Have a wonderful and safe time watching the jonas brothers. Sing along, cheer loudly and have the best time ever! Ngl, little jealous even if I'm irritated at joe jonas's asshattery at the moment. The music is sooooo good though.

but if i might be so bold as to defend joe jonas..... or maybe not defend him, but the situation at hand/just give my general opinions.

i had thought about saying some stuff on twitter, bc i do have a jonas brothers stan twitter, but the fans on there are like… extra annoying in a way i wasn't expecting lol

i think this is a situation that we should all know ZERO about. idk who's team is leaking what, idk which one of them has someone in their inner circle that is leaking stuff for shits and gigs, but it truly has to stop.

it's sad enough that a marriage is ending, but there are two very young kids involved. hell joe and sophie were so private at one point that we don't even really know the name of their second kid. we rarely see their faces except the couples times either parent has taken them out in public (bc yes, prior to joe being paparazzied the day after the divorce was announced with his kids, that everyone deemed was a pr move/him calling them on himself, he and SHE has been photographed with them before. if you wanna argued he called the paps on himself, whatever. idc.).

all of the rumors that have swirled about sophie did not come from joe or his team, just inside sources, which basically anyone could be as long as they are six degrees of kevin bacon away from him (if not way more). he denounced all the rumors, both on his insta and at a concert where he literally said "if it didn't come from these lips, don't believe it". i personally believe he should have denounced things faster or more aggressively, but him and the rest of the jb crew have always been like snc - pretend drama doesn't exists and hope it just dies down.

but now sophie, who has been a private person for a long time, is going out of her way to say a lot of public things via her ppl and idk if i like that. part of it just feels like petty revenge, and it could very well be. and i get it, the rumors made her sound shitty, so i would get why she would tell the public that she didn't find out about the divorce until we all did and that joe is abducting the kids by not giving her their passports so she can take them back home with her. but let's listen to reality for a moment: first off, the kids are now with her in the US. they had been with joe for like three months while she was off working. second, joe physically can't allow the kids to leave bc he would be against the court order he made in florida where he filed for divorce bc he wants the judge in florida to create a plan so that the kids can see both him and sophie 50/50. but it sounds a lot worse when it sounds like he took the kids and won't let them go back home with mom, even tho they've lived a majority of their lives in the US. if you have an issue with the legality of it all, okay that's fine. but shitting on joe bc he won't break the law to look nice don't make no fucking sense. also i don't believe whatsoever that she found out at the same time we did about the divorce. unless joe hacked her instagram, no one forced her to post the same announcement about it as him.

i think the main problem is that this is becoming fandom drama and it's way more serious than that. this isn't some silly internet feud that went too far or some dumb beef between two random celebs. this is a family that is falling apart and ppl want to randomly throw taylor swift in there bc "omg soph is such a queen for hanging out with joe's ex" or whatever. like dear god touch grass, holy shit. i don't think either one of them are acting like an adult should. you have kids, keep all that shit private. i shouldn't know about your divorce as it's happening.

Alice scoffs, knowing exactly what she’s talking about. “Toby Keith was a jingoist fuck.” 

“But,” Hank says, tipping the neck of his beer bottle toward her. “Red Solo Cup hits different.” 

She relents. “Alright, fair.” 

Sean starts picking out the lead guitar part and Hank puts his beer aside, picking up his own acoustic to back him up. Becca tips back, avoiding the neck of his guitar, before settling against his shoulder once more. 

“You’re gonna love this,” Caro says, close to Graham’s ear. “You might have heard it before, but we’ll teach you for real.” 

Graham nods, the light from the fire lighting up the gentle joy and curiosity in his eyes. 

“Now a red solo cup is the best receptacle / For barbecues, tailgates, fairs, and festivals,” Sean starts, passing it off to Hank. They both settle into a comfortable drawl.

“And you, sir, do not have a pair of testicles if you prefer drinking from glass.” 

Sophia scampers up the back stairs as best she can from the yard, her cane thumping dramatically against the deck as she flops down next to Alice. She smells of pine and dogwood, likely rooting around with Grayson in the yard before the sun gets too far past the horizon. Bella’s still down there, crouched amongst the pine needles while her son builds fairy houses. 

