further evidence that my cousin’s shitbag nazi husband was a total shitbag: he lived in western washington with an american spouse for EIGHT YEARS (after a year in california before THAT) and never picked up more than the most rudimentary english. I have been in Montreal for TWO DAYS and feel like an asshole for not speaking fluent French, to the point where I’m doing my best to speak it when I can even though I know fuckall.

Wait, what did Matt Hargreaves do? /genq
sorry I’m kind of dumb :p also u don’t need to answer this if you are uncomfortable!
TW: fake claiming, ableism, pro-shippers, pedos, TBATF, Nazis, sexual assault (s/a), discourse, death.
Also I would like to mention anon, I realize this sound a bit annoyed/angry, but none of it's against you! I'm very glad you're trying to learn about what's going on and what's wrong instead of ignoring it, I'm just annoyed at the dumb stuff the entire EW crew has been up to.
I am so sorry for being the one to tell you but uh. There's actually quite a bit
Fake claimed DID/OSDD systems in the fandom (image below). He also said kins were stupid and that "you aren't the character" about kins (fun fact if you're new here, I'm an introject of his character and we're a diagnosed/medically recognized DID system, so that's just a huge punch in the gut huh)
Tumblr media
Speaks over Edd's family about how Edd's legacy should be/what Edd would have wanted
Made fun of any fanart of changing the characters from the show (especially skin color)
The ableist joke in Beaster Bunny, if you watched that (the one where Tom looks at a bunch of clearly grossly drawn disabled kids and says they're "very.... (pause) special kids.."), as well as the pedophile joke. He's said both that 1. he wrote the entirety of Beaster Bunny and 2. that someone else wrote the pedo joke, but either way he let that shit slide. He looked at that and said "yes, let's advertise this as a more kid-friendly show, and let's also include a joke about pedophilia!"
Defends multiple pedophiles (Patryk Dudulewicz is a pro-shipper and actively reposted a shitload of porn of "technically she's 1000 years old, she just LOOKS like a child!" characters, Christopher Bingham has s/a allegations he refuses to address)
Defends the TBATF team (if you don't know why they're also pretty horrid people, you can look it up for more info- basically they made Red Leader a Nazi and try to make him sympathetic and cool, they completely butchered everything likeable about the characters (most notably Edd, who they've made into a completely unlikeable selfish douchebag), they sexualize every single woman in the comic, been very racist to Romani and Native American people, made jokes about male s/a, and there's a lot of shitty things the creators have done outside of the comic too.)
Actively replaced Tom's alcoholism with food in Beyond and the comics. It's pretty common knowledge that Tomska has had horrible issues with his body image and how he perceives himself, and that's just so fucked up to make his body (even if it is the character, it's BASED on Tomska) a joke.
Said that NONE of Legacy was canon. Trying to completely erase all of Tomska's work on the series, and shitting on Tomska's work and saying nothing he did mattered on the show (even when he left the show specifically due to the stress he was under working extremely hard to please the fandom and keep his friends legacy intact). Even if you don't like Legacy, you have to admit that's just a shitbag thing to say to someone who actively tried to help keep Edd's memory alive.
Tonetags: Not mad (at anon, or at the reader, but I am pretty upset about Matt Hargreaves), serious, pretty disappointed in Matt Hargreaves

So I have an idea for an Umbrella Academy Au
Some of the powers and backstories and powers are shuffled
Vanya and Klaus switch powers. Vanya does drugs sometimes, but not to the same extent, and also uses her violin as a coping mechanism to keep her occupied. Instead of getting high or drunk, she takes medication more. Klaus is chaotic AF whenever he figures out his powers. He's the team's support.
Luther and Allison switch powers, and Luther gets the tragic family backstory, but goes to the moon still, kinda to get away. Allison is still a model, but buff af and her backstory involves fighting norms. Dwayne Johnson met her all of once and noped out.
Ben is alive, and has sort-of Five's backstory. The monsters inside of him made him see the alternate universe they came from, and its traumatic.
Five and Diego switch. However, due to overconfidence, Five is dead. He took on too much and got killed. He haunts Vanya, similar to Ben and Klaus's storyline. Diego is chaotic and uses teleportation too much, but Grace manages to convince him not to time travel.
Due to this, some but not all of the problems are unfucked or less fucked than they were.
However, in this Au
Ben is there for, and helps Klaus so the most powerful member of the group isn't ostracized and doesn't go mad. Diego does the same.
Five is the saltiest ass ghost on the planet.
Vanya dresses like an emo teen. From the 2000s. There's a clip of her at Hot Topic for no reason. In fact, the scene where Klaus is dancing around in a towel? Replaced by her aggressively dancing and missing everything. She gets teleported back, meets a lovely girl in the war, mirroring Klaus. However, Leonard unfortunately exists, and she goes through some development to realize that Leonard is a shitbag and dumps him in favor of the girl.
There are clips of Allison beating the literal shit out of catcallers, rapists, Nazis, and pedophiles. They don't need a reason to be there, aside from its what she deserves.
Luther feels guilt about manipulating his family, but continues to use it anyway
There is a clip of the Diego/Detective Patch breakup. Its her speedwalking away as he keeps teleporting alongside her trying to talk. Also, Klaus and Ben are there for him over the breakup. Ben gives sound advice. Klaus has several plans to fix the relationship. None of these are sound plans. Diego is still a vigilante, although he uses teleportation power in pranks. Some are Klaus and Ben and some are his own.
Klaus is in a band with Ben and Vanya when they can convince her. It is not a great band. Klaus also does slam poetry. Klaus is surprisingly good at slam poetry. When he finally learns to properly channel the energy, he just uses meme songs. (See All-star by Smashmouth, Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley, The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air's theme song, you name it, he's done it. Vanya has convinced him to sing Fall Out Boy, Panic!, MCR, etc and is satisfied. Five's ghost threatens to play Jenga with his bones. She ignores Five)
Also Dave is in this Au. Dave is the bartender at the bar that usually hosts slam poetry and Klaus and Ben's band, which I have decided is called Release the Kraken. Dave regularly watches these. Dave has many video clips of these. At some point, they start dating, and hilarious cuts are shown of Klaus going to great lengths to obscure his power, but accidently blowing Dave through the wall while serenading him.

