NSFW Hancock HCs
➼ Word Count » 0.4k ➼ Warnings » Knife Play, Bondage, MDNI ➼ Genre » NSFW, Romantic
Hancock is 100% a switch and is down to do whatever with whoever. My man ain't picky.
He likes to take things a bit slower at the very start of the relationship so that he can get a feel for what the boundaries and feelings are, but he'll quickly begin to speed it up once he's found 'em.
He loves running his knife across your bare skin. There’s something so mesmerizing about watching the sharp tip glide gently over your cheek. It gives him such a power trip and he loves the look of submission glaze over your eyes.
On the flip side, however, he loves it when you wrap your fingers around his throat and throw him onto the nearest surface. He adores it when you grab him and pin him down roughly.
He immediately gets horny whenever you get a good shot at someone. Something about the confidence and the violent nature of it all never fails to get him to grab your hands and pull you tightly against him.
He loves seeing you in his clothes. Something about seeing his coat draped over your shoulders makes him want to leave kisses over your entire body.
Hancock has a thing for blindfolding you and gently tracing his calloused fingers over every scar and blemish you could possibly have. He loves being able to focus all of his attention on these areas, and he especially likes seeing you squirm at the sensation.
His eyes are always filled with an almost obsessively adoring way whenever you're even slightly in control.
Sometimes when your fucking he'll lick your cheek.
Hickies are a must with him. He'll cover you in them, he doesn't care. If you were to ever give some to him, though, he'd be the happiest ghoul in Goodneighbor.
He loves cradling your face in his hands and making out with you, especially after the more dangerous quests.
His favorite position has got to be doggy style. There's something about tying your hands behind your back and pounding into you mercilessly that makes him feel so animalistic.
The one thing he'll never do is include any drugs with sex. He's heard way too many stories of people getting hurt because of mishaps like that and always makes sure you're both sober before initiating anything.
Aftercare with him doesn't entail very much. He prefers just laying there with you in his arms as you two share a blunt and talk. He always looks forward to the vulnerability of this moment and couldn't ever ask for anything more.

How Much Territory Are the Fallout Player Characters Actually Micromanaging: An Analysis
I did some amateur research to figure out which of the Fallout protagonists (specifically 3, NV, and 4) have a reasonable area of land to constantly traverse. I used Apple Maps to find the straightest possible walking path from a point on either end of the game map, then multiplied the north-south and east-west figures to get an approximate square mileage. Since none of the walking paths were completely straight, these numbers will all be a little higher than actual. BUT the game maps also don’t completely correlate to the real-life locations, so consider these numbers to be estimates.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Commonwealth: Around 600 square miles. This is honestly pretty manageable, especially if you’re teleporting or helicoptering all over the place. It would be exhausting, but you could theoretically get across the map in a day with time to spare for questing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Capital Wasteland: Around 800 square miles. Fairfax is the halfway point; very few locations on the western half of the map actually correspond to anything in real life. The exception is the cavern Little Lamplight is based on, which would make the game map 100 miles long. The map definitely doesn’t extend that far into Virginia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
New Vegas: Kind of hard to calculate at this scale, but we’re looking at a little under 3000 square miles! Through. the Mojave. Desert. The Courier is really going to have to commit to a course of action before traveling, because they won’t be coming back for about a week.
If you’re a fanfic writer, remember that you don’t owe realism to anyone. BUT, if realism is something you care about for your writing, keep these distances in mind!
(Sequel: distance from game maps to DLCs)

