🎶✨ Welcome to Mixtape Generations: The Legacy Challenge! ✨🎶

I'm so excited to share this legacy challenge I've been working on! Welcome to the Mixtape Generations. This legacy challenge encompasses all of my favourite gameplay objectives which I wanted to share with the Sims community! They may be ones you love too or ones you don't normally play.

This challenge is based upon Vibes & Fame. Each generation is a Mixtape, a genre with a story and a completely different vibe. The idea is that each generations sim, persona, styles and attitude is in the vibe of the Mixtape Genre.

Each Mixtape Generation has their traits, career, aspiration, relationship, babies and fame requirements. Then come the Rules. There are the Rules and then the Hidden Tracks which are rules that make the game trickier, weirder, wackier or more exciting.

I've created 10 visual graphics of the Mixtape Generations but here is a link for the text post which has more detailed storylines and information.

I'm also going to make Sims for each generation that will be available in the gallery or in a Patreon Collection.

Terms of Survival

You don’t begin with freedom. You begin with obedience.

The Basement Lineage is not built on chance. It’s built on control, tight, intentional, and absolute. These rules aren’t suggestions. They are the structure holding up your descent, the terms your Sim must agree to before they take their first breath in the dark.

They will tell you what cannot be done. What cannot be earned without cost. They are the locks on every door, the weight in every room, the reason no one escapes unchanged.

These ten rules govern the challenge from the very first day to the final generation. You may not bend them. You may not bypass them. And unless a phase explicitly lifts a restriction.

You are still bound by it.

No Cheats Without Sacrifice Money, needs, skills, and aspiration cheats are forbidden unless a phase unlocks them and they are paid for with a Simoleon sacrifice.

🕰️ Aging is On. Death is Permanent. Lifespan must be set to Long. If your founder fails or dies, the next heir continues where they left off, no restarts.

💰 Income Must Follow Phase Rules and Be Routed Through SNB The founder may only earn income using methods explicitly allowed by their current phase. ❌ No unauthorized gigs, crafting, sales, careers, or passive income. All earnings must be routed through SimNational Bank (SNB) accounts: -> College/House Fund: 40% -> Sacrifice Account: 30% -> Main Account: 30% (for spending only)

🧍‍♀️ The Founder is Fully Controlled The founder may not form relationships except through client-based or phase-permitted exchanges. Autonomy must remain OFF.

📚 Skills Are Locked by Phase No skill may be learned unless explicitly unlocked by your current phase. Passive skill gain also counts as a violation.

🛏️ Live Below. No Upstairs Access Until Earned. No sleeping, cooking, hygiene, or activity is allowed above ground. All furniture and objects must be earned and placed in the basement only. No new builds above ground unless permitted.

🚪 You May Not Leave the Lot The founder may never travel off-lot. The only allowed exception is stepping outside the front door to check mail.

🔞 WooHoo is Limited by Phase and Sacrifice Until clients are unlocked: - WooHoo is forbidden unless it clears a Sex Addict moodlet - Or a §1,000 Simoleon sacrifice is paid to the Sacrifice Account After clients are unlocked: - WooHoo is only allowed once per phase via SimDa > One Night Stand - That interaction may begin a client conversion ❌ Romance, dating, and emotional relationships remain forbidden unless unlocked

👤 Clients Must Be Controlled and Contained Clients must be acquired via TimTab ✅ May enter the basement only ❌ May not move in, stay overnight, or enter the main house ⚠️ If a client enters the upstairs: the founder must return to the basement for one full season

🧷 If the Phase Doesn’t Say Yes, It’s Still No All restrictions remain active unless explicitly lifted by a phase. If you're not sure whether something’s allowed, it isn’t.

☕ You’re Allowed to Enjoy the Descent This challenge is meant to be brutal, messy, and weirdly cathartic. Build with flair, play with intention, and twist your legacy into something uniquely yours. Power may cost everything, but you’re still allowed to have fun paying the price.

