Then he grabs the end of the metal bat and tugs, hard. Quite sharply. Since you're still gripping it, you stumble forward, almost into his chest. Your nose brushes his collar as he pushes your shoulder forward, guiding the bat above your head.

Your back is to his chest now, and Seungmin leans down to align his eyesight with yours, levelling his view.

"See that?" He says quietly. He raises a hand, the one not occupied with maintaining your grip on the bat, and points to somewhere in the sky. "Aim there."

You scoff. "I can't hit that high."

Seungmin exhales, a puff of breath stirring the hair by your ear. "You're not trying to hit high. You're trying to hit far. And when you swing, level your grip as the bat comes down. More stable that way."

He says this as his hand places itself over yours, squeezing lightly to firm your grip on the bat. He shifts your hand a little lower and then points again to the sky.

"Right there, okay?"

"Okay," you whisper. He's standing so close.

You level your grip just a tiny bit under Seungmin's hand, suddenly afraid he might take it away from its current position on top of yours, but he doesn't. His hand remains there, oddly comforting. You adjust your fingers a little more, and the bat begins to feel a lot more steady under your shared palms.

"Good," he murmurs. "Just like that."

Seungmin steps back suddenly, backing up a few paces and positioning himself where he can't possibly be hit by the bat if you let go. You glance at him and then at the ball, blinking. He must have put another on the stand while you were busy huffing at his earlier blatancy.

You exhale and then swing, adjusting your hands as the bat comes down. To your tremendous surprise, the ball knocks off the stand with a cling and goes flying into the sky, disappearing. It comes down to the earth somewhere just beyond the fence.

You drop the bat and gape at Seungmin in disbelief.

He looks very self-satisfied; his usual I-told-you-so look is painting the expanse of his face, but there's something warm about it. Like he's proud. Knowing him, he's probably just glad you won't disadvantage the team in future games with your haphazard batting, but you appreciate it all the same.

He stares back for a few seconds, his blue team jersey fluttering in the wind. Yours does the same, but it's disheveled and tucked at the waist where you've been swinging and pitching.

Neither of you move. Then seemingly regaining his bearings, Seungmin flits his gaze away and waves a dismissive hand, his snarky demeanour returning.

"Finally," he drawls sarcastically, though it's a tiny bit less confident than before. "You learned how to swing a bat properly. Congratulations."

You offer a kind middle finger in response, and a sudden, unexpected grin bubbles out of you, a slight laugh escaping your mouth. Seungmin graces you with the tiniest presence of a smile. He checks his watch before waving you off.

"Practice tomorrow, don't forget." He calls bluntly over his shoulder, walking past you and off the pitch. Most likely heading to his dorm room.

You nod and pick up the bat, intending to get a couple more hits in before you pack up for the night. A blush tints your cheeks, your hands buzzing from the brief contact. You feel all floaty and optimistic.

Back in the safety of his own dorm room, Seungmin stands facing himself in the mirror, feeling the exact same way.

any date fulfills chan's need to spend time with you but the perfect date, to him, is a day spent at the beach. you are no stranger to chan's love for the sea so, you often offer to travel over to the coast in order to spend some time together, enjoy the scenery and walk barefoot in the water. chan would shine the brightest in those moments, especially when you join him in the water to be silly together. those days at the beach are exhausting but, chan's smile is worth every bit of fatigue you feel the day after.

minho likes to spend quality time over a good meal, which is why he really enjoys eating out with you. he would let you pick the restaurant or menu and then have the best time ever. it's not really about the food but more about sharing a moment together, eating off of each other's plates and sharing dessert. he likes the way you pout when you realize you do not enjoy the food you insisted to choose eventhough he told you you would not like it. but minho also loves switching dishes and letting you eat what he picked specifically for you in the first place.

if you were to ask him what he thinks is a perfect date, changbin would reply that any date with you is what comes the closest to being perfect. but if he had to choose, he would say that he enjoys it the most when you go out to grab a drink until late in the night.

changbin likes laidback dates outside. sitting at a bar, with a cocktail or any kind of soda just to talk about anything that comes to your mind is his definition of a perfect moment spent with you. he finds that it is in those special instances that he connects with you best, when you bask in his own presence and let yourself flow with the conversation.

now this one might be on the nose but hyunjin absolutely adores dates at the museum. he loves walking around in a quiet space all while admiring works from his favorite artists. he enjoys the intimacy of holding conversations in hushed voices and looking at your face when deep in thought in front of an artist's work. hyunjin would tell you everything he knows about the pieces he is familiar with and answer all the questions you might have about them. he is the type to bring both his camera and sketchbook along with him and he might end up drawing a quick sketch of you admiring a beautiful picture if the opportunity to shows itself.

