& thank you for the tag ven ( @skzonthebrain ) !!
☆ㅤwho is your favorite kpop group?
jasdhkjas stray kids ofc. and seventeen, but i've been stanning skz for a longer time, so they're my #1 !!
☆ㅤwhich member sparked your interest first?
the first one i learned to distinguish was felix, but han was the one who sparked my interest. i remember not knowing nothing about them and my friend super excited because i found him handsome ajkshajsd
☆ㅤwho was your first bias?
han jisung, of course, he still is 🥺
☆ㅤwho is your current bias?
bangchan, lee know and han jisung.
☆ㅤwhat makes them your current bias?
han jisung started as my bias when i didn't know them and i thought he was super hot. once i learned about skz, bangchan became my ult. i just found on him my comfort place. the thing with jisung is he never stopped being my bias, but as i started to get to know him better, i remember thinking he was destined to be one of my favs. the same with minho. i don't have a specific reason. i just feel at ease when i see them, and i can relate to them a lot, so i just love them.
☆ㅤwho is your bias wrecker?
oh, mister seo changbin. husband material, part time babygirl part time gym bro. no reason to explain, just look at him aksdjhkasj
☆ㅤwhich member(s) are you currently obsessing over that aren’t your bias/bias wrecker?
it depends. right now i would say no one because i'm fully focused on them (when writing and all), but i would say hyunjin and seungmin catch my attention frequently.
☆ㅤwhen did you first discover this group?
a friend i used to have back in high school was obsessed with them. i think it was around november 2022 that i first heard of them. and she introduced me to han jisung, the one i pointed out when she showed me one mv. and then i started to search for pic on pinterest and tiktoks around my birthday, out of curiosity, and on may (2023) i was fully stanning them ajskajsh
☆ㅤhave you ever been to one of their concerts?
unfortunately, no. europe is just france, apparently. i hope they do some europe tour or smth like that and i have enough money to go 🤞🏽
☆ㅤwhat are some of your favorite songs by the group?
okay, i love this question. the songs i consider my favs have like story behind so: winter falls, because it was the first skz song i listened to and mv i watched; red lights, because i obsessed over the rhythm and it was the first (and only) song i learned the lyrics fully; 3racha (maxident) because i was crushing hard over 3racha and it was my first comeback and connected by bangchan because- BECAUSE, and it's lit my user here so...

“Drag Syndrome” – a touring drag show featuring people with Down syndrome – has sparked outrage and confusion following the publication of a video intended to promote the group.
On January 4, UK-based media company Mashableuploaded a video to Twitter highlighting the drag show. The short film, entitled “Born to dance with an extra chromosome,” shows interviews and performances with several drag queens with Down syndrome.
The video also includes an interview with the creative director of the drag show, Daniel Vais, who ostensibly does not have Down syndrome.
Tumblr media
Vais founded “Drag syndrome” in 2018. In 2020, Vais gave an interview where he was asked what his most memorable performance was, Vais recounted how one of the drag queens, “Horrora Shebang,” opened a show by shouting “Good evening, bitches!”
Drag Syndrome, which is described on its website as being a “drag collective featuring highly addictive queens and kings with Down-Syndrome” tours across Europe and is currently performing at RuPaul’s DragCon UK 2023in London. The troupe was previously featured at DragCon in 2020, and earned a profile in British Vogue.
Drag Syndrome also sells merchandise on their website, and currently has over 81,000 followers on Instagram and an incredible 558.1K followers on TikTok.
Despite their renewed popularity, Drag Syndrome has been performing for years, and drawing criticism for just as long.
In 2019, a venue owner in Grand Rapids, Michiganactually cancelled the troupe’s booking, citing concerns about “exploitation.”
Peter Meijer, the owner of the Tanglefoot Building, issued a public statement, writing: “The involvement of individuals whose ability to act of their own volition is unclear raises serious ethical concerns that I cannot reconcile.”
Reacting to Mashable‘s short film on Twitter, the response was overwhelmingly critical.
“This is abuse. This is exploitation. This is disgusting. These individuals cannot consent to this, they likely are not even able to live totally independently. No words,” one individual said.
“As a special needs parent myself, this is disgusting,” another wrote.
Reporter Tatiana Passaic asked a question many others also seemed to have: “Who exactly is the target audience for this?”
