inexperienced hand. Stains that, due to past mistakes in laundering, could no longer be washed out.  A pair of leather pants held together by laces that had been changed at least half a dozen times as the previous ones worn down with wear and age.
A simple outfit, some make even call it unsophisticated, and littered with evidence of past mistakes. but Wyll could not bring himself to throw it away, even after seven years of carrying it on the road. Despite the lack of excessive space in his pack during his travels, he could not bring himself to discard the threadbare garments.
Wyll Ravengard had known opulent attires. He had grown up in and surrounded by exorbitant clothing that cost more than the yearly wages of some who lived in the city that his father ruled over. He had been fitted for custom couture by an army of the best tailors along the Sword Coast and danced while wearing gloves of the finest lambskin and jewelry of polished gold and glittering gems. Finery was as much a part of the first seventeen years of his life as swordplay, as politics, as chivalry.
The clothing that had taken permanent residence at the bottom of his travel bag was crude, cheap, oafish. Purchased by a boy shopping for himself for the first time and touched with the salt of sweat and blood.
And yet.
To the common citizenry of the Sword Coast, to the underserved and the abused, to Wyll of Baldur’s Gate, still wandering the wilds, dozens of miles from his father and his home, the first outfit worn by the fledging Blade of Frontiers meant more than any extravagant silks and embellished brocade ever would.

Good Things Come in Threes: Chapter Seven
Tumblr media
Summary: Growing up on the East Coast her whole life, Summer Hastings always longed for more. The niece of Penny Benjamin would often fly out to the West Coast every summer to visit her aunt and cousin. Summer didn’t realize how much her life would change that night she called her aunt to book her plane ticket when she was 18 years old when a certain Jake Seresin answered the phone.

Summer woke up to an empty bed yet again. Her whole body ached, and she groaned as she sat up. She grabbed her phone to check the time; it was a quarter past eleven, and she quickly placed a delivery order at her favorite coffee shop a few streets over. Realizing she didn’t charge her phone last night, she absentmindedly stretched toward her bedside table to reach for her charger. Summer paused when she felt her hand hit something. She looked over, seeing a note addressed to her with a small velvet box weighing it down to the table.
Disregarding the note for now, she opened the gift. Inside was a thin gold band with a delicate diamond decorating the top. She plucked the ring from the box and placed it on her right index finger as she grinned. She then grabbed the note, carefully unfolding it.
Dear Summer,
This is the first letter I’ve ever written to someone that isn’t my parents, so don’t make fun of me.
His opening line had already made her laugh.
Anyway, we got our assignments today. When I got called back to Top Gun, I wanted to be the team leader for this mission. My plan immediately changed once I met you properly. I met you, and suddenly I didn’t have to be Hangman. I could just be Jake. I haven’t told you this (cut me some slack, it’s only been two weeks), but I’ve never felt as happy as I do with you. I feel like each time we met was at the perfect time. The first two times were a bust, but we’re here now. We’re here now, and I love you more than ever. As embarrassing as it is to write this and not be able to say it to your face, I just want you to know that knowing you has made me into a better person. Phoenix and I are actually friends, and it’s because of you. I don’t have to watch my back anymore because you helped me start letting people in. I’m so grateful for you, Summer. You have no idea. Now, onto the mushy stuff. Seeing as I know you so well, I’m sure you opened the present I left for you.
Summer sniffled as tears started to well in her eyes.
I’m sure my smart girl figured out what the ring is for, but I’ll tell you anyway, just in case. In an alternate universe where we didn’t get ripped apart by this stupid uranium mission, it’s an engagement ring.
Summer choked back a sob when she read that line.
It’s sized and everything. I got help from Nat. You don’t have to wear it if you don’t want to or don’t want to marry me. (we both know you do, put the ring on) I meant to give it to you a few years down the road, but I’ve been holding onto it for a while and figured I should give it to you now, just in case. Nat thinks I’m insane, but she gets it. I want you to have it just in case something happens. I bought it for you anyway, it would be unfair if I didn’t give it to you. If I do manage to come back to you (that’s the plan), you can give it back if you want to try again in a few years. On the slim chance that you want to hold onto it when I’m back, I wouldn’t be against being engaged to you. No pressure, though. I gotta go. I think you just woke up from your nap.
