The hotel this late at night, or early in the morning, rather, was quiet. Even Angel Dust had managed to drag himself to bed, and it'd be a few hours before anyone else woke up. Perfect for Alastor to take some time for himself in the kitchen. He and sleep had a contentious relationship anyway. In life, he'd joked he'd sleep when he was dead. Once he died he didn't see the point to it most times.

Bowls of dough were lined up on the counter, in various states of rising. While he waited on that, he worked on what would become the fillings. It was a point of pride that he was an excellent chef, even when he didn't care for particular tastes himself. So there was meat for his, and various fruits for others. Including some Red Delicious apples that he knew would not bake and cook so well, but he'd claim ignorance on that later. Everyone would be so relieved he hadn't made all of them with suspicious meat that they wouldn't comment if some turned out poorly.

Alastor liked to think of himself as a man of many talents. Radio host, serial killer, suave dancer, master occultist, musician, these were all just a few of the many hats he wore. He had a variety of hobbies, time to pursue them, and was secure enough he didn't mind showing them off. Who was going to make fun of the Radio Demon, even with his jacket set aside and sleeves rolled up to his elbows? Not anyone that didn't want to feature in his broadcasts, that's for sure.

Of course, there were always exceptions to the rule.

"The kitchen is closed," he sing-songed as soon as he heard someone come in. This late there was only one person who would do so. "I'm afraid we don't have any cheese left, as someone ate it all the other night, so you'll have to wait until breakfast is ready if you're feeling hungry." A shadow slipped up the fridge, wrapping it in chains and a lock. Easily broken, but Alastor was nothing if not petty.

The girl grunted as she tried to force the last few items into her already-bulging backpack. Maybe she was over-prepared, the brunette was aware; but all the same. For her very first official AVL mission? Even if she was just tagging along with Gru and Lucy, even if her role was just to find a safe corner and provide support for them by hacking into the security system of the lair they were infiltrating?

Margo wanted to make sure that she had all she needed.

Finally forcing the zip to close over the last few supplies she'd just purchased, the bespectacled girl let out a breath of satisfaction, slung the heavy bag over her shoulder--

And almost clobbered the girl who was exiting the shop behind her with it. Margo's hand flew to her mouth with a gasp.

"Oh, I'm so sorry--! Are you alright?"

As much as she was sure that Gru, in this position, would have just laughed and moved on... Margo didn't have it in herself not to care about the fellow kid who she'd almost knocked down.
