☀️ i am so sad, i heared that they wont include anything from fes or portable, so no femc, no answer or the like. I hate it here, why this disrespect to my girl Minako i will fight somebody at atlus HQ
oh. well i will say it straight (the only thing straight about me i fear lol) but thats likely not entirely true, ☀️ anon. idk if youve seen this post but it sums it up pretty well https://www.tumblr.com/petorahs/719925542729695232
and the full article published a while later:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
bad ign reporting aside, i was also pretty upset at first since no femc and the answer! but then i saw a good point someone made about the femc case:
persona 3 reload has reportedly been in development for four years. and in that four years thats standard time to build a game from the ground up, maybe even too little – anyone who's been in game dev can tell us that. p3re doesnt reuse assets, too, it's completely from scratch. so having femc isnt simply a matter of model swap. they'd also have to program the UIs and make everything pink - sure, that could be "easy", but there's also the changed social links and team dynamics (more writing to be done), weapon system and all that (more coding)? so its like... i'd be actually surprised if they managed a femc during those 4 years. its quite a lot of work to re-adapt base p3 as is i feel and modernizing it. also i feel like atlus themselves wouldnt want to do their character and her fanbase wrong so of course they wouldnt fkn slap on a few pink menus and call it a day. they surely want to rewrite the s links and everything too in accordance to her. art takes time.
(with all that being said bullying atlus for femc is warranted actually maybe then her inevitable dlc might come faster lmao )
similarly, im fine with no "the answer" now despite being its #1 defender. theyd have to completely rework the 30:2 hour grinding to story ratio which is just not sustainable on a modern gameplay perspective. that also takes time.
its why i made this post actually. i somehow trust them, and i feel like most of us can stand to chill a little and have healthier expectations. as in not overbloated and not have the bar set in hell either (altho we should also do that too)
and i know, like anyone who's played this game, it means so much to so many people. and thats why its maybe impossible to please everyone, because its so many different things: a game that saved their life, a funny goofy lighthearted one where you catch demons, the most depressing persona game ever (altho i feel like p2 would beg to differ on that one-), or for me personally, a game that just made me cry man.
and because it means so much, everyone wants to see it be the best it can be!! and that means having hamuchan. i get that all of this riot energy is out of love for the game, really. but. yeah.
a remake seems like it's "less work to do" since the foundation's "already there" and i dont know how many people worked on p3re but like. i highly doubt theyre just sitting on their asses pissing off fans on purpose lol. (or maybe they are and im just too optimistic damn 😭)

OK P4 thoughts.... now that it's been like 18 hours...
overall... solid 8.5/10. i loveee murder mysteries
the dynamic between the characters carried the game more than anything
multiple moments where I laughed out loud so s/o to the writers
AND despite guessing the big twist from day one, I was pleasantly surprised by various other twists and turns in the story so yay :)
never before has a silent protagonist literally swayed my heart in such a way Yu Narukami you are my angelll
ok spoiler-y review below :)
okay. serious review time but keep in mind im fasting so like these are the rambles from that. i'll start with the positives :)
did not believe jordan when she said i would be adopting these children by the end yet here i am. every single character you met had such a sweet and profound relationship and dynamic with one another... it was so so sweet. truly the high point of the game is how the characters interact. Yukiko and Chie, Rise and Naoto, Rise and Yu, Teddie and Yosuke, Naoto and Kanji... even Yosuke and Yu..... like they were all so so so wonderfully crafted with one another... AND RISE WAS THE SHINING STARRRRR
Dojima and Nanako.... the way i thought they wouldn't have such a big role and then by the end i was crying . yeah. big bro . i love u .
I KNEW IT WAS ADACHI!!!! I LITERALLY CALLED IT FROM DAY ONE!!! DAY ONE!!!! I just couldnt stick why he was choosing the teenagers,.... hence why the twist with Namatane was so fucking good. S/O to Jordan and Fil who had to listen to me scream about how he was the killer without being able to shut me up.
Okay but in all seriousness Teddie becoming human was like the wildest part of the game like did no one else go ??
The soundtrack bangs. to be expected.