it’s kind of crazy that both fallout new Vegas and fallout 4 have the same driving force for the first half of the narrative (find the guy who wronged you and make him pay) but Benny is so much more memorable and narratively interesting than Kellogg.
It’s a matter of a strong character foil versus a weak one, in my opinion.
Benny and the courier are very much alike. They are both ambitious people who are willing to do anything possible to stack the odds in their favour. Honestly, Benny and the courier are the same card, reversed.
The Sole Survivor and Kellogg are also intended to be character foils. The game tries to convince us of this with the scenes in Kellogg’s mind, where we see that he ‘isn’t so different’ from our protagonist after all. But we don’t know anything about Kellogg other than his backstory. How can he parallel the protagonist if we don’t know which traits he has? Which traits the two of them share?
(As a side note, I wish Fallout 4 had touched way more on the ‘Man/Woman Out of Time’ thing. The protagonist being frozen in the past + Kellogg being functionally immortal would’ve been really cool to explore! Especially in the context of grief!)
In the end, I think the reason Benny is a more powerful character foil is that he doesn’t disappear from the world when you kill him. The chairmen can mourn him, House will comment on it, and even NPCs across the Mojave will talk about Benny’s death!
In Kellogg’s case, the protagonist is basically the only person who knows he even existed! Once he’s dead HE’s DEAD! He disappears completely from the narrative! As soon as you leave fort Hagen, the game doesn’t bother looking back.
that’s why Benny is a more haunting force for new Vegas; particularly an independent courier. You are Benny’s legacy because you are what he leaves behind whether he likes it or not. People remember him as the couriers victim. Meanwhile, nobody remembers Kellogg at all. The memory of who Kellogg was dies with you, and you can choose to forget him.

[Deacon Idolizes You]
➼ Word Count » 0.6k ➼ Warnings » None ➼ Summary » Headcanons based on how Deacon treats you once Idolized.
Tumblr media
He might actually disappear for a minute after he opens up to you about Barbara. Having his whole past spread out on the table for you to see is incredibly uncomfortable for him and he's gonna need some time to get used to having all that open to you.
Sometimes you’ll just find him sleeping on your couch. If he needs to get away for a minute he’ll go crash at your place for a bit. He almost hopes that you’ll show up and so the two of you could talk or something. It always makes him feel so much better when you do.
He somehow got a hold of matching leather jackets for you both to wear and always does his best to incorporate them into his disguises.
Deacon will bring you pre-war board games and ask if you could teach him the rules because the instructions had been burned decades ago and he desperately wants to learn.
He's actually really interested in fashion and will gladly put together a great outfit for you whether you asked for it or not. He also just loves sitting in a room and brainstorming disguise ideas together.
He's really curious about a lot of things from before the war and you'll find that he likes to randomly drag you into different areas and ask you tons of questions. He's especially interested in cartoons and other forms of media and is constantly questioning why they existed or what they usually had on them
He's weirdly good at spas? Massages, and manicures, and all that. He'd give you one if you asked/felt comfortable enough.
He loves sneaking around Goodneighbor or Diamond City with you and watching any fights or drama that happens throughout the day. It reminds you of when you used to watch reality TV shows back before the war and he always has the best comments.
He likes doing graffiti with you on random buildings in the Commonwealth. He’s actually really good at art but refuses to utilize that talent, instead, he just draws stick figures everywhere.
The two of you spent a day disguised as the other to see how long you can get away with it. (it wasn't very long)
He’ll ask if it could be possible for the two of you to set up small safe houses in some of your settlements for any passing synths, although, he always ends up making them look like man caves than temporary homes.
He'll leave these random lanterns all over the place with little jokes or messages carved underneath them. He does this so that if he ever disappears for a minute, you can go look at those to remind yourself that he doesn't hate you, he just needs a bit of time.
Whenever you’re on a mission, he’ll give you both the worst codenames on purpose to annoy you.
He once tried to see what the most outrageous lie you both could pull off was. Needless to say, you both ended up getting in a lot of trouble with Dez because it was 'irrelevant to your mission’.
He's great when he's around, and still loves you when he leaves. In all seriousness, it's been so long since he's had a connection like this with someone, and is so incredibly grateful for you and all that you do for him. He'll show his appreciation in whatever way he can, just understand that you've got to be patient with him while he gets used to it all.

It's Valentine's day! You there, browsing the tag. Have you ever thought 'I like Nick Valentine, but I wish he starred in two novels lovingly written in the prose style of a detective noir from 1943, and so help me God, I don't want to pay a cent for it?' No! Nobody has! What an unusually specific dream!
But it's too late, I've already written them.
Tumblr media
More than that, I've filled them with art, too.

If this sounds like something you'd like, you can find the full series (the two books and two small side stories) here.