Tumblr media
Other netizens compared the show to historical “circus freak shows” which often exploited people with physical or intellectual disabilities. In the 20th century, some parents of children with disabilities would sell their children to the circus, where they would then be ridiculed and exploited for profit. Circus “freak shows” would often showcase people with dwarfism, intellectual impairment, or Down syndrome.
According to the Mayo Clinic, “almost all people with Down syndrome have intellectual disability or low IQ, which includes difficulty learning and trouble with activities of daily life. These difficulties can be mild to severe.” Both adults and children with intellectual disabilities are known to experience higher rates of abuse and exploitation, an issue that has been exacerbated by social media and the internet.
Drag shows have been mired in controversy over the past year due to an increase in “drag queen story hours” aimed at children, “family” or “all-ages” drag shows, and drag shows which feature children.
Videos have gone viral showing children witnessing sexually explicit performances. One video from July of 2022 that was widely circulated on social media featured a toddler being led through a bar by a half-nude drag queen with breast implants.
Tumblr media
Drag queen story hour” (DQSH) is a growing trend which involves a male performer dressed as a caricature of women, often in a highly-sexualized manner, reading books to children. The events inspired multiple protestsduring 2022, particularly from conservative groups and concerned parents who blast the practice as indoctrination and the sexualization of children. Detractors often describe proponents of such events as “groomers.”
Critics of DQSH have been called a litany of slurs equating them with “bigots,” yet protesters have been singling out venues that host drag shows involving children while passing over adult events that adhere to age requirements.
Opposition to DQSH has also been accused of motivating a mass shooting at a gay night club in Colorado in November 2022 which resulted in the deaths of five attendants. Prominent LGBTQ+ activists have argued that the use of the term “groomer” online has led to an increase in violence towards the community – despite the fact that the shooter responsible for the killings identities as “non-binary,” and no official motive has yet been announced by investigators.
In addition to drag queen story hour and drag shows aimed at children, there has also been an increase in child “drag” performers, often called “drag kids.”
One such “drag kid” who uses the stage name “Vanellope Craving” was mentored by an adult drag performer who was later arrested after it was discovered that she had “utilized the internet on numerous occasions to distribute and exchange pornographic images of children” and “engaged in creating child pornography and uploaded it to the internet.”
Debates about the ethics of DQSH and similar events have become a hot topic in the media, particularly in the US and the UK. Many legislators in the US are now attempting to ban such events. In Minnesota, legislators have introduced a bill that states public libraries will lose state funding if they host drag queen performances for children. Similar bills have been proposed in both Missouri and Tennessee.

Adele's Grand Munich Concert Series: 'A Bit Bloody Exciting'
Tumblr media
Earlier this summer, with a little help from AI, Adele slipped into a Bavarian-style dirndl dress, cradled a very tall beer, and held a giant soft pretzel aloft. “Not long now … Pack ma’s!” was the tagline, translating from Bavarian dialect as “Let’s do this!” Her groundbreaking, potentially record-busting Munich residency was only a few weeks off. Her Adele in Munich spectacular is now set to begin on Friday, attracting fans from around the world to 10 shows during August at a custom-built pop-up stadium, while pointing a way forward for pop superstardom – a bold project that has sparked excitement and some controversy. Adele’s AI-enhanced, tongue-in-cheek Instagram story situating her in a mocked-up Oktoberfest showed the multi-platinum, multi-Grammy-winning British singer embracing her long run in southern Germany – her first performances in continental Europe since 2016. “In Munich? That’s a bit random, but still fabulous!” was how she framed it on social media in January when the concerts were announced, calling it “a wonderful way to spend my summer and end this beautiful phase of my life and career”. Adele is also still doing her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace, which began in November 2022 and ends later this year. Both the Vegas and Munich residencies give her a high level of creative and logistical control compared with touring – a luxury option only available to entertainment’s biggest draws. “Superstars with the kind of catalogue that have a towering amount of hits are able to set up shop in one spot and say to their fans, ‘Hey, I’m powerful and famous and popular enough that you will come to me,’” said Jason Lipshutz, senior director of music at US industry magazine Billboard. “It’s definitely a flex.” The 