han ( 한 )

he's a nervous guy. han would be stressing about an upcoming date days ( if not weeks ) before it happened—getting all up in his own head and imagining the worst case scenarios until it was time to go. one way for him to feel less anxious about it and fully enjoy himself is to take you to the movies. what jisung likes most about dates at the cinema is that he does not have to stress about conversation starters. once the movie is over, he knows you will be talking about it and have a good time whether it was a good or bad watch.

now this guy loves an over the top date. he absolutely adores to go on adventures with you, which is why he enjoys sightseeing dates! he would brainstorm with you what places, what views, you have been wanting to see and he will make it happen on that next date you guys have planned. felix loves it from the booking of train tickets to the ride home and the way your head falls on his shoulder when you doze off.

• until the constant dizziness and fever dreams — not necessarily nightmares, just weird af — hit

• then he’s just so out of it

• has trouble sleeping because he overheats and then gets cold, so he tosses and turns a lot and makes sad noises in his sleep. cute but 🥺

• he will latch onto anyone’s arm while walking or sitting because he’s constantly lightheaded

• at some point he could get nauseous from everything spinning around, but it’s never enough to make him throw up

• fevers make him feel too warm all the time, but if he takes off his hoodie, he’ll start shivering and the trembling makes body aches worse, so he just keeps it on

• his head hurts a lot. it mixes with the uncomfortable heat waves, the lack of sleep and the dizzy waves and it’s really bad. going-still-in-his-seat-staring-at-the-floor-scared-to-move-or-he’ll-cry kind of bad.

• if he’s really deep into the fever, all that stuff might make him cry

• he won’t remember half of what happens. ‘i did what? lol, be grateful i didn’t pass out on you’.

• fever reducers don't help much for his high-fevers, but a cool shower or bath does.

• doesn’t like ice packs because they’re wet and uncomfortable 

STOMACH BUG / PAIN

• his stomach hurts randomly, sometimes for a few days, but it’s not usually with a bug

• might be from coffee, dehydration, a random food… who knows.

• rarely nauseous but when his stomach hurts it’s bad

• most times he can push through it if needed

→ though if the pain is really bad, he gets shaky and finds it hard to sit or stand straight 

• laying down helps, so the members will find him curled up on his bed hating the world or sulking

• upon someone intruding in his room, he’ll either flip them off or wordlessly stare as a demand to come closer

• loves heating pads and hot water bottles unless he has a fever

• then he’ll just be out of it and make the members be in charge of fixing him, which they never complain about. he’s cute anyway.

• doesn’t mind throwing up. if he has to he will, that’s the mindset

• plus he doesn’t get nauseous until he actually has to be sick, so it’s really not a big deal. 

• he’d rather be alone during it unless the pain is bad or he’s feverish. then he likes having someone to hold him up and keep his hair out of his face

• doesn’t mind having someone’s hand on his stomach, whether it’s holding a heating pad or just there, it’s nice. 

• he’ll probably smirk and go ‘want an excuse to touch my body so bad, hm?’ unless the pain is really bothering him

• then he might just grab their hand and put it where it hurts. if it fixes the problem he’s cool with it.

• ‘be nice to me or i’ll aim for your socks next time i throw up’

COLD

• gets mild colds often (canon)

• very sniffly and coughs a lot, though he doesn’t get badly congested like chan 

• his colds are usually accompanied by a low-grade fever that makes his head hurt and makes him tired so it does kinda suck 

• almost always pushes through it because realistically it’s not that bad

• but he won’t hesitate to sleep or rest after he is done with the schedule

• pops a pill here and there to keep the fever and headache at bay, but that’s all 

• truly, just let him sleep. in his bed, on someone… who cares.

FLU

• with the flu he’s a bit more of a mess

• has a high fever that turns him into a spaced out zombie and he’s just really out of it

• and gets a bad chest cough that actually freaks him out, so he can’t lay flat on the bed the way he likes and that’s awful because he can’t sleep

• really restless at night 

• with the mix of high fever, headache, runny nose, cough, no sleep and dizziness he gets emotional

• might cry before tiring himself out and falling asleep, but at least he sleeps that way.

• will for sure laugh at himself once he’s better because he’ll again forget most of the stuff he did

CARETAKER

• lovely, my favourite 

• will tease the sickie unless they’re emotional, and has accidentally made the members cry more than once which he’s always surprised at

• ’are you crying- i didn’t even say anything’ but still wipes their tears tenderly. ‘shh, i didn’t mean it’

• pet names. sweet or weird, depending on the situation. jagi, baby, princess, virus dispenser. all cute stuff.

• level-headed, doesn’t freak out as long as no one’s actively dying

• can read han and chan like open books, and keeps an special eye out for the leader
