i think there's something to be said for how in almost every piece of queer media you'll have a scene where character A asks character B to run away with them. i'm talking alpha century, i'm talking sailing to fucking china, i'm talking jonathan sims considering gouging out his eyes with martin blackwood and just walking away, i'm talking peter nureyev and juno steel in season 1, i'm TALKING about LAN WANGJI and "come back to Cloud Recesses with me".

there's just something so inherently bittersweet about the idea of running away with your loved one that's deeply ingrained in the queer experience and i think that's lovely.

And there's also something to be said for the fact the answer is almost always "no"

Alexander: Happy Anniversary. Megan: They’re beautiful, thank you my love. Alexander: Are you about ready? Reservation is at 7. Megan: Almost, I just need five minutes.

Alexander: We’re off. Spencer, you’re in charge, be sure to keep these boys in line. Spencer: I will!

Asher: Ha! I am the undefeated champion!

Spencer: Until tonight.

Asher: Have I ever told you how cute you are when you concentrate like that? Atlas: Yes, now stop distracting me. Asher: I can’t help it. You look so seri—

Asher: Ahhhhahahaha!!!

Atlas: Oops.

Asher: You know whoever’s in charge has to make dinner, right? So, what are you making for us? Spencer: Hmm... Ice cream for me, and broccoli for you! Asher: Ooh yes! I love broccoli. We should add brussels sprouts too. Make sure you steam them so the whole house will smell like vegetables. Spencer: [giggles] Eww!

Atlas: How about I’m in charge and I’ll order pizza. Spencer: Can I still have ice cream? Atlas: Sure. After dinner. Spencer: Deal.

Spencer: When are your babies gonna get here? Atlas: Not for a while. Li isn’t due until January. Spencer: So, is Li going to be their mom? Asher: No, Li is just carrying them for us. Our babies don’t have a mom. Just two dads.

Spencer: Oh. Do the babies have names yet? Asher: One of them does. The girl is named Sadie. Spencer: Why doesn’t the boy have a name? Atlas: We haven’t found one we like yet.

Spencer: Can I help? Atlas: We’re open to suggestions, but no promises. Asher: Yeah, we gotta find one that feels right, y’know. Spencer: Well, you should make sure it starts with an ‘S’. Atlas: Why? Because your name starts with ‘S’? Spencer: No! Because Sadie starts with ‘S’. Your names both start with ‘A’ and the puppies’ names both start with ‘P’ so both the babies should start with ‘S’.

Asher: [considers] Sound logic. Atlas: Yeah. That narrows it down at least. Asher: ‘S’ name it is. Atlas: How about you brainstorm ‘S’ names while you get ready for bed. Spencer: Already? Atlas: Yep. Go on. Spencer: Fine. But there’s a kid in my class named Scott, and he’s mean. He made fun of my drawing in front of everyone, so you can’t name your baby Scott. Asher: Got it. It’s off the list. Now go.

Asher: Hey. You’re home early. Everything okay? Iris: Yeah, just tired. It’s been a long day. Is Spencer in bed already? Atlas: Not yet. She’s getting ready now. Iris: Perfect. Thanks for watching her. Asher: No problem. We had fun.

Iris: Just so you know, I invited Ezra over for dinner tomorrow. Atlas: Why would you do that? Iris: Because he’s my boyfriend, and I want him to meet my family.

Atlas: [rolling his eyes] I don’t know what you see in him. I swear you have the worst taste in men. Iris: Not as bad as my brother.

Asher: Guys, seriously, can you not do this tonight? Iris: Whatever. You don’t have to join us for dinner if you don’t want to, but he is coming and it’s kind of a big deal for me, so please don’t ruin it. Atlas: I won’t. Trust me, I’ll stay as far away as possible. Iris: Perfect.

The Greek Goddess Legacy Challenge: All Generations

Hi everyone! Since all my generations are posted separately, I thought it would be nice to have a post with links to every goddess. So.. Here it is :)

Gaia, Mother Earth. Primal Goddess of the earth. She who gave birth to all the elements in the world.

Aphrodite, Lady of Cythera. Olympian Goddess of Love, Beauty, Passion, Lust and Desire.

Hera, Queen of Heavens. Olympian Goddess of Marriage and Birth and Queen of the Gods.

Demeter, The Good Goddess. Goddess of Harvest, Agriculture, the Cycle of Life and Law

Persephone, Queen of the Underworld. She who destroys the light, Goddess of Spring, Death, Life and Destruction. Queen of the Underworld

Hecate, Guardian of the Crossroads. Goddess of Witchcraft, the Night, Crossroads, Ghosts and Necromancy.

Athena, The Bird Goddess. Goddess of Wisdom, Courage, Mathematics, Skill, Civilization and Strategic War.

Amphitrite, Queen of the Seas. Goddess and Queen of the Sea

Nemesis, The Inescapable. Goddess of Retribution for Evil deeds, Hubris and Undeserved good Fortune

Nike, Winged Victory. Goddess of Speed, Strength and Victory

Artemis, Protectress of Girls. Goddess of the Hunt, Forests, Hills, Moon, Childbirth and Archery.

Iris, Wondrous One. Goddess of the Rainbow and Messenger of the Olympian Gods

The Greek Goddesses Challenge by LJJ-Sims is a challenge based on the ancient mythical creatures and stories from Greece. I fell in love with Greek mythology in high school and have not let that love go since. In this challenge you will follow 10 deities in their journey through life. Every goddess has a different take on and goal in life. Special about this challenge?  All your kids have little challenges of their own, not only your heir. These challenges are optional, so if you feel like these are too much or just too restricting for you: by all means let them go. I also have sheets for characters that you can make before you start each generation. This gives your challenge a lot more personality and makes it frankly easier and more fun!

A little disclaimer: because I made these gods and goddesses into a legacy challenge, the relationships in the myths don’t exactly match the relationship in this challenge. There is a lot of keep it in the family in mythology, to put it lightly. And apart from the fact that you can’t do that in the Sims, I don’t really like that part. So I didn’t include it, thus the inconsistency. An example: Ares is now Hera’s stepfather instead of her son, which she conceived with her brother  and husband Zeus. This inconsistency can also be found in the stories. It’s just based on and not copied exactly, as Sims live lives that are a lot shorter than those of immortal gods. And it takes a way from the creativity if we just copy the myths. Even if we wanted to do that, it’s quite hard, as every myths has its fair share of variations and some are just completely different stories.

benji has never been much of a people person, but living at his apartment complex has forced him to become familiar with his neighbors, whether he likes it or not. (he does, deep down.)

there are all sorts of people living at benji's complex, but a majority are people around his age, from similar backgrounds, so at least he fits in pretty well.
