Before Tumblr, Twitter, and even Facebook, my only online life and presence was on StumbleUpon. I’ve met a ton of wonderful people on that platform, I’ve even fallen in love on SU. I’ve had a relationship with someone from the US for three years, and we have met on StumbleUpon. He even flew over to my country so we could meet in person. But that’s a story for another time. I met the fantastic @rrrick on there, as well as @slimmers and @sparklevomit. They are all wonderful people, even if we’ve never met. You know how it is - you meet people online that you feel closer to than people in your real life. And there isn’t even a need for a physical connection, because your minds are so alike. And that is the only connection you need, to make a great friendship. 

What I want to talk about is another person I met on StumbleUpon. Her name was Holly, and I found out this week that she was murdered. We have never really clicked or even talked, to be honest, but I knew her online persona, and I found her to be witty and funny. I admired her sense of humor and her coolness. Almost all my Stumble friends liked her and enjoyed her posts very much. She was well known in that community. 

As the years went by, because you have to know, I’ve started using Stumble in my early twenties, I loved seeing what all my Stumble buddies were up to, so we became Facebook friends, or Tumblr friends, or both, and I could see what they were doing as the days went by. Following their lives on all these other social media platforms was just common sense to me. 

They had Stumble Upon parties, and I was always so sad that I couldn’t join. Romania is pretty far from America, Visas, all that shit. But I looked at pictures and videos from their gatherings, and I was glad that I could witness it, and I was there in spirit. Those parties always seemed wonderful and so much fun. 

A couple of weeks ago, I noticed some of my friends from Stumble, were voicing concerns regarding Holly, on Facebook. She was missing. Nobody knew where she disappeared to. 

My heart sank. I mean, I repeat, I never even talked to this girl, but I *knew* her. I was hoping that she would return safely, even though I am realistic and cynical, and I somehow knew that it wouldn’t turn out well for her, I really wanted it to be different. I really hoped with all my heart that she would return. And she did. After a couple of weeks they found her body. She was murdered. What a horrific thing to happen. What a fucked up thing to learn about someone. What a horrible way to leave this Earth. I was and am so sorry for this girl. She was a wonderful human being, and I remember her stories and her crazy sense of humor. And even though I never met her, it’s like losing a friend in real life - it feels bad. And terrible. 

Places like these online platforms are powerful and amazing. They are powerful, even more so than in real life, because they force minds and souls to connect, since it’s impossible for people to physically meet online. The connections created with like minded people on social networks and online mediums are to be cherished, they are real and strong and amazing. 

Holly’s death made me see this yet again. I hope she is at peace. And I know she is loved and missed.

  1. What is your favourite beverage and what do you think that says about you? 

That is a tough one... Id have to say coffee when it comes to both taste and effect... There's nothing better than being the first person awake in the house and having your first cup whilst browsing the internet...little things man... But what does it say about me? That I have no natural energy of my own and I have to rely outside sources.

2. Are you Vegan/Vegetarian/Pescatarian or none, and why? 

I was a vegetarian for like a year..the only reason was to restrict my diet. Didn't really help much seeing as how donuts are 100% meat free. Nah but seriously. I just wanted to try it to see if Id reap any of the benefits... I lost some weight, and it was alright. But now not so much. I just try to eat relatively healthy. Hell I might have another go at it eventually.  3. What are you reading at the moment, are you enjoying it? 

Oddly enough nothing at the moment....maybe that explains the writers block...and I'm sure fanfiction doesn't count. 

4. If money was no object, where would you live the rest of your days and what would you do? 

Aww man... Id want to be a writer... I mean an actual writer...where people actually want to read my shit hah... Either that or a personal trainer.... But I'd want to live somewhere in Europe. I've always wanted to live in Ireland somewhere. 

5. What’s your favourite pokemon? 

I've never actually watched pokemon (Dont kill me) I know I know... All I remember about pokemon is the kids back in grade school with these really weird cards and they wouldn't let me play...and I hated everyone...

6. If you could be a character in any TV Show which would you choose? 

Lisa.. from NewsRadio...Cause she gets to make out with Dave Foley <3... Either that or Dean From Supernatural... 7. Can you play an instrument? Why did you choose to learn it? 

I can sorta play the piano.

I don't know really. I know that I tend to have a different way of behaving based on who I'm around. But, in a way, everyone does. I know that there are people I know where I look at them and think  Gee I sure hope I'm never like them

Fuuuuck. That's hard. (that's what she said) Um...It really changes over time. I have new faves and I have old faves. But... Im gonna have to say American Psycho....Don't even okay, It has sentimental value that only I can acknowledge... ;)

i make people laugh in any language. when i am rested and well fed and happy i am the soul of any good party and i can make people laugh out loud. 

i like to learn new things and am always curious about everything that i don't know anything about. i also like to try new things all the time. 

i have an excellent memory when it comes to celebrities and their body of work. ask me about any of them. 

people say i am a good listener and they trust me with their secrets. sometimes it sucks because i wish they wouldn't, but they somehow always do it.

My immediate response was to make you laugh, I'm always the one to try an ease a situation. But I'll say this, I was the Mom who was sick and I wanted nothing more than to be ok for my girls, they are my world. Love is a powerful beast. Hugs, Sweetie.
