"W-What the hell is happening?" she muttered, her body that was moving against her will.

"It's blood…bending." Zuko gasped. His arms moving in an unnatural well, as well.

"Bloodbending?" she mumbled

She felt a red warm liquid splash her in the face.

Soulmate AU - A world where soulmates have the ability to transform into their soulmate’s favorite animal. Katara is very ready to have a long talk with her soulmate when she gets the ability to turn into a turtleduck while Sokka is a freaking dragon.

Zuko is a glass sculpture artist, Sokka is a robotics engineer and they live in the same set of flats. They have a rivalry and hate each other due to misunderstandings, pranks and usual neighbours stuff. But after breaking his leg and being pretty much housebound due to an out of service lift, Zuko becomes his unwitting baby sitter. Well... after annoying each other every day and slowly becoming friends, they grow closer and closer. Yes, enemies to friends to lovers!

Scene above, Zuko is having a wobble about a big art commission he's vying for and needs Sokka to bring him back around.

Au idea where the gaang kids trying to setup their uncle sokka with azula. Mainly Bumi's idea and they just all go along with it, while Izumi thinks it's not going to work cause even if azula and sokka are cordial with each other she can still hear the hint of disdain and sarcasm when they talk to each other. Then there's Lin who says Sokka's heartbeat spike up whenever Azula is around while Tenzin will argue it could be out of fear 😭. Kya will just say fuck they should atleast try.

Ozai: *stands behind Sokka*

Sokka: That a responsible teenager would do after getting approval from her father! Not that I've ever asked her not to get approval!

Sokka, turning to Ursa: Why am I still talking?!

Ursa: *shakes head*

Ozai: Why are you in my house? Why haven't you gotten a haircut? We all got questions.

Zuko: *Opens the door*

Ursa: There he is! One of our two new drivers!

Zuko: Yeah, only one of us passed.

Ozai: You'll get it next time.

Zuko: No I'm the one who passed!

Ursa: I'm so happy for you! *hugs him*

Sokka: Wait if you passed that means Azula failed. Azula doesn't fail anything.

Everyone:

Everyone: !!! *starts ripping down the decorations*

Kiyi: Burn it! Burn it all!!!

Azula, barging in: Well I failed! Guess I know what it's like to be a loser now.

Azula: You know what I'm talking about Kiyi.

Kiyi: Ouch. I would call that a drive-by if you had your license.

Ursa: So what happened?

Azula: I'll tell you what happened! The DMV discriminates! Yeah, they only give licenses to people who can make left hand turns!

Ursa: They do come in handy when you want to go left.

Azula: Why would you purposely turn into oncoming traffic when you can go up the block and make three rights?!

Azula: Who needs their license anyway? Am I right?

Notes for my Sokkla Celebrity AU (Azula's side)

This AU idea came to me earlier this year (like May??) and wouldn't leave me alone so I wrote all the notes related to it.

I then wrote a Sokkla fic based in this universe, which I struggled a lot with. To motivate me to finish it post it on AO3, I decided to share the notes of that universe. 

So here are the Azula-centric notes for it. I'll post the Sokka-centric shortly and in a few days, the fic.

*Note, all the songs/artists are references in style and/or mood/vibe and/or lyrics. I do not think it would be the exact same song if in that Universe Azula would sing it but it just gives an idea

Without further ado,

ATLA Celebrity AU (Azula-centric)

Azula 0-12

Azula is a child actor with Zuko, gets more roles than her older brother

The whole Sozin family are renowned actors and/or singers (Ozai was an okay actor, Iroh was an amazing actor and singer, and Ursa was an amazing singer who didn't get that much recognition until she got married to Ozai)

Ozai is still very much a piece of shit, setting his children against one another

Ursa doesn't help as she unconsciously supports Zuko more, gives him his love for music and playing guitar & piano

By the time Zuko is 13 (Azula 11) he focuses on music

Azula being always pitched against him, starts dancing & is good at it 

Still, the fire siblings are closer than in canon; Zuko teaches Azula to song-write and express her feelings through lyrics

Meanwhile:

Ursa is trying to divorce Ozai, but Ozai (and the Sozin family) is having none of it because of the image it would give them

Lu Ten dies (suicide, the pressure of being an actor, Iroh is never the same, remove himself from the limelight)

Azula 13 - 16

At Ozai pressure, forms a girl group with Mai and Ty Lee (think: Morning Musume & e-girls). Mai is a better singer, and Ty Lee is a better dancer but Azula is still made the leader. She puts immense pressure on herself to be better than them. Does fewer acting gigs but is known as an actress.

