"Yes, Medic, I know all that. This isn't my first time" Caretaker smiled warmly.

"Just wanted to make sure, good luck" Medic patted Caretaker on the shoulder and walked out, closing the door behind him.

The house was the usual cookie-cutter house that Caretaker has been in dozens of times. Many people confuse Caretaker and Medic: assuming they have the same role. However, Medic's job is to get Whumpee out of the woods, and then Caretaker steps in. Whumpee is given a room in a house that's creatively referred to as a 'Caretaker house,' which is where Caretaker will live with them full time to help them heal from day to day. Caretaker knows the drill and this house like the back of her hand, yet she still looks across the living room, over at the door that Whumpee is currently sleeping in.

So Caretaker is as quiet as possible when walking up the steps to get to her designated room.

It had been around 4 hours later when Caretaker had finally seen a sign of life coming from Whumpee's room. She was in the kitchen making dinner, with quiet music coming from her record player she set up right next to the TV. Over the years, she's bought a vynl for each of her Whumpees. Once she got to know them: and their favorite artist, she would go out and buy a few records 'inspired' by them and they would sign one.

Caretaker had zoned out making dinner: she snapped out of her thoughts only because she heard a door open: snapping her head over her left shoulder, she was suprised to see a girl who couldn't have been over 17. Her dark curly hair was resting on her shoulders and it seemed as if she was coated in bandages. Her nose was crooked, but not in the natural sense, but in the sense that it had been broken one too many times. "Uh..who are you?" The girl questioned

"I'm Caretaker, I'm gonna be watching over you for a little while"

"Okay, uhm. What's that smell?"

"Dinner, you hungry? I made sure to make some for the both of us"

Even though the girl shook her head no, she still came up and sat at a barstool: still seemingly dazed, as if she couldn't process things at a normal speed. Which is to be expected. "So, would you like to talk, or would you like me to stay quiet"

"Hm?"

"Would you like me to stay silent and let you process things for a little bit. Or, would you rather have a conversation and small talk? I'm not gonna be mad at you for picking either option"

"Tell me who you are"

Caretaker's interest was piqued hearing that: "What do you mean?"

"Why are you here? Who are you? Why do you care? And what happened to that one big burly guy that save me?"

Caretaker thought for a second, and started, "Well, for starters: that man's name was Medic and he's a coworker of mine. A very sweet guy, you were in good hands. And like I said, my name is Caretaker. I am a registered nurse and this is where I am going to be living here for however long it takes you to heal. And I care, because you're human and deserve stability as much as anyone else." Caretaker sets a place of food in front of Whumpee, "Any other burning questions?"

This was for a contest a record company was hlding for a special edition of the lately gorillaz LP, signed, on vynl. I didnt win but it was fun regaurdless.

When I first starte drawing it was because of gorillaz and I went out my way to try and imimatate jamie and did so super poorly...so then it became ANIME! I think I hold these inpsirations very obviously, but just an FYI.

heres another one. I do not smoke tabbaco, origonally that ciggarette was a joint, but I was super anxious it may effect things if I kept it as such, so I recoloured it to look like a normal ciggarette. I am indeed a coward.

This piece was particularly based on phase 1/early phase 2 gorillaz style!

A very rough draft

Every time it rains the window sounds like static. Or well, a static sound effect. Its been decades since the last cable tv went offline and now the only proof of these classic sound effects we have is recordings. Long ago digitized and used for atmosphere, ripped out of context.

Thats what the rain on my window sounds like. Its a comforting noise almost, it feels real compared to everything else in my room. Polyester bedsheets, vynl vaneer wood desk, peeling wallpaper that once looked like a sky blue, now rotted and decayed into a dark twisted green that looked purple when i pulled up the blinds and let the light pour in from the glowing sign.

My desk is cluttered. Always has been. Its been covered in failed projects and trashed stories since i could remember. Theres an ash tray on my desk which i reporpused to be an insence burner. Its black vaneer has chipped away, letting the copper underneath rust to be a sickly green.