400,000 sq-metre (4.3m sq ft) venue built for the concert series has been likened to a one-woman music festival. It features an amphitheatre for the performances plus a vast “Adele World” hospitality area with Bavarian beer garden; a pub modelled on the Good Ship in Kilburn, north-west London, where she performed early gigs; and a bar named I Drink Wine after one of her recent album tracks. Seven hundred people have been working to her team’s specifications for much of this year on site at the Munich fairgrounds outside the city. The singer teased fans in July with photos of herself beaming in a hi-vis vest while inspecting the site: “It’s all a bit bloody exciting.” The venue will accommodate a maximum of 75,000 fans a show, viewing a stage conceived by Eurovision song contest and America’s Got Talent set designer Florian Wieder. A 93-metre catwalk and 200-metre semicircular walkway to a second stage will bring Adele’s blend of ballad-belting diva and salty Londoner as close as possible to fans. Her manager, Jonathan Dickins, told reporters the atmosphere in Munich, a convenient European crossroads, would be “cosy”. But he said this residency would be the “total opposite” of the intimate Las Vegas shows, with a different setlist apart from the obvious big hits. A 220 x 30-metre backdrop screen, resembling a very long roll of analogue film, may find a place in the Guinness World Records for its size. The production team said the screen cost around €40m (£34m) and will also block noise from the nearby autobahn. If it rains, which it has often done this soggy German summer, everyone, including Adele, will get wet, but asphalt has been laid across the fairgrounds to avoid a mudbath. Veteran concert promoter Marek Lieberberg said the total production costs were in the range of hundreds of millions of euros – “the biggest project in my 50 years in the music business”. Adele will set up in Munich for the whole four weeks with her family, Dickins said. Local media reported that they would be staying at a sprawling suite in the city’s old town with four bedrooms, six bathrooms, four sitting rooms, and a dedicated butler. Residencies with global stars have become commonplace in the US – think Britney Spears and Céline Dion in Las Vegas and Billy Joel and Harry Styles in New York – but are still a relative rarity in continental Europe. “It’s not revolutionary what Adele is doing – it more falls into a trend” in the post-pandemic world of touring, Lipshutz said. “She wants to replicate a feeling more than just a performance among her fans, and give them an experience. This is a whole event to soak up and really enjoy.” US residencies tend to take place in destination cities giving fans an excuse to build a mini-holiday around the show while providing a windfall for the hosts. Munich’s top economic official Clemens Baumgärtner has estimated that Germany’s third-biggest city would make €566m from Adele’s August dates thanks to hospitality revenues and the rent from the fairgrounds, without Munich having to contribute to the cost of production. Some fans criticised the bargain-basement prices as unfair given what they paid early on to be assured a spot in a crowd. However, Lipshutz said it was not unusual for tickets to still be available given the giant scope of Adele in Munich. “Selling out a residency at an enormous venue is always going to be tricky for an artist of any stature. I truly think Adele will be fine, no matter how many thousands of tickets are sold.” Much has been made of the carbon footprint of big acts such as Taylor Swift while on tour. But fans traversing continents for once-in-a-lifetime encounters with their favourite stars have a huge climate impact too, noted Jan Stremmel, a journalist with Munich daily Süddeutsche Zeitung. “Gig tripping” is now competing with world touring, he said after speaking with people coming from as far as Washington DC and Manila to see Adele. “Now fans are increasingly going to where their idols are, even if it’s on the other end of the planet,” he said. “It’s a remarkable development, not only economically but also ecologically.” It’s understandable why they’re making the trip, however, as it is likely to be the last opportunity for some time. Adele recently announced a “big break” from music after the conclusion of the Las Vegas residency in November. “My tank is quite empty from being on stage every weekend in Las Vegas,” she said while promoting the Munich concerts. “I don’t have any plans for new music, at all … I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while.” Read the full article

'So sorry': Celine Dion cancels 2023-2024 shows over health
PARIS
Pop icon Celine Dion has canceled all her remaining shows scheduled for 2023-2024, saying she was not strong enough to tour as she battles a rare neurological disorder.
The 55-year-old Canadian revealed last year that her condition -- Stiff-Person Syndrome -- was affecting her singing.
"I'm so sorry to disappoint all of you once again... and even though it breaks my heart, it's best that we cancel everything until I'm really ready to be back on stage," the "My Heart Will Go On" singer tweeted.