 I love you,
Jake.
Summer was a mess by the time she finished reading the letter. She tearfully moved the ring from her right pointer finger to her left ring finger and cried harder when it fit perfectly. Summer knew Jake loved her. That was a fact, but reading the words after last night hit her like a ton of bricks. She was young, newly twenty-five, but taking his last name to become Summer Seresin felt right. Come to think of it, most things felt right with her and Jake. A knock at the front door caused her to quickly shift focus to her coffee. She knocked into an unpacked box of stuffed animals as she walked out of her room. The box fell, and she rolled her eyes before heading downstairs, deciding to handle the mess after grabbing her order.
Two minutes later, she was back upstairs debating if she should unpack the plushes or just chuck them back in the box. She decided on the latter and picked up the almost empty box that felt heavy. Weird. Considering it was stuffed with the plushes. She looked inside, seeing the ‘broken’ radio her father was able to snatch from the communications room all those years ago. Summer knew it was wrong and a long shot, but she turned the radio on and was surprised to see it functioning. She quickly turned the dial to the station used at Top Gun, hoping there were still people listening to the ship over there. The radio was silent for a bit until the transmission cut in. The first thing that came through was the sound of flares, and Summer felt her stomach drop.
“Rooster, status?” Maverick asked.
“Oh my god,” Rooster said, ignoring Maverick.
“Smoke in the air! Smoke in the air!” Rooster yelled.
“Break right, Payback!” Fanboy yelled.
“Breaking right,” Payback said.
“Oh my god, here they come!” Fanboy yelled again.
“SAM on your six, Rooster!” Payback called out.
“Deploying countermeasures,” Rooster said before hitting the button to release flares.
“Negative contact.” He confirmed.
“Dagger one defending,” Maverick said.
“Talk to me, Bob!” Phoenix yelled.
“Break right, Phoenix! Break right! Mav! Nine o’clock, nine o’clock!” Bob yelled.
“Rooster, two more on your six,” Maverick said.
“Dagger two defending,” Rooster said as he released more flares.
“Payback, SAM on your nose,” Maverick said.
“Dagger four defending,” Payback said.
“Rooster, tally, seven o’clock!” Fanboy yelled.
“Talk to me, Bob!” Phoenix yelled.
“On our six!” Bob yelled.
“Dagger two defending,” Rooster said.
“Phoenix, break right!” Maverick yelled.
“I see it! I see it!” Phoenix yelled.
They all started talking over each other, and Summer sat frozen, hoping her friends would make it back home in one piece.
“Dagger two defending,” Rooster said, hitting the flares button again. “Shit, I’m out of flares!”
Summer’s blood ran cold. No, no, no.
“Rooster, evade, evade!” Maverick yelled.
“I can’t shake ‘em! They’re on me! They’re on me!” Rooster yelled.
“Mav!” Rooster yelled. “Mav! No!”
Summer’s stomach lurched. That’s not good.
“Dagger one is hit! I repeat dagger one is hit! Maverick is down.” Phoenix yelled.
“Dagger one, status. Status!” Rooster “Anyone see him? Does anyone see him?”
The group of aviators circled the perimeter looking for the plane.
“Dagger one, come in!” Rooster called.
“I didn’t see a parachute,” Payback said.
“We have to circle back,” Rooster said.
Don’t you fucking dare. Summer thought.
“Comanche. Bandits inbound. Single group, hot. Recommend dagger flow south.” A random voice she hadn’t heard before cut in. “One minute to intercept.”
“All daggers flow to ECP. You have bandits headed for you.” Another voice said.
“What about Maverick?” Rooster asked.
“Dagger spare request permission to launch and fly air cover.” Hangman’s voice crackled over the speaker.
