Two of my Warrior Cats OCs! Ashstep and Snowpool! They met when Snowpaw was an apprentice, when Ashstep was a rogue named Ash. Eventually, Ash joins Snowpaw’s clan and trains beside her, and eventually, they officially become mates. Later, they become parents as well.

So if Brightheart is Specketail’s kit, where does that leave her canon siblings? What about Snowkit?
Brackenfur, Thornclaw, and Snowpool are Frostfur’s kits, and full brothers! This decision came about mostly because of genetics, with Brightheart and Mistlekit both being torties like Speckletail, and Snowpool and Frostfur both being epistatic white. Also, Cinderpelt is Swiftstorm’s sister and the daughter of Goldenflower, which makes her accident a whole lot more personal for Goldenflower, as Tigerstar is the one who caused it. (Actually, now that I think about it, Mistlekit probably needs a name change.)

i think katara would be a -pool cat! maybe Snowpool, Frostpool, Splashpool!
My friends and I settled on the prefix Crystal for her!! but I think pool definitely fits her for a suffix, and Crystalpool sounds lovely
I imagine she'd be a 'paw until the end of what would be se1 of the show where they get to the north pole... I'm definitely trying to figure out how the 'territories' are currently

Nightwatcher
Kit name: Nightkit
Pupil name: Nightpaw
Current name: Nightwatcher
Role: Patrol Captain
Clan: Ragingthunder

“Nightwatcher is a very intimidating cat with a cold demeanor. He wasn’t always like this. Older cats remember his shy and fearful youth before he got deafened by loud gunshots of a hunter.” — Foxstar to new kits.
Kin:
Mother: Sundrop †
Father: Dante
Siblings: Blizzardeyes, Snowpool, Shinyfur †, Silverwave †
Nephews: Whiteowl, Mothnose
Nieces: Silentmist †, Rosemarynose, Swiftcloud, Whisperer
Great-nephew: Nightjay
Great-niece: Rapiddust

“Don’t cover your mouth. It helps a lot.” — Nightwatcher
Education:
Mentor:
Pupil:
Personality: Introverted, focused and determined. Seems cold and inexpressive, is in fact very kind and gentle but needs to concentrate to understand what others say.
Reputation: Seen by most cats as a very respectful warrior and captain. A lot of cats prefer talking to him about their problems than to the deputy. Some cats do underestimate him and think he’d do better as an elder, Nightwatcher disagrees.

Do any of your cats have any cousins/extended family in/outside the clans? If so tell us about them!
swanface has a cousin within nettleclan! her father whitefoot had a brother, snowpool, who was the father of halfstream. swanface and halfstream were born at different times, swanface being the older of the two. they only truly became close after halfstream became a warrior and matured a bit past his angsty apprentice stage. it's impressive that they manage to get along, considering how prickly they both are, but they care strongly for each other and certainly consider themselves to be family.