"I'm not giving up... and I can't wait to see you again!" she added.
A statement released by her tour said: "With a sense of tremendous disappointment, Celine Dion's Courage World Tour today announced the cancellation of all remaining dates currently on sale for 2023 and 2024."
"I'm working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you're 100 percent," Dion said in her statement, which was also posted on Instagram.
Dion, one of the top women singers with an octave-busting voice, is the author of hits like "Because You Loved Me", "My Heart Will Go On" and "Think Twice".
In December 2022, she posted a tearful video on Instagram to say she had recently been diagnosed with Stiff-Person Syndrome and would not be ready to start her European tour in February as planned.
She said the disorder was causing muscle spasms and was "not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I'm used to".
Sufferers commonly experience stiff muscles in the torso, arms and legs, with noise or emotional distress known to trigger spasms.
The cancellations will affect her 16-country tour in Europe which was due to start in Amsterdam in August and conclude with two dates at the O2 arena in London in April next year.
Tumblr media
Tickets purchased for the canceled dates will be refunded via their original point of sale, her website said.
Her "Courage World Tour" began in 2019, and Dion completed 52 shows before the COVID-19 pandemic put the remainder on hold.
She later canceled the North American section of the tour due to her health problems.
The dates in Europe were to have been the Grammy-winning singer's first global concert tour in a decade and the first without her husband-manager Rene Angelil, who died from cancer in 2016.
Fans online reacted with disappointment, but wished Dion well.
"Not surprising, but no less sad. Courage to you Celine, we are with you," wrote fan information account @LesRedHeads.
"You don't have to apologize queen! Take care of yourself. Your health should take number one priority," wrote @notaerz.
Dion had sparked hopes of a recovery when she released a new album "Love Again" last month, the soundtrack for a film of the same name, which contained five new songs as well as past hits.
The youngest of 14 children, Dion was born in Quebec, Canada and got her start at 12, when her mother sent a recording of her to Angelil, who mortgaged his own home to finance her first album.
She began singing in French, but started bellowing out hits in English after taking English lessons in the 1980s.
She gained worldwide fame in 1997 with "My Heart Will Go On", the theme to James Cameron's epic film "Titanic".
She parlayed that success into a regular gig at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, playing for audiences night after night for 16 years, with only a few breaks.

Live Review: Louis Tomlinson World Tour
29 July 2022 at HBF Stadium, Mount Claremont (Perth)
Review by Sheldon Ang
Photos: Sheldon Ang Photography
The sonic god has struck a deal with the great Walls of uncertainly. After two years in hibernation, the pilgrims of an enigmatic cult cast their eyes, ears, spirits and hysteria towards a single direction.
“Perth, this is the last show of the Tour (in Australia)…me coming here as a Brit and still playing a sold out to this show makes it the best day of my life…you guys are f–king amazing …”
At twenty five past the hour, the 30-year-old singer songwriter from Doncaster graced the stage in a Burberry shirt to the rambunctious decibels of a RAF Tornado, thanks to the collective vocal amplifiers of teenage cohorts of present day and yesteryears.
Setlist opener We Made it from the Tomlinson’s debut solo 2020 album Walls was a symbolic spark to the night in more ways than one after a successful world tour, selling out in global arenas across America and Europe including the iconic Wembley Arena – which was a significant night given it was where four other young men interwoven with him by X Factor in 2012, forming One Direction. Drag Me Down from 1D’s 2015 album Made in the A.M was performed soon after, sparking the first of the three One Direction tracks of the night.
Inevitably the fan frenzy had reached full One D craze mode, as most were reciting the gospels of Walls with over 4,000 of the rowdiest but the most beautiful sounding backup singers from Perth. Some were on their knees, sipping and twirling in a concoction of euphoria and hysteria, while others were on shoulders, holding love infested placards hoping to capture the attention of Louis. Everyone else was on their feet including those in the upper reaches.
A bevy of young fans on pole position mentioned they had been camping at the doorsteps of HBF Stadium since 2 a.m., or almost 20 hours before T minus zero – certainly a worthy mention considering Perth had been drenched by a cold and wet spell of wintery blast. Another fan made the disturbing decision to miss her grandfather’s funeral in Sydney, which would normally be a satirical reason for not missing out the AFL Grand Final, but “You got to do what you got to do” – which probably sums the catastrophic obsession for one of the pillars of One Direction.