what do you think about cancel culture?
So it took me a while to answer this ask ‘cause I have... a lot to say about the subject.
There’s a lot to unpack when it comes to cancel culture. Its roots I like to believe are well intended -- a means to alert vulnerable groups about individuals that have a history of hurting them. But people have taken it... way too far.
I think it’s important to hold people accountable for their actions. There’s a lot of people who get away with horrible things, simply because they produce likeable material (makeup, music, movies, entertainment, etc.). People like Jeffree Star, PewDiePie, and Kat Von D have gotten away with their horrific treatment of others for years because people enjoy their content -- and two out of three of them still are wildly successful. What pushes people over the limit? Often times it’s a matter of what white people take major issue in. In Kat’s case, being anti-vax. Is being anti-vax bad? Hell yeah it is. As someone who’s immuno-compromised it literally could lead to an early, painful, slow death for me. And don’t get me wrong, I wanna die, but not from something that takes months of suffering. But people blatantly ignored her other awful acts -- such as her antisemitic actions (telling her former boss to “burn in hell jewbag” (sic) in the form of writing on a photo she left for him and drawing a Nazi symbol on it), complacency in victim blaming (her neo-Nazi husband blames his daughter’s rape on his daughter), denying and viciously responding to criticisms about her pedophilic makeup names (”Underage Red”, “Lolita”, second not in reference to the Japanese style but the book), and actively killing her pets (she killed one cat by leaving a house full of burning candles -- cat knocked down the candles, house went up in flames, cat died; she also was found forcing a vegan diet onto her cats -- I’m unsure if this has continued but I believe one of her cats died from it). All of these are huge reasons to “cancel” her -- to boycott her products. But people didn’t actively hate her until she came out as anti-vax, something that effects the majority. And that’s part of the issue with cancel culture: people pick and choose what’s acceptable depending on how badly it effects them personally.
Let’s focus on the other two mentioned: Jeffree and Felix. Jeffree has a very, very, veryyyyy long past of being a racist piece of shit. Not even lowkey ignorant white person racist (i.e. ”I didn’t know making fun of AAE and viewing dreadlocks as trashy was racist”). I’m talking straight up using the n-slur, with the hard -er too, towards a black woman. And this was recent, too. There just haven’t been any physical references beforehand, only personal accounts. But people have defended him -- and still defend him -- on these actions, because he apologized. But then he’ll do it again a month later. And there’ll be definitive proof of it. He’ll keep doing it over, and over, and over again. And people will continue to excuse him because he keeps apologizing! That’s not how apologies work! As someone who’s been abused, apologies mean nothing if you don’t actively work on fixing what you’re apologizing for!! My abusers would apologize and then do the exact same thing again so many times that I lost count long ago! And of course, Shane Dawson hasn’t helped because he’s head over heels for the guy, so he’s been using his popularity to try and clear his name -- which is ironic, considering he’s been under fire for being racist in the past too. The only difference is he actually cleaned his act up, until now, of course. Because now, instead of creating racist content himself, he’s defending a chronically racist shitbag. And people continue to defend him, because his shitty actions effects mainly black women -- a minority in comparison to the amount of white people in the states. Jeffree continues to be wildly successful because his problematic behavior only effects a minority, and that’s... not okay.
Felix has a very similar history to Jeffree, but with antisemitism, and in my opinion he’s even worse because he’ll apologize then do something nice like donate to a charity. And that would be fantastic if he wouldn’t continue to do antisemitic things like actively support white supremacists. People continue to defend him because he does charitable things, but I constantly remind people that abusive people aren’t abusive 24/7 -- that’s literally how they get away with abuse. They abuse, then take you out for a fancy date, kiss you gently and tell you how beautiful you are. Then they do something abusive. It’s an endless cycle. And that’s honestly what Felix does. Apologize, do something really fucking nice, and then repeat his shitty action. And he has other extremely influential people defend him -- it’s why I had to stop following JackSepticEye and Markiplier. They continuously vouched for him. They continuously defended him. And they did it in the form of saying “he’s a really good person, I know him personally, he’s really fucking sweet and nice”. That’s what people say about the partner of someone really close to me! Their friends defend them all the time, but they’ve never seen how they treat my friend. They don’t know about how they are in a relationship. And that’s all we ever hear about abusers. No one wants to accept that their longtime friend is shitty. But Mark and Sean contribute to the toxic ideology of “defend your friends to the end”. And it disenfranchises those effected because 1) they’re not Jewish, they have absolutely no say in the matter, and 2) they’re abusing their popularity to keep their friend from being properly criticized. I don’t think either of them are shitty people, per se, but they’re being extremely toxic by not letting their friend see that they’re a repeat offender and need to either work on their shit or face the music. Mark and Sean both have the power to make Felix change if they just give him the ultimatum of “us or this”.
But I digress. The main issue highlighted here is that people who actually do bad things and continue to do bad things aren’t being held accountable because people don’t care to acknowledge what doesn’t directly effect them. This is the first main issue with cancel culture.
Let’s focus on another man under scrutiny: John Lennon. Now, let me put out there for disclaimer purposes that this man is far from perfect and has problematic parts to him as well. He’s done some shitty things. But cancel culture looooooooves to dig at this man. To put it crudely, they really enjoy beating this dead... man. And mainly over one really bad thing he did, which was hit his wife. However, people love to 1) over-exaggerate it, and 2) completely ignore how he handled the aftermath. Cancel culture often refers to him as a “wife beater”, as though this were a chronic habit or that he severely brutalized his wife. But they conveniently ignore that he apologized, both to her and publicly, taught himself about domestic abuse and spoke up for women’s rights, and even wrote multiple songs about how he fucked up and he shouldn’t be excuse for what he did. And, most importantly, his wife forgave him. The victim in this situation forgave him, and people still dig into this one thing and use it as their reason to hate him and his band to this day. Genuine criticism of him and what he’s done have gone to the wayside because of this one fact with no context, and it’s a huge phenomena because people, for whatever reason, love to hate popular things. Like I said, he’s done shitty things! He wasn’t perfect! But to use one issue that was literally resolved to hate him is just a lazy excuse to hate what’s popular, and that comes to our second issue with cancel culture: people want to hate what’s popular and will go to any lengths to excuse their hatred, even if issues that have been resolved.