Yosuke's SL was my favorite... i dont know how teary eyed i got but whew. it was teary. the ending scene on the grass... yea... yea...
man. the icon. the star. Yu Narukami. I NEVER thought I would like the protagonist, at least not more than "he's cool", and yet by the end I was more sad than anything to say goodbye to him!!! i had so much joy playing as him, he was so funny, so loyal, his dialogue options we're just phenomenal. He felt like a real character in his own world despite never even talking. I think I'll miss him the most/
ok time for the bad stuff:
okay like atlus why do you do this thing where you create such a good amazing storyline about humanity and what makes you you only to drop the ball and opt to make things creepy or some form of phobic !!! like WHY!!!!!!!
Kanji's treatment was actually vileeeee . I hate how they chickened out in the last moment because instead of having a whole discussion abt homophobia internalized and otherwise you've just created a homophobic ass arc in the game that serves no purpose. like UGH. just go the full mile!!! go !!! let him understand there's nothing wrong wit him being gay!!! stop backing out!! You quite literally would've had a near perfect arc if you just went that extra mile and didn't make things weird !!!
also naoto........ don't even wanna trudge into the discourse here but he/him Naoto is where I stand idk. his story kinda felt really similar to my own when i was in my teens but... again...Atlus...
hey atlus can you make ONE game where there isn't 10 scenes of teenage boys being creeps or has some form of teenage fan service. please.
rlly sucks that i cant reccommend this game without caveats because atlus is.... ugh. but yes. i did enjoy it. it has some moments that are genuinely uncomfortable and made me go :///. but i can fix things as is my will as a writer etc etc.
yeah i think thats what i have for now. i loved playing this game but i think i'll love thinking abt it and plotting even more..... <33333

TOP 5 CHARAS AND 5 REASONS WHY YOU LIKE THEM GO GO GO
AHHHH OKAY OKAY. I LITERALLY LIT UP WHEN I SAW THIS IN MY INBOX YOU HAVE NOOOO IDEA THANK YOU SO MUCH ah okay. i hope its ok if i leave it to just one or two of my fav things about them though cause NFHBGDF I DONT WANT THIS TO BE MILES LONG i hope you understand!!!!!
1. LIGHT YAGAMI
now. i dont think anybodys surprised. MFKSKFMFMHNGJN honestly, though i dont care about death note much at all anymore, hes like gum stuck to my shoe and i just cannot get him off no matter what i do. i tell myself that i dont give a fuck about anything in death note until i see him on my dash and i go apeshit. hes completely changed me and how i approach analyzing complex characters. i think hes the first character that ive ever actually cared about in that sense? the sense where i look into every detail about him i mean. its really just so fun...
my absolute favorite thing about him... i really love how funny he is. this isnt to say hes a humorous guy im saying hes funny as in he makes such stupid decisions and its hilarious to see him struggle so hard constantly. the entire ending of death note is fucking insane it sends me into laughing fits every time. theres so many funny moments in death note despite it being considered a psychological horror animanga because of him being a genuine fucking idiot 24/7. hes supposed to be a genius but he truly does lack so much self awareness sometimes.
if you wanna know more of my thoughts in depth, i have an analysis of him here that you can check out :) ID LOVE FEEDBACK ON IT so if you disagree with me or have questions etc feel free to shoot an ask and ill try to answer!!!!!
2. GORO AKECHI
god... hes perfect. he and light are on the same level of favoritism for me, dont let the numbers fool you. hes hands down my absolute favorite in persona 5 and it blows my mind knowing that the majority of the fandom feels the exact opposite or are torn over him ITS ALMOST FRUSTRATING because its mostly due to the amount of misinformation/mischaracterization spread about him!!!! but no he just happens to be the best written character in that piece of shit of a game! MFDKDHNGJJ AND PERSONA FANS CANT COMPREHEND GOOD WRITING
my favorite thing about him.. i love how hes written. and i know this sounds really basic and predictable, but its the truth i just really love his growth as a character, especially in royals third semester when he gets a chance to properly shine and oh my god! did he shine! hes literally so perfect in 3rd sem
theres just something so captivating about an angry teenager who truly thinks of his life as worthless and doesnt bother making bonds with others because of it who suddenly finds himself questioning his choices of self isolation when he finally meets a group of people he can resonate with and feel seen by. a group of people who are willing to reach out and listen to him despite his past mistakes. theres just something so perfect about seeing that same angry teenager want to take his life into his own hands and strive to grow... that same angry teenager who didnt value his own life start to see meaning in things because of bonds...
i love goro so so much he makes me so emotional if it isnt obvious enough NGFHGDGBDFH I THINK ABOUT HIM A LOT. i think about him healing so much.