Louis Tomlinson and his band dazzled the night through a rock-esque sonic rendition through booming bass, drums and kicks accompanied by scintillating end to end riffs – which is not surprising considering his influences were the likes of Oasis, Kings of Leon and Catfish and the Bottlemen – with the latter two were given a shout out through the cover of Beautiful War and 7, followed by two more One Direction hits in Little Black Dress and Through the Dark, before ending the night with Kill My Mind.
So gone are the preconceived and presumptuous notions where members of boy bands are no more than exquisite looking props to charm the hearts of teenage fans. Yes, Louis is a good-looking English lad, but boy can he really sing and perform. The singer songwriter – who had written over 30 songs for One Direction, propagates an immense talent with the knack to translate personal experiences into lyrics, oozing the je nais se quois enshrouded by the palpable sincerity while performing the likes of Two of Us, Walls, Always You, Defenceless and Fearless. His time at One Direction had undoubtedly provided the superfluous world class training for stage presence – which clearly resonated on the night as he homed his craft by being engaging – without being corny.
While the album Walls is not something that you’d dance to, the live performance version is a different beast from another dimension, engraving Louis Tomlinson as a genuine world class solo artist in his own right.

The challenge with TILT house was launched to carry out the project for a one-story house to be built on a morphologically regular terrain.
The surrounding area was, at the time the project was carried out, urbanistically stabilized, characterized by an essentially endowed residential area, in the vicinity of several agglomerations consisting of single-family houses and some collective housing buildings.
The fact that the land has two fronts, for streets with different altitude levels, promoted the possibility of deploying the house at an intermediate level and thus strategically separate the pedestrian access from the car access.
TILT is the concept that generates the proposal and characterizes the 3-axis rotation movement of the volume that constitutes the social area of the house.
This movement made it possible to define the main entrance and, at the same time, enhance the space destined for the pool patio, giving it privacy in relation to Avenida Miguel Bombarda, characterized by a greater influx of traffic. This movement also adds a dynamic change to the ceiling height of the home, enhancing the area destined for the living room.
The programmatic definition was implemented in accordance with the cardinal points, with special attention to the solar rotation movement, so the area for the bedrooms was implemented at the east and in turn turned to the access road with less traffic, Travessa Miguel Bombarda, developing to the more intimate side of the garden.
The master suite approaches the southernmost part of this volume and in turn connects to the pool area. The kitchen was located in the center of the house, enhancing the different relationships with the various spaces that make up the program.
The room is set in a central area of the land, benefiting from east/south/west sunlight and where it is possible for the user to have a broad visual relationship with the external surroundings.
In order to guarantee privacy and at the same time maintain the quality of light inside, two patios were designed, one in the office and the other in the bathroom of the suite.

Dealing with the niggle :-)
Hello peeps :-) So for some time now I have had this niggle, i haven’t been able to put my finger on it exactly but this niggle has been bouncing around for approximately 2 years now. Its not that I am not happy more of a discontent and i want more, i want something that pushes my boundaries, creates sparks, something to become passionate about.
My Ben ( my name for him as he is mine ) feels the same, he wouldn't describe his feelings in the same way as i do, but we are definitely in the same book and on the same page so that helps haha.
We have talked into the early hours, we have imagined, dreamed, planned and researched all sorts of ideas to get our teeth into, or as we like to call them adventures.
So let me tell you, we started big, the plan was to buy a large long wheel based high top van rip it apart and convert it a live in van hit the road and never look back, okay so you may be thinking well that isn't big big people take on that kind of project every other day. So why am i not writing about the start of that adventure. Simple answer MONEY, we are not financially flush although we both work full time we generally live month to month take any little wins, and any life knocks on the chin while trying to live life be parents and memories along the way.
The bottom line is we just cant afford to do it no matter which way we tried to swing it, or money making ideas we had its just not happening any time soon. So this dream our final goal is on a hold with a promise to ourselves that it is only on hold, question is what are we going to do in the meantime.