The last main issue I have is that cancel culture is often set up in very black and white terms. Person does bad thing, they’re bad, end of discussion. But that’s... not how life works. Not at all. I know religion isn’t universal, especially Christianity, but there’s one point in Christianity that is universal: humans are flawed. No human being to have ever existed is perfect. And with the rise of technology and social media, a lot of mistakes have a permanent proof out there. Be it through tweets, tumblr or Facebook posts, Instagram or Snapchat stories, whatever it is, there is proof. And people like to take it way too far.
For example... well, I’ll use myself. There’s good things to not being tumblr famous, and I’m blessed with that, because I used to be a major shithead. Well. Okay, I still am, but I was bigoted, uninformed, and had a lot of internalized issues. For anyone that doesn’t know, I was raised in a conservative Christian household where my father was Southern Baptist and my mother had been raised Catholic (her personal religious views are much more lax though, thankfully). Both came from small towns in Illinois and Missouri respectively, and their parents, the same. I was aggressively homophobic and transphobic (ironic, eh?), covertly racist and sexist, and just overall a really shitty person. And while I didn’t join tumblr until after I’d finally started to grow, a lot of people on here are younger -- some even lying about their age and joining before they’re 13. And like me, many of these kids are in close-minded households. And for the longest time I refused to listen to other people because of the good ol’ backfire effect, but once I began to accept I was wrong, I learned. Of course I still have learning to do -- I always do. I always will. And that’s okay. But if I were 12 year old me on tumblr today, I would, well. I would’ve probably killed myself by now, because of all the bullying and hate for being a shithead child. A shithead, yes. But a child. Someone that’s going to be ignorant to a lot of things because they haven’t been alive for as long. And not everyone has informed parents that make it a point to teach them. Adults are a little harder to forgive, I’ll admit, but children have a lot more potential to learn and grow, and we often treat them just like adults.
The final issue with cancel culture is that it gives no room for improvement and no assumption of someone’s innocence. While it hurts to be on the victim end, we as a whole are obligated to correct the issue. I personally would like it to be those not effected doing that (i.e. someone making a transphobic comment having other cis people explain why it’s transphobic and isn’t okay), but regardless, we need to assume innocent until guilty with these kinds of things. It’s not easy, sure, but if I had been on tumblr while I was a shitty kid parroting my dad’s awful world views, cancel culture would’ve labeled me a piece of shit with no chance of redemption, and if I didn’t kill myself there’s no fucking way in hell I would’ve learned, because that kind of treatment would’ve stuck with me and made it harder for me to listen to the other side’s reasoning, even if they were right. We need to approach people in a manner of calm education, instead of ready to kill. In no way am I saying this is an easy thing to do, but unless they’ve refused to open themselves up in any way whatsoever, immediately chalking someone up as a lost cause is just... counter-productive. We have to acknowledge that people are flawed, and can learn and grow. We need to give people space to improve. It’s not all or nothing.
All in all, cancel culture has a good base, but its execution has become irrational and a means to justify hating those that really don’t deserve it, while turning a blind eye to those that actually are problematic. There’s a lot to be improved on.

Avengers thoughts
Spoilers behind the cut
Overall I did enjoy the movie, but nitpicking things is what I do.
That  sure was a popcorn action flick about a whole lot of extremely depressed people all racing each other to commit suicide.  Explicitly with Hawkguy/Ronin and Black Widow, but implicitly with almost everyone else, too.  Except for Hulk, who seems to be more mentally healthy now than ever, so good for him.
Honestly, Pepper knew very well that Tony’s been trying to find a way to die for years.  She knew this was coming and I think had (unhappily) accepted long ago that this is how he was going to die sooner or later.
Did Tony name his child after his shitbag cousin??
WHY is the soul stone at the Mountain of Manpain and Fridging?  I can only assume it’s because there’s a nazi at the top.  But showing Nat’s busted-open head at the bottom was completely fucking unnecessary
Speaking of feminism, the part at the end battle where all the ladies teamed up would have been cool if it weren’t so weirdly artificial.  Why did each of these women abandon the fights they were already involved in and the people they’d normally try to fight beside and/or protect to run across the battlefield just to have a girl power moment?  Sure, the gauntlet was there, but only the women came.  It was a cheap nod to the entirely valid complaints of sexism in the franchise and it just made me more irritated by being so shallow and fake.  We could have had this sort of thing all along and then we wouldn’t need to be thrown a tiny bone like that so the MCU can point to it and go “look!  We’re feminist too!”
Also, for all the hype and dudebro complaints, Carol didn’t really do didn’t move the plot along much.  She hits like a freight train, sure, but I expected her to be more central to the plot.
Ugh, and after Widow died and Nebula was replaced, it really was such a sausage fest.  At least Nat was in a position of power and coordination before, but without her it was nothing but dudes, and mostly white too.  Very creative, Marvel.
I’m not convinced that Nat or Cap will stay dead/old.  Hawkguy and Wanda had that lovely little talk about their loved ones not coming back, but Vision’s already got a TV show lined up, so that obviously won’t stick.  And the Sam/Bucky TV show could easily reverse Cap’s aging to bring him back as a viable character any time Evans wants to do it.  I don’t doubt he needs a break and wants to direct more, but these are the kind of roles that just keep coming back.  Genre sci-fi just does that.
I thought the enormous amount of cameos/revisiting every single person we’ve ever met was actually quite well done.  Normally with that sort of thing I get irritated at all the callbacks and tiny “oh look, it’s that guy!”s, but this felt much more satisfying.
