I was trying to adapt this keychain design as a digital wallpaper, but couldn't really find a composition I liked that would work across most devices... (Not without more fucks to give, anyway.) But I did end up with this idea that I thought at least worked as a standalone piece.

Bomberman 64 my beloved. Sirius was one of the first characters I ever got attached to (spoilers for a videogame from 1997, he fucking betrays you lmao) so I started as I meant to go on I guess.
I had this whole like fucked up tragic backstory for why him and Altair were beefing (i think it took some elements from the sequel in that the omni cube was some kind of fucked up wish granting chaos artifact) and I can't remember half of it, maybe I'll draw up what I remember sometime.
Assorted doodles and white has a design for.. i guess what im calling the monster au? Mythos au? Idfk its snake and bird au in my mind i never thought to name or categorize it. But since half the dastardlies and white have designs for it i mightaswell name it.
My first keychain design, featuring a certain stellar traitor from Bomberman 64! (Also thinking about creating a sticker version that potentially nixes the speech bubble.)
I'm definitely getting a few of these made just for myself and some bomberbuddies, but I plan to have some for sale on Ko-Fi too. Sound off in the replies (or tags) if you'd be interested in purchasing one, and follow me on Ko-Fi to be the first to know when they become available!
(Before anyone asks: yes, I want to make all teh bombermerch if time, energy, and money will allow me to. I've got no shortage of ideas in that regard, but what might y'all want to throw money at?)
More pre-game stuff, mostly based around this dialogue:
So, you want to know something about me? Well…my home planet was destroyed by Altair. I fought him myself, but I was unable to even scratch - let alone defeat - him. In the end, he killed my brother and sister. Since then, I've been searching for a hero who could defeat him, and return peace to the universe. That is why I'm here… Although this reason may be troubling you, my reason for helping you is not an honorable one. I'm in this for revenge!
and assuming there's some kind of truth to it but
- it's been tweaked to motivate Bomberman towards blowing up Altair
- it wasn't Altair that destroyed his home planet/killed his family but the previous owner of the Omni Cube before Sirius, which was where Sirius got the cube from in the first place.
The Omni Cube is a chaos artifact that absorbs power, gives it to the wielder, and also needs to be constantly fed so wielders are servants as much as they are warlords. (mumbles something about it being an extra conduit to feed Sthertoth etc)
Altair is just Sirius' well-meaning friend/possible crush/It's Complicated who didn't like that Sirius killed the guy who wiped out his entire planet and All He Got Was This Stupid Cube You Sell Your Soul To so he ended up taking advantage of Sirius letting his guard down like 2% around him to steal it and run so he could 'fix it'.
Sirius is naturally extremely unhappy about it, both because that was literally replacing his heart asshole and also because the Omni Cube is an artifact of pure unrelenting chaos, only accepts one master, and will eat well-meaning wielders alive for fun. Which means Altair's good intentions will get all twisted out of shape and it will eat him alive and make him into a different, unrecognisable person, and also the cube is drawing the both of them together now into an inevitable deathmatch so that the strongest will prevail and become its 'true' master.
So naturally Sirius' response is to hunt Altair down and kill him so he can retake the burden and spare his friend both the pain of being irreversibly changed and the messiness of having to kill Sirius, since Altair clearly couldn't do it right the first time. He's so normal about this you guys
Disclaimer that none of this backstory is Actually For Real in Bomberman 64, a game with an extremely barebones story at best and a plot twist reward for collecting all the little bonus challenge collectibles to keep you going, it's just headcanon stuff to make it more fucked up and fun for me.
