So apparently there was some special LeoFiat episode I didn't know about and I actually don't know if it's uptodate or not. I think it came out yesterday (or today) but I could be wrong. Anyway, I watched it and I can just say: it was hella boring. I know TharnType was boring too but I forgot how boring it was and how uninteresting LeoFiat are. Now, I'm not quite sure if I will even bother about "Don't say no". This special surely didn't catch my attention.

So, for you who hasn't watched: you didn't miss anything. I'm gonna briefly sumarize it.

We start of with Leo's voice in the background and him sitting on a sofa reminiscing about how their friendship slowly changed into a relationship. Right at the beginning, we a get Fiat's most creepy and fake smile ever.

Then there are basically just flashbacks of TharnType season 2, so if you forgot about some parts, then you have the chance to rewatch, otherwise, it's a lot to skip. First it's about Fiat injuring his knee, so Leo hurries home. But as soon as Type showed up as well, I cringed a lot. Just barely seeing those scenes was enough for me to remember the shitshow TharnType season 2 was with all its way-too-stretched conflict and weak plot and bad dialogue and cringey editing..

We also get a flashback of the following scene. I still don't have any clue about what is going on here.

This is not the only time Fiat claims to be seeking Leo's attention by treating him the worst way you could possibly treat a friend.

At this point, I was like "Fiat you don't deserve Leo at all". I forgot how annoying his whining is and how bad they act. At least, they don't seem as toxic... yeah, well, until this happens:

I still can't bear this scene. They f***ing tortured Fiat and Leo was WATCHING and still, Fiat will never know Leo was part of the plan. He still thinks Leo saved him and I- arg. Mame, what have you done?

It's still very odd, Fiat doesn't seem to have any trauma and even apologizes to Leo whilst Leo should be the one doing so.

The scene was especially cringey because Fiat was like "I'm sorry" and Leo was like "No, I'm even more sorry" so, Fiat was like "I'm so sorry, you can't imagine" and then Leo was like "No, I'm the most sorry here" and so on.

Even this special episode alone is so wrong at so many points... The fact Leo slept with Fiat after this very traumatizing experience, gives me goosebumps and I think it's really disgusting. He wants Fiat to sleep but Fiat doesn't want to and asks for Leo's warmth and embrace which is totally fine at this point. But then they kiss? And after a few seconds, Leo starts to undress which just seemed out of context and misplaced. Probably the worst first sex scene I've seen so far. The mood wasn't there at all.

And then we get the last scene with this ending which probably looked better in the writer's heads than it actually turned out.

So far, so good. I skipped a lot. Many scenes were already familiar and they just added a few. It's just extremely boring mostly. Even when it could be exciting or cool or something, the mood drops because of the bad dialogue and pauses between the lines.

「 “If I Can Dream” - Elvis Presley / Written by Walter Earl Brown. 」

In the spring of 1968, Elvis worked on another film, Live a Little, Love a Little, at the time his ambition to become an actor, was waning. He felt stifled and tired, he wanted a serious role, and not the repetitive, washed out, story lines from his past movies. Though he enjoyed working on the film, he was glad it’d be the last one he’d do for awhile.

While filming, he befriended one of his co-stars, Celeste Yarnall, they were very close, and though there’s speculation about how close they were, she’s stated. "I am very private about our relationship and I want to keep it that way. But we just had a lot of love for each other and it was a very special time." They were both professionals, and good friends, and would always share lunch together.

On April 4th, in the middle of their filming, Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated, Elvis was heartbroken. One of his favorite recitations of Dr. King's was his "I Have a Dream," speech, and the fact he was shot in downtown Memphis, at The Lorraine Motel, just a stone's throw away from Elvis' home, Graceland, made the news much harder to take.

On April 9th, during a lunch break, he and Celeste watched news coverage of Dr. King’s funeral march on the television in his dressing room trailer, Elvis broke down, and as quoted by Celeste, "He sobbed in my arms like a baby, he was just devastated and desperately would have liked to attend the funeral."

He told her, he felt a tremendous brotherhood with the black community, because he grew up poor, he understood that shared struggle of poverty. And as a child, he was inspired by local black musicians from Shake Rag, a thriving black community, and the bluesmen down on Beale Street, and he attended the East Trigg Avenue Church to listen to local black gospel music. At the time, growing up in poverty, and seeing the black musicians and singers he admired, as equals, he was viewed as odd and looked down by white people.

He was proud that he and his music were embraced by black people and felt a brother had been taken from him when Dr. King was assassinated. As a tribute, he sang an acapella version of 'Amazing Grace,' he and Celeste choked down their lunch and returned to filming.

After finishing Live a Little, Love a Little, Elvis began work on his television special, in June, that would be broadcasted in December, at the time it was called "Elvis’ Singer Special," and it was intended to be a Christmas Speical. Each song was chosen and recorded, except for the closing song. It was Colonel Tom Parker's idea for the special to be about Christmas, but as filming progressed it strayed from his plan, so he insisted the closing be a Christmas song.