Cassie’s older, a Captain Marvel has been hanging out with the Skrulls for a lot of years, and Wanda and Vision are getting back together...can I have some Young Avengers please?
Speaking of Captain Marvel, I’m disappointed we didn’t get to see an older Monica.  There’s plenty of room for Photon in this giant mess.
Also an older Maria, but not as a combatant, just as Carol’s wife.
The giant battle was really hard to follow.  Sometimes I couldn’t even tell who I was looking at before it would switch away to someone else I struggled to recognize through all the dust, smoke, and hordes of aliens.  And I’ve been watching these movies since the beginning and followed the comics for a long time.  If it was hard for me, I can only imagine how, for instance, my parents felt.
This very much felt like a giant comic crossover, complete with inconsistent writing and no one getting quite enough screen/page time.  Because my brain pegged it as a crossover event, I also didn’t feel a lot of emotional connection to it because crossover events exist to be ignored later on.
Also I’ve never had the emotional investment in the movies as I have in the comics.
Thor’s entirely legitimate depression was treated as a joke despite the fact that he has even more reason to be traumatized than even all the other very traumatized people.  Way to shit on his many, many losses and completely understandable survivors guilt.  At least he got to talk to Frigga and it showed that she was fully aware of things and in control as she should have been all along.
Howard was treated way too nicely.  Dude was a shit father.  Tony’s just looking back with rose-coloured glasses.
At the end, I’m so glad Pepper gently taking Peter by the arm and drawing him away wasn’t the usual shitty writing of “allow me to put aside my own pain to mother you, more important male character” and was in fact “please move so I can go to my dying husband, kthnx”
Actually, I was pretty pleased with everyone’s characterizations here, which is rare in franchises where I have years of personal canon interpretations to compare things against.
The theatre broke into applause when Cap picked up the hammer.  It was a good moment.  Weird that Thor wasn’t more attached to it, though, and preferred the new ax to the weapon he’d wielded for a thousand years.
Asgard got a lot of paradoxes out of this movie between Thor stealing his own hammer in Thor 2 and Loki fucking off with the tesseract in Avengers 1.  That said, it’s comics-style canon, so paradoxes and inconsistency aren’t important, frankly.
I’m glad Favreau got to have a little sendoff moment, since it was his movie that started this whole thing to being with.
I’m disappointed there wasn’t a dedication to Stan Lee like there was in Captain Marvel.  Yes, he’s already had that one, but this was the big tentpole movie.
I’d heard about the audio-only end credits “scene”, but I expected more than that.
In the end, it was a good conclusion to the MCU arc that’s been going on for so long.

Your intro right you are dumb as shit. How dare you compare a made up show and it’s fake characters to nazis when she is someone who is Jewish and has family who Holocaust survivors.
I mean if I was Jewish with Holocaust survivors in my family I’d be shit talking nazis at all times of the day, creating characters that are subtle analogies to them and making them completely irredeemable shitbags that get their ass blasted by the end of the show. Steven Universe doesn’t do that. Steven Universe introduces the Diamond Authority, a complete dictatorship of the entire planet run by individuals who kill without a second thought, emotionally manipulate and run zoos full of humans who they deem to be lesser than them, and can just completely control the minds of whomever they choose. They are not to be questioned, nor are they to be challenged in any form whatsoever. Y’know who else did something kinda similar to that? Nazis. And yet at the end of the day, you’re supposed to feel bad for the Diamond Authority, and they somehow become redeemed by the end of everything, even becoming friends with the gems who opposed them for so long. Seems a little odd, doesn’t it? That and someone sending anon hate in this, the year of our lord 2019. That seems weird too.

Tati I just read some SG interviews and I'm so mad. How do they make a show about S*UPERGIRL all about a boy? And it irritates me how they're so proud of how they made Kara's arc all about him without seeing how harmful it is to have a woman do emotional labour to fix a man and then have her enjoy it. I was going to try this show again but I think I'm done now. Sorry for ranting in your inbox lol - m42
No problem, and I’m glad I haven’t read these interviews. It’s too bad that S3 sounds like it will also be consumed by M-E. I hope Alex and Lena have strong plots, at least, and that J’onn and James actually get to exist. Oh, and I am excited for Odette Annable to play Reign. Gotta focus on the good stuff, because it sounds like Kara’s story is a no-go.
So what heck is up with KL not being in Van for what 3 weeks now? I don’t think I’d be worried or a little annoyed at the writers as much if it wasn’t for the fact that he is also apparently flying out to Japan soon, so I’m starting to question why tf is Wally completely MIA? I just don’t trust these writers too much.
:( Yeah, we can definitely write off 4.04 in terms of Wally, because today is the last day of filming. We’ll have to keep our eyes peeled for when he goes to Japan…
Yeah. In 1x22, Eddie saw that there was something between Barry and Iris while Barry was wondering why she’d place her hand on Eddie’s. Eddie had to break it off, because he knew that Iris felt something for Barry, but she was unaware of it.
I still wish Iris had gotten to speak her feelings out loud in 1.22, and of course I think it was nonsense to put them back together in 1.23 just so he could die. But I did love Eddie knowing the truth.
Trump is a closeted (Possibly open now) Nazi shitbag. End of story. The same idiot who thought Puerto Ricans are Mexicans.
Truer words.

American Shithole #55 | Who the Fuck is Candace Owens?
By Eric Wilson
I by no means live for politics, but I have focused on it — nearly exclusively — since 2016, and this is the first I have ever heard of the black, female, conservative, Trump-supporting Director of Communications at the right-wing advocacy group, Turning Point USA.
It’s a crazy news cycle out there, so maybe you missed it this week when she got pwned at the House Judiciary Committee’s hearing on white nationalism in social media.
Rep. Ted Lieu didn’t know her either, but that didn’t stop him from shredding her in front of the nation — using her own words.
I love you, Ted.