🧬 Legacy in Bloom

It started beneath the floorboards. One heir. One room. One legacy twisted in isolation, struggle, and sacrifice.

That was The Basement Lineage — a challenge I created to explore survival, secrecy, and power passed down in the dark. But that was only the beginning.

Now, the heir from the basement — the one who clawed their way up — is stepping into something far more chaotic.

🌟 The Hundred Baby Challenge. Because why settle for one cursed line when you can make a whole swarm of descendants with questionable genetics and inherited emotional trauma?

From there? Oh, we’re not done.

The children from the Hundred Baby challenge will splinter into their own custom legacy arcs. Some will ascend. Some will rot. Some will rewrite everything their bloodline was meant to be.

Think of it as:

🗺️ The Plan:

Phase 1: The Basement Lineage A survivalist legacy challenge built on secrets, sacrifice, and slow redemption. (Complete or ongoing depending on mood.)

Phase 2: The Hundred Baby Arc The heir is free — but fertility is a curse in itself. One matriarch. One mission. One hundred lives born from her.

Phase 3: The Fracture Each chosen child branches into a new challenge. ➤ New rules. New struggles. New legacies. ➤ Maybe one starts a cult. ➤ Maybe one builds an empire. ➤ Maybe one runs. Far.

🧶 Why?

Because I don’t just want to play Sims. I want to write it like it’s canon. I want to thread stories through saves. Tie arcs with ambition. Let them grow wild, like spores under glass. Let them bloom beneath the bellcap.

And also?

Because I’m a chaos gremlin and this is how I cope. One challenge at a time. One cursed baby at a time. One pixel at a time.

Ultimate Freeloader Challenge

I really enjoy short "Rags to Riches" save files, so I made another variation. This one explores the base game mechanic of living in other sims’ houses for free and borrowing their money using a high charisma skill.

It comes in two flavors: a good version and an evil one.

Both involve living in the luxury of someone else's mansion while your sim levels up their charisma. The Evil Sim also steals from their hosts and community lots. The Good Sim helps out around the house and earns money by taking care of the garden.

How to Play:

Use the "Sticky Fingers" aspiration and/or the Kleptomaniac trait to steal.

Get the "Always Welcome" reward trait so you can cook, sleep, and bathe in other Sims’ homes.

Plant seeds in the yard to start a garden, or take care of a community garden (the base game has 3 community gardens).

Backstories (optional, for extra fun!)

I can’t play without a backstory, so here are a few I came up with. You can roll a die to pick one at random:

Handy Sim – You make money by offering renovation services. Stay in people’s homes and upgrade everything you can. Use mods (3 options) or cheats to reduce upgrade part costs.

Bodyguard – You work out every day and live with your patron to “protect” them from fires and small talkers.

Painter – You’re hired to paint portraits for a week. Leave the finished artwork in their home when you’re done.

How to Win:

Complete one aspiration.

I recommend "Mansion Baron" or "Fabulously Wealthy." I use the "Lifetime Aspirations" mod to skip the middle steps and streamline the challenge.

General Rules

Music Genre Theme: Each generation must represent a different genre of music (e.g pop, country, rap, indie etc).

Theme Expression: The sim of each generation must:

Have outfits, hairstyles, eye colour, accessories inspired by their music theme

Decorate their home inspired by their music theme

Display daily actions inspired by their music theme

Money Cheats: You can use freerealestate for your first home but no money cheats are allowed after this 

General Cheats: No cheats for skills, degrees or relationships 

Rule Completions: Each generation must complete:

Their main goals

Hidden Track(s)

Relationship and babies requirement (unless no requirement is stated)

Fame projection (or lack thereof)

Career

Aspiration, must complete multiple if more than one are stated

Hidden Tracks: These are additional goals that make things a little spicier, tricker or crazier for your sim. You must complete all of them.