For the ask thing: Graystripe and Silverstream. Hawkfrost and Mothwing, Crookedstar, Oakheart and Bluestar. Too many questions lol. Also is Snowpool still deaf?
Ok let’s dig in. Warning, this is gonna be long.
Firstly, Snowpool is still deaf, and was mentored by Ravensong and Frostfur.
Graystripe and Silverstream: Warriors has made many parallels, and its love for the forbidden lovers trope is no secret. Greystripe and Silverstream had talked once or twice at Gatherings, but really only got to know each other after Greystripe nearly drowned in the river. Their friendship blossomed as Greystripe, Fireheart, and Ravensong helped feed a starving RiverClan, and soon enough, Silverstream was pregnant. One of Greystripe’s favourite things about Silverstream was her intelligence. She was so much more than just a pretty face. Silverstream was witty, and curious, and not afraid to bend the rules. Something Silverstream loved about Greystripe was his sense of humor, as he could always cheer her up and, more importantly, tell when she was not having a good day. A doomed relationship from the start, it was sweet and caring and the embodiment of young, foolish love.
Hawkfrost and Mothwing: Buzzard and Moth were two kits born to as-of-now-currently-not-renamed-Sasha and Tigerstar, they grew up loners with a brother named Tadpole. However, Sasha struggled to care for them, and Tadpole drowned (assumingly, as they never found a body). This led Sasha to give her kits to RiverClan post-TigerClan, were they became Buzzardpaw and Mothpaw, warrior apprentices. Buzzardpaw was determined to become RiverClan’s next leader; in fact, he would often cite Firestar as proof of his dreams, and used every means necessary to do so, including faking a sign to make Mothpaw a seer. Buzzardfang, over time, came to be a manipulative, lying cheat, and was one of the very first cats to be contacted by the Dark Forest. Mothwing, meanwhile, seriously struggles with having confidence in herself, her role in RiverClan, and her relationship with her half siblings. Interestingly, both siblings have a role to play for arc 3.
Crookedstar, Oakheart and Bluestar: Crookedstar and Bluestar were friends as apprentices, whereas Bluestar and Oakheart only really started to interact moons after becoming warriors. Crookedstar wasn’t aware of their relationship until after he heard the news, of ThunderClan losing kits and RiverClan mysteriously gaining two in the same moon. Crookedstar and Bluestar’s relationship was awkward after this, but they did ‘reconcile’ before their respective deaths.

