interviews make me nauseous.

when i was a kid, i would have a script to recite every time i received questions about my family. now, i don’t have that privilege. i don’t need it anymore.

it’s like humans are animals now. in books of our history, we were always the leaders. now we’re next to nothing in this world.

i wish that were the case for me.

i mean everything here. people rely on me. i’ve saved so many people. but i can’t say what i’ve done. i can’t tell people. not in interviews. not on paper. not anywhere.

i am alone, at the top of the food chain, and all i can do is pretend like i’m the prey.

i don’t understand why i was chosen for this life. every day i am reminded of those who are beneath me. i want to crawl into their skin and breathe in their air. i am envious of those who feel like they have connections with others. i’m a shell of a person sitting on a throne of bones. the fish are my only friends.

if i were to fall into a river and never resurface, who will take my place? will anyone pass judgement onto others on my behalf? there is no point in me staying on this planet. i already have everything anyone would ever want. i want to restart. i want to live a normal life. let me fall into that river and cross to the other side.

nobody will be watching me anymore.