(btw im working on an analysis for him atm thats similar to lights so! stay tuned for that dropping when its done in like a million years NFHFBGFHDBGHF)
3. AKIRA KURUSU
DAMN 2 PERSONA 5 CHARACTERS IN A ROW
OKAY SO i know Technically akira is supposed to be a blank slate silent protagonist but let me tell you THATS SO FAR FROM WHAT HE ACTUALLY IS. IM NEVER FORGIVING ATLUS FOR TRYING TO SHOVE HIM INTO THE SILENT PROTAG BOX AND NOT LETTING HIM BE HIS OWN CHARACTER! BECAUSE HE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE AMAZINGGGGG ugh sorryfor caps im so fuckng mad MKDFKMGMHMGMG
it really does get on my nerves how because of atlus trying to make him a silent protag, the majority of the p5 fandom sees him as that. blank slate. nothing. when in reality he very much has a ton of spunk and id argue that hes his own character entirely if you just look a little deeper past the surface Like... its not even that hard to see personality in him. beneath the mask is literally his theme song, have you Not seen the lyrics to that? HAVE YOU NOT SEEN THE ENTIRE THEME OF THE GAME? this little dude is so traumatized and angry at those who wronged him (aka the justice system! shitty adults!) and people have the nerve to say hes the worst persona protagonist? lmfao
my favorite thing about akira is how he looks like a cat and how cocky and annoying he can be.. he is such a jokester hes the absolute dumbest. i enjoy this silly guy. *holds him under the armpits like a longcat*
4. SHIGEO KAGEYAMA
ahhh mob. he makes me do this -> :)
mp100, of course, changed my fucking life. mp100 is the reason i am the way i am and though all the characters are incredibly relatable and memorable and i cherish them so dearly, i, like most people, cherish mob the absolute most. seriously his strength really is incredible and though hes just a fictional character he is so inspiring and i wish to carry as much gentleness in my heart as he does.
im so so proud of him on his development he started off so.. i wouldnt say he was weak, but i would say that he lacked experience. he lived in his own little bubble not knowing what the world was like and throughout the story he grew to learn so much.. he learned to make such. mature decisions at such a young age. hes so so wise. hes so powerful not only because of his psychic powers but because of his compassion for others. he can befriend even the worst of people...
my favorite thing about him is his determination to become the best version of himself he can be. and also his relationship with ritsu (not me, i mean ritsu kageyama <3) i always gravitate towards siblings in fiction because im an only child and well <3 i dont experience that. so i like projecting onto them GHBFBBHFG they care so much for each other.. sniffle sniffle
5. RYO ASUKA
ok im going to be real even though im into devilman i dont have much of a reason to enjoy him this much. i just think hes hilarious and really cool and his satan form gives me gender envy. i love it when he commits random easily avoidable acts of violence for no reason at all its just because he wants to. and thats just fine. i think he can kill people and get away with it because hes ryo asuka. gay rights

persona 5 royal: my thoughts after finishing it five minutes ago
disclaimer: the only reason im writing this is because 1) i have a lot of thoughts and feelings that i need to write down and if i dont ill explode and 2) i want to be able to find this when p5s eventually drops so i can compare my thought processes. if you do not agree with what i’m going to say, that’s cool! just block me or ignore this post.
now for the sake of sanity, i’m going to try and narrow down this entire list into chunks because this’ll probably be very very long and very much about me just screaming about stuff that i liked, loved, and don’t like. i will be spoiling both the original persona 5 and persona 5 royal, obviously, so i hope you finished both!
1) Akechi
so yes. Goro Akechi. Everyone’s favorite murderer. I’m going to by spewing a lot of hot takes, and this is probably going to be the spiciest: i am in the most intense love-hate relationship with this brown haired antagonist because jesus christ is he a complicated son of a bitch. I know i’ve complained in the past about how much Atlus often struggles with utilizing a character well, but that does not at all relate to Akechi in any way, shape, or form.
