The 5 Non Toxic Items That Saved My Skin
My love of non toxic beauty came from two different experiences. One of them being a professional makeup artist for 7 years in London, and NYC. The second being that I have the most sensitive skin, that has a habit of breaking out in hives.
It wasn’t until I started educating myself on ingredients and what certain brands pump into their products, did I learn how important what I put on my skin was. I basically had to learn the hard way, which is why I wanted to start this blog and teach others how ugly the beauty industry is.
Now before anyone gets discouraged, let me assure you that there are in fact gorgeous cosmetics that are good for your skin! I just want to show people the good formulas, and teach them about the nasty ones.
The sad truth is that most major brands have money they can pump into ads and make consumers ignorant, or simply not care. If only they could pump those dollars into quality formulas. This is a topic I can go on and on about, but for now I shall share my favorite top 5 products.
1: Organic Oil
Now before anyone freaks out or rolls their eyes allow me to explain. I love oil for cleansing as well as moisturizing. I will make sure to do a post in the future about what oil is best for YOUR skin. And no coconut oil is not my favorite. It’s actually my least…
I love using a thin oil like grapeseed, or rosehip on dry skin to deep clean my pores. Afterwards I go in with my regular water based gel cleanser.
Double cleansing has made a huge difference in cleaning out my blocked pores.
2: Organic Deodorant or Non Toxic
This was a HUGE one for me! I get bloody armpits, tmi I know, from anything with aluminum OR baking soda. The one i’m currently using is Kora Organics. It works rather well for me, however, I think the essential oils are still slightly irritating for my skin. So any suggestions would be welcomed!
3: A Hydrating Essence/Serum
My holy grail is Is tree Hyaluronic Acid Toner. Now this is not organic, but it is non toxic and EWG approved! This has saved my skin for almost a year now. For the longest time I did not know that skin needed water based hydration BEFORE moisturizers or oil based products. I love layering this and just drenching my skin in it. No irritating ingredients in this what soever!
4: A good Organic/Non Toxic Exfoliant
Let me be clear, sugar or salt, or any physical scrub, is HORRIBLE for your face! On the body it can work, but it is way to harsh on the delicate skin of the face! In my experience lactic acid, and this mask from CHIKYU is the best. I am beyond OBSESSED with the smell of this mask. It literally smells beyond delicious, and it makes my skin as soft as butter. Please make sure to use sunscreen during the day when you use a chemical exfoliant! BTW this one from CHIKYU uses fruit acids and enzymes to make skin smoother!
5: Body Wash that actually hydrates…
O lordy, don’t get me started. So many major brands put the most disgusting ingredients in shampoo and body wash. Car wax anyone? No thank you! Also I rather not slather alcohol all over my body when my skin is already dry and beyond itchy. This body wash from BASD smells divine and is so creamy and luxurious. It has organic aloe, green tea, and essential oils to heal and hydrate the skin!
And that concludes my 5 favorite non toxic beauty items! At least for right now, and what I think will help a large number of people!
I had a lot more fun writing this than I thought! Please feel free to leave your favorite products in the comments. And if you found this article fun or helpful please share on any or all of your social media platforms!
Lots of love
Jaegger

Skincare Routine (Night Edition)
Tumblr media
Well hellooooooo! So as all you know, recently i posted my skincare routine on instagram stories and many of you wanted to know more about the products that i used, what it does to my skin and etc. So i thought instead of doing another batch of stories on it, why not i buat one post khas for it so that if you guys nak refer balik in the future senang kan?
[ Disclaimer : I am no beauty guru or skin care guru or whatsoever, i’m just a girl tryna help another girl, this is all purely based on my experience wearing the product itself and also a tad bit of research on Google, yes Google, so u guys can also Google for further more infos okies? ;) ]
So basically in this post i akan explain about the serums and acids yang i guna in my skincare regime. All this products yang i guna might work wonders on my skin but might not on yours, but no worries, we learn together gether okay what’s good for our skin and what’s not.
Before we start with all the acids and serums, we’ll start with the Toner first hokayh.
Tumblr media
Tea Tree Water (Lush Cosmetics)
I am currently using the Tea Tree Water by Lush as my toner. I use this toner to actually get rid off the excess dirt and traces of make up yang probably still ada lagi eventho dah buat double cleansing, you know, just in case.
The good thing about the tree water is that it keeps your skin clean and refreshing! besides, it also has an antibacterial, anti-fungal and also anti-microbial factor which keeps away bacteria from forming spots on our face.