Ozai hurt Zuko (scar-like in canon?) to the media they say it's an accident but behind closed doors, it gives Ursa the out she needed. She leaves with Zuko (they go stay with Iroh) intending to get Azula too but:

1- Ozai fights her even more to keep Azula

2-Ozai makes sure to make Azula believe Ursa left her because she doesn't want her

Azula dates publicly actor Chan; gives him all her firsts "to get rid of them", and breaks up soon after

Azula 17-18

The girls make more sexual dances/songs. Mai and Ty Lee are not comfortable but Azula thrives in the "sex sells" mentality (Ozai influence)

Azula snaps at reporters that ask her about Zuko which gives her a "bad girl" personality which she also thrives in (somehow her doesn't give a fuck attitude boosts her popularity)

The girls have an ugly fallout making their 4th album and get kicked out of the agency (to the girls, it looks like Azula told her father and to Azula, it looks like they left her, but it is all Ozai) 

Zuko starts a solo career under Avatar Industries (they have the Gaang also and Zuko makes friends)

Before releasing his first single, he tries to contact Azula but she's having none of it: she believes Zuko also abandoned her

Rumours about Ozai's shady money deals come out and Azula has to lay low

Azula 18

Mai and Zuko start to date in the public eye and Mai makes one (1) comment about the girls' split which makes the media go into a frenzy

Azula's mental health starts to slip, stops acting altogether after she snaps at a director

Ozai makes Azula go see Zuko telling her to "check what the rivals are doing" but Azula just misses her brother so takes the occasion

Sokka is there also because of my Sokkla agenda to support Zukko

Azula actually has a good time with her brother, they mostly talk about music, and Azula can mock him (friendly) about his cheesy music (think early Shawn Mendes) She also surprisingly has fun with Sokka

(somehow develops a tiny crush that she destroys as soon as she hears Sokka mentioning his girlfriend)

The next day, a rumour explodes that Sokka cheated on Suki (Olympic Athlete) with Azula because Azula seduced him 

Even if Sokka, Azula, and Zuko deny it, the rumours spiral

Azula writes her frustration in a song about how the media portrays her as evil even if Sokka gets less heat. Ozai made Azula release it as her first official solo single (think Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy")

It explodes and Azula releases her first solo album, the second single from the album is actually about Zuko (think Rihanna's "Bitch better have my money" energy, but saying things like; you left me and I trusted you) and it does very well on the chart

Azula 19

Azula is about to go on tour when Ozai gets arrested for money laundering

Her mental health slips even more as they discover his other shady practices and an "anonymous source" relates the abuse Azula & Zuko got

Her tour gets cancelled

Azula gets into a mental psychosis and believes it's her mother who said it to hurt her career

The media tries to get a scoop about it

Azula almost drowns in her bath; Zuko rescues her last-minute

She gets hospitalized; diagnostic OCD, and stays for 8 months

Writes a lot while she's hospitalized

Zuko visits often, and they get a heart to heart, Zuko is also followed for GAD and PTSD

Ursa visits, the first time it makes Azula slip, the second she screams at Ursa. After, the doctors tell Ursa it's best if she doesn't come

Azula 20

After she gets released, (and followed by a therapist) Azula discovers that a lot of rumours were actually set up by her father, like the cheating scandal

(He wanted to make it seem like Azula was the one trying to reach out while Zuko was the one pushing her away, thus chipping his "cute awkward turtleduck" persona he has but when Ozai sees the pictures of Azula laughing at Sokka's joke, another idea comes to his mind)

And the "anonymous source" was actually Ozai's entourage in an "if I'm going down, you're going down with me" attempt

Azula is 100% heartbroken but also 300% mad

She writes a lot of songs

At some point, Zuko tries to make her reconnect with Mai & Ty Lee and even if Azula knows most of the conflict was amplified by her father, she's scared to contact them

Zuko manages to make Azula meet Ty Lee and one thing brings another, they write a song together which they never did because the agency used to write/decide what they sang

They invite Mai to join and through songwriting, they do an album as a group (think ChloexHalle's album "Ungodly Hours")

They become better friends but decide to officially split as a band after the release of the album (Mai & Ty Lee's careers are going great anyway)

(Mai & Zuko break up and might come back together I dunno, haven't thought that far about those 2)

Azula 21

Before releasing the album, Azula announced on social media her mental health conditions and said it was the biggest reason why she was out of the public eye for 2 years.