I’ll say this now: He is a character I genuinely, truly hate, yet he is the one I want to hear from the most. He is someone who is a bad person (yes, he is a bad person) but whenever he comes on screen he makes me sit up, he makes me pay attention to him because that’s just the aura he exudes. He is a character who i would never, ever waste my time defending or justifying his actions, but every minute joker spends with him is a minute i want to stretch out as long as possible because he is just that good of a character. He is interesting, he is well defined, he is smart, he is clever, he is sassy, he’s a motherfucking asshole who’s never had a vibe check in my life and i still hate him. Goro Akechi is what Star Wars wanted Kylo Ren to be, and that allegory may not make sense to many people but it works for me so i’m saying it. It’s to the point where writing akechi in a fanfic makes me sweat because in my opinon capturing the essence of akechi is near impossible unless you know what you are talking about (i do not mean that in anyway to discourage people from writing him, im just saying that I am a coward because i will never be able to write a good akechi). Anyway, bottom line is: i despise him but my eyes are always glued to him at all times.
back to the main point-- Atlus absolutely nailed this character and every single addition they put in for Akechi. I’m so damn thrilled that you actually have confidant hangouts with him because every single time you talk to him, it services not only the plot, but it perfectly does what it is supposed to do: it makes you like him, but also leaves the player slightly unnerved. they do it so casually that I might have trouble explaining it, but bear with me: everytime you hangout with him, he always does or say something that unhinges you just a little bit, it leaves you asking ‘wait why?’ or ‘but how did you know that’ or ‘why are you saying that?’. akechi is constantly playing mind games with you. and not only that, adding backstory to akechi (moreso than in the original) is just fucking fantastic. he’s always been a fully fleshed out character but after playing royal, goro akechi actually exists in my mind, and i still hate him (but also i dont. but also i do. anyway)
2) the ending
just finished the game and this is the point where i am at odds with p5r for the first time. the ending to p5, in my opinion, was flawless; everything was perfect and had meaning. from the shot of akira being shown to not wearing glasses anymore because he no longer feels the need to wear a mask (character development: he was very unhappy at the beginning of the game and now he’s happy with his friends--i love it), to his friends being the one to drive him home (amazing, he left his home town and came to shibuya alone via transit, and one year later he’s now leaving with all of his best friends in a van they rented just so they could stay with him as long as they can--it’s perfect, i love it), and also all of them seeing how large and infinite the ocean is (because now there’s unlimited options for them because they all have a new perspective on life).
But....none of that is there in p5r. it feels impersonal. no one drops him off at his hometown, he was still wearing glasses, and there’s no grand metaphor about what they all achieved.
Now, i am not a (complete) moron. I know why they had to change it: it’s because of persona 5 scramble (i think). they wanted to set up a plot for the next game and i feel like thats the reason why persona 5 royal’s ending suffered for it: they were too focused on the next plot that they forgot to focus on the sentimental ending for p5r. don’t get me wrong, seeing akechi in the train station absolutely made me lose my shit and made me scream at one in the morning, but i think they lost the core meaning in doing the other stuff. i did not like the focus on maruki and kasumi (will be talking about them later), cause i feel like it took away from the ending, and i also didn’t like the fact that the whole joker outfit in the reflection thing (but i will be letting it slide since it was during the after credits anyway). So while i do love one (1) new aspect of the final cut scene, i still adore and stan the one from persona 5.
3) the entire last semester
i’ll be quick: the final palace? the best palace. fight me. it’s fantastic, it’s innovative, it’s interesting, and most of all, the palace ruler is actually the best one in the entire game and i know i wont be the only one to say this. maruki is not a villain: i know for a godamn fact that im not the only one to say that i almost agreed with his deal of allowing the reality (damn i almost agreed twice) because why wouldnt you?? it’s literally a perfect reality! the only reason i didnt agree is because i knew the game wouldnt want me to agree and would force me to have the bad ending! anyway, i love the last section so much. the palace design is interesting, the antagonist is brilliant (who doesn’t love a morally gray antagonist?), and finally, the payoff of kasumi happened and it made me silent for ten minutes. the entire reveal of her being sumire and kasumi being dead is just so genuinely shocking to me that it nearly broke my neck.