Summer felt sick when she heard Jake’s voice crackle through the radiowaves. She nervously twisted the newly adorned ring while waiting for a response.
“Negative, spare.” The voice responded, and Summer felt relieved at that thought.
“Dagger, you are not to engage. Repeat, do not engage.” Someone new said.
“Dagger two, return to carrier. Acknowledge.” A comms officer said.
“Acknowledge.” They said again when Rooster didn’t answer.
At that moment, Summer decided if Bradley died, she would resurrect him just to kill him herself.
“Rooster, those bandits are closing. We can’t go back.” Phoenix lamented.
“Rooster, he’s gone. Maverick’s gone.” Bob said, sounding tired.
All hell broke loose when Rooster decided not to go back to base and made it his mission to find Maverick.
“Dagger two is hit. Dagger two is hit.” A comms officer said.
Summer sank into her spot, the tears welling in her eyes again.
“Dagger two, come in. Dagger two, do you copy?” The officer demanded.
“Dagger two, come in.” They said again when there was no response.
Summer was so busy crying that she almost didn’t hear the comms officers telling Hangman to stay grounded.
“Hangman, what the hell are you doing?” Phoenix asked him over the comms.
“Just watch after her if I don’t make it back, Phoenix. Let her know it’s okay to fall in love with someone else. Tell her I love her.” He said simply.
Summer got up and started to pace around her room. She decided to pretend that she was listening to a podcast. A weird podcast, but it helped calm her down a bit. She could trick herself into thinking everything was fine. She took this time to prepare for the day, even though it would probably consist of multiple breakdowns. Ten minutes later, she hears her boyfriend over the radio again.
“Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. This is your savior speaking. Please fasten your seat belts, return your tray tables to their locked and upright positions…and prepare for landing.” Summer heard her boyfriend’s cocky tone and laughed tearfully at his idiocy.
“Hey, Hangman, you look good.” Rooster’s voice surprised Summer.
Does that mean Mav’s still alive?
“I am good, Rooster. I’m very good. I’ll see you back on deck.” Her boyfriend boasted.
“Maverick is downwind. No front landing gear. No tail hook. Pull the cable and raise the barricade.” Maverick’s voice crackled through her radio, and Summer stopped what she was doing.
Everyone was safe. Everyone was coming home.
Summer squealed happily, rushing around her room to get dressed, and texted Penny that they needed to celebrate when she was back. Summer shut off her radio, carefully placing it back in the box, and the phone started to ring in her right hand.
“Phoenix-” Summer gets cut off by cheering in the background.
“We’re all here. We’re safe-Rooster! Hug!” The woman on Summer’s screen disappeared for a moment before coming back with a smile.
“Chalked yourself another kill.” Summer heard Rooster say.
Phoenix took this opportunity to flip her phone camera to show her friend her best friend and boyfriend.
“That makes two,” Hangman answered gruffly.
“Mav has five. Makes him an ace.” Phoenix replied, and Summer smiled at her screen.
Rooster and Hangman smile at each other before Hangman goes to hug Phoenix.
“Your boyfriend smells.” Phoenix directed to Summer, flipping the camera back to herself.
“Hey, Summer!” Rooster yelled once he realized Phoenix was mid-call.
“Nat, let me talk to B for a second.” Summer said.
Phoenix handed her phone over to the man, and Summer smiled sweetly.
“Bradley Bradshaw, I’m gonna fucking kill you when you get home.” She said.
“What did I do?” He asked, dumbfounded.
“You know what you did!” She shrieked.
“How do you know what I did?” Rooster challenged.
Summer went quiet, tucking some hair behind her ear with her left hand.
“No fucking way. You still have the radio?” He grinned.
“I will neither confirm nor deny that,” Summer answered.
Rooster stared off into the distance before turning back to the small screen.
“I think someone wants to talk to you. I’ll see you in a few hours.” He said before handing the phone over.
“Hey,” Hangman grinned at the girl. His girl.
“Hey,” She returned the grin.