“Of all the people that Republicans could have selected, they picked Candace Owens,” Lieu said. “I don’t know Ms. Owens; I’m not going to characterize her. I’m going to let her own words do the talking.”
Then he played the audio tape of Owens expressing her views on Hitler.
The following is the quote taken from that recording:
I actually don't have any problems at all with the word "nationalism". I think that the definition gets poisoned by elitists that actually want globalism. Globalism is what I don't want. ... Whenever we say "nationalism," the first thing people think about, at least in America, is Hitler. You know, he was a national socialist, but if Hitler just wanted to make Germany great and have things run well, okay, fine. The problem is that he wanted—he had dreams outside of Germany. He wanted to globalize. He wanted everybody to be German, everybody to be speaking German. Everybody to look a different way. That's not, to me, that's not nationalism. —Candace Owens
First of all, what the ever-loving fuck, lady?
Secondly, the look on her face is just priceless.
You might be asking yourself, “How the hell does someone like Candace Owens exist in a functioning universe?”
It’s an understandable question.
One of the things about the statistics of big numbers is that you think you are seeing something unusual at times with the data, when in fact that type of phenomena is expected in such large samples. You are going to have some seemingly crazy fucking outliers — but it would be much more alarming if you didn’t.
That’s Candace Owens; and I am sure there are quite a few more than a handful out there just like her.
That doesn’t make her any less of an ignorant, senseless bore though, so seeing her fume and fluster was a real treat! Suck it, Nationalists!
Black fucking Nazis, you say? Will wonders never cease? I tell you, this administration’s ability to unleash every festering boil of stupidity in this country, is absolutely astounding.
Trump is the Pied Piper of Batshit Crazy.
So, who the fuck is Candace Owens?
Well, I did some Googling of course, and apparently I missed an awful lot about Candace. I felt a little uncomfortable afterwards, not only with what I learned (sheesh, she’s fucking horrible), but with myself; for being so ignorant of Ms. Owens.
I spent half the afternoon evaluating my white blindness.
Then I asked around, and the Melting Pot hadn’t heard of her either.
Anyway, I could bore you with how fucking awful she is, but suffice to say that the shitbag who murdered all those people in New Zealand, referenced Owens in his manifesto as an influence.
I can’t imagine that looks good on a resume, but with the GOP it’s probably delicious.
There are far more important issues to address in politics this week, but frankly, I am just too tired to evaluate Bill Barr’s insane personal sacrifice at the altar of the Dark Lord of Orange. It baffles me, the sheer number of high-profile Washington titans willing to commit not only career suicide, but historical seppuku for someone that literally wouldn’t lift a finger for them in return.

American Shithole #21 — Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III: Feckless Runt
by Eric Wilson
"I’ve been doing this work for 25+ years, this is the worst thing I have ever seen." — ACLU Director
Who are we, America?
I knew our Attorney General was inhuman (I had him figured for half man, half Keebler Drow), but this chicken nugget-sized evil leprechaun has finally revealed the tesseract of horror that is his true multi-dimensional identity.
It’s like a fucking Hellraiser film all of a sudden, you know? One in which Pinhead is also a racist wood elf from Alabama.
“We’ll tear your family apart!”
"Also, try my cookies."
At least he’s finally tipped his hand as to why he’s been so willing to take golden toilet-loads of shit from Trump for so very fucking long: as everyone has figured out by now — it was so he could torture terrified brown children.
Yes fellow Americans, let’s just go ahead and continue to unpack the fact that our government ripped children out of the arms of parents — all at the behest of our Attorney General; all of whom are seeking asylum in our country.
Instead of implementing immigration policies that reflect a commitment to at least a base-level of human dignity, Sessions shredded the 5th and 8th amendments, and violated international law to boot by deliberately causing the suffering of children for political, financial and ideological gain.
Let’s sift through the rubble of our own ideals for a minute, as we ruminate on the dead father, Marco Antonio Muñoz, who killed himself last week while being held in detention. He was so distraught after being separated from his family; he could no longer go on living.
Let’s claw through the wreckage of the vehicle that rolled over several times, killing five of its occupants as they were chased at speeds upwards of 100 mph by Border Control this week.
And let’s take another hard look at the faces of those terrified children — the children Jefferson Beauregard Sessions ripped from the only safety they have ever known — and let's try to imagine the world  they are struggling against defenseless, a world where they have experienced little other than hunger and despair. Their fragile hope for a better life snuffed out in an American cage.
I am sure, dear reader, you have heard the audio.
After we put a stop to this — and we will put a stop to this — we don’t get to celebrate much. (Author's Note: We put a stop to this, sort of. Maybe. It might be worse, unsure yet. It's probably worse.)
Congratulations America! Way to not (by official policy via the justice department) torture children anymore! That’s quite the bar we’ve set. I can see the slogan now…
America! We No Longer Torture Your Kids!
Somebody get on that, I smell a t-shirt.
I've let out quite a few sighs of exasperation in the last 96 hours. Let's take a look back at the last few days, shall we?
DHS Secretary Nielsen was rushed to the White House Monday evening for a 5:00 pm emergency meeting and press briefing. Expected by some to resign (she lied days earlier in her statement that there was no policy to separate children from their parents), she instead was clearly instructed to double down on the horrific situation, and place the blame squarely on congress for expecting DHS not to enforce the (imaginary) laws (congress) passed.
So she lied, again. There is no such law of the land that migrant children be separated from their parents. It is a policy laid forth by Jefferson Shitbag Beauregard Fuckface Sessions the Turd — two months ago.
I can’t believe she came out there on the dais of the White House Press Room, and doubled down on that policy. I was half-hoping at some point mid-briefing that she'd break down and say "fuck this, I can't do it," and walk off the stage. Instead she has to live with the guilt of that performance for the rest of her life.
Kirstjen Nielsen put on a good show, but she’s all angles and sharp edges, with a near constant whisper of discomfort troubling her visage — betraying her desperate desire to be anywhere else. The banner of law enforcement hangs heavy on her bony shoulders; like wet rags on a scarecrow.