what actually broke my neck was the initial incident for the third semester. seeing everyone in this wild alternate reality made me so unsettled that i literally got a stomach ache. i saw morgana as a human and nearly passed out. shiho in the underground? wig. ryuji saying he’s on the national pedastal for running? literally my eyebrows just popped off my head. fucking WAKABA? FLATLINED. brilliantly executed and i love the initial akechi and akira buddy cop movie vibes in the beginning it was just so fun.
one huge part of the third semester for me though, was of course, akechi. seeing him completely throw away his ‘charming ace detective’ speil was the most refreshing and interesting and not to mention, hilarious part of the game. he does not give a fuck about anyone and he is not afraid to let you know. he is the biggest savage and the most insane person on the phantom thieves group. he’ll roast you, he’ll roast your boyfriend, he’ll roast fuckin anyone and it’s fantastic. not to mention his dialogue is killer: he says the most bat shit insults ever and my favorite example is when you go up to him near the end of the game, you know, to hangout with him and be a nice guy, he just does not hesitate to say ‘what, you came just to see me? just the sort of brainless sentimentality i’d expect from you.’ i LOVE IT because why the hell would he try to be nice? the jig is up, he’s got nothing to hide. and he owns it. atlus seriously nailed akechi in this last semester and it’s brilliant and i love it.
4) everything else
- one small thing that pissed me off in both games (but especially this one) is how many godamn fake out deaths there are. Morgana has one, Akira has one, Ryuji has one, Sojiro has one, Maruki has one, motherfucking Akechi has two. it just hurts me!
- sumire is an amazing character who has depth and she is lovely and my biggest complaint is that it feels like atlus shoved her in. like, she feels like a new addition to the game, you know what  i mean? maybe its because ive played the original p5 first, but you know, it’s not a big deal. but i love her so much
- on the topic of sumire, i cant say that im completely super duper happy with how different she felt from the other thieves? im sure that’ll be explained in p5s but she just got so much screen time that it just truly made me confused?? maybe im just a horrible person, or that’s just a really hot take. but anyway, yeah maybe im bitter because i really wanted to see extra hangouts/school trips during royal, but didn’t really.
-baton pass? literally orgasmic. it made turn base battles so damn fun and the addition of darts and billiards made me foam at the mouth it was SO SMART AND INNOVATIVE AND I LOVE IT ATLUS I LOVE YOU ATLUS YOURE SO SMART SWEETIE
-small thing, but making spells like ‘dormina’ actually useful just made the game so much more fun and dungeon crawling became something i truly, genuinely looked forward to
-being able to give gifts to my bros? absolutely incredible. thank you. side note: seeing akechi happy from giving him a multi vitamin cracked me up. side side note: giving ryuji a fuck ton of weights and him just smiling made my heart so happy i love that boy so much
- ah this game just looked so GOOD! i thought the original looked good but they really went all out. im not kidding, the smallest details in everyday life or even just normal cut scenes were out of this world. especially stuff from the third semester its just OOF good JOB atlus i love you buddy
-ahhh thieves den! how can i forget? i love it. at first i was a bit iffy with it since it really felt like persona 5 (undoubtedly the biggest game atlus has created) was just jacking itself off. but as time goes on, it became a huge addition to the game and seeing characters’ insights and extra lines of dialogue became super duper interesting and a highlight of the game for me. and don’t even get me started on how much i love love love the photos they added of them hanging out! so lovely, a bunch of them made me tear up
- i know it’s literally impossible, but i feel like the game just forgot that akechi is a person who can wield multiple persona and i just wish that could’ve been messed around with during Palaces
- showtimes are so, so crazy and i get so embarassed whenever they play on my tv because they are just outlandish and unashamed but i love them so so much it just defines persona’s personality
-because i love ryuji: i prefer the final conversation you have with him aka ‘whaddya mean? you’re there’ but there’s still a lot of really tender and sweet moments like akira genuinely telling him that he’ll miss him, and also the fact that ryuji wants you both to send each other your times through the exercise watch so you can still race ahhhh i love him so much yall
so, overall, this game is better than the original p5 because of the extra content we get. if persona 5 was the perfect dinner, persona 5 royal is that same dinner and you get to enter the dessert buffet. it’s brilliant, it’s smart, it’s hilarious, it’s heartwarming, and it’s undoubtedly my favorite game of all time without exaggeration. while i do prefer the final cut scene (and final dialogues with some characters) in the original persona 5, in the overall experience, persona 5 royal is superior in my mind. i would willingly get amnesia to play this game again.
