#fanart#sketch#my art#bnha#shigaraki tomura#tenko shimura#kurogiri#I cried a bit while playing it I missed the classic LoV I missed Kurogiri WITH the LoV it's been so long :(#and it feels like last chapter (423 atm) broke the seal of sketching them as anything but something static#it took me two or so days to just understand that Kurogiri is... yeah#I can't believe it took Horikoshi so long to bring him back but as I said and will say it again I glad it happened at all#after some thought I just want to sit with the chapters#anyway getting the preordered book was so much fun#it was full of LoV from Toga and Dabi talking about her house to Tenko being upset over being told that he doesn't have friends#and everything in-between basically only Compress left to join in the next volume#I think????#I actually want to get another one already they're so goodddd#and the translation sounds pretty good but I checked some pages not the whole book it'll be boring#it's actually so weird to think that I started a goal of reading the whole series ad it was now officially coming out like this back in 201#and now it's 2024 and the translation is pretty much ahead of anime and maybe it'll be faster than viz volumes too#since it's 2 in 1 basically - I think it's really great since I save some money but get LoV chapters every time#because they appear every 2 books at the start of the series and back then it was hard for me to get them#but I felt content seeing all the books that I bought when I was visiting family for holidays this month because there are so many of them#and I don't need any wi-fi or internet in general to read them back to back now with an addictional volume#they have some mistakes but I don't mind them it feels good to just hold all of them (and a bit heavy after like 8 books) and now it's 18

this isn't a complaint since i love the season so far and i trust these writers with my life but i do hope we also get to see claudia doing some heinous shit at some point. like currently she is fun to root for but this is the theatre people behaving badly show and personally i am a feminist
#i think even if they don't go that route it will probably still work tbh i'm not really concerned#but one of my fav parts of the book was louis starting to become unnerved and disturbed by claudia#as well as her manipulating him in a similar way to lestat#and like you could argue she has been doing this a biiiiit already but it's so totally justified and understandable like.#i couldn't hold anything against show claudia it's everybody else who is horrible and she's simply surviving#so like that being said. i kinda wish she was a bit more horrible too. women's wrongs etc#iwtv

does anyone else have this thing where they need to be just the right amount of fixated on something in their free time in order to actually be productive outside their free time, but not too much so it affects your productivity, but also not not fixated on anything because otherwise you just waste time trying to find that something instead of being productive or enjoying your free time

So I rearranged my bookshelf a bit for fitting trigun on my shelf...
Top shelf is still my persona shelf. It's way too established to change that. But I moved my assorted other fav manga volumes to the bottom shelf, leaving room for This...
It didn't Quite fit all the way, but it's close enough. This shelf is composed of my three top favorite mangas of all time, which are Also the only 3 series that I own in totality. Specifically bc theyre my favorites & I care enough about them to want to own them all lol
It's... really really nice to see them all in one place like this.
And of course. The trigun ❤️ completely worth the money I spent on them.

#Winter’s Orbit#aroaessidhe 2023 reads#i enjoyed this a lot!#it’s not 100% for me and I think maybe it relied a little too much fanfic romance tropes at points but like. that’s not inherently bad#there were some things that i wanted more of like. jainan’s relationship with his sister?#we see them about to talk for the first time in 2 years but then don’t actually….see that talk?#or anything else between them til the end of the book. i was like hold on I get not seeing That scene but surely she's gonna come up again#asfkadjfh theres a survival bit in the middle which im like. survival 101 stay where you are!!!!! oh my god unfamiliar snowy landscape coul#be SO dangerous. if there’s a storm. whiteout!! also dangerous wildlife apparently???#the book does raise this and have valid counter arguments as far as the worldbuilding goes#(they’re in a blank spot of cell service which is rare so hard to find them) but akjdhsgkjsf i can’t help but be like. noo.....#but also space opera setting that’s on a very wintery planet - i feel like is not that common! i like that#definitely has a hefty amount of miscommunication but like….it’s the kind that’s because the characters come from such different#emotional contexts rather than silly reasons. i don’t mind that tbh. though they maybe could have talked about things a bit earlier