“You get the gift I left for you?” He asked.
“I did,” She nodded. “Very classy. Are you trying to beat my parents out for fastest proposal?”
“You made sure to actually read the note, right? I said I’d take it back if you want me to.” He teased.
“Now, why would I give it back if it looks so pretty when I wear it?” She asked as she showed him her hand.
“You sure you’re ready for this?” He asked her to confirm.
“I think I can handle this. My fiancé’s a naval aviator.” Summer shrugged.
Hangman’s laugh was immediately followed by a groan when a notification popped up on Phoenix’s screen.
“I gotta go, sweetheart. Phoenix’s phone is dying. I’ll see you in a few hours, okay? I love you.” He said.
“I love you too, Bagman.” Summer laughed before hanging up.
Six hours later, Summer walked into the Hard Deck after entirely unpacking her room. She texted her friends to meet her there once Nat told her they were back in California. Summer brewed some coffee while she waited for the group; she knew they’d be tired. Maverick was the first one to come in.
“Summer,” He smiled, and she ran over to hug him.
“Hey, Mav.” She laughed lightly.
“Where’s Penny?” He asked the young woman.
“She took Ames on a sailing trip. I don’t know when they’re coming back.” She said.
“Why didn’t you go?” He asked as he pulled away from her.
“Boats already make me nauseous. I didn’t wanna add to my anxiety.” She said.
Maverick nodded in response.
“Looks like it’ll be just us for a bit, kiddo.” He said.
The bar door swung open again; before Summer could turn around, she heard a confident Bradley Bradshaw call out, ‘Oh, Hastings!’
She abandoned her conversation with Maverick and ran toward Bradley, practically launching herself at him when she hugged him.
“I never had the privilege to meet your father, but I know he would’ve murdered you if he knew what you did today.” She whispered as they hugged.
“Calm down. You can’t get rid of me that easily.” So he laughed, tightly hugging the girl he considered his sister.
“God, Rooster. Don’t hog her.” Summer looked up to see Javy Machado standing with his hands in his pockets.
“Javy!” Summer grinned as she pushed Rooster away.
“I didn’t go on the mission but missed my daily dose of Summer.” He said as he hugged her, spinning her around in a circle while she laughed.
“It really sucked not having my gossip buddy around.” She pouted as he set her down.
“Guys, there she is!” Someone yelled, and the group inside turned to the opened door to see Bob, Reuben, and Mickey rushing in.
The three men crowded the short girl in a group hug as they laughed.
“We’re getting our hugs now since Jake and Nat are right behind us,” Bob said.
“You should’ve heard them fighting on the boat about who’d get to you first.” Reuben shook his head.
“‘I’m her best friend! I get to see her first!’ ‘I’m her boyfriend. I get to see her first!’” Mickey mocked.
“You’re kidding,” Summer laughed as she pointed Bradley to the coffee pot.
“Just wait until they find out I got here first.” Bradley chuckled.
“I was actually the first one here, kid.” Maverick corrected the younger man.
The door to the bar slammed open, and the group turned to see Jake and Nat struggling. Nat was on Jake’s back, trying to weigh him down while he walked through the door.
“Nat, get off!” Jake groaned as he spun them in an attempt to shake her off.
“I get to hug her first. It’s my right as her best friend!” Nat yelled.
“She’s my fiancée!” Jake argued.
“As of this morning! It barely counts. It was a fear-induced decision!” Nat countered.
“Mav, record this shit so we can send it to Penny.” Bradley cackled.
“Oh, yeah. Send me a copy of that.” Reuben said.
Nat and Jake struggled, neither of them realizing Summer was watching.
“Did no one else realize he just said, fiancée?” Bob asked.
Everyone stopped what they were doing to turn to Summer, besides the two still fighting in the doorway.
“You’re engaged? Ghost is gonna blow a gasket.” Maverick laughed.
“Summer,” Bradley said, disappointed. “Hangman?”