I didn’t get to cover everything, but this is definitely most of what i wanted to say. if you actually get to reading all the way to the end, thanks! it means a lot. i hope we can all enjoy persona and look forward to persona 5 scramble together :-)

"dangling that bait in front of me so I buy a re-release in a few years." Not them, but OMG you articulated my issue w/ this. I feel like they left it that way so they could get fans to spend $$ in hopes he'd come back. Its so infuriating bc I never heard of a company doing this. If they dont let him live in P5R that would be a bad choice. No reason to be so vague about his status just $ only to keep his story the same. Just confirm him dead to begin with, don't string me along for 2 years.
Atlus definitely isn’t the only company to have done it. Bioware did it with Dragon Age: Inquisition; they didn’t even give you the actual ending to its game. You had to buy the Trespasser expansion DLC. Bethesda also did this with Fallout 3, with that Broken Steel DLC/patch that completely undoes the ending.
Now, I don’t mind DLC on principle. In games like, say, Dark Souls and Bloodborne, the DLCs have always only been really satisfying experiences–new areas, new bosses, new weapons, new potential. And the plot bits that were in those areas were supplemental; you could beat the main game and never touch those DLCs and be perfectly fine. With Bloodborne’s DLC it was a little different, but that DLC is also so fucking good that I’d say it’s the one example of an expansion that is worth the extra cost simply because of all the benefits it provides a player.
So the idea of DLC/expansions that add more to the plot but I have to pay a little extra for don’t necessarily bother me, but it’s what I’m actually paying for, and what it does to the main game, that matters. If the DLC are small little things like costume or music packs then I don’t really care–those are usually cheap, and if I’ve got a few extra bucks to spare I don’t mind buying up a few. But with DLC/expansions that include significant alterations to the plot or an actual conclusion, I get a little ornery. With P5 I knew going in that it would be inevitable that we’d get a rerelease, I just didn’t know what the terms of that would be. So when I realized those terms included Akechi rejoining the party… well, I’m still salty.
Considering you see him in the hot springs with Ren on New Year’s Eve, a good month after when he should be “dead,” he’s clearly not dead, so that’s pretty much as good as confirmation as it gets (not to mention that screenshot of Haru looking out the Mona-Bus window and you can see Goro’s leg, in his Loki costume, in the backseat). Which puts us in this weird situation of being like, “Yeah we been knew, Atlus, but this isn’t going to make the wait for a rerelease at full price any easier to bear–nor will it make the rerelease any cheaper.”
But I got my clown make-up ready because I know I’m gonna buy it. Good thing it’s coming out half a year later in the west so I can look at spoilers to decide if it’s truly worth my time.

what do you think of naoto's gender?
i do not like discourse and i havent even started p4 yet, the post just came on my stuff for me page- but i do think my opinion as a trans person could be a little bit of use here so uh. under the cut we go. got a little bit long, apologies 😔
gender roles and misogyny in the workplace, especially in other countries, ARE major issues. they really truly are. however, using a trans guy rhetoric to try and bring light to that is... bad. its really bad.
i cant change how people relate to a character as once again, those are important issues a lot of people can most likely sympathize with, but i dont think its fair for them to speak over people who do reclaim n.aoto as trans.
there are other far better characters/stories/ways to bring awareness to misogyny in the workplace, other than shitting on trans people and saying that theyre just.. "pretending" to be another gender for the sake of gender roles <:')
and from what ive seen, it doesnt even really.. bring up any examples of anything the character faces in workplace due to their assigned gender? there isnt any harrassment or anything that *shows* why they would assume presenting as a guy, binding unsafely, changing their legal gender, practicing with their voice, would change.. anything. i havent heard of any explanation as to why he would present as male and choose that route at all. of course, once again- i havent played the game myself so. idrk
if they were truly attempting to bring awareness to those issues, there were *so* many other options rather than making a transcoded character and then "revealing" his birth gender like some sort of "gotcha!" is there a scene where he presents as female and fights against the misogyny?