She tries the best she can to avoid mentions of her father

The girls release the album and it does well, they are praised for their new maturity and powerful vocals

Azula works on a solo album but even with all she has written, she is stuck.

She asks for help (in a very Azula way) from Zuko and she officially meets the Gaang

Azula and Aang become weirdly fast friends

Finished by releasing an EP that is 100% about her father that she conceals as break-up songs (think Naika's EP "Transitions")

Her mother announces she's pregnant with her boyfriend's baby, it lowkey makes Azula spiral for a few weeks, writes about it

Azula 22 

Azula wins prices for her EP and with the album with the girls

She still has a "bad girl" persona (she loves to call herself a bad bitch) to the media but the way she talks about her mental health makes her relatable - she's flippantly talking about tho which a lot called "refreshing"

As she hangs out more with her brother + the Gaang, her crush on Sokka comes back, especially now that he is single, though she doesn't want to act on it

To her surprise, she writes a love song that is just that, a love song (think Selena Gomez's "Souvenir")

Because in the song she sings about blue eyes, the media/internet speculate that it's about Sokka which she denies (even if it's true)

She does a fun danceable song with Aang (think Bruno Mars & Cardi B's "Finesse remix"), surprising everyone

She does a lot of featuring that summer, with other artists but she cannot see what she wants for an album

Something with her father's sentence happens (it got almost revoked or something) which makes her revisit all the (other) songs she has about him

By Your Side: Sokkla Saturdays 2023

Stories of Azula & Sokka giving in and deciding to be together. They stay by each other's sides before it's too late, before regret says hello. Spending their lifes together comes before certain other priorities. With patience and struggle, they can finally reach their well deserved dream.

Day 1: Azula Joins Team Avatar

The island they flew to was nice. Full of greens and valleys.

All of them took their camping equipment. Sokka helped Azula with… well she only had a sleeping bag given by him. But he made a tent for her too, since unlike on the Western Air Temple, there was no roof here.

“So, it’s done Princess.” he said winking. She rolled her eyes at him, to mask how much she liked it when he did that.

The flight on Appa was eventless.

Katara cooked since it was already dusk. They ate together as always and Azula complained about how she needed to take a bath and that there were no bathrooms.

“There is a waterfall back there, we have soap.” Katara said.

Azula looked at her as if Katara went mad.

“You truly expect me to wash just like that with a simple soap?”

“We do that all the time.” Katara shrugged provokingly.

Azula grimaced. “And with him around too boot?” she pointed with her chin at Sokka next to her.

“Hey! I will stay here!” he squeaked.

“Yeah, like a believe you.” she replied.

“I would never want to sneak and take a look at your... your... yeah you!”

Toph coughed at his comment since it was a blatant lie, and he blushed.

The night arrived and Team Avatar slept soundly. Sokka slept in front of her tent like every night. Zuko wanted to sleep there, since he is her brother.

“She is my sister, why are you sleeping in front of her tent or room all the time?” he asked Sokka an eyebrow raised.

“Well, my words have more weight in this group than yours, and it was my idea to take her with us!” Sokka retorted.

Azula couldn’t sleep that night. Her mind was full of unpleasant thoughts. What was her father thinking of her? He knew Zuko wanted to join the Avatar, but she didn’t. Did he send his soldiers to look after her, thinking she decided to go with her brother?

She left her tent, carefully walking by Sokka's sleeping figure. He wasn’t as good as a guard as he presented himself to be. In the morning she would rub it into his face.

Her feet carried her to the cliffs. The soft breeze of the waterfall was hitting her face. Rain started pouring down vastly soft and she welcomed it.

Sudden footsteps alerted her that she wasn't alone. Was it Sokka or could it be someone else she wondered.

“Azula, it’s raining, you’ll catch a cold here.”

Yes, it was Sokka of course.

“I wasn’t trying to run away if that’s what feared you.” Azula said without turning around to see him.

“I didn’t think that.”