Jake’s head snapped up when he heard her name, and he quickly dropped Nat. As she fell from Jake’s grasp, Natasha stumbled and ran over to her friend. She quickly enveloped Summer in a hug, shielding her from Bradley.
“It was a lapse in judgment, Bradshaw.” Nat defended Summer.
“You helped him with the ring.” Summer reminded her.
“You exposed me? You snake.” Nat glared at Jake while he smiled at the two women embracing.
“Just admit it, Nat. You love Summer and me together.” He said, walking over to the women to hug them both.
“I love Summer,” Nat argued.
“And you love me by extension.” He smirked.
“Should I leave you two alone? There’s a weird tension, and I don’t know how I feel about it.” Summer said awkwardly.
“You know you’re the only one for me, doll.” Jake looked at her lovingly before pressing his lips to hers.
It would’ve been adorable if Nat wasn’t still pressed against the both of them gagging.
“You can leave, you know.” Jake glared at Nat.
“Til death do you part includes me, dipshit,” Nat said, gesturing between the couple.
Summer pulled away from the two and joined the rest of the squad, drinking coffee.
“Day one of the rest of your life, kid. How do you feel?” Maverick asked her, and the rest of the men looked over to hear her answer.
“It’s what I’ve always wanted.” She tearfully laughed while watching her lover and best friend argue about who loved her more.

If you don't mind, I wonder what are your opinions/hcs on Patroclus' feet fetish!
😈
General
There are ass men and there are breast men. And then there’s Patroclus. Much like the ass/breast man, he’s a looker. It’s not necessarily always in a sexual or pervy way. There’s a bit of an aesthetic angle to it. He just can’t help but notice feet.
Iliad/TSoA
I think Patroclus t became more aware of his foot fetish on Pelion. One day after a long hike, Achilles asks for a foot rub. The request got his heart POUNDING, even more than usual. He was nervous. He had to work to keep his breathing normal and his limbs from not trembling. But in the end, he still had a massive erection which was difficult to conceal.
I don’t think actual foot play happened until Skyros. On Skyros Achilles had worn anklets as part of his woman’s costume and had worn anklets with chimes (that acted as like a ghungroo or a payal) during performances. This jewelry was the sexiest thing Pat had ever seen in his life (think of teen boys seeing a bra irl for the first time). I don’t think they got too kinky. Pat did a lot of tracing the anklets with his lips, kissing the heels, kissing the arches, and kissing the toes. And once I think he sucked his big toe.
Achilles likes the beach. He loves to swim. He loves to sunbathe. But he’s also a jealous guy, so he doesn’t like to hang around places where there is a lot of naked feet for Pat’s viewing pleasure. So as they’re older, they don’t spend much time swimming or bathing in public.
Pat got his first footjob at Troy. It was a few years into the war. The Myrmidons had recently captured a small village down the coast. Achilles had earned a trunk of gold. Bored one evening as Pat was still assisting in the medical tents, Achilles went through the trunk and found some jewelry including anklets. He decided to surprise Pat by wearing them. As expected, it got Pat all hot and bothered. And in the heat of the moment, Pat got a footjob.
Achilles doesn’t think much of Pat’s unique interest. It’s just another means to flirt and tease. Achilles is a bit of a narcissist, he knows he’s gorgeous and perfect, so it only makes sense that his feet with be worshipped too.
Modern AU
Patroclus once bought Achilles a delicate gold anklet with a tiny heart charm. Achilles wears it all the time.
Achilles is really into fitness. After long run days he likes to soak his feet. Pat “helps” by giving foot massages (which almost always turn into 😈).
You know how little boys like to sneak a look at the lingerie section while shopping with mom and they like to look through her Victoria’s Secret catalog? Pat was more captivated by displays and ads for nylons. That was his fetish awakening. His secret fantasy was for Achilles to wear stockings. One day he confessed and Achilles was happy to indulge him. (now he’ll even get footjobs while Achilles wear stockings). It’s mostly about the texture for Pat. He likes the silky smoothness of the nylon. His favorite kind are the ones with the line down the back of the legs.