So in 2019 we booked an all inclusive holiday to Tenerife, Ben has never been abroad and well we haven't had a holiday in years so we were all very excited. So we were due to fly out September 2020 but the corona virus pandemic hit us and we decided to pay the £200 pound amendment fee and move the holiday to June 2021 ( note total cost of holiday now increased). So okay we can all live with the changes but i couldn't shift this niggle. When the government announced its road map out off lock down we mulled over the fact that June wasn’t that far away, should we change it again till later on in the year ? or till 2022 ( i mean really waiting 3 years for a holiday in Europe seemed bizarre to us).
So i came up with an idea ( one of my many crazy ideas) lets cancel the holiday which would mean loosing the majority of the money, but what we get refunded invest it all in camping equipment. Now our original van plan was to begin touring all off the UK discover its nooks and explore the outstanding land we live in. The main reason for this is we still have responsibilities which would restrict us from going further a field, our jobs, children, family etc. and then when the children were grown we were prepared to take in the world :-)
So my less ambitious idea but no less exciting would be to invest all the holiday money into camping equipment and start our adventures discovering all the nooks the UK has to offer within our means, striving to get our van eventually.
So my plan (not so much Ben’s as he does not do social media on any level ) was to log everything as we are Rookie Campers, and to bring you all along for the journey.
I forgot to mention i did discuss all of this with My Ben and of course he said lets do it. So i cancelled the holiday took a screenshot sent it to My Ben with a message Done xxx Excited much xxx

UK Prime Minister Theresa May wins party no-confidence vote, but troubles remain
LONDON — British Prime Minister Theresa May survived a brush with political mortality Wednesday, winning a no-confidence vote by Conservative lawmakers that would have ended her leadership of party and country.
May won the vote of 317 Conservative legislators with a 200-117 tally that reflected the discontent within the party over her handling of Britain’s exit from the European Union.
Despite the victory, Brexit remains her government’s biggest problem. May is heading to Brussels to seek changed to her divorce deal from the European Union in order to make it more palatable to Parliament.
The balloting came after May’s Conservative opponents, who circled the weakened prime minister for weeks hoping to spark a no-confidence vote, finally got the numbers they needed to call one.
The result was announced to loud cheers from lawmakers gathered in the wood-panelled room where they had voted. Under party rules, May cannot be challenged again for a year.
May had earlier vowed to fight for the leadership of her party and the country “with everything I’ve got,” and spent the day holed up in the House of Commons trying to win over enough lawmakers to secure victory.
“A change of leadership in the Conservative Party now will put our country’s future at risk,” May said in a defiant statement outside 10 Downing St.
She said that ousting her and a vote on her replacement — a process that could take weeks — could result in Brexit being delayed or even halted. May, who spent Tuesday touring European Union capitals to appeal for changes to sweeten her divorce deal for reluctant U.K. lawmakers, has until Jan. 21 to hold a vote on the agreement in Parliament, a timetable that could be scuttled if she is replaced.
In a bid to win over wavering lawmakers, May indicated she would step down before the next election, due in 2022.
Solicitor-General Robert Buckland said May told lawmakers at a meeting that “it is not her intention to lead the party in the 2022 general election.”
Another Tory legislator, Nick Boles, tweeted: “She was unambiguous. She will not be leading the Conservative Party into the next election.”
May has not said what she will do if, as many expect, there is an early election triggered by Britain’s Brexit crisis.
The leadership challenge marked a violent eruption of the Conservative Party’s decades-long divide over Europe and throws Britain’s already rocky path out of the EU, which it is due to leave on March 29, into further chaos. It comes days after May postponed a vote to approve the divorce deal to avoid all-but-certain defeat.
The threat to May has been building as pro-Brexit Conservative lawmakers grew increasingly frustrated with the prime minister’s handling of Brexit.
Many supporters of Brexit say May’s deal, a compromise that retains close economic ties with the EU, fails to deliver on the clean break with the bloc that they want.
Former Environment Secretary Owen Paterson accused May of acting like a “supplicant” in dealings with the EU.
“She’s not the person to see Brexit through,” he said.
Opposition lawmakers expressed astonishment and outrage at the Conservative civil war erupting in the middle of the fraught Brexit process.
“This government is a farce, the Tory party is in chaos, the prime minister is a disgrace,” Scottish National Party leader Ian Blackford said during a pugnacious Prime Minister’s Questions session in the House of Commons.
British business figures had expressed alarm at the prospect of even more political uncertainty.
