Also she too was manipulated from birth on. Gideon had the privilege of seeing all of that due to Gwens outside perspective and his experiences during his time travels and stuff but Charlotte didn’t know most of that until the last book/movie. She had to juggle the constant praise of being the special gem and the constant sexism of being “just a little girl playing dress up”. Gwen at least could learn her worth outside of what the men in her life expect her to be, where as Charlotte’s life was entirely dictated by what these men thought of her. This is of course not Gwens fault at all and solely lies with those disgusting, sexist men.

Meaning she trained this long not only for nothing since she ISNT the ruby but also bc these men treated her like shit for a terrible reason in the first place. Thus it’s completely understandable that Charlotte has a hard time believing AND wanting to believe the lodge to be a terrible place run by terrible people.

Like there is so much going on I would’ve loved to see more of her perspective.

Lots of people see Charlotte as shallow, but I think there’s more to her than that. She’s given up any childhood she might have had for a gene that she never carried in the first place. Now she’s cast aside in favor of her cousin, who’s never had the spotlight before. That doesn’t justify the bitchy behavior, but Charlotte is a character that I can empathise with.

Drawing challenge - October 16 prompt: BOMB

Official inktober promp is "rocket". Since I am doing the opposite, i chose bomb.

My (imperfect) reasoning is that rockets are launched upward and propelled with fuel, whereas bombs are dropped and rely on gravity (usually).

For the red i used a red Pilot Razor Point pen, and for the green i used Smaragdgrun No.68 (emerald) ink and calligraphy pen.
