Kunal getting upset over Ishaan and his feelings for Mauli is the most hilarious thing ever ..If only he could remember the trashiness he and his chiffon saree wearing, rain dancing, adulteress were involved in, which completely broke Mauli's soul and robbed her of her ability to trust. The mild restlessness and insecurity he is feeling over Ishaan doesn't even come close..
Tumblr media
As for Pari, all I can say is, the apple doesn't fall very far from the tree. Wanting what other's have is a common theme with both mother and daughter. Nandini wanted Mauli's husband for herself. Pari wants Mauli for herself & Kunal and doesn't care if Ishaan and even Mishti gets hurt in the process..Like her mother, she will stop at nothing to get what she wants, and will look totally innocent while doing it...I have to applaud this rare genetic talent that they possess...Like mother, like daughter indeed...

Hey, are you watching Silsila on Voot? Kunal's new show?
No.
I like Tejasswi, but this one sounds a lot like Swaragini (her hit show) with two sisters falling for the same guy. Not my cup of tea. (At least psycho Ragini was fun, this one tho….)
Kunal….is fat, (yes, I body shame men, but not women), and hairless apparently, so again not my cup of tea. Also, the way Kunal fans have been spreading negativity about Shrenu’s new show, even before the promo is out, has really put me off Kunal for this life. Ugh, guess some fans can really make you dislike an actor.

silsila badalte rishton ka | 09.14.18
⤑ episode summary.
mauli sits quietly by the couch, head resting on her arm, lost in thought. she recollects all the events that hinted at kunal+nandini’s illicit relationship--the bridge incident where the woman hugging him had a black and white sari, his birthday night when nandini--face aglow--surprised him with a chocolate cake, or perhaps even love at first sight. that very first moment when kunal leaped into the pool for nandini. kunal comes to her side, carrying a glass of water, which he offers her. she doesn’t take it, instead taking the opportunity to ask all the questions which haunt her.
at her tragic insistence of questions, kunal finally breaks, telling her, “i tried so hard, mauli. i tried so hard, not to--but i lost. i couldn’t do it.”
at this, mauli is sparked back into bitterness and anger. “you lost? kunal, you lost? who lost? you or me? i have lost seven years of my life, my marriage, my love, my trust, my very confidence--all gone! you did not lose. you are the one who crossed every boundary of marriage. you’re a doctor, too, aren’t you? don’t you know what a loss means in regards to a patient’s life? a person under your care can die if you do not put forth your best attempt! so don’t try to portray yourself as a victim in this situation. who lost? i did, while my husband and my best friend found each other. and still, there is no explanation. you have killed me, kunal, you have killed the naïve mauli! she will never come back again. you have killed my love, my trust, my affection--you have killed me! you have killed that sweet, faithful mauli.” she shakes his collar, words broken by sobs, before she falls to his feet, fingers white-knuckled and clenched around the dark fabric of his pants.
deeda and ma look on, shocked, bewildered, horrified. the camera zooms in. ma finally steps forward, cheeks flushed in anger, and tugs on kunal’s evergreen sleeve, turning him to face her--slapping him hard the moment he does. she too questions everything--the flaws in her upbringing, the flaws within him. whose hands did she place her daughter-in-law’s destiny? and though her daughter-in-law toiled day and night to fulfill his forgotten dream, he whiled away his time with his wife’s dearest friend! isn’t he ashamed?
she commands for him to leave, scathingly yelling at him when he doesn’t do so immediately, leaning down to wrap mauli in her arms. kunal looks on dead-eyed, before eventually leaving the home, clearly shaken to the core. once he opens the door, he finds sweety, who blathers on quickly to hide her eavesdropping. kunal merely steps away silently, desolate.
after a while, nandini’s figure can be seen walking down the hallway. pale-faced and clad in a peach-floral white sari, she stands shivering outside their door, looking at the sign [dr. mauli and dr. kunal malhotra] and bell. within the house, ma is carding her fingers through mauli’s hair, and mauli lifts her head from ma’s lap, sensing someone close to her heart outside the home.
⤑ episode reflection.
hmm. i mean, given that this is the episode right after the first part of the big ‘climax’, it stands to say that it’s merely the transition episode from the first confrontation (kunal+mauli) to the next (nandini+mauli). to be totally honest, i can’t really wrap my head around why nandini has decided to go to mauli’s house. besides the whole ‘kunal shouldn’t suffer through this alone.’ i can say with not a little amount of confidence that kunal most likely isn’t sparing a thought for nandini at the moment. her decision to appear at mauli’s doorstep now, of all times, just comes off as insensitive to me. it feels selfish--she’s doing it because she wants to release herself from the sin she’s committed, i also think she’s under the misconception that kunal is also there--still facing mauli--so it feels too as though she’s going so that when she does endure mauli’s grief, she won’t be alone. kunal will be by her side. or something like that. i don’t know. it feels wrong to me, but what do i know?
i have to say that i’m beyond excited for mauli’s mother to find out, because she will one hundred percent go full mother goose and unleash the wrath of the seven heavens on kunal (and nandini .. which i’m not excited for, just because i know mauli’s mother is the type to go to town on the lowblows). but i’m excited for kunal to get what’s coming to him!
kunal, i think, is finally seeing what he’s done. seeing mauli undone like that has plainly had some impact on him. his eyes when he left were truly perturbed. his silence says something in and of itself too. i’m glad he too is realizing what he’s done. those few sweet chai+kheer moments suddenly don’t feel worth it, huh, kunal? lol.
something that’s also niggling at me a bit is that nandini has essentially no support system now--especially if kunal turns his back on her (which i don’t think he’ll do, but who knows). she’s given all of that up. deeda, ma, mauli--no one is there for her anymore. she truly has to stand alone now, and i’m unsure of whether she’ll be able to do that. it’s honestly a matter of weathering the storm to get to the light--whether that’ll be mauli fighting for their marriage, a time jump, kunal+nandini choosing to elope, whatever--their choices and its consequences are now out in the open, and they must react accordingly.

