Another weird question for y'all: If you are moderately allergic* to a thing and had been eating it anyway for years because you didn't know, and then when you figure out what you're allergic to you quit eating it at all, can you lose your ability to tolerate even a little bit of it? *a phrase which here means "probably severely allergic but can tolerate small amounts when on antihistamines"

#the person behind the yarn #allergy mention #food mention #I am not sure what I reacted to so severely today #and based on what I ate yesterday there's a chance my burger was cross contaminated with pickle juice #so I could be vinegared?#and it could be that this is just what vinegar allergic reactions are for me now #or it could be the german chocolate baking chocolate bar which I've never had before #or it could be my usual antihistamines but from a new manufacturer so new inactive ingredients #which means tonight instead of my usual double dose of off brand allegra I took benadryl #(DO NOT use my antihistamine usage as a guide. I take very high levels as directed by my doctors)#(seriously for most people this is both overkill and a bad idea)

The way I am a bottomless pit for the paneer butter masala the restaurant down the street makes... I put myself in a food coma last night from it (no survivors) and I'm already like "Man I could go for some butter masala and garlic naan"

Have a big pot of veggie soup going w like 10 different veggies & a bunch of dried mushrooms as a stock....gonna feed us for a week & by next week I'll be the healthiest person on earth

#completely from scratch no stock cubes #tho dried mushrooms r flavorful enough to basically be stock cubes #already tasting nice #also a bottle of white wine for fruity notes & vinegarness #lets see....onions leeks butternut squash turnips carrots celery....#couple different beans #gonna add some frozen peas to finish it off at the end along w kale & the celery leaves #prob missing a couple #also the squash & turnips were roasted #might end up pulsing my stick blender thru a bit so the chunks arent as big #oh also had a couple small game hen carcasses from yesterday that i boiled for a few hours w cauliflower greens #then just used the liquid from that #OH and also tuscan kale w the other kale #& okra (frozen) how could i forget the okra (frozen)

Eating cherries and feeling like summer

#3615 my life #although yesterday i had a tshirt #a thin long sleeved shirt above #and a fleeced sweatshirt above.#it's the middle of june and it's so fucking cold !!#i have a very fond memory about cherries #when i was around 12 i think ? something like that #biking in the village street and there was this cherry tree whose branchs were going a bit over the wall onto the street #and so i had stopped and was eating the cherries i plucked from it #like sitted on my standing bike right under the cherry tree branchs #and this old lady living in the house of the tree saw me and i thought she was going to tell me off #but actually she went like 'help me get all those cherries from the tree and i'll give you some !'#it's been very very long ago #but i think i went up into the tree to get the cherries down to her #(the dip of the Y shape of the tree wasn't very high #so as a teen i could mostly easily do it)#and then i biked home with a plastic bag full of cherries #it feels a bit dreamy so i don't know if all part are true or if i changed things to it each time i remember it #but this is really such a nice memory. childhood adventure with a kind stranger given treasure to go home #thank you old lady from a long time ago this makes me happy still decades past.#yeah yeah insert 'are you crying' meme here.#also i used the 'vinegar to keep fruits fresh longer in your fridge' post !#they're done drying now so the ones i don't gobble up in the next few minutes will go into the jar(s)#a spoiled cherry i left out yesterday was all moldy this morning*#(morning : 4pm)#it's incredible how fast it goes #which made me actually sort the cherries i had just left in the brown bag and put into the fridge #quite a few were already spoiled alas #but now i know how to do it and to do it quick and it's really super easy #we'll see how they fare in the next few days

for the first time in a long time, i threw together something to eat and it was actively bad. not because of parosmia or any other external thing, it just genuinely wasn't good. i barely finished it and was really glad it was one serving. #humbled

#think i might be going a little too crazy on the white pepper #also think i don't know rice vinegar well enough to just use it no recipe #and i fear i may also have a similar situation with tahini #yes tahini is just sesame seeds so where sesame seeds can go it can go #however! you have to keep in mind a teaspoon of tahini is 3.5 billion sesame seeds 😔 you must wield this power cautiously #i got really emboldened with that yum yum sauce the other day that was really really cool that i could just pull sauce out of the air #but that doesn't mean i can just slap together like 9 different ingredients 2 of which i'm not best friends with yet #and expect an incredibly delicious meal every time #just like 9/10 times lmao #adam yaps #i guess this is just growing pains #bc of my parosmia i can't just endlessly alternate between french and italian cooking principles #most of what i know is completely out the window without onions #so i'm having to cook in ways i historically have only experienced as a customer #and let me tell you. cooking was not 'coming naturally' to me before. i spent my first decade on earth as my mom's sous.#ofc i had a 'knack' when i started doing it solo #i have never soused for anyone cooking complex asian cuisine so unfortunately the 'knack' is not nearly as present u_u

I actually love the idea of Diavolo being extroverted but bounded by his paranoia. As if he ever could feel safe enough he would love to go out and meet and interact with people. In the same vein I see Doppio as introverted but forced to be open and present himself as a simple and approachable man.

Hey y’all! Weird question time! First, an explanation: - I am allergic to vinegar - vinegar is acetic acid + water - apparently, the human body naturally produces small amounts of acetic acid And now, the question: Could I be slightly allergic to myself????? To the acetic acid??

#the person behind the yarn #tj asks weird questions #medical mention #allergy mention #I am going to be so mad if this is the answer to my health questions #but also if this is the answer to my health questions it's hilarious #I will be talking to my doctor about this next time I see her #but like...this theory is so ridiculous I had to share it?#but it does kind of make sense????#I do not know enough about human anatomy to know how plausible this is #but vinegar is a histamine liberator so it could be causing mast cell issues without it being a technical allergy #and if that's the case idk if self-produced acetic acid would have the same effect?#but I'm also not sure it functionally matters if it's not an IgE mediated allergy if the situation is eat the thing = allergy symptoms #if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck I'm going to go ahead and say I'm allergic to it #by which I mean it's easier to say I'm allergic to vinegar and alcohol than to explain to people that technically #it's maybe not an allergic reaction because the mechanism that activates it is different.#but the symptoms and treatment are identical.
