Such a Fall of Snow | Frost - Snolidays 2023
Severus Snape x Professor!Reader | Warnings: Secret relationship, just fluff, barely proofread so please excuse mistakes!
This is my story for week one "Frost" of Snolidays 2023! I decided to take all the prompts together and use them to inspire one little story.
Part One | Part Two | Part Three | Part Four
--
Anticipation for Christmas buzzed in the air of the Three Broomsticks, and the Hogwarts faculty were falling under the spell of merriment. Even the unsettling presence of Severus Snape couldn't dull the smiles of the teachers gathered for drinks. His presence earned a few surprised glances. No one expected Snape, of all people, to attend. They would never guess the real reason.
He was here for you.
Severus sat at the end of the table. Easy to slip away when the time came, and he could only have one person sit beside him. The only person he wanted beside him.
Minerva looked at you a few times, almost as if she was sorry you sat next to the most miserable man in Hogwarts. She didn't know you were exactly where you wanted to be. You and Severus were masters of discretion, after all.
You practically ignored Severus as you joked with your fellow professors. But underneath the table, your knees touched. That little shared warmth, the bit of intimacy that was your well-kept secret.
Three butterbeers in, you were happily enjoying the festive air. Severus had been nursing the same glass of wine since he'd arrived, sporting the same unamused look. He could never admit to the joy your smile conjured within him.
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Severus tip the wine glass back, draining it. He set it down quietly. Severus's warm hand found your thigh, giving it a gentle squeeze. Firm. Lingering. His signal that he was about to make his escape.
Then he was gone. You tried not to shiver at the absence of his warmth at your side. No one else noticed that he’d left, his preference, of course, and you didn’t call attention to it.
Quite some time passed, you weren’t sure how much, while you enjoyed making merry with your fellow professors. Soon, you had enough of their company. There was someone else you were eager to spend time with.
After making your own excuses, you rose from the table, rosy-cheeked and cheerful. Outside, the buildings lining the streets of Hogsmeade cast a warm glow onto the frost-covered lanes. The door shut behind you, muffling the hum of noise from the pub. The hush of cold, quiet darkness filled your ears.
"You took your sweet time," drawled a voice behind you.
With a little gasp of surprise, you turned to see Severus standing in the shadow of the pub. His pale face was the only thing you could see at first, his black cloak blending in with the darkness.
"I was having fun. Just because you loathe the company of everyone around you…"
"Not everyone."
Severus fell into step beside you as the two of you set off for Hogwarts. His cape billowed, a shield against any prying eyes who might look this way. He walked close to you, the back of his hand nudging yours but making no move to grasp it.
Always holding back.
"Not that anyone would know," you commented.
There was this side to Severus, a side he let no one but you see. You couldn't pinpoint what you'd done to earn the privilege, suspecting it was a dozen little things since you'd become colleagues. “Severus ‘Humbug’ Snape has a reputation to uphold.”
You blamed the playful words on the butterbeer.
His eyes flashed at your jest. “I prefer to keep my business private. That is not a crime.”
You watched him from the corner of your eye. You knew there was more to it than that. Severus kept a tight leash of control over his emotions at all times, even moments like this when it was just the two of you. You respected him too much to question him, which he appreciated. It was one aspect that made this thing brewing between you work so well.
“Come on, let's take the long way back. By the Forbidden Forest.”
The path was dark, seldom used, unlit. Private. By now, you knew it like the back of your hand, the number of times you and Severus had used it.
The flush of the drinks you had in the pub was wearing off, the chill of the dark night raising shivers over the bare skin of your neck. Few high collars in your wardrobe, something you were coming to regret.
“You’re cold,” Severus commented, noticing the slight change in the way you stood.
He unwound his black scarf from his neck and wrapped it around yours. Severus's hands lingered over your skin as he moved, the brush of his fingertips sending a different kind of shiver through you. The dark woolen fabric, still warm from Severus’s own body heat, settled comfortably against your skin. His scent wafted from it, tickling your nose.
Even though Severus finished wrapping the scarf around your exposed neck, he wasn’t ready for his hands to leave you. They made a home on your shoulders, light and ready to flee at any moment.
Your voice was soft when you thanked him, meeting his dark gaze as it bore into yours. You knew what you wanted. You guessed he wanted the same. Your lips parted as you looked up at him, your subtle invitation. Severus accepted.
His lips came down on yours, gentle yet fervent, knowing what he wanted and somehow afraid to take it. Your mouth moved against his, drawing him deeper into the kiss, hand clutching the front of his robes. His control slipped just enough, and he let himself claim you. A soft nibble on your lower lip made you gasp, and the resulting exploration of his tongue made your knees tremble.
