Sincerely Nude was founded by London based Michelle Asare in 2018. “I noticed that I could never find any nude clothing close to my skin tone whenever I went shopping or even browsing online. This realisation became somewhat of frustration as I noticed it everywhere I went. I’ve always loved fashion and it felt dear to my heart to be part of the change I wanted to see in the world. From a discussion to fruition. Sincerely Nude wants to empower women to feel beautiful and sexy in their skin tone no matter what shade or size.

Competitor Research

Whilst researching into competitors, I came across this brand 'sincerelynude' whose values I feel someqhat align with ours. They are all about self love and confidence and comfort. Their USP is skin coloured nipple tape and underwear for all skin colours, not just light skin. I think this is extremely important and something that more brands need to consider. For a long time, black people have struggled to find 'skin coloured tights' and other items of clothing as they have not been valued in the fashion industry or any other part of society really. I think with the rise of technology and stories about injustice, police brutality, and racism being shared all over social media, this has lead to more people educating themselves on the issues black people face every day. This has impacted the fashion and beauty industry and caused brands to consider skin colour a lot more when creating their products.

At the start of this module I sent Laura some pictures from this brand to put into our moodboard which I then used as inspiration when designing pieces for our brand.