Back when i had a monitor that was always messy too. Spilled drinks left resisue i never bothered to clean, and my keyboard had a thick layer of dust and danderuff in it. I dont really have a monitor anymore however. The biolink is simply more convenient, and with my biolink head jack its trivial to plug myself into my computer and get anything i want beamed into my mind. Image fidelity isnt even a factor, the space is constructed arround me, and i can view it better than any human eye could.

Just like every other day i sit down in my pleather chair to jack in. Its comfortable, but the fake leather is peeling, the cotton is coming out, and some of the staples are coming out. I have a jack stand, which just surmounts to an aluminum bracket, poorly mounted on the wall to hold the biojack cable.

Once i slip the cable in and shut my eyes a world emerges from the blackness, with a luxorious living room with a white fur rug, a black table, and elegant walls. Everything has gold accents, and an inset triangle pattern, looping and getting fractally smaller and smaller.

The house has no walls aside from its outer walls, and is built in an L shape. At any given point you can generally only see 2/3 of the house, and with some clever cubic bookshelves it gives the house little spots with designated functions. The southernmost chunk is the trophy room. Any acomplishment ive made gets its own section of shelf to be celebrated. As you walk through the golden trophies shimmer in the beautiful light as you wander. Its a small space but you can get lost easily enough.

Then theres the livingroom, which is in the corner. This is where you go if youve just entered from cyberspace which has a tinted glass door, which leads into the hub automatically. It has a fur rug, topped by a black coffee table and a stark white leather couch. There is a digital screen which hovers just infront of the wall, perfectly flat and 2 dimensional. Yeah i still watch flat media, im a hipster. Bite me.

Then in the final corner i have my artspace. I make money by selling 3d models. I do some client work but mostly i make generic models and sell the rights for cheap. I loved it.

I step to my digital mirror in my room and my avatar stares back at me. A tall woman, with a short black haircut and sharp facial features. This isnt what i look like in real life, but it makes me look hotter, so thats ok.

Currently my character is wearing a black coat and a white undershirt, with an accent in the form of an embroidered chain on the edges of the coat. I contemplate weather or not a tie would work, and flip flop before deciding to ditch the tie.

Once i have it on i walk up to the door and type "the glitz#1027" into the destination console. Every cyberspot has a name and a number tag associated with it, and the spot im going to is one of my favorites, as it fits my aesthetic perfectly. Hell i know the owner and designed a good portion of their furniture

When i get there i walk in, claim my reservation spot, and wait. And wait. Finally she arrives. Shes stunning. Bright red dress, with an opening along the legs to reveal her thighs, and her curves highlighted by the light. She sits with a dainty grace, and smiles at me with that gorgeous smile. We've been dating for about 5 weeks now and yet she is still as gorgeous as the day i first saw her.

She takes a seat and we begin talking. Its as if the whole world fades away, and her silky smooth voice is the only thing that matters. Her velvet red lips move sensually and her face looks elegant and pointed, as though she has been crafted to appeal to every sense of mine. After an hour of talking i eventually screw up the courage and ask "when am i gonna get to see your place?" "Huh?" "Well i wanna know more about you" "haha, anyways" and she continues on.

Come to think of it i dont remember what she was saying. I cant remember a single conversation with her, so i pull out my console and check her information. I keep nodding yes as she speaks as i dig through. Shit, her info is password protected. I pull out a brute force module and plug it into the console and within miliseconds its tried every possible combination, and found a password. "FhRc#9926!"

Shit. Fake human, real connection. Those scumbags. They make virtual sex dolls. Fuck fuck no it cant be. I look through her information more. Fuck what is her name even? Fuck bro, an agreement module? A charm module? How did she get permissions to run these? God damnit. When i turn them off i see a green mesh facing me. Just ones and zeroes, humming, and being processed to sound like charming speech.

