Silmarilasta - Day 1: Valinor

A day late, but ah well!

I don’t think I’ve ever tried writing alliterative verse before, and I had a good time with it! Here, have some sad Eärendil content.

Aiya Eärendil!

Aiya Eärendil elenion ancalima,

borne on black waves to the beaches jeweled

by the Noldor in days now passed into shadow –

beaches of the land where loss comes seldom,

land of a people who will live forever,

yet whose bliss is shadowed by two barren trees.

Hail Eärendil! O hope that was longed for

Herald of a people passed beyond reach,

our wandering kinsfolk who went into darkness

seeking the light that has brought you safely

out of death-shadow on the mortal shore –

the jewel on your brow that has borne you home.

I can’t believe I’ve never drawn the Kidnap Fam before! This was a lot of fun. Also technically I drew this on the 3rd but whatever lmao. I’m pretty happy with how Maedhros turned out, though I did forget to give him earrings. Oops.

@silmarilasta Day 26: Reunion! I already did a Russingon reunion piece, lol, but here’s another one. I just. I love them.

This is absolutely definitely not a scene from my fic “come at unawares” (warning for elf porn). I mean, the “title quote” for this piece might be lifted directly from that, and I might have been imagining this scene of them together since I wrote that, but nahhhhhh.........