She should have called in sick; her sacrifice netted her less than nothing. Two days later the president picked up his ball and went home.
Protesters descended on a popular D.C. eatery Tuesday evening, routing Nielsen from her intended meal with shouts of "shame!" What kind of food is served at the trendy Washington hot-spot, you ask? Mexican. I might've went with "we don't dine with Nazi swine," but "shame" works. Well done, D.C.
This event (and perhaps Corey Lewandowski mocking a little girl with Down Syndrome on live t.v.) might have forced the president to take action Wednesday — although terrible behavior from his minions has rarely moved him to action in the past.
Not that there isn't a laundry list of dark deeds to choose from.
This is quite the rogue's gallery of sadistic, spiteful, greedy whelps suckling away at the sour, sagging, man-teats of this presidency.
Top to bottom, this administration strains the definition of pathetic — and we as a nation are pitiful by proxy.
Pathetic and pitiful as we may be, we are not these monsters. Sessions’ soul is clearly now and forever a colostomy bag filled with the offal of child cruelty — let’s never let him forget that — but we are not these monsters. In reminding him, we will hopefully never forget how he has tainted us all.
He’s American Shithole’s Monster of the week.
Congratulations, Jeff. Tough company up there, but you pulled it off, tough guy.
Tough guy that hurts defenseless kids.
Everybody is blaming Trump, but you’re the worst fucking person in the world right now, Jeffery. Look out though, that was Kirstjen Nielsen clawing at your little elven booties.
Of course, Trump didn’t do anything to stop this horror show; not until he was forced to.
He blamed Democrats for a law that doesn’t exist, when all it takes is a google search to find Sessions announcing the new immigration policy several weeks ago.
Not that his base would bother fact-checking information gleaned from atop Mount Horseshit.
Then on Tuesday he likened these fragile human beings to an infestation.
Trump wasn’t taking cues from Sessions though — he hates Jeff almost as much as we all hate Jeff — no, it was our old friend Stephen Miller who was instrumental from the get-go in convincing Trump that separating children from their parents, resulting in irreparable emotional damage and incalculable physiological and psychological trauma, was somehow a quality policy change.
You all remember Stephen, don’t you? Senior Adviser to the President, and Sessions’ former longtime communications director? Ol’ Sporky? Yes, Mr. “Come Hither Face” was hot on the idea of torturing brown kids from the very beginning.
Still, this is Sessions’ baby; or perhaps it's Rosemary’s Baby. This is the prize he so coveted as he silently took all that presidential tweeting in stride. This is what he risked everything just shy of treason for — to hurt children — and, as I imagine we will soon discover, to get filthy rich.
I spent Monday evening watching various talking heads defend the policy. The usual suspects: Kelly Ann Conway, Steve Cortes, Rick Santorum, etc., and at around mid-Cuomo Prime Time (10:30 PST) I had reached my limit.
What struck hardest for me were the interviews in Red States — various patrons supping at the local Waffle House, diner, what-have-you — and to a one, they were all pissed that they were being made to "feel" something about those kids. That's what they talked about. They were mad about the empathy they were experiencing.
Where are we now, America?
I never imagined the mathematics of our situation to be so dire. There are some grim figures out there, some terrifying polls.  Before the election, even well after inauguration, I never imagined the ugly numbers we would be facing on so many different fronts. For fuck’s sake, in a recent poll this week, the majority of republicans supported this immigration policy that treated toddlers like cannon fodder in an ideological war.
Everywhere I turn, if I am not lamenting polling numbers, I am waylaid by the financial gains that are always at the heart of this administration. In this case, it is the influx of wealth for anyone invested in private prisons, where the immigration policies have been a cash cow. For what it costs to house each separated child, they each could stay comfortably in a Trump hotel. That is quite a tidy profit that the private prison industry is reaping.
Beyond the numbers we have SNAFUs at home and abroad that are unprecedented. Untenable, in some cases, and this latest debacle along our border with our neighbor Mexico is certainly not helping anyone — except perhaps Sessions, and the rest of the soulless dirtbags vile enough to invest in private prison interests...
Globally, diplomatically, we now sail where the map is typically marked: Here Be Dragons. Never in the history of our country have we navigated such rough waters with both allies and enemies; we are alone, and adrift at sea.
Economically Trump is setting trade war fires in every country he can pick a fight with; in an obvious attempt to smokescreen the Russia investigation. He would drain our country’s coffers like a tub of dirty bathwater if it meant even a smidgeon of a chance at saving himself.
Morally? Well then... there is the elephant in the room. The cancer of the Trump supporters — blind to evidence, deaf to persuasion, dumb to suffering — these Bronze Age imbeciles are the impenetrable puzzle box. They are morally untethered to any sense of reality, and good ideas seem to harmlessly bounce off their oversized supraorbital frontal ridges like ping pong balls.
They are the black hole at the center of our collective American universe — devouring any conventional efforts to thwart their false god — stray too close with a handful of truth, and it’s drawn beyond the event horizon. Sucked into the nothingness, the emptiness reflected in their eyes.
Starved for victory, thirsty for even a droplet of purpose in dry country — they are still here; their numbers unchanged — rotting from the inside out, festering, baking in the hot sun all along the country roads of a nation that left them behind, long before they were ever born.
What do we do about the Americans that support this madness?
Stay loud as hell, it seems. In a rare turnabout Wednesday, Trump signed an executive order putting a halt to the egregious policy of separating children from their parents. It only took the entire world screaming bloody murder in his ear; we’ll take the win — although it doesn’t really feel, or look like one.
It's been a hell of a week. I don't know what this executive order will mean for families that have already been separated; no help at all would be my estimation. I am not familiar with the legal ramifications of imprisoning entire families together, either. I just know it seems ever-so-slightly less horrifically awful than the day before. It's a win, I guess, but it's clearly still a shit show.
Please get back to your unfinished business of destroying anything left standing in this country with any dignity remaining, Mr. President. Move along. Decent Americans will be busy cleaning up after this new low, the best they can.