You’ve always dreamed of bright lights, loud crowds, and your name topping the charts. You start in a grimy San Myshuno apartment with nothing but ambition and a dream of being a pop icon. Fame won’t come easy, but you’ll earn every second of it. Your path to fame is paved with late-night gigs, street performances and clawing your way to the top. Eventually, you’ll get everything you’ve dreamt about, but never forget where you came from.

Now, you're trading guitar strings for tasting spoons and chasing stardom through five-star reviews. You're hot-headed, wildly passionate, and obsessed with perfection. You dream of a restaurant that becomes the place to eat, bold, experimental, and unforgettable. But when the heat rises, so do your emotions.

You always felt like your grandparents' restaurant never got the limelight it deserved. Since you were little, you’ve always wanted to restore it to its former glory. You grew up around chaos from ranches to repairs but always found joy in the kitchen, but no one believes your grandparents restaurant will ever be what it once was. As you grow your business, you dive into the world of baked goods and social media, sharing your sweet creations and quirky personality. What was a family flop becomes a rising star again.

Time to Move: Move to a random world halfway through your life

All Sugar, No Sleep: Any time your restaurant rating drops below 4 stars, you are not allowed to sleep until it goes back up (even if it takes a couple days). Coffee, passing out, and desperation are your new best friends.

Cuteness Core: Every room in your home must feature at least one pastel pink or floral item, and your wardrobe must include at least 3 outfits that are ultra-cute and baking-themed (think aprons, frills, cozy knits).

Sugar High: One week of every season, you must be in a baking frenzy: no other activities allowed but cooking, baking and social media. No socializing unless it's customers or fans.

Gen 5: Indie 

You’ve always seen the world a little differently, through the lens of your camera. Art is your life, and you believe that fame should come from passion, not privilege like your parent always told you. You live in a cosy, cluttered loft with coffee cups and camera gear everywhere. Success comes slowly, but steadily, and your work starts to turn heads. While chasing the perfect shot, you also chase… complicated. One muse inspires your best work, and your biggest secret.

🎯 Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy 

💫 Fame Path: Gain fame through selling your photography

In love with your Muse: You love photography so much, you find love and passion in everything you photograph. You meet a Sim that takes your breath away and you MUST photograph them. You have multiple shoots with this Sim and your muse and passion merge, you have an affair.

Adoption: You must adopt at least two children, but only toddlers or teenagers.

Gen 6 - Rock 

You grew up surrounded by creativity, but structure never suited you. You're wild, unpredictable, and magnetic. The bar is your stage, the gym your sanctuary. Love? Overrated. Commitment? Not your thing. You build your own legacy drinking, partying and being FIT. You lead a cult-like fitness group that worships you. You're notorious in the local scene, and honestly? You kinda love it.

🍸 Career: Mixologist and Fitness Club Leader 

🎯 Aspiration: Bodybuilder 

💫 Fame Path: A fitness cult following from social media and viral fitness videos

⭐ Fame Level: 3 star celebrity status or higher (B-Lister)

Baby Daddy/Momma/Pama: Each child you have must be with a different sim. You cannot have more than one child with the same sim. 

Fitness is Life: You must work out twice a day, every day. You’re addicted to the grind.

Fitness Cult: You must have a group meetup once per day. Your fitness club is very obsessed with you. Work out, drink, go partying, it’s up to you.

Gen 7 - Rap 

You grew up in a house of parties, alcohol, sweat and gym rats. Your parent was admired, attractive, and endlessly distracted, always chasing the next thrill. You learned early how to charm, fight, and fend for yourself. Fame didn’t raise you, but you’ll make sure it remembers you. You start in the streets, cause chaos, and build a reputation that turns heads… then you flip the script and show everyone just how far you’ve come.

🎤 Career: Entertainer - Comedy or Music 

🎯 Aspiration: Public Enemy and then Serial Romantic 

💫 Fame Path: Gain fame after completing aspiration 

⭐ Fame Level: 4 star celebrity status or higher (Proper Celebrity)

💒 Relationships: Must marry and divorce at least once. See Hidden Tracks.