My fucking god she was a chatbot the whole time. I disconnect from the glitz immediately and i sit onto the white couch. Fuck bro this couch isnt real either. The fur on the rug never belonged to an animal, the trophies are 3d models, with a shiny texture. None of it is real. God im a fool, fuck FuCk FuCK FUCK FUCK FUCK

I disconnect and open my eyes, immediately launching myself out of my pleather chair and on my knees. My hands are on my biojack, where protrudes from the back of my head. I get my hands on the jackplate, and i pry, and I pry, and I pry. The pain fills every ounce of being, every logical part of my brain is telling me to stop, but i keep pulling. Eventually i yank the biochip out of my head, as blood and brain matter splatters across the room.

Pain. The only thing my mind feels is pain. My entire body is involuntairily recoiling from the pain. Eventually the pain subsides into an intense heat. The world seems to fade arround me and my honest room goes dark.

Match Maker Three's Company

I can't say when like if it's this life, next life, life in the spirit realms but Erik introduced me to Jonathan's spirit self who just so happens to live in the peace realms! So we have a house of peace and love. Being that we're stoners, it makes me want to get out the Greatful Dead Vynl 🤣rofl.

Johnathan stays with us or should I say is a constant guest now. He's alive and Erik took me to look at Scott Eastwood because that's his doppelganger 😱 😍. At first I wasn't very impressed. Well until I got to know him. We had 9 lives together. As husband and wife was just 6. We talked about each life. It was a lot of fun too!

Vince was our son in one life and our killer in another.

Seriously. It's like Vince loves showing up as some kind of asshole. I had enjoyed learning about us and when I was told he's alive and we'd be friends it got me excited. I don't have real life friends or positive influences. Just know a lot of shady people or some that don't really have their life in shape. I'm so tired of "bums" wanting my attention. It's always people who have a ton of baggage and don't do anything to fix them. Or say they are but provide no hard evidence. I'm not going to fall for these traps again! This pattern is broken!

I've come to terms that I need to be happy even if it means it needs to not be with Erik. 🤔 Of course he will always be in my life and my heart. I've decided I can love someone else just as much as I love Erik. That can't be bad. I trust Erik's judgement because he knows me so well. Like I'll have two husbands! 🤣 They are cool with it for the most part. Erik keeps assuring me its okay because he will have his ways to "influence" Johnathan with his consent of course. Duuuh...

It's so funny how they both fight over me 😂. Erik actually got upset with John using the fact he's alive and had been a good husband to me in our previous lives. Erik left me all three times and killed himself. At first I used it as a joke and a way to just mess with him. I guess he had enough of being reminded of this and got pretty upset. The argument settled, they both apologized. How weird though!

I drafted a contract for the three of us.

We three sat at our table discussing the "logistics" of the situation as what Erik called his "stand in". We talked about what he needs to do and provide as a friend. Johnathan said he's 30 going on 31 and I guessed right about him being a capricorn. They are very good people. I believe it. I think he's a good guy but he's still human so I only know the spirit side of him. Somewhere, idk... Well I have a good idea what state he's located in. How/when we will meet? That I donno and God won't tell me anything else. Johnathan signed, I signed and had God approved and singed off on it as well.

Yes, we’ll be getting into the meat and potatoes of this latest release from Marvel and Funko with lots of lovely pics in this post, and the last thing we want to do is spoil it for anyone who has happened to click on here without care and doesn’t want the surprise ruining for them. So, here’s your last chance if you’ve ordered this box. No turning back. No regrets, no recriminations. All good?

  Good. Excellent. Let’s dive in, then.

One thing we can’t level at Marvel or Funko anymore is the accusation that they’re not listening. Those of us that have been collecting these subscription boxes for a while have had the feeling that we’ve been stuck in the same routine: the same kind of items, presented in an increasingly predictable fashion. Something needed shaking up. And that’s exactly what they’ve done for this, their October 2017 box, themed around the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe release, THOR: RAGNAROK.

The first thing you notice is the size of the box, and it’s the first clue that we are dealing with a totally different type of Collector Corps box than usual. It’s slightly unsettling. Smaller in width and depth than a comic book, the first thought is: what have they actually fit into this thing?