Not you, Jeff, you horrible little shit. You’re still going to pay for this, motherfucker. America will not let you torture children and get away with it, you feckless runt.
You are nothing if not representative of Trump's base, I'll give you that.
Speaking of which, after the last couple of weeks we’ve had, I'd like to reiterate my stance on Trump supporters:
Whatever they sell, whatever services they provide, whatever occupation they may hold — don’t support them any longer.
Don’t hire them — ever again.
Someone else out there does what they do, or provides the services they provide; and that American isn’t a raging fucking hard-on that supports the torture of children seeking asylum. That American is not one of the quiet conservatives that know damn well how terribly fucking wrong this all is, yet they have remained silent since the beginning. You know who you are, you fucking cowards.
Those that would support the never-ending list of atrocities this administration keeps deep-fisting our country with don’t deserve our support in any way ever again.
To Hell with family and friends that would embrace this cold, cruel lie.
I know there are some liberals out there that have been hanging on to the idea that if progressives just get a little quieter, the problem will go away. I love you, but no, it won’t. You need to get angry, motivated, and involved.
Engage if you can, but at some point Trump supporters have to feel the pressure that only the stranglehold of an unfavorable market can deliver.
They certainly can't be allowed to successfully silence their most vocal critics. Rob Rogers, for example, is one of many who've lost their jobs expressing their disdain for this president.
If you don’t understand what America — Humanity — is facing from the Trump administration at this point, then your willful ignorance is an enabler of this slow-moving coup. I am not trying to offend you, but if you do understand, and yet can’t be bothered to buck up and attend to your civic duty, then you are a coward, and quite possibly a useless, lazy asshole.
I should know — I used to be all of those things.
Not a coward like the vast majority of Trump supporters, mind you — that propaganda-driven noxious herd of bovine shit-for-brains knows only fear; it is their only driving force, and they are desperate to convince the rest of us that anything other than that is true. Just as they are stalwart in believing anything other than the truth about this unholy administration.
No, you are not one of those cowards, but if you sit this one out, you are a coward just the same.
B.S. Report
The B.S. Report typically focuses on the causes of the brave young adults from Florida and their collective efforts to change gun laws in the USA, but I am fairly certain the Parkland survivors would want every American focused on the terrified, emotionally and physically traumatized, helpless children sitting in cages just north of our border, and elsewhere around our country. I regret not focusing on this crisis last week, or the week before when American Shithole barely mentioned what was going on down there.
Well, America?
Has this soul-destroying administration crossed the motherfucking Rubicon, or not?
(Author’s Note: I would like to offer my thanks to the Doctors and Staff at the hospitals and rehabilitation institutions that have provided my father with another Father’s Day; specifically, one where I had the opportunity to discuss my upcoming visit with the old man, tell him how much I love him, and to tell him about the book I sent him in hopes it would bring laughter — which in my humble opinion, is indeed at times the best medicine.)
Happy Father’s Day, dad. Fuck these fascist scumbags.

Things are mostly good: an update
My own d&d game is going pretty well. It’s not the HOLY FUCK AMAZING thing that I want it to be, but people seem to be enjoying it. I think I can keep it going in a good enough manner for the next year or so before wrapping up the campaign.
The d&d game I’m playing in is also going well. There’s some intra-party conflict but my own character isn’t involved, really. She’s fun to play both in social situations and in combat.
I got to play some Necromunda a couple weeks back. I’d do it again this weekend but instead the local store is having ‘Tanksgiving’ where everyone brings a single tank of 250 points or less and we have a big battle royale. I’m bringing a Fire Prism- probably people are going to stomp me with gladiators and immolators and whatnot, but whatever, I’ll probably do some damage and almost certainly have some laughs, anyhow.
It’s been like a month since the shitbag cousin and her shitbag nazi family moved out, and the subsequent quiet and ability to actually spread out in our own fucking house has been lovely. A bit of hard, tiring work getting this place into a more liveable shape, but at least i’m no longer resentful of doing that work, since it feels like doing it for myself and my actual loved ones, instead of a bunch of shitbag nazis.
Making slow but steady progress toward organizing and condensing my own living space toward the goal of moving to Canada as soon as that’s feasible. Still lots and lots of hurdles to jump there, but some progress is better than none.
Sleeping on a new mattress which is notably better for my back. Should give me a little more energy, or at the very least a bit fewer pauses to grimace and say ‘owww my baaack’ when trying to do things
About my only beefs at the moment are pretty standard: depressive brain, anhedonia, being poor, feeling useless. Not having the money or energy to be a Manic Pixie Dream Fiancee who can just swoop in and make everything better for Athena all at once (please note that this is not at all what she’d want, it’s my own hangup). Missing my old d&d game where I got to play Altanin, wondering how long I should wait before I go looking for a new game to play him in- wouldn’t want to be rude to the dm of that game who is currently running the game where I play my hexblade after the previous campaign (the one with Altanin, among others) kinda fell apart. Don’t want to be rude or look like I’m ‘moving on’ too fast or whatever, but very much do want to play the big lad in a long-term campaign somewhere. The game fell apart in like, April, I think? Is it like Victorian widowhood? Do I get to take off the black veil next April? Idk, it still kinda feels weird since it’d be with a different DM and at least mostly different PCs even if I did drag a couple with me. Also i don’t know a lot of DMs, and none well enough to be like “Hey, yo, will you run a campaign for 20 levels so I and maybe a couple others can get closure for some specific characters?”
Maybe that’ll change at some point, too, idk. Things are largely going well for now, and I’m going to try and focus on that even though my mood itself has been caught in a bit of a downswing of late.

Started episode 12 of ‘13 reasons why’.
I’ll be skipping over bits between the 41st  and 44th minute marks due to the rape scene.
I’ve come to like Alexa ot more than I did in the earlier episodes.
I WANT TO REPEATEDLY PUNCH JUSTIN IN THE FACE. IS THIS FUCK FACE SERIOUSLY MAKING EXCUSES FOR BRYCE RAPING JESSICA?