Sokka stood next to her, not bothering to keep distance. She looked up to him. The usual challenge wasn’t there right now. Sokka frowned.

“What’s eating your mind?” he asked her softly.

“What’s eating my mind?” she chuckled hysterically.

“I am the Princess of the Fire Nation, and I am travelling around with the Avatar and his friends, have to bath in rivers, my brother openly betrayed our father and you’re asking me what’s eating my mind?” she said.

Sokka looked at her sadly.

“I am sorry Azula. I never meant for you to feel uncomfortable.” he spoke, “I just…”

“You just wanted to capture me and show me the so-called truth about my nation and how great you guys are?” she said harshly.

“You know what? It’s partly working. I never laughed more than in these last days despite everything. My thoughts keep travelling to my father, and I hate the standards I live in currently, but I am… I… don’t feel uncomfortable with …”

Sokka waited eagerly for her to finish her sentence.

“You.” she said looking at him earnestly with those gorgeous eyes of hers.

“And it’s angering me deep down. I just… I…” she was lost for words when she felt two hands holding her face gently, giving her cheeks warmth.

A raindrop landed on one of his dark lashes. It looked poetic right now she thought to herself.

His thumbs caressed her cheeks.

“Since the moment I caught you, I wished for you to stay by our side, by my side. Something inside me urged me to take you with us, called to believe in you, to protect you. Those things intensified these last days.”

“I will always be right next to you if you need me. Even if you don’t, I will still be there for you.”

She could tell that his words were spoken earnestly.

“Sokka” his name came out as a whisper.

“Azula” he whispered back.

She put her hands on his by almost by reflex, realizing she could feel his breath.

Their lips joined desperately but thorough and soft still. It was the sweetest taste ever. Azula put her hands on his cheeks now as well when the kiss intensified.

Both of them wanted to this from the beginning. Both of them longed for the other. Right now, this felt right like nothing ever felt before.

Even if they would have loved to continue the kissing, they parted still, panting lightly. Azula’s eyes were still closed.

“If you think this through, and you still decide to go, if you are sure about it, I… I will not hold you back anymore.” Sokka said.

“You won’t?” she asked opening her eyes to look into his piercing blue one’s.

“I won’t even if it will be difficult for me. I so hope you will stay with us Azula. But I have no rights to hold you back.” His heart broke at the thought.

They felt a bond from the beginning. But something touched her heart and changed within Azula that night. She enjoyed being near to Sokka, which made her situation easier and more comfortable. And no matter what, she would see that no harm would come to him.

The rain stopped and they walked back to the tent. Azula let the entrance to her tent open, which enabled her to see Sokka right in front of it in his sleeping bag. He smiled at her. Even though it was dark, they fell slowly asleep while looking at each other.

Does Sokka get frustrated trying to reach for things in higher shelves while in Azula’s body?

He absolutely 100% does! It's behind the scenes (for now) but it is the bane of his existence because he usually forgets that this is a problem he now has. And since he is not accustomed to being short like Azula he does not have the Short People Creativity and Problem Solving™. Like Azula has mastered propelling herself with fire just high enough to reach things. She knows how to scramble up shelves and how to balance on very odd objects. Sokka has not mastered any of these arts yet.

Avatar AU - Azula and Zuko wind up in BSS when they’re very young (4 and 6) and Long Feng decides to raise them in Lake Laogai, keeping them hidden in the place and only allowing them to leave once or twice a week. Flash forward 10 years later, when the Gaang arrive looking for Appa and find both him and two firebenders.

Soulmates start seeing in colour when they meet for the first time AU where Sokka starts to see colour when they try to swap Mai's brother for Bumi in Omashu and he doesn't notice until things die down that omg he's seeing colour now.

All the while, he's worried that it's because of Mai bc it can't be Ty Lee since he's heard that soulmates are nothing alike (false) and it can't be Azula bc Azula. He's worried at first bc Mai is Fire Nation.

After the Boiling Rock, he's worried bc Mai is Zuko's girlfriend, and bros don't do that to bros.

Then when they have a chance to talk, he finds out that Mai has always seen colour since she was a kid (and so has Zuko) while Ty Lee can't see colour. Then Ty Lee says that Azula mentioned being able to see colour shortly after they reunited in Omashu.

So now Sokka is worried bc his soulmate turns out to be Azula and she's Zuko's sister...and she's Azula.