Specifically for this product from Lush, it contains more than just tea tree water. It also contains Grapefruit water and also Juniperberry water!
And what does those water do to our skin??
Grapefruit water - rich in vitamins & lightly astringent on skin
Juniperberry water - antiseptic & helps keep skin clean & clear
Tumblr media
Bio Essence Bio Gold 24k Gold Water
I really don’t have anything much to say about this one, i think this one is similar to the beauty water and etc. but what i’m pretty much sure is that this thing, it works! Before i start guna all the serums and acids, this was like the first product i ever tried after cleanser, dulu toner pun i tak boleh guna but after i guna this for few months, i saw a lot of differences on my skin making me want to add more products to my face hahah basically this is like an alternative to the pricey essence ( the Rose Gold one pun sangat okay, i use that one actually but finished it already but then drugstore near my place doesnt have that one in stock *nangis*)
Tumblr media
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
NOW ITS TIME FOR SERUMS!!! YEAY!
so what is hyaluronic acid? the name sounds scary doesn’t it? haha basically hyaluronic acid ni is something that is naturally found in our skin. Kulit kita sebenarnya dah memang ada dah pun hyaluronic acid ni. Apa function dia? Is it important? yes it is, it helps in maintaining skin hydration or in other words it helps in making our skin stay hydrated, plump and healthy, and hydrated skin means = GLOWING SKIN (a must!)
Hyaluronic acid also helps in anti-aging, and the best part is that it works on any skin type! tak kisahlah you oily skin ke or dry skin or even combination, it will work on your skin!
Untuk this one specifically, it contains vitamin B5 which is also a natural hydrator (humectant) which stabilizes our skin barrier by increasing the amount of water that our skin holds.
Best part, it also works as an anti-aging!  (woaaah, dua-dua ingredients works as an anti-aging ni, looks like our face wont age lah kan, stay young always ;p)
Vitamin B5 also helps with chronic skin conditions varies from minor skin irritation to major scar damage. It also has anti inflammatory benefits for discomforts skin (eczema)
Does it work on my skin? YES, wonderfully! It does what it claims to do and you can definitely feel that your skin sangat hydrated and fresh.
Tumblr media
The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%
Moving on to this lotion like product, what is azelaic acid anyways? Azelaic acid ni if based on Deciem’s punya web, it is mainly found in grains (barley, wheat and rye), it is a dicarboxylic acid that works on skin as a gentle leave on exfoliant yang akan help in unclogging the pores and refines skin surface. It also helps in brightening the face (well that’s what exfoliants do), reduce blemishes, ease acne prone skin and can also decrease the production of keratin (which is the main key in formation of acne)
Been using this for almost a year now, but i pernah stop pakai sbb i thought it doesnt do much on my skin, but bila i stop, acne started to form again dkt muka i, small bumps started to appear so i macam panic lah, and that is when i realized, all this time, the one that helps in reducing formation of acne is actually this thing because i came across an article yg bagitahu azelaid acid ni reduce formation of acne so i macam ya Allah i have to repurchase it ASAP, and so i did and i dont regret it and now i cant live without it !!!
Tumblr media
The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
This is one of the oils that i swear by, seriously (the other one is the Argan Oil)
A lot of people tak tahu yang by incorporating essential oils into your beauty regime can make quite a difference on your skin. ( but of course they’re a few oils that can irritates your skin, you just gotta choose which one suits you aite)
Essentials oils in general can help prevents wrinkles, protect your skin from toxins and other bad stuffs, helps in shrinking large pores, calm down rashes and also great for banishing zits!
So what so good about Rose hip seed oil anyways?
This particular essential oils is full with vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids. While this oil helps in correcting dark spots, it also helps in hydrating dry skin and itchy skin and also reducing scars and fine lines.
It helps in making my skin stay glowy and healthy and really, the perfect product to end the routine!
I guess that is it, i had fun writing this post and doing research on all this product (even though i’m currently in the middle of an internship) hahah but yeah, a girl gotta do what a girl gotta do which is help other girls! (and boys) hope you guys find this beneficial and drop me a dm  if you have any questions!
Ttyl xx

Skincare Essentials
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Recently my skincare and my skin has becoming increasingly important to me. I have a newfound interest in how I take care of my skin and what products I apply onto it. I believe that it is better to spend more money on skincare than makeup because if your skin looks good than any brand of makeup high street or high end will look good. Having said that I have also managed to find some cheaper skincare options from Superdrug's own skincare range that are really, really good. For skincare my go to brands are The Body Shop, Superdrug skincare, Simple and La Roche Posay. None of which are particularly expensive.