JUSTIN: NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE FUCKING HOLES IN YOUR FUCKING SHOES, YOUR MUM GETTING BUSTED FOR DRUGS AND HOW HUNGRY YOU FUCKING WERE WHEN YOU GOT KICKED OUT. YOU LITERALLY LET YOUR GIRLFRIEND GET RAPED. YOU MIGHT HAVE AS WELL HAVE HUNG A SIGN AROUND HER NECK READING “PLEASE RAPE ME BRYCE!”. THAT WAS LITERALLY ALL THAT WAS LEFT TO DO ON YOUR PART.
UP UNTIL THIS POINT I WAS HOPING I’D MISSED SOMETHING; LIKE REALLY HOPING HE WASN’T THIS MUCH OF A SHIT. BUT IT TURNS OUT HE’S EXACTLY THE SHITBAG I FEARED YOU’D TURN OUT TO BE.
And don’t even get me started on the fucking “I wanted to protect you” shit.
DON’T.
Jessica: every word you speak makes me want to hug you <3
Justin, GTFO of Jess’ room. She warned you.
Hannah has spoken (on her tape).
That moment when you realise you’ve lost something important and just think you’re dying.
DYING.
FRANTICALLY SEARCHING.
HEART ATTACK.
This is the bit where I would start disassociating, yet Hannah’s driving.
Clay seems high, especially in the hoodie.
Must be the sheer exhaustion.
He’s in Hannah’s dad’s shop.
Tony speaking truth again!
About Clay’s hoodie disguise being shit.
What is Clay’s plan?
1337 = LEET. I hadn’t heard that reference in YEARS.
Nerd kid (can’t remember the name) bought a gun.
Marcus is such an asshat. Ugh. Just when I thought I couldn’t dislike his sexual-assaulty ass any more.
Is Sheri going to call Clay?
OMG NO! Don’t turn yourself in. Not now anyway...
Wow. Fuck you Courtney. Another truly despicable character.
Some audacity she has calling Hannah a liar then painting herself (and the others) as friends and painting everyone but Hannah as some innocent victim.
That other forgettable jock-douche is making enough impact for me to care looking his name up. It’s Zack Dempsey.
Yeah. where ARE Jessica and Justin?
Ryan calling out Bryce on being a rapist again. Yes boy! Yes!
I can’t believe it is taking a gay man to call out Courtney on her obvious internalised misogyny.
Zach just put his foot in his mouth again. Go back to being a forgettable jock-douche. Thanks.
Nerd kid is the only one to come up with a semi-decent plan; at least it will get Bryce’s rapist- ass locked up.
I’ve given Ryan a lot of hate during most of the series but I love him for calling out Courtney about being an uptight, insufferable, cruel asshole again and again and again.
Alex is speaking the truth too. He literally gave everyone exactly what they deserved - at least in a verbally descriptive and extremely summarised way.
Alex has shown so much growth as a character. He’s right up there with Clay in terms of character development.
What’s the nerd kid about to do though?
Mrs Baker, I understand your frustration but please don’t yell at Tony, okay?
That shit Courtney overheard Mrs Baker and Tony discussing his relevance on the list.
Tony’s partner is sweet.
OMG. Tony’s opening up to someone objective about this fucking shit at last.
Oh Tony please don’t cry.
That hug <3
Oh man. Hannah told her parents she lost the money. Poor child. I know these feels all too well. Always feeling like you’re letting everyone down.
“Here’s the scary thing. It looks like nothing.” That’s exactly what my signs of an oncoming crisis look like. Nothing.
When you’re feeling too much and as a result are feeling nothing so you throw yourself into a potentially dangerous or life-threatening situation to make sense of what you’re feeling. Okay. Done this.
Clay, you have become so ballsy and I fucking love you.
He even pulled off the ‘hybrid’ thing without being a stoner. So proud.
[skipped party scene]
I understand Clay is recording now.
[skipped party scene]
CLAY PUNCHED BRYCE. FINALLY SOMEONE PUNCHED THIS MAGGOT RIDDLED, FESTERING TURD IN THE FACE.
Bryce punched him back. Duh.
Bryce is going to fucking kill him.
I started watching the scene. Nope. I cannot do this. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Fast forward that shit now my girl now now now.
It’s gone.
Fuck Bryce though. Just hearing Hannah say “Please Bryce” once - and sound so absolutely terrified - and Bryce reply with “Relax!” made me want to:
kill myself
kill myself again
resurrect
kill Bryce
get really, really angry
vomit
scream
drink alcohol
cut
vomit
burn
scream
I think I’m done.
I shall continue now. One more thing: Clay, please fuck this rapist piece of shit up for me okay? Do it for Hannah. And for me. Please.
Bryce: “She never said ‘no’“. Please, someone just pour a fucking litre of lighter fuel on this dipshit’s head and set it the fuck alight already.
This shit head literally admitted to raping Hannah and he was like “Yeah, potatoe-potato”.
Clay pulled it off. It was so good to see him smile again. I’d honestly forgotten what his smiling face looked like.
IDGAF about Justin’s family drama.
It’s good to see Justin cry like a bitch though. His mom’s Nazi-piece-of-shit squeeze should have squeezed his neck harder.
Hanna’s bruising :’(
Hanna’s started piecing together how her life went wrong.
Jess. Oh girl. Throw that alcohol shit away. You do it. You got this.
The shower. The one that fixes nothing and leaves you feeling even dirtier than ever before because you know you’re never going to feel ‘clean’ again.
Justin’s got a gun, nerd kid has a gun, Jessica has her dad’s gun... everyone in America has a gun, I swear.
SIRENS! IS BRYCE BEING ARRESTED FOR BEING THE SHITTY ASS RAPIST HE IS?
WHO JUST SHOT THEMSELVES IN THE HEAD? NERD KID OR JUSTIN? OR SOMEONE ELSE?
Hannah’s is so completely unwell at this stage :’(
