Sports of the Yautja

None of this is canon, all headcanons. Add your own if you like! Credit to sailaway for the first sport but first I need to explain a personal headcanon that I'm hoping doesn't get too confusing.

Every ten years an event is held that is open invitation to every officially recognized tribe, clan, or group of individuals. This event is held either on a mothership (which are clanless and open to all with strict policies on infighting) or in a specialized zone on Yautja Prime. It rotates every year. In this event, individuals or tribes as a whole compete in various sports or specialized events.

The event is referred to as: The Omnibus

(As an homage to the comics. Yes, this is just Yautja olympics. No, I am not taking criticism of my life choices at this time.)

Some of the sports and events include:

Ulata: similar to soccer and volleyball. The ball may not touch the ground. Use of hands and feet are forbidden. The object of the game is to score in a vertical hoop at the opposite end of the field. Minimum player count is four, maximum is ten.

Somban: Specialized wrestling, similar to sumo. Only two at a time. Opponents must have hold of the other's arms at all time but are not allowed to grip below the elbow. To win, you must put your opponent flat on their back.

Ankulah: A very specific, very old type of sword-fighting that used to be very ritualized. Participants must dual-wield a weapon or item of defense in addition to their sword. Shields and extra swords are most common, but some have more surprising choices like whips or tonfa.

Thau'miggan: The most popular, competed in sport of the Omnibus. Also the most chaotic with a max of twenty players per team, two balls in play, and full-contact allowed. The court is a huge ring completely surrounded by 60ft tall rock walls. The walls are also interconnected by a series of metal beams, ropes and chains. The object of the game is to climb to the top of the arena and score in one of the series of seven rings that hang above the court. To add more difficulty, the balls in play act as sensors. The rings are closed unless they detect a ball has risen above a certain height to prevent scoring from ground level. There are three 20 minute segments allowed per game.

Of course there are events such as weightlifting, running events, swimming events, and even tribe vs tribe hunts. Normally infighting is an issue when so many tribes are gathered -especially those with bloody histories- but the Omnibus has incredibly strict rules regarding fighting for this reason. One person instigating a fight can easily result in their entire tribe's disqualification. While things may be tense at times, the Omnibus brags a great history of civility.

As a born and bred #nismilan gal, I take my gulai lomak cili api very seriously.  It has to have a certain consistency to its taste, texture and appearance. The gravy must be thick enough, 'podeh' and a smooth gravy (my mother would literally roll in her grave if the gravy 'pecah', as in clumps). Two weeks back, I stumbled upon this little gem of a restaurant somewhere in Kampung Bukit Temiang, Seremban. Not an easy location to find but I assure you, the journey there is a breeze, especially if you know your way around Seremban Lake Gardens. I must say that I was pleased and content with the quality of the food served. I had #masaklemakcilipai telur itik (duck eggs), sambal sotong (squid), terung (brinjal) balado and ulam-ulaman (salad). ...and they also served lovely desserts. The dessert table is like a mini homage of the dessert runway in @sugarrush_desserts. I'd definitely revisit this restaurant soon. Note: During my visit, there was a guy who was writing on a piece for the restaurant. He wanted to take photos of my friend and I. We had to decline as we were literally in our PJs. So, dress well when you do make your way here. Henloooo. So today i drove from somban to kl tau. Its normal but i felt more confident today hahahhaha. My mom was worried thinking nanti nak hantar adik i belajar kat penang siapalah nak drive. I terus cakap along drivelah takpe. Yakin iler beb hahahahha but yeah considering the space and all i prefer kitorang bertiga je on that trip. And i kemas barang i dalam masa sejam je beb goodjob tini HAHHAHAHA im totally more efficient these days!

i sprained my ankle during volley ball. it was so bad haha. i cant walk. day 2 was worse

when i woke up for subuh, the pain was like pergh sampai langit. frust betul sampai i cried dalam toilet subuh2 tu. not because it was painful (although it was) but because all my plans for post exam celebration were cancelled… and i realllly dont like depending on people and looking weak. i was limping the whole time during OSCE. but the pain was mild bcos of the meds.

but alhamdulillah im back in somban now. im still in pain. idk makin bengkak pulak. but takpelah, dugaan. maybe sakit sebab mak abah needs me at home. ill take it as that.

alhamdulillah my friends are sooo nice to me. drivekan. bagi ubat. papahkan. keluarkan ais. offer comfort. ambilkan grabfood. cracking jokes the night before osce sebab i was so damn worried actually lambat nak jalan.