“At one of the most pivotal moments for the U.K. economy in decades, it is unacceptable that Westminster politicians have chosen to focus on themselves, rather than on the needs of the country,” said Adam Marshall, director general of the British Chambers of Commerce.
Graham Brady, who heads a committee overseeing Conservative leadership contests, announced early Wednesday that he had received letters from at least 48 lawmakers asking for a vote. That’s the 15 per cent of Conservative legislators needed to spark a leadership challenge under party rules.
May cancelled a Wednesday trip to Dublin to meet Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar so she could stay in London and battle for lawmakers’ support.
But before it, Cabinet colleagues rallied to May’s support. Home Secretary Sajid Javid tweeted that a leadership contest, with Brexit little more than three months away, “will be seen as self-indulgent and wrong.”
Justice Secretary David Gauke said: “I think it’s vital for the country that she wins tonight.”
He said that if May lost, “I don’t think we will be leaving the European Union on the 29th of March.”
EU leaders tried to stay out of the fray. There was no change in plans for May to address them about Brexit at a summit on Brussels on Thursday.
The European Parliament’s Brexit point man, Guy Verhofstadt, could not contain a note of annoyance, tweeting: “Once again, the fate of EU-U.K. relations, the prosperity of businesses & citizens’ rights are consumed by an internal Conservative party catfight over Europe.”

Stepping into the Future: Fully Digital Annual Reports for a Connected Europe
Have You Seen i-CITY's Game-Changing 2022 Annual Report?
Before diving into the incredible world of digital annual reports, let's spotlight a real-world example that has us all talking: i-CITY's 2022 Annual Report.
This isn't your run-of-the-mill document; it's the IT arm of the City of Brussels breaking barriers with a trilingual digital report.
What's remarkable is that it's not merely a highlight reel of their achievements. It's a powerhouse statement of what modern, accessible, and inclusive communication can and should look like.
Hey there, forward-thinkers!
We focus on dynamic, user-friendly, eco-conscious, fully digital annual reports. Let's chat about why this is not just the next big thing but a game-changer.
Reimagining the Staples with a Digital Spark:
First, picture this: In the digital universe, even the usual sections of an annual report can feel fresh and new. How about spicing it up with interactive charts that users can engage with for a detailed breakdown?
Oh, and achievements? Think animated timelines or even 360-degree virtual event tours. The possibilities are virtually endless and, quite frankly, exhilarating!
Immersive Storytelling:
Think of an annual report that feels less like a report and more like a storybook. Engaging infographics, videos that tug at your heartstrings, and even a sprinkle of augmented reality to deep dive into projects. It's like turning pages of a magical book where data dances and stories unfold.
Embracing Environmental Responsibility Through Digital Solutions:
With our planet in mind, these digital reports are a green thumbs-up! No more paper, no inks, and less carbon footprint from transporting those bulky reports. We're saying a big "yes" to the European Green Deal's vision by going digital.
A Report for Everyone:
The goal is to ensure that everyone feels included. Need larger fonts or translations on the fly? Done. How about audio for those who prefer to listen? Absolutely.
Cost-Effective Yet Sophisticated:
Setting up might require some initial investment, but think about the savings down the road. No more printing or shipping costs. The same high-quality content can be disseminated across social media or an app.
Gamification: Making Reports Fun Again!
Whoever said that annual reports can't be engaging? Throw in some quizzes or interactive timelines; suddenly, it's not just a report – it's an experience.
Share and Share Alike:
Our reports can reach a wider audience with a simple click, expanding and connecting our community even more.
One More Thing: Kudos Where Kudos Are Due:
Before we wrap this up, let's not forget to give credit where it's richly deserved. That groundbreaking i-CITY 2022 Annual Report we were raving about earlier?
It was masterfully created in close collaboration with the i-CITY communication team.
It showcases what's possible when innovative minds come together for a common goal.
Wrapping It Up:
For all our communications gurus, this transition to fully digital annual reports is not just a trendy move but a smart one.
Storytelling, eco-friendliness, inclusivity, and a dash of fun – it's the future of communicating our achievements and stories.
So, let's keep innovating and embracing the digital magic. Because as Jean Monnet so wisely said, "We are not forming coalitions of states, we are uniting men."
And hey, in today's world, we're uniting them one digital interaction at a time.