He called for the TV Speical producer and director Steve Binder and Elvis, to inform them of what he wanted, in his makeshift office, that was converted from a broom closet with two bodyguards outside; that Steve said, Parker insisted on having. "Binder, it's been called to my attention that you don't plan on having a Christmas song in the show at the end." Binder replied, "yes." And Parker said. "Well, Elvis wants a Christmas song, in the show. Don't you Elvis?" To which Elvis sort of had his head down, and eyes lowered, as he said. "Yes, sir." Binder said, "Fine. If Elvis wants a Christmas song in the show, we'll put a Christmas song in the show."

As they left the Colonel's office, Steve said he wouldn't use any expletive words, as he recalled what Elvis said, but he jabbed Steve in the ribs and said, "Blank him. We're not gonna worry about that." And the two continued to search for a fitting closing song.

Between finding their song and rehearsals, the two always conversed. "I really liked him. I thought Elvis was one of the nicest, kindest, funny guys I had ever been exposed to. He may not have been college educated but he was sure street smart and well read. And, Elvis basically had in those moments of pure honesty, had been saying things that I felt we should say on the air in the special."

Steve went to Walter E. Brown, material writer and choral director, and composer Billy Goldenberg, to write a speech, comprised of things Elvis said and believed, to be disguised as a song. At the time, Steve was reading about German artists who used modern art as a form of protest in World War II, he said, "The Nazi's would never know what they were saying 'cause it was too abstract for them." The same method was to be applied to the Colonel, knowing he wouldn't approve of a speech, it was designed as a song to get past him and in part, be easier for Elvis to do.

Early one morning, Steve got a call from Earl Brown saying, "I think we did it. I think you've got your song." Rushing down to the studio to hear it, Billy Goldenberg played piano and Earl Brown sang the 'If I Can Dream.’ Steve was handed the lead sheet that credited Billy and Earl as the writers, he stated. "Well, let's wait till Elvis shows up and we'll play it for him." The Colonel wasn't having any of it, he scoffed. "Are we gonna play that as the last song of the show?" Steve waited for Elvis when he arrived he ushered him into the piano room, while Parker with Tom Diskin and a few RCA people were in the outer room, mumbling their discomfort, not wanting what was happening to be happening.

‘If I Can Dream,’ was performed for Elvis, by Billy and Earl, he listened to it, and after the song was done, said. "Play it again." So Billy and Earl played through it again, and again, about three or four times. Which Steve had grown accustomed to, when it came to making decisions, Elvis didn't like making any rash decisions, he wanted to absorb the song, hear it over and over. Then finally he looked up at Steve and said, "Okay, I'll do it."

( On a side note: Steve's favorite part of the story, was when Billy knew Elvis was gonna sing it, he walked over to the piano, took out a pencil and erased his name from the lead sheet. In reality, Earl Brown had written the song all by himself, Steve imagined it must have cost Billy "a zillion dollars," in songwriter fees, but he admired the integrity of his staff. )

On June 23rd, Elvis recorded ‘If I Can Dream,’ and gave an impassioned performance that stunned those in attendance, three backup singers had tears rolling down their cheeks. One whispered to Earl, "Elvis has never sung with so much emotion before. He means every word."

Now, before I continue, I don't know if this next part happened, because I can't find anything to prove that it did, it was: " Elvis dropped down on his knees with a microphone in hand, which Steve described almost like witnessing a religious experience. However, the most heartfelt performance would come when the producers sent everyone home, and Elvis recorded his vocals in the dark.

Steve sat motionless, afraid to move while Elvis lost himself in the song as if doing so would throw him off. Again, he dropped to his knees, then as the song progressed assumed a fetal position, writhing on the cement floor. After three more takes, in complete darkness, the lights came on, Elvis got up and walked into the control room. He sat rapt attention as he asked Steve to play the song back to him. After listening to it fifteen times, he was finally satisfied and gave it an OK." 

It is true, that the song affected him so much so, he vowed. "I'll never sing another song I don't believe in. I'm never going to make another movie I don't believe in." To which the author of this noted, "Sadly, Elvis’ hope for the future was not to be," though added. "[If I Can Dream] peaked on Billboard's Hot 100 at 12 and sold over a million copies. It may well be the only gold record in music history that was recorded in the dark."

Though, I can't say if he did or not, 'If I Can Dream' was certainly one of Elvis' greatest and memorable performances of his career. The song embodied the principles he always stood for, and he was sincere in his feelings and sang from the heart. I think the best to say it is, Jeff Schrembs, who wrote: "Elvis shared a soulful message with the viewing audience all the while paying respect and love to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr."

S8 Fix it Fic [Ep 12-15]

How I thought Voltron Legendary Defender was going to end in s8. 

episode 12: It's not just about swords.

