I was just rewatching "Defend in Place" so as much as I'd love to see them have a lovely domestic and peaceful first exchange of "I love you", I'm now imagining a similar disaster situation. Other than Michael and David's engagement (through Bobby's vicarious proposal lmaooo), I feel like we haven't had other romantic milestones during disasters, at least not that I can think of! It'd probably be a little too much of an homage for Eddie or Chim or another of their loved ones deliver the "I love you" on behalf of Tommy or Buck, but I absolutely love the idea. One of them yelling it at Tommy over the radio "Buck loves you! Evan loves you!" when he's in a dangerous helicopter flight... or even more angsty, already crashed and trying to get him to hang on. Bobby doing it again to just be the consummate gay romantic milestone intermediary would be hilarious.

BUT! Aside from the funny aspect of that callback, the potential of an angsty mid-disaster I love you is so good, and in the more likely scenario where it's actually directly between Tommy and Buck instead of through someone else lol, I could really see either saying it first. It could be a dramatic moment Buck thinks he's dying so he makes sure to tell Tommy before it's too late, or even something less intense where Tommy sighs over the radio "I love you Evan, please be careful" when he's running back into a burning building when it's a little bit inadvisable. I can't really settle on just one idea, because I'll be so happy with so many ways it could play out!

 Hello everyone!!! How are you today??

I almost forgot to post this posepack today haha, but luckily, I remembered, so here's a random little couple posepack for your sims.

My couple posepacks usually have a kiss, but this time it doesn't, although there are a few hugs that I hope can fill that gap.

If I had to name this package, it would be something related to jumping and falling. I did some of these poses a year ago, for an event on Instagram, and they were there in my WIP folder until I said to myself: it's time to bring it to light, and I also had some fall references that I really wanted to recreate and this is the result of all that.

I know that these poses are not for everyone, but I hope that those who are interested will enjoy them... These poses are quite versatile so they can be used to fall from a cliff or a building, or to jump into a pool or a river. They were initially made to jump into a portal, so, you see... they can be used for various reasons haha.

Oh, and I highly recommend to use the mod TOOL by twistedmexi with them, 'cause I made them float in the air but they're not too high.

Blowtorch!

Maxi's worlds emptied of era specific stuff – made for simmers who wants themed hoods of their choice.

So, you found T.O.O.L, the super useful mod by Twisted Mexi, and learned how to decorate your sim world.

But there is this problem with Maxis houses and items, which do NOT fit in your sim world. So far, the most used method has been to hide them, as in either move them away (if even possible) from sight or use a hider/override to make them invisible. That method has its limits, is very tedious (need to find, make an override, ect, and there are SO MANY items)

Blowtorch has another approach. It takes out the items (houses, vehicles, modern deco, well - all silly deco really) from the world. You can then place nicer deco or game items instead.

The items are not hidden from catalogue, so you can place the same items back but in a different place if you so wish. Or use cc deco. Make the world medieval, or Victorian, or sci-fi, or whatever.

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

This mod edits the preloaded deco in the world. It changes game files – and the changes will affect all your saves, old and new. If you decide that you want the deco back, you can do it either with the GAME REPAIR function or using the backup of the original folders that I included in the mods folders.

You can either use all my edited files – or the ones you want. If you for example want Willow Creek to be as it always has, but want a blowtorched Oasis Springs, just delete the Willow Creek files before installation, and keep Oasis Springs.

I have blowtorched almost all the hoods in the worlds, both EP and GP: s (See list in Documentation PDF for exceptions.) If you don’t have all EP/GP I recommend to delete the ones you don’t have before installing.

(Save the zip with the mod somewhere safe so you can add new worlds when you add a new EP/GP with a world.)

Here are some general rules I went by:

- All landmarks, architecture deco, street deco, vehicles, with special effects - blowtorched

- Functional objects: outside tables, playground items, and such – blowtorched. Place them again where you want them!

- All lights, both streetlights and built in hood lights, blowtorched.

