Hello guys, I guess this is it. The big project I was mentioning a few times, is ready to be revealed.

I hereby present to you: TS3 Buy-Build Defaults Database!

...a database made with Google Spreadsheets that aims to list every buy and build items in TS3 and Expansion/Stuff Packs (excluding Katy Perry --I don't have it T_T), with their corresponding default replacements if there is any. Alternatively this can also be used as reference for object names and which pack they come from and they do also come with thumbnail photos to visualize each object as how they are in the catalog.

I would also like to announce the corresponding tumblr page for this database, @ts3bbddb to serve as contact should there be questions, feedback, or to send download links for defaults via ask/message. Of course you may also contact me for similar purposes..

As of this moment, the database is still in a work in progress (you see Katy Perry pack is still missing hihihi) but rest assured this will be continually worked on and help for sure will be very welcome!

i tried avoiding same faced-ness as much as i could while putting these together, but to be double sure i also included some sims by other creators i asked permission 500 years ago (it took me A BIT longer than expected)

the male base sim for 16/pat and female base sim for 25/maggie & 26/bree are by tvickiesims, 20/rhiannon is by platinumaspiration, 21/witches is by serabiet, 18/maxxx is by yakumtsaki and 23/lyta is by esotheria!

Something for any sims 2 newbies who might stumble upon my tumblr. This is not an exhaustive list, just some web sites and blogs I know of and like.

Just a little warning first, english is my second language and while I read it fluently, I have some trouble with phrasing stuff. So the following might be a bit wonky.

Multiple Creators

Mod the Sims: one of the biggest sims 2 sites, also has content for the other sims games

Garden of Shadows: it's forum but you don't need to register to see or download stuff, also has content for sims 3 and sims 4

simblr.cc: quite new, also has content for the other sims games plus inZOI

Plumb Bob Keep: CC for historic themed games, the Download section is visible without registration

Simspearls: forum, registration needed before you can access it.

This is an entire collection that is interwoven with each other. Hair is repositoried to different ages, genders, defaults, and even hidden toddler hair. It's highly recommended that the collection stay intact and that you have the Ultimate Collection or all EP/SP. Recategorizers do not work with this collection

Not all hair works with each sims' faces and not all sims' faces work with each hair. So keep in mind foreheads, cheeks and ears may poke out. Previews are available at LordCrumps.com

The collection includes add ons that may require the defaults and are flagged as "Store Edition" hair. TS4 hairs range from base game to the most recent Stuff Pack (Home Chef Hustle). More hair may be included as add ons in the future.

I wouldn't convert some hair without their outfit counterparts. Please make sure to remove conflicts. The outfits include:

Most of these hairs exist already in the realm of the community as custom hairstyles. Any of my hair previously converted (shrink, servo, santa hat, etc) should be removed; they'll be included in this collection.

TOU: Please feel free to use these as a template for your defaults and recolor the hair as you'd prefer for download purposes. I only ask that you do not reupload these original files (breaking down to packs, gender, etc) as they are intertwined and may not work without their exclusive counterparts. Please do not make these hairs as customs for reupload.

There are a few hair/items that use cc: credit: nolansims, sforzinda, arethabee

This took about... 8 months to complete. I've (re)converted all of these myself to my current expectations of my conversion content. This was play tested thoroughly over the course of that time. If there are any issues, please don't hesitate to send an ask. The file size is massive even compressed, but to be honest it's pretty decent for 500+ hair.

~ EVENT SPOTLIGHT : Videotome Jam - "Waiting" ~

November 16th to December 1st 2024

Videotome Jam is a two-week-long game jam for games made in any of the Videotome engines with the optional theme of "Waiting".

What is Videotome?

Videotome is a series of small homebrew IF/VN engines made by Freya Campbell (communistsister), an indie game developer focusing on narrative games that are usually:

science fiction, horror, &/or romance

close to 100% LGBTQ characters

free/PWYW with low tech requirements

liable to make players keysmash due to feelings

Videotome was first released in April 2022 as a part of a game entry for the Domino Club collective. The initial idea for the engine was to make writing text-heavy games as hassle-free as possible, focusing not that much on the visual presentation format, but more on the writer's experience. It would allow writers to write in a notepad and then it would somehow grab the .txt file and parse the lines into an array, spitting them out one line at a time as a kinetic novel.

At the moment there are four engines available:

Videotome, for linear, no frills text / images / music;

Videotome ADV, adding a more conventional layout with ignorable choices and branching;

Super Videotome, for more fully featured and freeform image/canvas use;

Videotome Heartbreak, adding a stat raising dating sim & storylets structure to the above.

