El teclado es el periférico más importante con el que trabajamos con nuestro ordenador. Dominarlo y escribir al vuelo nos ahorrará tiempo y nos hará más eficientes. Aunque los dispositivos móviles actuales son el gadget más popular, las computadoras siguen siendo nuestra principal herramienta de trabajo, con permiso de las tablets. En cualquier caso, todos estos dispositivos cuentan con un teclado, físico o virtual, con el que introducimos órdenes o creamos contenido en forma de correos electrónicos, mensajes en redes sociales, artículos como el que estás leyendo o documentos de texto, hojas de cálculo o presentaciones. El teclado actual tiene más de 100 años de historia. La distribución QWERTY, por ejemplo, empezó su popularidad con las máquinas de escribir Sholes & Glidden de 1874, y desde entonces sigue siendo el método utilizado para escribir en ordenadores, tablets o smartphones. A raíz de los teclados surgió la mecanografía, el proceso de introducir texto en un dispositivo a través del teclado. En este sentido, no es lo mismo usar dos o tres dedos de tus manos que emplear tus diez dedos. Los más veteranos recordarán haber dado clases de taquimecanografía en la escuela. Incluso había centros privados donde aprender el noble arte de escribir lo más rápido posible sin equivocarte. Hoy en día sólo hay que echar un vistazo a internet para encontrar páginas especializadas en mecanografía donde podemos ponernos a prueba y comprobar cuántas pulsaciones por minuto logramos sin errores. Además, incluyen actividades y juegos para practicar y aprender a colocar bien los dedos en cada tecla. Veamos cuáles son las normas básicas de la mecanografía y algunos recursos online donde practicar y poner a prueba nuestra destreza al teclado. Consejos básicos de mecanografía Aquí van algunos de los consejos que suelen dar al iniciarse en la mecanografía. No es necesario seguirlos todos, ni a rajatabla, pero te serán útiles y, si los aplicas durante unos días, verás que consigues escribir más rápido y con mayor comodidad. Por defecto, colocar siempre los dedos en la fila A-Ñ, con los dedos índices en la F y la J. Las marcas de esas teclas te ayudarán a colocar bien los dedos sin mirar. A cada dedo le corresponderán las teclas superiores e inferiores a las de esa fila. Usar el pulgar para la barra espaciadora y teclas especiales (ALT, CTRL). Usar los dedos meñiques para las teclas TAB, SHIFT, MAYÚS o ENTER. Lo ideal es mirar la pantalla y no el teclado. Esto se consigue con la práctica. Recursos online de mecanografía Actividades, juegos, programas de escritorio, ejercicios para Word… La lista de recursos de mecanografía es interminable. En este artículo nos vamos a centrar en los recursos online, páginas web accesibles desde cualquier navegador para que ejercites mecanografía a través de internet. Goodtyping ofrece un test de velocidad y cursos gratuitos en varios idiomas (español, francés, alemán, italiano y portugués) con o sin registro. Las lecciones empiezan desde lo más básico. Cada una tiene ejemplos prácticos que debemos aplicar desde la propia página. En cualquier momento puedes saltar de lección. 
Touch Typing Study tiene 15 lecciones, juegos, test de velocidad y otras actividades para teclados en un sinfín de idiomas, entre ellos español, catalán, gallego, euskera, portugués o inglés. Desde la barra lateral izquierda de la página puedes elegir un idioma y un teclado de otro idioma, muy útil, por ejemplo, si escribes en español con un teclado anglosajón. Velocidactil es un juego para un público más joven, en español y catalán, que permite poner a prueba tu velocidad de escritura con el juego y practicar con actividades específicas. Contra otros jugadores o en solitarios, conocerás tus pulsaciones por minuto y el porcentaje de errores de un texto al azar. Mecanografía Online nos permite aprender a escribir con más eficacia en inglés, español y otros idiomas con distintos teclados. Obtendremos ejercicios con letras o textos de ejemplo. Incluso puedes aportar tu propio texto para analizar a qué velocidad escribes. En cada ejercicio verás aciertos, errores y tiempo empleado. 
ARTypist cuenta con cursos de mecanografía en inglés y español y test de velocidad, así como tres juegos Flash para practicar jugando. 
SpeedCoder es una herramienta curiosa, pues está pensada para enseñar mecanografía a programadores. Mediante ejercicios prácticos, en inglés, podrás escribir código en lenguaje C, C++, Java, Python, Javascript o PHP. En principio debes de tener nociones de programación, aunque los fragmentos mostrados son aleatorios. En cualquier caso, si sueles escribir código, con estos ejercicios podrás practicar y agilizar tu tarea. TypeRacer es un juego online donde te las verás con otras personas de todo el mundo. Por defecto el juego ofrece textos en inglés pero desde More options, si pulsas en English puedes elegir español, portugués u otro de los idiomas disponibles. Si lo haces muy bien tal vez salgas en la lista de mejores puntuaciones.

Stomper Speed Code

The night of September 11th, 2015. I decided to recreated the “Stomper” kit from the MC-PvP/BrawlMC Minecraft server. This was the second speed code in my series and one of my favorite kits.

Permissions

In order to use the Stomper kit the player must have the “stomper.use” permission or be operator (OP) on the server.

Explanation (How it works)

The Stomper kit listens for the EntityDamageEvent and checks for all damage caused by falling. Once it finds damage caused by falling it will check to see if the player has the Stomper permission, after a player with the Stomper permission is found all entities within a 3x3x3 area around the player will be damaged by the amount of fall damaged caused to the player. The player's fall damage is cut in half.

Example

(Stomper falling)

If a player with the Stomper permission falls from a height of 15 blocks and lands next to a sheep and a pig. The sheep is 1 block away from the impact point and the pig is 5 blocks away from the impact point. The sheep takes 15 blocks worth of fall damage, because it was within the 3x3x3 area of the impact location.  The pig takes no fall damage, because it wasn’t within the impact area. The player only takes 7.5 blocks worth of fall damage, because the fall damage was cut in half.
