Cocteau Twins’ Elizabeth Frazier and Robin Guthrie performing their gorgeous version of Tim Buckleys “Song to the Siren”. Recorded for the musical collective This Mortal Coil’s 1984 album, It’ll End in Tears, this Buckley/Larry Beckett-penned song would enjoy a resurgence, reaching as high as #3 on the UK Independent Singles Chart.
Where Buckley’s version first appeared on his album Starsailor in 1970, the song was actually first recorded the previous year by Pat Boone.

Garbage just released a beautiful cover of Tim Buckley's 'Song to the Siren'.
Honestly, it's such a special song, and every cover I've heard has its own unique flair. Bryan Ferry's is still probably my personal favorite just because I'm always a sucker for existential sophisti-sad sophisti-pop - and no one does that better than Bryan Ferry imho