The story centers around Larry, a cab driver eking out a meagre existence in a dystopian near-future, until he unwittingly finds himself centre-stage in the midst of a technological revolution. — For the first time this multi-media project can be experienced in the form of an interactive novel. Larry Folger Volume I contains all the chapters of the ongoing narrative complete with music from the series.

Your feather, my wing is a game about getting close to the object of an experiment that your 'super-secret lab' leads! It's all about fun, fluff and cuddles. Nothing serious and if anyone from the "normal world" came to this organization, they'd be disappointed by the lack of pathos, mystery and seriousness. But do you care?

Nestled at the edge of an ancient forest, Ravenwood Hill looms like a shadowed sentinel against the pale moonlight. This is no ordinary place; whispers of its dark history echo through the trees, carried by the wailing wind. Trapping's 3t2 Modern Braids for PU-EU. The meshes are edited versions of @rented-space's meshes with transparency fixes, see detailed previews under the cut. Polycount: 4.2k.

There’s 3 sets of recolors: • regular solid ones in my Pooklet-Digi-Io palette for PU-EU:

• dip-dyed recolors for PU-EU (I used parts from the Pooklet unnatural textures that @dark-side-laegrinna did here):

All recolors including the dip-dyed ones are binned and familied except for the Naberiuses which are in the custom bin. I use Grenade both as a blond for toddlers-adults and as a grey for elders - if you don't want Grenade for elders, just delete the files that end with "_grenade_EUgrey".

Mesh edits

My edited meshes are compatible with other existing recolors (which you can find at the database), polycounts stay unchanged.

I went a bit overboard for no reason, the originals were fine. I just wanted to fix the slight clipping on the left side of the AF forehead, but then I thought I'd move the hairline further back on the sides and before I knew it I had edited all ages on both sexes in several small ways that I don't expect many people to view as significant improvements. Oh well.

🙋‍♀️Chapter 6 : The Sims 1 Families 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

🏘️ It has been a long work, but it's finally here : the possibility to play the TS1t2 Neighborhood with TS1t2 Characters ! 🎉

📑 Each family post will feature the entire family, including pets, with a custom household description (since the TS1 Games didn't have the possibility to have one) that you'll also find in the subhood families. Each post has pictures from many sources (Bodyshop, thumbnails, in-game, etc.) and will offer a download link for their own packaged file to install with The Sims 2 Clean Pack Installer by Mootilda. This will allow you to get some of the custom content needed to display it, like makeup used, and enable you to choose whether you want a single sim instead of the entire neighborhood. 👯

🗨️ On these posts, each character will have their own bio, as well as descriptions and links to the custom content used to create them. I use a lot of default replacements, but again, I will provide links so you can choose the best option for your game. I had to recolor a few elements myself, and I will provide you with these recolors and an additional link to their meshes. 🎮

🔗 I marked and linked the custom content that I used in BLUE, including default replacements. The description will propose you links to custom versions (non-defaults) when possible or to the Default Database item that have been replaced to help you chose whatever you like. However, you should understand that depending on your choices, the character may not appear the same way in your game. 🪞

👁️‍🗨️ I have a lot of CC, but even with default replacement, I made sure to use only the Maxis 4 basic skin tones and the 5 eye colors. It means that the sims will take the skin and eye of any default recolor YOU have (except for Vampire Vicki, who has a custom skin). This is to save you downloading and installing additional content, and allow you to integrate these sims into YOUR game. This also means that they will display differently in your game than what is shown in my pictures 👯

okay. 

you admit it.

you hate your job. you hate it! and that's okay, right? it's okay to absolutely despise walking into your job at eight in the morning with your steel tumbler filled to the brim with boiling hot tea. it's okay to hate the way you feel a sense of dread any time you hear footsteps nearing your little nook of an office. it's okay to dive under your desk the moment someone knocks on your door, and despite them opening it and seeing your tea still piping hot and your bag gently placed on the oak desk – they assume you're not in.

and you prefer it that way. you like hiding under your desk to eat your apple slices, and you even made friends with the cobweb spider in the corner of it. you like hiding your shoes and bag in a random cabinet drawer so they assume you're out sourcing materials. you love when your coworker, aeri uchinaga, swings by with invites to lunch so you won't have to speed to the cafeteria before any of the rookie detectives can bother you about sourcing information for them.

honestly, you weren't surprised to hear some of your fellow analysts call you the white whale of the department – you were the longest standing bookkeeper in the seventh precinct, and you knew the entire database by heart. you were rarely on board to help detectives solve their cases, often slipping just out of view and forcing them to ask around for help.