In the shadow of the Forbidden Forest, your only witnesses were the creatures that dwelt within. None of them bothered you, and your kiss with Severus intensified, his hands finding your waist and hip, pulling you flush against him.
You run out of breath first and lean back, but Severus’s kiss simply moves down your neck. After he elicited some delicious noises from you, nibbled a small mark on you that you’d have to hide later, he finally came up for air. Severus cupped your face in his hand, staring into your eyes. The only sound you heard was that of your racing heart and Severus’s labored breaths.
“I wonder if anyone has noticed we’re missing.” Your words broke the silence, and Severus bristled slightly. “Should we head back?”
“We could stay a little longer.” Severus’s voice was barely audible, almost as if he didn’t want to admit that he wasn’t ready to let you go.
Wrapping your arms around Severus, you laid your head against his shoulder. He stiffened at first, and then you felt him relax under your touch. His arms tightened around you, cradling your head, stroking your hair. He exhaled, a seldom heard sound of contentment, his breath ruffling a stray lock by your forehead.
Even as white dusted your clothes, stark against the black robes and black scarf; even as the fresh snowfall covered the tracks you made earlier, Severus did not let you go.

“Break out your best hats and robes, because a special event to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts has been announced by the Ministry of Magic. The noblest families of all are expected to attend, from the Malfoys to the Notts, and the soirée promises to be a night to remember.
However, what your humble correspondent knows is really on everyone’s minds is the mysterious wizard whose alleged death took place that same fated 2 May. Severus Snape was left for dead by the Dark Lord. Only following the tragedy did the Wizarding World come to learn of his true allegiance, but even after the dramatic and now mythical revelation, some things remain unsolved. Do not miss Rita Skeeter's most astonishing journalistic feat yet, as she reveals long-hidden truths and exposes lies, aided by a very exclusive source, and theorises on what might have really happened to Severus Snape.”
The Daily Prophet, 23 April 2023

Snape, Scoundrel or Saint? - Week 1: The Muggle
Hey there! Yeah, I'm still alive. Here is my participation for the first week of @snapecelebration 's "Snape: Scoundrel or Saint?" event! I'll try to do my best and deliver one pic for each week, but as I was unsure of the dates concerned by the event, expect them to be pretty late / released when the following week starts! (at best, I'll constantly post them on Tuesday).
As it is something that I enjoy to do, I combined all the prompts in one single drawing that I wanted to make look like a page of manga. I'm not the best when it comes to layering and making dynamics compositions, so I hope it won't look too messy. I had an hard time drawing young Severus's face, as I had never really made any definitive reference for my interpretation of 10 years old kid Snape.
Prompts were "Cokeworth", "Tobias and Eileen Snape", "Childhood", "Friendship" and "Holiday", so I hope you'll find them easily there!
Even if it took me very long to put the manga screentones I'm really not sure of if I prefer with or without it. Do not hesitate to tell me your opinion, I'm really interested. One thing sure is that I had something in my mind when I imagined the pic, and the result is completely different as much in terms of style, technique and shadings. I do not have the necessary objectivity right now to determine if I like it or not at all.
Do not hesitate to tell me your opinion! 🍃
Again, I apologize for my inactivity this year. I have had weird times lately, and I'm still trying to focus on my real life experiences. I still love you all and hope you'll enjoy this new thing, from that damn irregular artist that I am.
Despite everything, I missed posting there for sure! Enjoy~

Gruß vom Krampus
It's finally time to post my contribution to @snapecelebration's Snape Calendar 2023!
Illustrating the month of December, I was inspired by Krampus, a figure in alpine folklore who shares Snape's dislike of dunderhead children.

A commission for @akumanie to accompany the fic, Elysian Key by Alice O’Really. Akumanie is currently translating the fic into English for us! Please check out her translations.
"It will be amazing. I will be a great witch and you will be a powerful wizard. And one day the whole world will know us! What do you think, Severus? Will they know our names one day?" The commission is based on the upcoming chapter 10. You can find the rest of the scene under the cut:
Lily ran across the lawn in the park, waving from a distance. She reached Severus, grabbed his arms, and spun  around with him.
"It came, it came, it came!" she shouted as she spun. Her long red hair fluttered wildly in the wind, her green eyes shone with fierce, mad joy.
"I said it was coming," Severus said breathlessly, the moment she let him go. "Will you show it to me?"
"Sure!" She nodded eagerly. She took a crumpled letter from her pocket, religiously inspected it for the millionth time, and solemnly lent it to him.