- All palm trees, ever pink trees, wispy modern beeches, and other modern plants, blowtorched. (I of course kept the palm trees in Sulani and Selvadorada)

- ALMOST ALL THESE THINGS (not the built in lights) are still available in the catalog (debug, live edit) items though. So, if you still want a modern, but DIFFERENT hood, you can place them again, as you want them. This is a big advantage compared to hiders – those usually hide the items also from the catalogue.

- Visual effects belonging to vehicles and other stuff mentioned above, blowtorched. No modern yachts, no airplanes.

- The lights are gone. The world will be dark at night if you don’t place streetlights or such.

WHAT I KEPT

I kept the seasons stalls, where they are available (if you have the Seasons EP.) They can also be placed, but as they are in conditional layers (changes with the seasons) this can't be done by placing them manually.

I kept all spawners. All the fishing spots and all the bugs, frogs, dig sites, wild growing plants.

Lighting mod included

This mod also includes the Sunblind lighting mod by Softerhaze. Lighting mods also change these files, so I added Sunblind with the creator's permission. Read more about their mod here.

(You do not need to download or install the mod; it is included in the Blowtorch mod.)

If you want another lighting mod or no lighting mod, you need to edit the files manually.

This is done by replacing the resources “Sky Box Texture Data” and “World Timeline Color”.

ECO LIFESTYLE NOTE!

Unfortunately, the Evergreen Harbor world that came with Eco Lifestyle (EP 9) has some special evil magic and the deco needs hiders anyway. If you play with that world and want it to be BLOWTORCHED, install the file ELHoodHidersMerged in your Mods folder.

I also recommend his Better Build/Buy mod, and his toggle mods, especially the Strangerville Story Toggle on if you want to use Strangerville as a normal world. And also his that enabled build/buy on the Secret Lab lot – in new saves.

Q&A about Blowtorch mod

1. Can I use this on my old saves?

Answer: Yes. The mod does not affect the saves, or your CC, or anything other than the game files in the Windows directory. You can easily uninstall the mod by using the backup files (included) or do a Game Repair.

2. Why are there stuff not deleted? Annoying modern fences in Windenburg Ugly Modern Business district, for example?

Answer: some items are a part of the world mesh and is not yet possible to edit. If there will be a solution later, I will update the mod.

3. Will I have to update the mod after patches and new expansions?

Answer: Yes. If the patch/ep/GP does not include a new world, you just reinstall the mod (see instructions below) as you installed it the first time. I will make updated versions asap when new worlds are released.

4. I don’t have EP X or Y – can I use the Blowtorch mod?

Answer: Yes, but I recommend deleting the folders for EP/GP you don’t have. See list in the PDF-file with documentation.

5. Does this mod clash with Timeless mod? Answer: No, but it makes Timeless obsolete. Timeless hides stuff - Blowtorch removes the same stuff.

6. How about mods like Nandos Egypt (Strangerville) or The Sense Medieval's Medieval Windenburg? Answer: if you have a mod that changes one hood or one world, and want to keep them as they were, don't install the Blowtorch files for that world/hood. The Senses default replacements are not affected.

7. Should I keep my hiders of stuff used as hood deco? Answer: Better to take them out. This mod eliminates the need for hiders.

Where to find nice themes hood deco to use with Blowtorch?

You can basically use any item, from game or CC, to decorate hoods. Try out the options with T.O.O.L to change the size of objects!

I already posted some Hood Deco CC – and I have much more to come. I have been converting/editing/creating and preparing hood deco from Sims Medieval, Sims 2 and Sims 3 and other games – my CC is medieval/historical themed but I hope for other creators to add to the hood deco options in the future.

It would be a normal day.

It would be when Bobby's back as captain and things are easier.

And maybe they both have stories to share when they get home. Interesting calls with cats stuck in trees and awkward mishaps that lend to something more lighthearted and embarrassing than dangerous.

And they're cooking together.

Maybe in Buck's kitchen; maybe in Tommy's. Something Buck's been meaning to make. Something Bobby recommended Buck for a date night.

And they're not quite in sync. And Tommy's not as good of a cook as Buck. But Buck's a great teacher and Tommy's ready to learn. They move in step like a not-quite-coordinated dance; laughing at every time they bump into each other; yelling, "Behind!"; joking and talking about their days.