okay.

so maybe you don't actually hate your job. you hate the people in your department, except for your department director, hwang hyunjin, aeri and her boyfriend, yang jeongin. you hate the way that your coworkers relentlessly flirt with you, and they always manage to sour your mood the moment they compliment how pretty you look. luckily, once they realized you weren't interested in their little game of cat and mouse, they backed off.

until you showed up to the new year's eve party six months ago without a date, and shared a friendly hug with hyunjin, at midnight. it was enough to make the entire precinct wonder if you were single – and instead of focusing on their jobs, you could hear them whisper about you for the next two weeks. some of these people hadn't even known you were still working at the precinct, that's how uncommon it was to see you help anyone out – and how rare it was to see you at work events.

a lot assumed you thought you were too good to help them, that they weren't worth your time. they weren't entirely wrong – the rolling batches of detectives were more and more rude, and demanding in a way you didn't really like. so you made sure to seem as offstandish as possible, and no one got in your way. it was always a hard eight hours, but you always managed to leave the building without a single person speaking to you about sourcing anything for them. a skill, really. 

however, you were not as lucky this evening.

"y/n, baby." the flirtatious tone is subtle, but all-too-familiar. you groan inwardly, your back aching from being hunched over the stake of paper folders as you curse the precinct for not going digital. "what, jake?" you glance up through stands of stray hair, watching as he pouts playfully.

"no hello? how are you?" his smile doesn't dwindle as he leans his head on the doorframe, and you can feel the soft heat of his eyes on your face. sighing, you straighten your back, holding a stack of papers in your hands. you internally grimace as your lips immediately curve into a gentle smile at his own. "hello, jake. how are you?" "much better now that you're smiling." rolling your eyes, you beckon him forward with a nod of your head. he shuts the door behind him, taking a seat on the stool by your printer. your office had never been too homey, not in the last few years you'd been working here. you quickly learned to leave home at home and vice versa. "right, bro. what can i get for you?" "bro?!" he whines, dramatically clutching the left side of his chest as he kneels to the ground. "you wound me, babe. i've been struck, i'm seeing the light–" he flops on the floor, closing his eyes and sticking his tongue out. you give him a quizzical look, before nudging his ribcage with your pointed heel. he suppresses a squeal before trying to discreetly push your foot away. "jaeyun, get up and tell me what you want before i kick you out." you sigh at his theatrics, making him groan from the floor. "you know, it wouldn't kill you to be nicer. i am doing you a huge favor by being this dramatic, after all." he says pointedly, still laying on the dirty floor when you scoff. "right, as if being impassioned isn't second nature to you." "hey, when you've got it, flaunt it, baby!" he lays on his side, propping his head up with his hand as you pretend to stab your pen into your chest and drag it down. he grimaces, before looking up at you with a smile. your eyes narrow at this, and his smile only grows wider as your phone buzzes on the desk. "who's that? your boyfriend?" you can feel your eyes threatening to get stuck if you roll them any more, and you pick up your phone as jake finally stands from the floor, dusting his clothing. "jake-" "oh wait, i'm your boyfriend! what a lucky guy!" he leans over to peer at your phone screen, seeing aeri texting you about the next company dinner. you would normally attend them alone, but since you roped jake into being your fake boyfriend (with good reason!)…you didn't have much of a choice. "where are we going now? do i get to hold your hand?" his eyes scan the screen, making you snort as you push him back lightly. "as if you need an excuse to hold my hand, you literally grab it any chance you get! you'd keel over if i let you kiss me." you don't notice the soft eyes raking your face, but you don't get a chance to as he retorts, leaning against your desk as you shove your phone in your pocket.

"easy, kitty. by the end of this, you'll be begging me to kiss you." 

no matter how long you're around jake, you will always ask yourself why you chose him out of all the men in this precinct. you ask yourself how he managed to be at the right place at the right time, saving you out of yet another of your coworker's cringe-worthy attempts to sweep you off your feet. you're grateful, of course – but somehow, you realized only a few moments in that he would be your demise. no more white whaling, it seems.

Chat GPT doesn't experience the world as a human would, it doesn't do things besides being a ceaseless watcher.

Nothing Chat GPT says is "original", it just reveals information that it has previously gathered from the internet and its previous interactions. You ask it questions, but it won't really "think" to give you an answer, it will look for the answer inside its database.

6. Being known:

As I mentioned before, chat GPT has an incredible ability to analyse its users, making it capable of knowing information that wasn't explicitly said, in the same way Jonah Magnus can.