I also relgiously follow my skincare routine which includes cleansing my skin once in the morning and twice at night with The Body Shop's Vitamin E Cream Cleanser. I prefer to use a cream cleanser instead of a foaming one because it is more gentle on my skin and if you do want to double cleanse it is less harsh and does not dry out the skin. Some other cleansers that I have used and also loved are the "This Works clean skin gentle cleaser" which includes Rosehip oil and the "Yes To Tomatoes Daily Clarifying Cleanser" which helped to clear up my blemished and is really great for combination skin. I do not use a toner as I find it is not really necessary for me but nevertheless some that I have tested that I liked were The Body Shop Tea Tree Toner or Simple's Kind to Skin Toner. The Tea Tree toner from the Body Shop is great for more oily skin as it mattifies and minimises the appearance of pores whilst helping to clear up blemishes, whereas the Simple toner is more gentle on the skin and works better for more sensitive skin.
Twice a week I also use a face mask, I usually just have one on the go at a time as I find they are more expensive and it also means I experience the full benefits of the mask. One I recently finished that was truly amazing was the Neal's Yard Remedies White Tea Enriching Facial Mask. This literally left my skin glowing after I used it, people would comment that my skin looked really glowy usually the day after I had used it. It is definitely one of my favourites however, I have not re-purchased it due to that fact that it is quite expensive and I want to keep trying out new masks. Another one I have been trying out is the L'oreal Pure Clay Blemish Rescue Face Mask which has been really cleairng up my skin.
Serums and essential oils are another part of my skincare as often they penetrate the deeper layers of the skin. I use a salicylic acid oil to exfoliate and help clear up my skin if I'm having any breakouts. My go-to is The Ordinary's Salicylic Acid 2% Solution as it's sooo cheap, less than £5! If I have any big spots (ugh) I like to use The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil, this helps to dry out the spot quickly meaning that I am not tempted to squeeze it which as well as being a bit gross leaves a scar. I prefer to use exfoliating acids instead of actual abrasive exfoliators due to the fact they are less harsh and generally more effective, glycolic acid is another great exfoliator to use as it also works deeper into the skin, my favourite glycolic acid based product to use at the moment is the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Overnight Peel and I have had amazing results from it and my skin looks so much brighter and more glowing.
Another one of my favourite things to use in my skincare routine is my Magnitone Barefaced! facial cleansing brush. This brush cleans so deep into my pores due to the fact that it has two different cleansing modes: sonic oscillations and pulsed vibrations. The sonic oscillations is the basic cleansing motion that you use with a cleansing to give your skin a deep clean. You then use the pulsed vibrations to tone and tighten the pores. I also really love it because it comes in three different colours: pink, blue and yellow (I have the pink) and the brushed are interchangable so you can order different brush heads depending on your skincare needs. The Active Clean brush head comes included with the facial cleansing brush but then I also have the pore perfection because I have been breaking out quite a bit recently due to stress. This sounds like I have been sponsered but I promise I'm not (lol like that would ever happen) I just love, love, love this cleansing brush.
The last part of my skincare essentials are moisturisers. I change my facial and body moisturiser quite a bit, sometimes because I just hate the mosturiser I have been using or I want to try new ones out. One of my recent favourites that I have just finished using up is the Retinol Moisturiser for Face by Radha Beauty. This cream does include retinol so is great for anti-aging (I'm 18 so I didn't buy it for that reason) but the main reason that I bought this cream is because it clears up the complexion and minimises pores. I would advise not using this cream everyday because it makes the skin more sensitive to UV rays so I would use it every other day especially if you have younger skin. I was really suprised by this cream because it was so cheap but it gave me such good results and my skin looked much clearer and brighter. Although usually I don't like to use a moisturiser that doesn't include and SPF of at least 15 so my favourite moisturiser with SPF in it is the Superdrug Vitamin E Moisturising Cream which is really high quality but also very inexpensive. For when I have dry lips I love the lip therapy Vaseline pots, my favourite being the rose and almond oil one because it gives your lips more of a pink tint and for body moisturiser I am currently using The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter which is sooooo moisturising because I have really dry skin on my body, it also smells amazing and leaves my skin feeling really soft.