Shoes 🥴 Strappy sandals, peep-toe heels, stilettos are what Pat is here for. Achilles got the idea to wear some of these after catching Pat eying the women’s heels section of the shoe store one too many times. He surprised him of course. Achilles often wears them for scenes. I wouldn’t call it boot worship (they switch but Pat is a Dom), but Pat has certainly kissed and licked a few of Achilles’ heels.
Achilles typically goes shoe shopping with Pat. Pat likes to help pick out shoes and with the trying on part. Achilles likes the attention. Sometimes Achilles goes by himself. He especially likes to do so when shopping for heels. He’ll tease Pat with pics.
There’s nothing like a footjob, but there’s also nothing like having a pair of stock clad legs wrapped around your waist and a pair of heels digging into your back. If you were asking for Pat’s opinion that is.
Back to sexting. Achilles is a big texter. Pat is not, mostly due to work. When Achilles is feeling extra flirty or wants attention, he sends feet pics. Pat will occasionally go to the restroom and masturbate to the pics. It depends on his work schedule.
Then of course there are pedicures. Every so often Achilles will tease Pat by asking him to paint his toenails. Usually red. Pat will do this with absolute pleasure. It’s a tough job though. Pat always ends up with an erection, and they have to be careful what will the polish needing to dry. But mostly Achilles gets professional pedicures. On pedicure day Achilles texts him play-by-play updates with lots of gratuitous feet pics. A steamy evening usually follows (typically involving a footjob – though if Achilles got polish instead of a clear coat, then he’s a bit more hesitant about ruining the pedicure).
And I can’t forget my girl Pyrrha. She’s more of a fair-weather girl in that she prefers summer months due to her affinity for dresses. If it’s date night, then she will be in teasing mode. She might trip out of a hell like Cinderella or dangle a sandal off the tip of her toe or slide her bare foot up Pat’s leg.

RECAP OF TRIP TO FRANCE
Thursday, May 23 thru 29, 2024
DAY 4 - Memorial Day roadtrip thru Normandy to the D-Day beaches
Today’s excursion was the whole point of the trip: A historical deep dive to appreciate and honor the sacrifices of Allied soldiers in-person at the place where it happened, the beaches of Normandy. All 6 of us had prepared by watching and rewatching HBO’s acclaimed miniseries, Band of Brothers, in the week leading up to the trip. This was my jam.
Grant and I left around 8:30am for a 30-minute walk thru Caen to pick up our rental, a nice 8-passenger van that comfortably fit all 6 of us. We picked up our crew at the hotel, a Best Western in the heart of Caen around 9:30, and we set out.
The Normandy countryside seemed frozen in time and lived up to the expectation of quaint little villages in between miles (kilometers in Europe) of rural farms land. Grey brick structures with red or thatched roofs dotted the countryside with the occasional dairy cows and small herds of sheep in the background. The grass was a green as Ireland. I drove toward the coast to a playlist I had curated in the weeks before, hopefully pleasing all music tastes. Lots of classic country along with some Neil Young and a few of my more modern favorites.
We began with a stop 40-minutes away in Arromanches-les-Bains, a quaint seaside village with an outlook point over the English Channel where the British D-Day landings on Gold Beach occurred 80 years prior. As there invasion occurred on 6/6/44 and the days and weeks afterwards, Allied engineers quickly built an artificial harbor there which was the gateway for 9 thousand tons per day of military equipment into Nazi-occupied France as the Allied push eastward toward Berlin began. Because of this connection, Arromanches was a very Brit-friendly place with as many Union Jacks lining the streets as French flags. We were there for a lunch with their intent of avoiding Memorial Day crowds at restaurants closer to the American-landing D-Day sites of Utah and Omaha Beaches. We sought out a lunch of fish and chips and found Sergeant Willie’s. A gentle off-and-on rain came down as we ate in open air under the awning of the restaurant across from some nice D-Day-themed souvenir shops. The meal came as combo with a voucher for free gelato at the ice cream shop next door which was served by a beautiful, friendly French woman. Always stracciatella for me (vanilla with chocolate shavings).