it’s a meh show with a trash premise and trash “lead” characters (kunal/nandini), and i’m definitely not going to watch it on the long-term, but i’ve been catching these “reveal” episodes of silsila badalte rishton ka just to see how they handle the whole situation, and i gotta say, it’s pretty good. the writing wrt to mauli and how she’s reacting is perfect. more importantly, the writing refuses to dignify what kunal/nandini did; not letting them justify it by CONSCIOUSLY NOT GIVING them any dialogue whatsoever since the moment mauli finds out. the focus is completely on mauli and her rage and hurt and grief, as it should be. mauli absolutely refusing to let kunal play the victim, when she’s the one who lost everything is just so on point. plus kunal’s mother thoroughly and firmly taking mauli’s side over raja beta’s is just...  *kisses fingertips* good job, writers.
i don’t have hope that the show will sustain this tone/stance, because hindi shows rarely do, and coz i don’t think they can keep it going by vilifying the two main leads (esp. nandini), but for now, these last few episodes have been completely gratifying to watch.
also aditi sharma as mauli is just perfection. what an actress. truly superlative. clearly the best performer on this show, by heads and shoulders. i am in love!

Tellywood Bloggers
If you hate it so much, don’t watch? I understand critiquing a show while following it. But these bloggers just want to shit on something for cool points. While also making posts which have a condescending tone and may make others watching the show feel like less than for it.
I enjoy TV in all its crappy gloriousness for those small gut wrenching moments that make me come back to them or the chemistry of the leads or drama and emotions. Tellywood is not famous for being progressive. While it can be problematic for a million different reasons, acknowledge that it is, and that it doesn’t have any real impact on your everyday life and move on. Tellywood is like my sane corner where I can unwind in the privacy of my home without being judged.
Given the nature of my blog, i follow and reblog a lot of tellywood bloggers. So far I’ve come across wonderful people who take the time out to do live blogs and summaries (Tellywoodtrash, parmeshwari, Ishqsa, theincorriginlemagpie) and I absolutely enjoy spamming their replies. But I also see a new breed of tellywood bloggers who spam the tag of the shows with negativity and lots of hate. They take Tellywood and themselves way too seriously.
This is one of the reasons i like blogs like Ishqsa and Tellywoodtrash. They give shows a chance, make up their minds if it’s their kinda show and no matter how much their followers badger them, they just do their thing and watch what they watch. Why would anyone waste time and energy on watching something they hate and then take the time out to fill the tags with that hate?

I know Kunal has lost his memory and all that, but all this screaming and yelling angrily for Mauli is seriously getting old. If he loved Mauli so much, that her mere absence made him restless then how did he leave her for Ms.Chiffon Sari?
Tumblr media
On the bright side, it really warmed my heart to see Ishaan show so much faith in Mauli. I hope the writers decide to get Mauli & Ishaan together. It would be unfair to see yet another good, deserving person get hurt, just to ensure that Kunal got his happy ending when he really doesn’t deserve it...That guy has seriously gotten away with a lot already..