"We'll go together," she said enthusiastically.
Severus had read her letter from Hogwarts over and over again.
"Great," he announced, raising his face and grinning.
"I'm so happy, Severus!" She grabbed him around the neck. He returned the hug without the slightest hesitation.
"It'll be great, Lily, you'll see. You will love it there, you don't have to be afraid of anything."
"I'm not afraid," she said indignantly. "First of all, I'm very smart and I can handle everything. And secondly, if I can't handle something, you can handle it. Come on, let's sit down. I brought something."
They settled on the freshly mown lawn, and Lily pulled out a bag of candy.
"They're not as good as your beans, but then, there’s no danger that any of them will taste like manure." She winked at him.
"And that's certainly reassuring." Severus nodded seriously, and they both burst out laughing. As they sucked caramels together, Lily rolled onto the grass on her back, looking up at the sky, a letter lovingly pressed to her heart. Severus lay down next to her.
"It will be amazing. I will be a great witch and you will be a powerful wizard. And one day the whole world will know us! What do you think, Severus? Will they know our names one day?"
"I doubt that," he said calmly.
"Me too." Lily grinned. "But that would be great, don't you think? Everyone would know who Lily Evans is. And if they heard the name Severus Snape, they would freeze in horror! Oh, spare us, mighty one!
"You're crazy." Severus shook his head, smiling from ear to ear. "You're an awfully snotty little witch, you know that?"
"And you're a terribly terrifying tiny wizard," she said, sticking her tongue out at him.
"With a giant nose." Severus sighed. "They'll laugh at me again."
"You're a dummy. Of course you have a big nose. You are Severus Snape, an exceptional wizard. You can't have something as vulgar as an ordinary little nose." She rolled onto her side, reached out, and pushed her index finger to the tip of Severus' nose until the skin around it whitened. "Like this, it’s absolutely fine. And I will beat up anyone who laughs at you."
"Wizards don't beat each other up, Lily Evans. Wizards curse each other. That reminds me! Did you try the Worms in Hair spell yesterday?!" he blurted out eagerly.
Lily chuckled. "You should have seen her, Severus, I thought it would be her death...!"
"Great!" He nodded with maximal satisfaction. "She shouldn't have locked you in the basement."

Forgotten Nor Forsaken | Preparations - Snolidays 2023
Severus Snape x Professor!Reader | Warnings: Secret relationship, just fluff and some making out, I let Severus be happy for five minutes, I tried to edit better but I was in a hurry so please excuse mistakes!
This is my story for week three "Preparations" of Snolidays 2023! Though all parts can be read independently, I think I have a fun little narrative going. You can read Week One and Week Two, if you like.
Part One | Part Two | Part Three | Part Four
--
Glittering baubles, tiny fairy lights, and silvery ornaments covered the tree in the Great Hall. You were doing your part, levitating glowing glass balls, so they were dispersed among the green boughs. You keep glancing through the hall, hoping to glimpse the pale face you’d come to appreciate, but there was no use. Severus cared little for Christmas, after all.
Maybe you would just have to take the preparations to him.
Carrying a plate holding two festive cookies, you made your way down the stairs to the dungeons. The familiar path to the potions classroom was gloomy as ever, the stone passages resistant to the application of holiday cheer. Much like the man who called the domain home.
Severus didn’t even look up when you waltzed into the classroom. He could sense your presence now, trained himself not to react due to the clandestine nature of your relationship. Though you earned a raised eyebrow when you shut the door, locking it with a wave of your wand.
His lips twisted into a scowl when you set the cookies in front of him, interrupting what he was working on. “What are you doing?”
You came up behind his chair and wrapped your arms around his shoulders, kissing his cheek. “Bringing some Christmas cheer to the person who needs it most.”
“I’ve no need of cheer,” Severus grumbled. “Not sure what the point is of it all.”
“It’s supposed to be a time for gratitude. Togetherness.”
A scoff. “Grateful? For what?”
You cupped his cheek with one hand, turning his face to yours. Severus’s dark eyes meet yours, softening slightly when he looked at you. “I wish you would talk to me.”
There was so much Severus seemed to hold back. Like he just couldn’t open up to you all the way. You couldn’t help but think he would be happy if he could unburden himself to someone. Couldn’t he trust you that much by now?
“It is difficult to find joy in these miserable days when so much that was joyous in my life has been lost to me.”
Moving to kneel in front of his chair, you took his face in your hands. “Happiness hasn’t completely forsaken you, Severus. If you would just let it in.”
A flurry of emotion ran through his eyes. “It’s not that simple.”