Context
Pilgrim is a response to our understanding of a real-world problem, four defining pain points and a projected user base. This user base relies on data retrieved from a New Zealand surfing association survey held in 2016, it is estimated that 1 in every 27 New Zealanders surf (“NZ Surfing Survey”, 2016). This equates to roughly 170 thousand New Zealanders who could become potential users of Pilgrim just from surfing alone. Adjacent industries and activities such as Snowsports, Mountain Biking, Tramping and select Music festivals provide growth channels which would see Pilgrims user base greatly expand hence the emphasis on developing of a versatile and transferable platform.
The concept of ridesharing in recent years has drastically changed the way we travel locally, platforms the likes of Uber (Uber, 2018) and Zoomy (Zoomy, 2018) have taken the New Zealand and international market by storm. Uber boasts as of the end of 2017 a presence in 554 cities across 80 countries (Uber blog, 2017), these figures highlight an attitude shift with the worlds urban population becoming more open to organizing rides through flexible mobile platforms. However, the majority of mainstream rideshare platforms don't cater to the diverse needs of Pilgrims user base. This has seen surfers and those partaking in other recreational activities turn to social media as a point of call, in particular, Facebook (Facebook, 2018). A variety of communities exist on Facebook for the purpose of sharing rides across the board from surfers looking for a wave to students looking to split the cost of driving to a summer festival. However, social media platforms like Facebook are not designed to act as rideshare platforms, they have been turned to because of their large user base and popular messaging applications allowing for ease of communication. Facebook does not provide an effective system of organising rides due to the saturation of other material and its wide range of both users and uses. The job of Pilgrim is to harness all these potential users scattered in disparate facebook and online communities, and connect them using one centralised platform.
The rideshare market is one that caters to many different demographics and is populated by many different companies. The section that seems to be most heavily targeted is the daily urban commuter (carpooling). In New Zealand we have companies the likes of Chariot (Chariot Ridesharing, 2016) providing such services, while globally almost every country or major city has something of a similar nature. Companies the likes of BlaBlaCar (BlaBlaCar, 2018), a global ridesharing service that takes a slightly different model to conventional carpooling apps focusing on long distance intercity travel. The key difference here being drivers get paid per trip rather than doing it out of pure good will. Locally, Co seats ( https://www.coseats.co.nz) provides a service that is targeted at travelers looking to travel intercity, However destinations are limited to NZ’s major towns and centres and it lacks a standardised payment scheme leaving passengers to make set offerings from which drivers can pick an choose from. Then we have existing action sport ridesharing platforms, most notable in New Zealand is “Snowpool” (Snowpool Limited, 2015) an online and mobile platform which, similar to Pilgrim, provides the opportunity for drivers to list available seats and for riders to find a ride to popular ski fields in New Zealand. However, the platform being founded in 2005 is an outdated service with a clumsy user interface. It fails to make use of advances in technology and additional API’s that make modern day ridesharing so simple and accessible. Furthermore, the platform currently only services central south island ski fields due to its small user base.
Where Pilgrim sets itself apart from existing platforms in this space in the diversity of the needs of its user. It is often a time-consuming process finding someone heading to the same location for the same reasons and settling on a price. By targeting a tight-knit and established community we hope to alleviate the above problems, when the conditions for a particular activity are good the majority of that community wants to be in the same place, a standardised estimate of price will negate the need for time consuming and potentially off putting negotiations.
Our approach to the build was heavily influenced by the framework of human centered design (Giacomin, 2014), the process of designing solutions to problems with the human perspective in mind. A look back at the history of user experience design and existing approaches provided us with clear direction. The author of LEAN UX Jeff Gothelf talks about reaching a stage of consensus between designer and user “Shared understanding is the currency of UX” (Gothelf, 2013). The creation of in depth user personas and empathy maps which provide a detailed breakdown of the exact pain points we had to solve were an attempt to reach such a level of understanding as the app itself and the incumbent User experience should be a direct response to these pain points. In terms of testing and implementing planned features, we looked again toward the lean model for guidance. “The practice of bringing the true nature of design work to light faster, in a collaborative cross functional way with less emphasis on deliverables and a greater focus on the actual experience being designed” (Gothelf, 2013) The core objective being to obtain feedback as early as possible so that it can be used to make quick decisions. The Agile software development model (Beck, Beedle, Van Bennekum, Cockburn, Cunningham, Fowler & Kern, 2001) works in tandem by outputting work in rapid cycles, these shadow the lean workflow UX to ensure feedback and user data generated can be used in each iteration. The publication provided details the creation of Pilgrims user experience from the ground up. This ensures any decision in the design process would be a logical step based on data from the previous iterative cycle.
Informed by innovative UX workflows, practical application began with studying existing applications and platforms in an effort to extract, and implement UX features that enhance trust, community interaction and ease of communication. Platforms that facilitated connections involving logistics such as online marketplaces, auction sites often connect user but don’t go as far as handling the finer details. Take for example Airbnb (Airbnb, 2018) Before a transaction is complete users must submit a message of intent which in turn generates an open dialogue allowing a connection to take place seamlessly. New Zealand based charity Sustainable Coastlines rallies a community around public data that shows the impact of a collective rather than the individual (Howitt, 2018). Popular social networks such as Facebook create a sense of trust and security through layers of transparency allowing users to see mutual connections and degrees of separation between other users ( Facebook, 2018) which serve to eliminate any anonymity in their user base, something the Pilgrim platform will rely upon greatly.
As a brand, we are promoting a sustainable lifestyle. Therefore it makes sense to employ a marketing/branding strategy that is reflective of this in sustainable storytelling. An example of this can be taken from the partnership eBay and Patagonia clothing formed named “Common threads”. “Patagonia encourages interest in used clothing in part through its Worn Wear blog, where readers share stories about the adventures they have had with their old Patagonia gear. One year after the initiative was launched, eBay sold 25 percent more used Patagonia products.” (Schwartz, 2013) While Pilgrim operates within a different space to Patagonia, parallels can be drawn between core values. We see our biggest marketing and distribution tool to be the stories Pilgrim facilitates.

