eta the maugean skate is extremely endangered and facing immediate extinction and the government is the damn fucking liberals and they will not do anything about it. idk what any random people from across the world can do about it but im screaming crying sobbing begging for help
About a week ago I found some roller skates sitting abandoned next to a trash can at the park where I work. I left them out there for a day to see if someone would come get them, but when there was rain in the forecast, I brought them home.
They were in darn good shape and even looked like they had fairly new wheels. Someone apparently liked them enough to break them in, replace the wheels at least once, and adorn them with large, clownish jingle bell pom-poms. Most baffling of all: they were exactly my size.
Now, I barely know how to roller skate. My friends and I went to a popup rink a handful of times over the winter and they skated circles around me while I fell on my ass learning how to turn and stop. But I did have a good time, and we've been meaning to go again, and I can't resist the idea of a fun project. This week I've had to stay home sick from work, and yesterday I felt okay enough to get started on these.
I think when I add some neon pink laces they'll really come together.
Michael on the Zoe Ball Show this morning talking about David at the BAFTAs and I am dying. Notable excerpt:
ZB: "Ah, Michael Sheen, must say, well done to your mate DT at the BAFTAs."
Michael: "Ohh, he did good. The boy did good!"
ZB: "He did so good!"
Michael: "And he looks good in a kilt as well, doesn't he?"
So...ten seconds into Michael's appearance on the show and David comes up (on St. David's Day, no less). And apropos of absolutely nothing, Michael brings up David looking good in that kilt. Unprompted. For no reason whatsoever. I need to lie down...
Some photos of other stuff we have been doing recently! we joined a 1800 dancing class so we can assist a regency ball we were invited to in may at a beautiful palace! it is so fun 🥰 then we went to the Romanticism museum with everyone and I took photos of them all dressed up! we also worked on our ice skating skills with limited success