“Now,” Soph says, picking it up, “a red solo cup is cheap and disposable and in fourteen years they are -” 

Alice joins for a brief, “Decomposable” 

“And unlike my home, they are not foreclosable…” 

Graham picks it up on the second chorus, giving his wretched American accent his best effort. Caroline’s hands wrap tightly around his bicep and he rocks side to side with Alice and Sophia, laughing his way through the chorus. 

You watch from the safety of the sunroom, Aaron beside you. 

“I like this one,” you tell him. 

He hums. “Me too. Helps that he flew her out from Scotland for the holiday. Scores points, there.” 

“It’s nice to have her home.” You huff a laugh. “Our little lawyer.” 

Aaron shakes his head. “I can believe it but at the same time…” 

“She’s your daughter, baby. I dunno what to tell you on that one.” There’s silence for a second. “It figures she’d also live out an enemies-to-lovers trope from one of her books. And he’s Scottish.”

oikawa has known of iwa's crush on you since 1st year but not once did he talk about it. now, 2 years later, iwa still hasn't made a move on you and it was getting annoying for the setter.

"you know, if you're never going to try, i just might," oikawa smirks and this pulls iwa's attention towards him. "i mean, who can reject me?"

iwa knows what he's talking about. every girl in seijoh has fallen for oikawa's charms at least once over the years.

thinking about this, iwa snickers and looks away. it surprisingly left a bitter impression on him. is he really going to let trashykawa ask you out before him?

upon seeing iwa's sour face, oikawa laughs and approaches him, patting him on the back.

"i'm kidding iwa-chan~" he pokes his tongue out. "and besides, i think we know who y/n really wants."

as if on cue, iwa suddenly sees you walking past the open doors of the gymnasium. he immediately feels his breath get taken away but before he can think twice, oikawa has already pushed him in your direction.

he slightly trips on his feet and almost bumps into you but he catches himself.

you jump in surprise. "oh! iwaizumi!"

hearing your voice calling his name had him blinking. what just happened?!

he quickly shoots a glare towards oikawa before turning back to you.

"ah, y/n!" iwa smiles and awkwardly waves at you. "what are you doing here?"

iwa mentally slaps himself. what kind of stupid question was that? you go to the same school.

"i'm on my way home," you laugh.

but that's a lie. your house is on the other side of the campus but you find yourself passing through the gym every day just to get a glimpse of iwa playing.

"oh," he chuckles. "well.. uh.. get home safely."

you smile and nod, turning to take your leave.

iwa sighs but then he feels a smack on his shoulder.

"if you don't do it now, you're going to regret it," oikawa's voice filled his mind and before he could react, he's being pushed forward again.

"wait y/n!"

you look back to see him running after you. "hmm?"

"um.. i was just wondering," iwa puts his hands in his pockets and looks to the side. "why... did you reject all the guys who asked you out?"

the question surprised you and it was evident on your face.

"ah no! i didn't mean–" his eyes widened as he waved his hands in front of him.

sighing, he looks into your eyes and finally asks, "what i wanted to say was... if i were to ask you on a date, would you also say no?"

there's a long pause and iwa scolds himself internally for being so awkward. but then he sees you smiling, your small giggle filling his ears.

"i thought you'd never ask," you sigh.

"w-what?"

"to answer your questions, i've been rejecting them because i was waiting for you. and no, i won't reject you iwaizumi."

the way iwa's eyes lit up had you laughing again but your moment was interrupted by oikawa shouting in the background, telling iwa it's time for practice.

"yeah i'll be right there!" he smiles. "i'll see you tomorrow then? around noon?"

you eagerly nod and then you go on your separate ways.

that night, you were both restless, tossing and turning around in bed because you were too excited.

when the next day came, you were up early, preparing yourself for the date and iwa was doing the same.

he never thought he'd ask oikawa to lend him clothes (he said he wanted to look good but oikawa just told him to be himself which was actually a pretty good advice)

your date consisted of going around town, trying different food, and window shopping. iwa had asked you beforehand what you'd like to do and you told him there's nothing really specific that you'd like.

so that's how you settled on watching a movie together, wanting to take a break from walking around all day.

oh how nervous you both looked when the lights dimmed. and your hands kept on brushing against each other while reaching for your shared popcorn.

but honestly, you were both so happy right then. no words could explain it.

iwa may not have been able to hold your hand in the theater but when you were on your way home, he found an opportunity to do so.

the city was busy tonight, with lots of cars passing by. and just when you were about to cross the street, iwa just swooped in and held your hand.

"it's dangerous," he simply says, trying to act cool and nonchalant but you knew he was nervous, with the way his hand was slightly shaking.