👶 Babies: 2+ at least one from marriage and one from an affair.

Public Embarrassment: Once you hit 3 star celebrity, your Sim must have a public breakdown or embarrassment (pee themselves in public, a public brawl or caught having an affair). You have to build up any reputation lost. 

Prenup Panic: Marry a rich Sim, divorce them, and keep the house or at least §20,000.

Couch to Castle: Upgrade your home three times throughout the stages of your life. Start in a bad neighbourhood with little to no money. Upgrade to a modern bachelor pad once you start to turn your life around and end in a luxury home.

Gen 8 - House 

You grew up watching your parents work their way out of chaos into fame. Now, you want the lifestyle without the mess. You're ruthless, flashy, and born for real estate domination. Parties? Only if they're in your penthouse. Friends? Only if they pay rent. You don't just climb the ladder, you buy the building.

Realestate Domination: You want to make it to the top of the real estate sector and you don’t care how you get there. For one of your properties, evict a poor family in a rundown home. Flip their home into a luxury rental and keep the profits.

Attitude Problem: You tend to rub people the wrong way with your cockiness and climbing over people to get to the top. Sometimes, even your own family. You must have an enemy living in your household.

Gen 9 - Lo-fi 

After growing up surrounded by concrete, flashy parties and huge houses where you couldn’t even find your family playing marco polo. You craved something different. Quiet. Simple. Small. You build a life from the ground up (literally), living off your land and rejecting everything your ancestors valued. You find joy in soil-stained hands, handmade furniture, and the soft buzz of bees, not fame. You live small, but your heart? Huge.

Tiny Home with a Huge Heart: You live in a tiny home but you’ve always wanted many children. You must have at least 5 children and they all must have their own room/space. Think creatively to fit them all in!

No Modern Toys: Your children can only play with handmade, outdoor, or nature based toys (no tablets, video games, dollhouses, etc.)

Bee Whisperer: You must have at least 3 working beehives at all times and maintain excellent relationships with the bees. If bees attack you, you must spend a day recovering: no gardening or crafting allowed.

Gentle Soul: No harm is allowed to come to any animals under your care. If one dies unnaturally, you must mourn for 3 days and do no work.

Gen 10 - Binaural Beats

After generations of fame, wealth, and turmoil, you’ve seen firsthand the toll it takes. You watched your family’s ups and downs, their rise and fall in the limelight, and felt that something was missing. Maybe pieces of each one would make the perfect life. Something centered around wellness, peace, and healing. You choose a life of balance. Fame is wonderful but not when it’s your only focus in life. You want to focus on physical and mental health, with the goal of helping others find the same peace. You open a wellness or yoga studio to help others achieve what you’ve finally found: a life of balance. You want to build fame and reputation based on inner strength, self-love, and community.

Have at least 5 clients for your wellness studio and aim to help them achieve their wellness goals. Achieve Friend level relationship with each one + Hidden Track.

Once per week, you must record and post a wellness-related video

Shadow Work: One of your children must have a negative trait that reflects unresolved generational trauma (e.g. Jealous, Hot-Headed, or Noncommittal). You must actively help them overcome it with positive influence (mentor, influence emotion, wellness socials, etc.)

Burnout Spiral: If your Sim overworks or hits Very Tense, they must take a 3-day wellness sabbatical: no work, no phone, just meditating and yoga.

Mirror Moment: You must host a “Family Reflection Night” at least once where you invite every living family member over for a calm dinner. Try to mend any broken relationships amongst family.

Holistic Living: Your Sim may not use any "Quick Meals" or pre-made food. All food must be cooked fresh

Five Clients, Five Paths: Each of your 5 core clients must represent a different Sims trait combo (e.g., Angry sim, Sad sim, Materialistic sim, etc.). Your job is to help each one grow through friendship, teaching, and studio visits.