Can’t knock the quality of box artwork, though: that remains consistent, with Hela taking pride of place on the top of the box and our two clashing gladiators going at it inside. It’s all very cinematic and channels you into the goodies inside. Which, for our first change from the norm, isn’t a fold-out flap with a patch and pin combo glued to the top – okay, we really are going for something different.

First item out of the box is a grey polyester ARENA HULK BEANIE HAT, printed with Hulk’s battle tattoo up and over the top of the Beanie and sewn with a silicone badge with a Funko-fied Arena Hulk, giving it the full gurn. It’s a one-size fits all, a little small for my liking but it’ll stretch out like Banner’s pants for most bonces. It’s a change from the tees, I guess, and the first clue that we’re switching things up. We fold that to one side and continue inside.

Once the beanie is out of the way, you spot that the box dimension is mostly made up of two POP!’s and the rest of the contents, squirreled down the slim gap left down the side. We’ll leave the POP!’s until last and pull out the other items.

Next up is a BRANDED FOUR MAGNET SET, featuring Thor, Loki, Hulk and Hela, smirking mischievously. I’m not overly familiar with the rest of the ever-growing Funko family but I don’t recognise the styling of the characters – are they Rock Candy? Are they Vynl.’s? Not entirely sure, but they’re not in the recognisable Funko POP! design so there’s that. Something to stick on the fridge, I guess. Moving on.

I’ve been doing my best to keep these things out of my house – in much the same way as I avoided Tamagotchis – as the latest fad of the day. I’m certain they serve a purpose for some people and they’re all fun, I guess, I I’m not interested. Oh, well. I suppose one won’t kill me – and with Funko-fied Thor, Hulk and Valkyrie on one side and Loki, Hela and Gamesmaster on the other, at least it’s on brand. Pretty weighty, too.

Speaking of which, I’ve said this on numerous occasions: the METAL ENAMEL PIN that comes with Collector Corps boxes in the past are usually particularly mighty – here, we have a Hela pin which has been made from a different metal this time and doesn’t have the same heft to it as usual. Might actually be able to wear this one on a t-shirt without it pulling the fabric out of shape. Okay, alright: another small improvement.

Speaking of change, our next item out of the box is… er, a PACK OF PLAYING CARDS. Erm, okay. This is another first for the Collector Corps boxes and, I guess, might come in handy to while away that time in line for the THOR: RAGNAROK midnight screening. Featuring some MCU Concept Artist Andy Park-styled artwork on all the backings, no real tie to any Funko branding, they’re, erm, playing cards. No more, no less and not a great deal more I can say, to be honest.

Have we got to the POP!’s yet? Yes. Yes, we have. It’s what we came for and and there’s two of them to take in. And they’re gorgeous!

Let’s start with POP! MARVEL, THOR RAGNAROK – #247 THOR, in full blown Arena Battle armour, as we’ve seen so far in the trailers. It’s a stunning sculpt, full of detail and brilliantly rendered. Someone has seriously taken their time on putting this together at Funko HQ and the effort has really paid off.

I suspect that someone has also has a word with the Manufacturing Team in Vietnam, too, because this isn’t some slipshod paint job, either. Sharp on the edges, intricate in some rather hard-to-reach spots, I’d almost think that a new machine has been installed on the factory floor. Bravo, RoboPaint 4000. Please don’t kill us all when the machine uprising takes place.

And last but not least, you’ve got POP! MARVEL, THOR RAGNAROK – #248 LOKI, also dressed in regalia we’ve seen in the trailers, notably the scene where he’s all shiv-ved up and ready to stick ’em where the sun don’t shine. ]

This is another wonderfully designed sculpt and, again, really well painted, especially on his tunic and arm-and-shoulder pads. His eyebrows are sharp and full of expression – appropriate for our man, Tom Hiddleston – and really gives the figure reall attitude. Marvellous.