There's something low in the background.

Something interesting.

Maybe "So Glad I Found You" by Jalen Ngonda or "Bless the Telephone" by Labi Siffre.

And it's easy.

So easy.

Like breathing.

Maybe Tommy says it first. A panic in how he freezes, wondering if he overstepped. Buck was supposed to set the pace after all, and he had been so good at allowing Buck that.

But Buck does that sigh.

That smile.

The one he does when he sees Tommy.

And it's gushing, it's absolutely emotional and everything as he tells Tommy, "I love you too."

And they stop for a moment.

Smiling at each other.

Utterly giddy.

As if they never thought they would feel like this before.

And then they'd notice something's burning. And scramble to try to salvage their dinner. Laughing and smiling and a little misty-eyed as they continue their relaxing evening together.

Sam isn’t sure how they got here.

The day started normal enough. No urgent calls in the middle of the night, no world-ending catastrophes, not even the odd nightmare they both still get sometimes.

Scratch that, the day started incredibly well, actually. Sam let himself sleep in, and was awakened near noon with soft brushes of lips and the rasp of a beard against his neck, Bucky’s deep voice in his ear, his hand slipping under Sam’s loose t-shirt, then lower and lower.

They didn’t leave the bed for another hour.

Now, with the sun in the middle of the sky and burning bright, Sam is standing on the boat, hand on his hips, staring incredulously at Bucky, who has his arms crossed across his chest and a stubborn expression on his face.

“What,” Sam asks again, “are you talking about?”

“I fell first.”

Sam takes in a deep breath. “No.”

Bucky’s face gets a little redder, and Sam doesn’t know if it’s the sun or his indignation.

“What do you mean, no? I’m telling you!”

“It doesn’t make sense. You didn’t even want to talk to me for six months!”

Bucky’s face does a complicated thing, and something twists painfully in Sam’s stomach.

“I did,” Bucky says softly, a little brokenly. “Want to talk to you. I wanted to see you. I just… didn’t think it was good for you. Thought you were checking on me outta pity.”

“Pity for myself, maybe,” Sam says, looking away at the open ocean, something bitter burning its way through him.

The day is beautiful, endless blue skies, gentle waves rocking the boat and a light breeze, the world quiet and safe for a change, and here they are, arguing about something that doesn’t even matter, opening up old wounds like they don’t know how to let go of the hurt.

“It doesn’t matter,” he says, because it doesn’t; it shouldn’t.

Bucky makes a frustrated noise and steps closer to Sam. And when Sam doesn’t turn to him, he says, “Hey, look at me.”

With a sigh, Sam does. Bucky’s face keeps doing these fleeting complicated things, so many emotions trying to make it to the surface.

“I’m sorry,” he says, “for every second I wasn’t there for you when you needed me. I can’t take it back, no matter how much I wish I could, but I can promise that it won’t ever happen again, that I’ll always be there for you from now on. Long as you want me, sweetheart, because I’ve loved you long before I knew what it was, long before I knew I ever could.”

Sam’s vision gets a little blurry, his breath catching in his chest as he bites his lip to hold back the pitiful sound trying to escape.

Bucky’s hands come up to cup his face, his touch so tender it hurts. “Hey, no, don’t cry. Lord, this is not at all going how I wanted.”

And that makes Sam laughs. “And what were you trying to do?”

Bucky sighs, letting his hands drop to Sam’s waist and pulling him closer. “Was trying to be romantic, had this big romantic speech ready, then ya started arguing with me. Should’ve known better, really.”

Sam snorts, head resting on Bucky’s chest and arms around his waist.

It’s a little too hot for them to be standing this close, with the sun beating down on them, but this closeness was a reassurance Sam cannot step away from. Something he’s been craving long before he realized it, or wanted to admit it.

And now, it doesn’t matter who wanted it first, because they both have it, and that’s all that matters.

Still, though—

“I fell first,” Sam says.

“You’re wrong,” Bucky says, voice cracking with humor, “but that’s okay. At least you’re pretty.”

Sam gives his side a pinch for that.