“No. I suppose it wouldn’t be.” You took out your wand again. “Maybe I have a different tradition you’ll find more appealing.”
With a swish of your wand, a little sprig of mistletoe appears above your heads, bobbing in the air. You gave Severus a little grin, which he returned with a smirk. A tug on your hands brought you into Severus’s lap, his arms circling your waist.
“Now this is some holiday cheer I see value in.” His voice was low before his lips claimed yours.
Severus’s kiss was hungry and heated, stealing your breath away. His arms enveloped you, squeezing you tightly against his solid chest. You grasped his shoulders to steady yourself, going weak at the relentless movements of his mouth.
When you finally broke apart, gasping, Severus’s hold didn’t loosen. His intense, dark eyes bored into yours. Your thumb stroked gently over his sallow cheek. Severus turned his head, pressing a kiss to your palm that made your heart flutter.
“I think you need to get out of this dark dungeon of yours for a while,” you whispered in his ear. “You know where to meet me.”
You pressed one more kiss to his lips before hopping off his lap. You snatched one of the cookies from the plate, chewing it thoughtfully as you climbed the stairs out of the dungeons.
Minerva caught your eye when you stopped off to fetch your scarf and gloves. “Where are you off to?”
“Just a walk. The grounds are so lovely with all the snow.”
“Alone?”
You forced a light laugh. “Who would I go with, Minerva?”
“Hmm…” the older woman muttered with a click of her tongue.
You tried not to falter as you wrapped your scarf around your neck. Surely Minerva didn’t know? Of course, if anyone was shrewd enough to see what you and Severus were hiding, it would be the headmistress.
But you wouldn’t give her anything to aid any suspicions she might have. Maintaining your nonchalance, you followed your usual path out of the castle, cheerfully greeting students and professors along the way.
The little clearing outside the Forbidden Forest had become a haven for you and Severus. Secluded and peaceful, the trees bore witness to countless moments of tenderness and passion between the two of you. Severus would never follow you out directly, but you suspected he had his own sneaky ways out of the castle. There was no telling when he would appear, and you only had a little time to prepare for your plan.
Footsteps crunching in the snow alerted you to Severus’s approach. You crouched among the evergreens, well hidden, watching him scan the clearing for you. He called your name, confusion lacing his voice. When his back was to you, you struck.
A wet splat echoed in the clearing, an explosion of white stark against Severus’s black cloak. Severus whirled around with a glare, preparing to yell at an unruly student. Instead, he was met with the sight of you stepping out of the trees, covering your laughter with your hand.
He narrowed his eyes at you. “You summoned me out here for this buffoonery?”
“Afraid you’ll lose?”
That had the intended effect.
Cold bloomed on your shoulder as the snowball fell apart on impact. The smirk on Severus’s face was familiar, but the playful twinkle in his dark eyes almost stopped your heart. You quickly kneeled down and scooped up another handful of snow, determined to take advantage of the moment.
No sooner did you lob the snowball at Severus before one hit you square in the chest. The game was on.
Once quiet and still, the clearing became unrecognizable. The sound of your combined laughter filled the air. The blanket of snow that had covered the ground was in shambles. You were so hurried and uncaring in your movements that you stopped taking the time to form snowballs, flinging handfuls of loose snow at each other.
Doubled over with laughter, your fingers frozen, clothes damp, you were just about to surrender. Severus bent over to scoop up more flakes of ammunition,. He slipped on a patch of ice and went tumbling backwards.
With a little gasp, you hurried over to him. “Severus? Are you all right?”
When you drew close enough, he grabbed your hand and pulled you down on top of him.
“I win.”
His hands gripped your waist, and you found yourself entranced by his face. Eyes glittering brightly, cheeks flushed, lips curled up in a genuine smile. It was the first time you ever saw him so truly and unashamedly happy.
Your faces were cold as you fell into the kiss, but you hardly noticed. Instinctively, your hands went to Severus’s hair, though your woolen gloves prevented you from running your fingers through it properly. Severus held you closer against him, deepening the kiss. One hand squeezed your waist, the other skimming up and down your back.
You pulled away, licking your lips and raising your eyebrow at him. “Sugar cookie?”
“I didn’t want to waste it.”
You were tempted to make a snarky comment about the happiness of the holidays. Even if you were willing to ruin the moment, Severus pulled you into another kiss before you could speak. His claim on your mouth would not let up anytime soon.
You stayed in each other’s arms for a while; the heat blooming between you staving off the wintry air. You let the rest of the world fall away, content knowing that maybe you’d finally brought some honest joy into Severus’s life.