is there any proof that his experiences before presenting as a guy were different than how he was treated as a girl? is there anything that shows *in the text* that he had reasons to be concerned about the issues atlus and cis fans claim were supposed to be touched on by the very same text they swear so solemnly by?
and also, if he were a cis girl, why is he so uncomfortable with being called one. why does he try so hard to pass as a guy it straight up doesnt make any sense even with the reasons they give. no cis person would go this far for the sake of respect when the issue that seems to be much more dominant in n.aoto's mind is his young age and if they *would* go this far.. boy have you got another storm coming.
i know im rambling but it just.. straight up doesnt make any sense with those given issues either?? it doesnt really touch on all that much other than his insecurities of not being seen as a guy and being seen as a girl and it just.. i dont get it. using the transphobic twist literally doesnt do anything story wise or message wise or anything other than being transphobic. its so confusing to me
tldr: workplace misogyny is an actual issue but n.aoto's arc doesnt really touch on it at all, while using a very very very (even if unintentional) transcoded arc and transphobic "twist" to that arc.
i think hes trans of the gender bc there are other characters and stories that show these issues better w/o the transphobia and he deserves it

Tell me about the sunshine boy (Ryuji) bro
My sunshine boy!! My best boy!! Thank you, honey!
Ryuji Sakamoto
Why I like them: He’s my pure sunshine boy. What else do I have to say. Okay no, in all honesty…yes, he’s a dork. He’s loud and screams and makes mistakes. But he has such a good heart, wants to help others, protect others and he has the brightest smile. He just wants to be himself and to protect his friends because that’s where he belongs. The scene that truly made me love him is when he says that Akira inspired him to finally be himself. It’s the most important thing you can do in your life and that he’s proud of himself and tries to become a better person is so wholesome, it makes me smile.
Why I don’t: I still think the stuff with Mona and him could’ve gone better, but in my opinion Atlus fucked up there. ._. Other than that, I got absolutely nothing.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): The one where he tells Akira the stuff I mentioned already.
Favorite season/movie: Hmm… I dunno to be honest. ._.
Favorite line: I got two.
“Who’re you livin’ your life for? Your parents? Teachers? Society? Maybe you should stop tryin’ to live for them, and just try livin’ for yourself.“
“Wherever you decide to be, that’s where you belong.“
Favorite outfit: Love his summer and winter casual wear. He’s so chill.
OTP: …I am akiryu trash, I admit it all. This pairing makes me happy, but I won’t go into it now.
Brotp: uuhhh? The same?
Head Canon: It’s kinda embarrassing, but I like thinking about what characters would smell like, because it’s so difficult to describe that. And the thing that comes to mind here is a sunny summer’s day. Sun, fresh air, the dust you leave behind when you go running. Something like that.
Unpopular opinion: …uuhhh…I don’t know.
A wish: Let him be happy and let him be himself~
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: The shit with Kamoshida. And the shit with his dad. He didn’t deserve any of it and I hope he never has to experience something like it again.
5 words to best describe them: wholesome dork who loves ramen
My nickname for them: Don’t have one.
Send me a character 💕

School festival!
This is such a bad idea.
I really do think they should 1) invite Akechi, as the vote called for, through legitimate means (aka via Sae or potentially through me since, y'know. we hang out. We have a social link. I don't remember if I have his contact info but I think I remember seeing that brown square at some point so I think I do even if he usually doesn't contact me.
That said.
I also think that if we wanted to get Intel from him, as Phantom Thieves responding to his broadcast, we should 100% do an Alibaba and contact him that way. Why are we not doing that. WHY ARE WE NOT DOING THAT????
YOU REALLY DONT NEED HIM TO DO IT PLEASE JUST ALIBABA HIM
Also, thank you for recognizing that I have his chat id, game
This is a lot to put on Makoto. Can't we at least brainstorm it a little bit to ease the pressure?
YOSHIZAWA THANK GOD IVE BEEN WAITING TO HEAR FROM YOU HOW ARE YOU DO YOU STILL TRUST ME
It seems like she's worried about my well-being; that's good...
Oh man can I hang out with her at the festival please
It's kind of funny; I've only ever managed to hang out with Haru or Ryuji at the festival.
