his amber eyes go wide as he pats his chest before opening the left side of his waistcoat and reaching inside the empty pocket. “ah, again?” he mumbles, standing from his desk to make his way towards the front of the house as tao follows.

his expression softens the moment he lays eyes on you. “oh, hello darling.” he smiles warmly, closing the distance between you just as naturally as it is for him to breathe. “thank you so much for delivering my wallet. i’m so sorry to have troubled you,” he frets before leaning down to kiss your cheek.

you think for a moment then lift your left hand to enter the fact that you’re wearing a wedding band into evidence. but hu tao’s scrutinizing gaze shifts to zhongli’s hand to find his fingers devoid of any rings, save for the ones on his thumbs.

“aha! mr. zhongli isn’t wearing a wedding ring!” she points out, unconvinced.

“oh! i nearly forgot!” you exclaim, unclasping your change purse before fishing out your husband’s wedding band. “you left this on your nightstand as well, dear.”

“aha! so that’s where it was!” zhongli slips his ring onto his gloved finger where, much to hu tao’s chagrin, it fits perfectly. “what would i do without you, my love?”

“probably lose your head and forget to put on clothes,” you tease, wrapping your hands behind his neck. “not that i have any complaints about seeing you naked…” zhongli chuckles lowly as he leans in closer, folding his arms around the small of your back to pull you in before placing a gentle, yet deliberate kiss on your lips.

the director's paled expression turns bright red as she stares in shock and awe, hardly believing her own eyes. having been subjected to the intimate display of affection for long enough, she shields her eyes and clears her throat dramatically. “okay! i believe you! please stop now!”

you and your husband part, him straightening his tie while you smooth your skirt in an effort to compose yourselves.

First and most sentimental/meaningful: If anyone doesn't know the ace ~lore~ so to speak, a lot of asexuals will wear a black ring on the middle finger of their right hand and aromantics will sometimes wear a white ring on the middle finger of their left hand... and then the Ace of various suits in a deck are sometimes used for different identities on the spectrum. I want to take all of the above and merge them into finger tattoos and get the Ace of Spades symbol on both of my middle fingers.

I'm also a nerd and want to get some star wars droid tattoos... my beloved R2D2 but also a gonk droid. lovingly referred to by me as the Trash Can droid. because I love trash and I need people to know apparently.

I also really love lighthouses and would like a tattoo of a lighthouse but specifically I want one in done in this kind of style where the tattoo is within a geometric diamond or triangle shape but there's not actual edges to the design (am I describing this right? idk this is why I'm including pictures LOL):

I need a book tattoo. a stack of books, a book open with stuff coming out of it. I don't even know what kind yet - I just know that so much of my life revolves around books and so I want a tattoo of it.

There's another one that I really wanna get that combines some of my favorite symbols/motifs from a few of my favorite books into one tattoo (a bee, some flowers from a specific book cover, the ley line symbol from the raven cycle, etc...). But this is one I've been work-shopping how to put together and I just don't have it fully formed yet (because... I'm not an artist. go figure).

(The worst part is I probably should already have a few of these done... because the only thing that is holding me back from getting them is the social anxiety I have over contacting a tattoo artist and trying to explain to them what I want and then having to go and interact with said tattoo artist for multiple hours. Hanbyeol is raised with a silver spoon, a stiff upper lip, and a straight back.

The younger of two boys, it’s understood from birth that he’s not the heir. It makes for a bit of a strange upbringing, really - he’s not quite important enough to receive the attention a child needs, but he’s just important enough that he still needs to be raised the right way, the Song way.

He’s a quiet baby. Perhaps he knows from the very beginning that children are to be seen and not heard. He doesn’t cry, and he doesn’t fuss. His brother is endeared by him, but his parents aren’t as much so, and ultimately this is the way things remain throughout his entire life.

Hanbyeol sees happiness in glimpses and pieces - his brother plays with him sometimes, when the both of them are free from tutors and schoolwork and extracurricular activities. He sees loneliness more often, and he sees it particularly when the whole family is together at the dinner table, the dining room silent except for the clinking of cutlery.

He sees it most when his brother leaves for university.

His father is a quiet man, a strict man. His mother is the same. Sometimes, when Hanbyeol is very young, he wonders whether they talk to each other at all. They certainly don’t talk all that much to him. They don’t really start talking to him for a long time, not until he’s their only child left at home. Hanbyeol realises then that their earlier silence had probably been for the best, and he regrets ever wishing for their attention.

His world remains small for a long, long time. He has minimal friends as a child, and that doesn’t change until he nears secondary school where, with a little bit of luck and a whole lot of chance, he makes his first friend that hasn’t been introduced to him by his parents. And then, like the tiniest domino setup, he suddenly has a group of friends.

Things are suddenly different.

It’s strange at first, to have people apart from his brother ask about him. It’s strange to spend time with people for the sole purpose of enjoyment. Hanbyeol is awkward and then he’s not, and then he’s happier than he’s been in his whole life, and when he’s young and sixteen and seventeen and eighteen, he expects it to last forever. Of course, as things tend to, it doesn’t.

His world contracts again sharply as he’s sent to university. Video calls multiple times a week start to dwindle first, and then the phone calls do, and then the texts. Soon enough, he’s getting a single text a month, and then a few months, and then a year. Hanbyeol is smart - it doesn’t take him long to realise what’s going on.

He closes up entirely. Friends aren’t really worth it, he decides, his mother’s words echoing uncomfortably through his mind. They’re distractions, his father’s voice adds. Maybe they’re right. He fast-tracks through his parents’ decided majors for him and he ends up right where they want him - working in their company, high up enough to be of use, not so high up enough to be too powerful.

It’s not his ideal life, not really, but… It’s fine, Hanbyeol thinks, downing his third cup of coffee.

Everything’s fine.