Hey! Guess who found their tablet and will attempt to draw terrible cats? Terrible as in I’m really not all that great at drawing animals in general lol but in the mean time I got inspired for a little thing! Like a prologue for Stoneclan! And please forgive any mistakes, I wrote most of this half awake lol
The soft buzz of usual evening conversation sounded like a large, annoying buzzing insect in the ears of the dark tabby. There wasn’t any difference than any other day before, he knew that, but the weight of his thoughts made it seem that way. He was sitting near the Stone Speaker’s den that was set just off the main area of the camp. He tried hard to keep his eyes from wandering to the furthest point in the camp, to the tunnel leading down to the Whispering Stones, to where the Stone Speaker and his apprentice had gone some time ago.
A soft series of squeals caught his attention. He turned his head and watched as two kits tumbled over each other, so distracted by their play fighting they paid little attention to where they ended up. Most of the warriors stepped over the kits, others allowed them to roll over their paws, while the rest hissed at them in annoyance. The kit’s mother scowled at them from her spot near the nursery as she tried to keep hold of the other two kits stomping around her paws.
The dark tabby tom almost got up to gather up the wandering kits but the sound of pawsteps stopped him in an instant. He whipped his head around to watch as a shambling form appeared from the Whispering Stones tunnel. The Speaker, a ragged white tom, limped from the tunnel and headed in the direction of the leader’s den. He felt a stab of sympathy for the old tom. It seemed every day Snowpool got skinnier and skinnier and walked with a more pronounced limp and hunch. Snowpool had been the Stone Speaker before even he had been born and even before the elderly leader if the stories were to be believed.
The old tom was about half way across the camp when another form appeared from the same tunnel. A much younger and lively molly padded from the dark tunnel, her white pelt splashed with black and her yellow eyes bright. She must as sensed him watching her because she turned and headed straight for him. He sat up a little straighter as she approached and she must have seen him because amusement flickered across her face.
“You don’t have to be so wound up, Eaglestrike. You know I only bite when asked,” she purred teasingly.
Eaglestrike dipped his head as both a greeting and a way to hide the embarrassment he knew had to be showing on his own face. The molly didn’t wait for a reply as she went about carefully nosing through his long fur. He shifted as she got to his chest and she glanced up at him with concern.
“It’s okay, Spottedpaw, it’s just a little tender. It doesn’t hurt or itch anymore.” Eaglestrike muttered, giving her a quick lick between the ears. He glanced toward the leader’s den. “You should go catch up with Snowpool. You wouldn’t want to give him anymore reason to think you aren’t ready for your name.”
Spottedpaw rolled her eyes but flicked her ear in agreement, “Oh, he doesn’t need any reasons. I know why he’s so concerned though. Not like his previous apprentices gave him much to hold his hope on.”
She gave him one last quick look over before turning and trotting across camp and into the leader’s den. Eaglestrike let out a heavy breath and glanced down at the wound on his chest. It was going to leave a large scar, forever a reminder of his decisions. He carefully tucked his paws under him and looked around the camp again, trying to calm his racing mind and heart. It was oddly calming to look around at his clan and know that for that single moment everything was right. His clan was strong and growing, the borders had been quiet and secure, and there had been no out break of illness in seasons.
That calm was broken by the appearance of the elderly leader and Stone Speaker emerging from the den. Snowpool was escorted by Spottedpaw to one side of the Sunrock, a spot in camp where there was a hole in the ceiling and the sun always shone. It was the spot the leader made announcements and gathered the clan for meetings. Eaglestrike watched as the pale grey, long haired tabby tom with a nearly white muzzle, padded confidently to the Sunrock. Dewstar was showing his age just as Snowpool was with the skinnier frame and slight limp. However, Dewstar definitely held his age far better than the cranky white tom.