I've dated Hifumi, Makoto, and Haru in my 3 playthroughs of p5. Wait, hold on, I've actually done 4 playthroughs, haven't I. Because I dated Hifumi twice...
The learning at school music is playing but also IS THAT FRIEND FROM COLLEGE SHIBUSAWA BC
Oh. Oh no. False memories, huh...? Now, is that false memory yours or Kasumi's? Atm I'm leaning Yoshizawa bc she's got a lot of weirdness mixed up with her and her circumstances
Man, I'm so annoyed. I was one gaming session away from maxing out my Knowledge and getting the highest grade. Guess I'll have to settle for top 10. It's not like I need the charm, anyway. All I really need at this point is Guts. But I haven't really been hanging out with Takemi or Iwai, so it makes sense. Oh well. At least I can hang out with Hifumi more now.
In my first playthrough of p5, I got through to rank 3 proficiency really quickly, made some tools to quickly bypass Yusuke's thing, and then completely disregarded it afterwards until Haru needed it, and then I prioritized everyone else since I wanted to finish as many people as possible and starting on a stat to start someone new would have sucked. Iirc I did get to rank 2 or 3 with her, enough to get baton pass and maybe something else, but I was very frustrated
...Where was I going with this? Oh well
Shut up, pompous male customer
Hey! I have max knowledge, Sojiro!
Haru is so down at all times to try weird stuff. I love her. She's always up for new experiences
Another reason why she & Yusuke should hang out more
LMAO I love this bit
Yusuke is on top of things as usual. : )
I LOVE YUSUKE WITH MY ENTIRE HEART
YUSUKE THIS ISNT HOW YOU TALK TO PEOPLE
SDJDJDJSJ I LOVE HIM SO MUCH
Oh, this is an extremely interesting counseling session, actually.
"However, if you are the one leading them to their conclusions, are they truly making the choices for themselves? Isn't that just submitting to another person's will?"
"In all honesty, I'm sure there are people out there who think that... But life in this world confines people to certain frames of mind sometimes, and without them even realizing it. If I can help lift the weight off their shoulders and free their minds, I believe the results are worth it."
Fascinating.
"I would wish... For the world to see my mother's painting the masterpiece that it is, no matter how briefly." ...Yusuke...!
Reblog if you crey every tiem
"And if at all possible, I would also wish to meet a wonderful master - one who would take me in and guide my brush with care." YUSUKE...! TAT
JESUS I remember playing this part for the first time. my heart was pounding. I could barely tear my eyes away from the screen I was so nervous like what was gonna happen?!
The tension is still high even after the fifth time seeing this scene but damn that first time was something special
I wonder how he scheduled that phone call
All right, Pancakes.
It's weird seeing the PE Faculty office from this angle
Now THIS was an interesting bit
...wow, nobody invited me to the post-festival party. Not even Haru... I'll have to look up how that works later
Hey, it's Kasumi! Hmm. Maybe it's just that the default changed from Haru to Kasumi.
Kinda sucks for Haru, though. Now we get even less content of her so far. I thought the talk after the festival was actually very interesting stuff for learning about her character.
AHH SHE LITERALLY DRAGGED ME SHES SO NEAT
Members of the dance club? Um. Okay? This is new
IT'S SHOWTIME
...and he just stands there. Dammit
WAIT I TAKE THAT BACK I LOVE HIM
This is such a high school genre thing
Those shoes look really uncomfortable to dance like that in
YES DO IT YOU COWARD
Please be canon good dancer please be canon good dancer please be canon good d
ATLUS YOU COWARDS
Dating this girl would be a tragedy dating this girl would be tragic dating this girl c'mon she's dead you know she's dead and will disappear probably when you break the illusion come on don't do it you know it's a bad idea
But what if I dated her in this playthrough
Hmm? Now they're giving me the option to go to the post-festival party? But I just went? Huh?
HOO BOY
I know that this is an optional event, but damn if I didn't wish it started a whole new subset of rumors
IM SORRY FOR EMBARRASSING YOU
I wonder if you can hang out with Futaba at the festival. That'd be nice
The dissonance between Morgana being like 'we should tell the others about Boss!' And 'nah we'll hold off on telling them about Kasumi' is kinda getting to me.
God, this all happened in one day. What an emotional rollercoaster for our Thieves.
Sojiro...