"thank you," you smile and squeeze his hand to let him know it was totally okay.

when you arrived home, you were smiling from ear to ear. iwa had been such a gentleman throughout your date. well, he always has been.

just before you parted, you took a deep breath and said, "i don't usually do this on the first date but," you lean closer and place a soft kiss on his cheek. "you're special, iwa-chan."

ah, that nickname. that cute nickname that seemed even cuter when you said it.

he's smiling now, cheeks heating up from your kiss.

"you're special to me too, y/n," he takes your hand and kisses it. "right from the start."

that night, you both said your good byes but with the promise of a next date in the following days.

and just as you went inside your home, you swore you saw iwa jumping and smiling from ear to ear before he disappeared from view.

THE EVENT ➵

what i am going to is a little mini drabble event!! basically what you can do is send me a fic title and a character, and i’ll write a mini blurb or a little bit of dialogue. i might get inspired and write more, but for now it will probably be something very short and sweet!! i also will try my best to include a little graphic (group of images) along with it that i feel fits it best!! here’s an example of what an ask would look like:

“could you do “blurry stars” with suna?”

and i’d write a tiny drabble or a bit of dialogue to go along with it, along with a graphic that i think fits best!!

i feel like your relationship would be a slow burn; you wouldn’t hate him — sure, he’s good-looking and all — but you’d think he’s too playful and flirty, and doesn’t have a lot of substance to him. but you don’t really care much, he’s just the number two pro hero to you. he on the other hand would think you’re nice and a good person, but nothing particularly interesting strikes him about you. that is, until he gets a serious injury and lands himself in the hospital, leaving you to tend to his injuries.

he often sees you in the hospital and likes how you take care of him, asking him how he’s feeling and making small talk when you change his bandages. and so he begins to take a liking to you. you try to remain professional, but the way he jokes around (yes, with a little dark humour as well) and makes things seem so light and easy, you can’t help but admit he does make your day at the hospital a little bit brighter.

eventually, you guys become fond of each other and he feels more comfortable sharing things with you, beyond just basic pleasantries. slowly, your conversations go from “yes, i’ve taken my medicine” to “i’m glad i can take a break from my hero duties” to “sometimes... i don’t know if i’m good enough to be the number two hero”. as he starts opening up to you more, you manage to see past his facade and catch a glimpse of how complex of a person he really is. he’s so much more mature than you thought he could be, and you also never expected him to feel so inadequate about his abilities. his complicated emotions and thoughts intrigue you, especially because you find people to be rather interesting. he’s not just the number two hero you have to take care of anymore. he becomes a friend to you, someone you look forward to seeing when you go to the hospital every day. and eventually, the feelings start to creep in and make their home in your heart.

he likes listening to you talk as well (cheeky bird would definitely press the call button a few extra times just so he could see you more) and loves listening to you rant when you’re feeling tired or down at work. it makes him feel like you can depend on him too, and that it’s not always him who’s sharing about his life; he wants to help you carry your burdens as well, not always you being the one listening to and shouldering his.

after weeks of being in recovery, he’s finally fit enough to leave the hospital. he’s usually pretty confident and laid-back, but he becomes uncharacteristically anxious when he thinks of asking you if you’d like to keep in contact. he approaches you, saying that he’s been discharged and is on his way out of the hospital. you smile at him and he feels a pang in his gut because he doesn’t want this to be the last time he sees it. his palms are literally sweating but he sucks in a breath and nervously asks you for your number. when you blush and shyly give it to him, he sighs with relief and smiles because he’s glad at least you want to see him as much as he wants to see you. and he’s excited because finally, you won’t be in your scrubs and he won’t be your poor bed-ridden patient anymore.

your relationship steadily grows after that, especially because you share similar morals, interests and the same passion for helping people and making them feel better. you guys fit together perfectly; he brings joy to your life and helps you loosen up and enjoy the little things while you keep him grounded and steady, being his voice of reason and keeping him in check. he’s there for you like you are for him and eventually, he realises you’re the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with. he becomes fully committed to you, doing everything he can to win you over. some birds do mate for life after all, and he just knows you’re the one he wants to be with forever.

also yes, smexy time with this man would be exciting and spicy, especially with his defined muscles (like, have you seen this man) and his quirk that can literally manipulate feathers according to his will. he will never fail to make you feel loved in every sense of the word.