“Stoneclan! Gather before me at Sunrock for an urgent meeting!” Dewstar called, voice strong and commanding in contrast to his appearance.
Eaglestrike watched as the clan spilled out of various cracks and holes in the cave walls and gathered in a semi-circle around their elderly leader. Snowpool huffed from his spot just off to the side of Dewstar, not bothered at all that he was lying down in the sun while Spottedpaw sat prime and proper beside him. Once the clan was settled Dewstar started.
“Stoneclan, I’m sure some of you have noticed that one of our own has been absent.” He let the sudden burst of murmuring go on for a few heartbeats before swishing his tail for silence. “I have been informed that our loyal deputy, Foxclaw, has joined the Stars.”
The outburst was loud and caused Eaglestrike’s ears to start ringing. It would have taken the clan some time to quiet down if it hadn’t been for a sharp and annoyed yowl from the Sunrock.
“Quiet, you brainless lot of fleas!” Snowpool had called, eyes sharp and daring any of his clanmates to disobey him. Eaglestrike pushed down a purr of amusement as Snowpool then turned to Dewstar, “Hurry up and tell them what happened.”
Dewstar nodded, “As many of you know, there have been many spots along our borders where the mountain is unstable. While Foxclaw was out on a patrol on the border with Ashclan, the rocks beneath his paws gave way. He was killed in the fall. The area where is body landed was far too dangerous to try and retrieve.”
“What do you mean you couldn’t retrieve it?! Did you even send anyone to try?!” An elder called out in anger.
Eaglestrike craned his head a little to see and wasn’t surprised to see the molly speaking. It was Foxclaw’s mother so of course she’d be the most upset. Dewstar frowned and flicked his tail tip and Spottedpaw stepped up until she was almost shoulder to shoulder with the elderly leader.
“Would you rather we lost two warriors today? I was in the area collecting herbs and I witnessed what happened. I saw when Foxclaw fell and when Eaglestrike tried to bring up the body. If I hadn’t stepped in I fear Eaglestrike would have joined our dearly departed deputy.”
Eaglestrike felt his blood run cold as Spottedpaw turned her eyes to him. She had been there before the rock slide?
The clan was quiet as Dewstar hung his head for a moment before looking up, eyes shining with grief but also determination.
“It’s unfortunate but we must sit vigil without his body tonight. However, tonight doesn’t have to be all for sorrow. I will name Stoneclan’s deputy.” Dewstar stood up, letting his eyes drift to the ceiling of the cave. “Oh blessed and kind Stars, I, Dewstar of Stoneclan, ask that you hear my decree! Our clan needs someone to help guide us to walk in your paw steps. And I can think of no better soul to take that position than the very warrior that tried to save Foxclaw! Eaglestrike, come forward so I may name you Stoneclan’s newest deputy!”
This time his blood ran cold for a different reason. The camp was quiet as the clan turned to look at him. His pelt twitched under so many stares. He looked to Dewstar and Spottedpaw by his side. Dewstar was calm and collected as always and gave nothing away while Spottedpaw nodded encouragingly to him. He slowly stood up and walked forward a few steps with stiff legs.
“I...” Eaglestrike stopped and swallowed as he looked around at the faces of his clanmates. “Are you certain, Dewstar? Surely, there are others more worthy?”
Dewstar shook his head, “As I said, I can think of no other. Spottedpaw told me how you were willing to risk your life to help him. If I wanted another I would have said their name.”
Eaglestrike was about to refuse, to tell Dewstar to pick another, until he heard his name being called by a small voice.
“Eaglestrike! Eaglestrike!”
The large tabby looked toward the nursery and saw as Shadowkit, a small molly kit, bounced up and down as she called his name. Her siblings soon joined him and gradually other voices rose. He blinked in bewilderment as he looked around the camp. How could he say no when so many were saying yes? He turned his eyes back to Dewstar and after another moment’s hesitation nodded his head in acceptance. That’s when the real cheering started. The only cat not calling his name as Snowpool who instead just stared at him, giving only the slightest of nods.
Eaglestrike took a shaky breath and looked back at his leader. He hadn’t planned on being made deputy today. But he supposed if the Stars were willing he’d be guided down a bright path not just for him but for all of Stoneclan.