We then headed west for our first American-led D-Day stop at Pointe du Hoc, a promontory into the English Channel between Utah and Omaha Beaches. It was a great first historical stop. It’s as place where 225 American Army Rangers scaled the cliffs on rope ladders to overtake German machine gun bunkers and strongholds. Only 90 Rangers made it out alive or not wounded, and their bravery was heroic and sacrifices heartbreaking. 40 years prior on June 6, 1984, President Ronald Regan gave a commemorative speech at the Ranger Monument located right on the point. Crazy to think that was the halfway mark from now to D-Day back on June 6, 2024.
From there, we jumped back in the van and headed eastward for the Normandy American Cemetery just above Omaha Beach, the bloodiest American-led entry point onto mainland Europe for the western theater.
The cemetery was solemn but beautiful. The coastal temps were hovering around 60°F all day with partly cloudy skies. Just the visual of the blue and green ocean in the background of a perfectly manicured green lawn housing the white marble burial stones for over 11K American troops from WWII was enough to make someone tear up and wonder how such a beautiful place could have been the site of so much bloodshed and misery… but ultimately… the beginning of “VE,” victory In Europe.
Because of the upcoming milestone anniversary of D-Day at 80 years, with any remaining WWII veterans right at 100-years-old or over, this specific site will be the center of the universe in less than 2 weeks with some VVIPs (very VERY important people) with every living U.S. president expected to be on location, or at least invited to be there, with the exception of Jimmy Carter who is currently in hospice care. Temporary stages were under construction at the main memorial monument at the cemetery, and we weren’t able to walk among the marble gravestones on the grass, but the views were breathtaking nonetheless.
We then drove out top Omaha Beach 5 minutes away since the walking access down from the cemetery to the beach was roped off. We parked just east of the main D-Day landing sites and walked 1.7 miles barefoot along the beach, picking up seashells for our kids and grandkids and thinking about the blood that soaked into the sand 8 decades earlier. It was impossible not to think of the opening scenes of Saving Private Ryan. Grant and I smoked some victory stogies on the beach which will always be a good memory for me.
By the time we walked all the way down from our parking spot to the abstract, metallic Les Braves monument which rose out of the sand nearly 2 miles east down the beach, my back was really hurting me. I’ve gained some of my weight back since my cancer diagnosis, but I lost so much muscle mass in my legs and core in the past 9 months, that I don’t have the typical Davis-athletic stamina that my bros, Dad, and uncle still have regardless of age. After a worthy but failed try at waking up a local Uber driver from their afternoon slumber (yes, Uber is available all over France), Danny and Grant heroically jogged all the way back to the car to come pick us up while Jed, Ben, and I grabbed some oysters and hard apple cider, a local specialty, at one of the few local pubs still open. My dad shopped for D-Day souvenirs at the Omaha Beach D-Day museum.
We arrived back out our Caen hotel for a a 2-hour respite after 4 straight full days of walking and seeing everything we could possibly see in the area. During that time, Jed found us a great spot at a French restaurant called Le Bistro Basque. We feasted on our first fine French cuisine of the trip with dinner orders ranging from escargot (Danny) to Jed’s medium rare (mostly rare) beef filet, to my lamb shanks, and Grant’s sea bass. We also had mollusks for apps and lemon meringue pie and ill-advised espressos (even if decaf) for dessert.
The night ended in the bar of our hotel with some very good, sometimes pointed and perhaps Bordeaux-fueled debate and deep conversation about the current state of the world and individual belief systems amid such interesting times as perceived and communicated by a couple of different generations represented on our trip (Gen-X and Millennials, my dad, probably the youngest possible Boomer, stayed upstairs to rest and unwind). We ended the night with heartfelt hugs and reassurances of mutual respect despite intergenerational differences in some of our worldviews. It was a bonding night, and we all retired exhausted after our fullest day of the trip thus far.