#we’re doing enigma otiliei in class and in it one of the main relationships is between a 50 year old man and a 19 year girl bc u quite#literally cannot escape this when reading romanian classics and she kept going on and on abt how the man is actually such a good guy and one#of the best in romanian literature (like the bar isn’t on the floor)#and since im reading my dark vanessa now (almost finished it) i couldn’t help but draw comparisons and i brought it up#and we talked for a bit abt it me explaining the plot the context of me too in the states when this book was written how grooming works some#of the themes etc etc#and she told me today that she found a pdf of the book and she’ll start reading soon and im a bit scared bc while i cant imagine anyone#walking out of this book thinking in any way that the relationship between strane and vanessa had anything other than abuse or that strane h#has any redeeming qualities the internalized misogyny in her is strong ! 😭#and then theres everything else like how institutions rally around and protect abusive men while throwing girls under the bus how society at#large views these men and these relationships and the negative connotations the word victim or survivor that makes some women not want to#associate themselves w those terms the manipulation and the gaslighting specifically using attitudes toward women that already exist such as#women love victimhood and somehow teenage girls hold power over grown men#like its all v complicated and so many of the things vanessa tells herself are similar to what ive heard her say in class and idk .#im interested in the discussion nonetheless#it makes me cringe a little bc i know the rep this book has on tumblr which ive always found weird bc so much of the book is feeling the#palpable awkwardness and mundanity but whatever

just finished reading the kids are alright. not the biggest fan tbh, a bit too fanservicey for me. the forced cameos of like every og party member got on my nerves and it did not help that the protagonist is basically like......... dollar store cloud strife. i think the story should've actually starred the turks bc they were quite fun!
#i do like that so many of these characters appear in remake though!! that's cool :]#like leslie and kyrie and her grandma. i think that's epic#but the story itself just felt a little off to me. especially the last half of the book went by way too fast#it was hard to be invested when each scene felt so glossed over#edit: though part of that is probably also the effect of coming straight from traces of two pasts#which is for the most part very grounded and slow going#willow whispers#final fantasy vii#also okay YES i MIGHT hold a bit of spite in my heart for evan bc i'm like#there's only room for One cringefail insecure blond kid who puts on a tough guy act in this world >_>

i also like. i need to stop being pressed about what people might say about me behind my back or longing to know what's being said about me. i am scared of people thinking i am bad, especially people that knew me that are no longer in my life because of what someone else said. but i'm not going to be able to change this by wondering what they're hearing about me and whether or not it's true. they can come to me and get my side if they want, and if they don't want then that's their choice. i don't want to lose anyone else, but i can't make them choose me. so it doesn't matter what other people could be saying about me because i cannot change it

None of these bitches can shut up for a movie except Equius and#he would be busy holding Nepeta back so he can't take out Karkat's eye over shipping disagreements#like Jane/Dave/Karkat (all dating) is the amazing and (qpr) Nepeta/Equius mixed with (romantic) Equius/Karkat is THE best dynamic#so just throw those together and you get perfection + Equius and Dave's interaction in cannon is great already#I wanna see them all thrown in a hive/house and just see how it works#I wanna see Nepeta‚ Jane‚ Equius‚ and Dave all painting their nails together on the floor (Karkat's off reading a book somewhere nearby)#Nepeta and Jane are the only ones who actually know what they're doing so they end up painting Equius' and Dave's too (respectively)#Equius DOES try to paint his own at first but his fine moter control still isn't that great rn (though he's getting better)#so he keeps getting it all over his actual hand.#When he starts to get anygry and frustrated after so many mistakes is the point where Nepeta offers to help him#He ends up getting nails that /SO/ do not fit his color scheme (bc he didn't actually request any color and she just did what she wanted)#but he doesn't complain. He just looks at her handiwork fondly bc how could he ever be upset over something she so lovingly did for him?#Also Karkat helps Nepeta rearrange her shipping wall. He thinks all of her choices are incorect and complains the whole time‚ but it's one#of those things he'll do while grumbling when it's a ''Hey this is weird‚ though it makes my weirdo happy so fiiiiiiiiiiiine''#Dave annoys Equius to death but they're still friends.#Just with a bit more insults and degrading comments that Equius will apologize for later when things settle down.#I mean it's not like they don't have super fun times between themselves tho. You've seen their conversation when Dave got the broken sword#Also Equius was canonically attracted to Dave during that conversation so like.....#And unrelated to that: If Karkat and/or Dave are ever having a fight with John they bake shit to annoy him#Everyone prefers when Karkat's the one to do it though because Dave ''Doritoes is a food group'' Strider makes the house smell like smoke#while Karkat's baking is only ever sugary goodness#It's an easy way for the God of Wind to lower the house's temperature by like 40° but who the fuck cares when there's cookies and/or cake.#*Jane (<- It think. the outline for hunter & poet is complete!!
this is my first time writing anything remotely similar to this - it's a low fantasy romance/paranormal mystery, intended to be like a paperback romance - so I used Gwen Hayes's romancing the beat outline to help me along. it was incredibly helpful, even if I did remix a couple chapters and kind of do my own thing in the last two. the scrivener template she provides on her website is fantastic, too.
I really am excited to write this one come november, as it'll be my nanowrimo project. from now until then I'll probably try writing some drabbles to get into the world and headspaces of Adder and Sepheri. might try to do whumptober with them?? we'll see! I'm just relieved I've finally got an outline that I enjoy for it. the last two chapters are going to be SO GOOD, Y'ALL
