Portrait of painter Konstantin Somov (1869-1939). Somov was an extremely talented painter who preferred to work with water color and gouache, although he's probably best known for his gorgeous oil painting The Boxer. He was one of the most prominent members of the influential art magazine Mir Iskusstva and emigrated, like so many other Russian artists, to Paris in the years after the Russian revolution. His paintings of his muses Myth and Boris are simply breathtaking, as are his self-portraits. #konstantinsomov #somov #painter #miriskusstva #queerartist #portrait https://www.instagram.com/p/CfRvNkCt5iG/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