Lance tries to talk to Keith about swords and Keith thinks Lance is trying to talk about them [Like a innuendo it’s really cute and DUMB] Luckily Coran brings it up about how he and Alfor were the same with sword training, both are confused but again metaphors since this is a KIDS show it won’t be explicit. Lance gay panics and finds Shiro.

Lance asks Shiro about how he and Adam got together since they fight all the time, Shiro knowing what Lance is asking, speaks honestly.

Shiro admits that he and Lance are alot alike, Shiro just forgot how to relax, and acts really dumb with Adam and it comes out wrong and he acts dumb, but unlike before he’s not holding anything against Adam he wants to try again, dying made him not care as much as before. “fuck that shit, I’m retired.”

“Yeah but... now you’re a captain.”

both realise they're useless gays. And act like dumb morons in front of their crushes.

episode 13: All hands.

-Honerva makes a speical return with her alternate paladins using Lotor's machine of an anti-voltron and Corans daughter. [Oh! Honerva is controlling Lotor through Anti-quintescese and Allura is heartbroken to fight against the one she loves]

episode 14: Not what it seems.

-Turns out Lotor was a good guy, the quintescence was able to corrupt others and alteans and Druids were senstive to it. Crux poisioning.

episode 15:Red Paladins.

-Keith gets infected and he and Lance have to duke it out, [GREAT parralell to Allura VS Lotor and Lance VS Keith, Showing through a metaphor two lovers fighting against their loved ones without explicitly SAYING so it’s there in the metaphor so it can go past the censorships/kids heads!]

 Lance is able to get through to him. But it’s a close call (death foreshadowing)

Your Liv and Maddie post gives me life! I 100% agree with everything. I felt bad for Maddie during the Diggie and Josh mess. Jillow is beyond disturbing to me and the fact her behavior was played off for laughs and they got together (!!!!!!)! They gave her behavior a stamp of approval by pairing them off smdh. If it's not too much trouble, could you share your thoughts on Karen and her horrible parenting? Thanks!

Thanks! Last time I posted about something wrong with the show, I didn’t get a good response so this is kinda nice for once!

I felt bad for Maddie no matter what really, but specially during that BS and of course, the season 3 finale, but I aint touching that topic without putting a warning for Anti-Liv stuff.

Jillow was the shit I avoided- any time I saw a dam scene of it, I skipped the channel- SPEICALLY DURING THE NET EPISODE, LET ALONE THE EP WHERE JOEYS FORCED TO SING AND DANCE WITH WILLOW ON LIVE TV. And lord- I know….the only show I can name at this point pointing out the girl was toxic is Andi Mack- Liv and Maddie on the other hand: played it for laughs and then had the pair get together out of the blue despite me cheering when Joey looked relieved to be free almost.

Oh that scream was me btw- I love ranting about Karen Rooney, and half the time compare her to the fantastic parenting off Amy Duncan.

So my problems play off with how she acts with her kids, obviously- and before anyone asks, while I have problems with Pete, I cant say hes a bad dad fully as hes a, been off screen fully since the end of season 3, and b, outside of a few incidents, he was a better parent then his wife at this rate.

Lets go with my most disgusted moment yet with Karen- when Evan turned Parker basically into a slave for Karen and Karen fucking went along with it and even smiled throughout it- WTF- im sorry, while I agree chores need to be done- YOU DO NOT GO ABOUT IT LIKE THAT- SHE BASICALLY HAD EVAN BRAINWASH HER SON INTO DOING WHAT SHE WANTS, AND IN THE PROCESS, MOCKED PARKER BY DOING INTERESTS HE ENJOYS IN FRONT OF HIM- LIKE WTF- THE SLAVE PART IS THE MOST DISTURING THING- PARKER ALONE IS A HATED CHARACTER NOW AND THEN, BUT I FELT SO BAD FOR HIM THERE AND THEN CAUSE AGAIN WTF-

Another moment? The first time the Chedder Cheese thing came in- and Pete also gets a bad grade here btw as he appeared in this episode too- but basically, the parents and twins are facing off against each other- so what does this loving mother do? Support them? Encourage them? Give them luck? Or how about she fucking messes with their heads, takes her daughters cell phone in school and then gets a daughter banned from the contest just so she could win DESPITE MADDIE DOING WHAT KAREN DID TO THE TWINS THE ENTIRE EPISODE AND MADDIES BEING SANE COMPARED TO KARENS. Im sorry, but you do not MESS with your daughters HEADS- you do not fucking try to make them late to the contest, you do not get them disqualified cause they gave you a taste of your own medicine and you do not fucking make it look like your love for them is false when you congraduate your husband for telling them he loves them and he just smirks- LIKE WTF-

A minor instance here- but why did she make Maddies college choices about herself? Like, no Pete, DO NOT SUGGEST KAREN FOR HELP- Karen literally made it out to Maddie that Karens more important then Maddie just choosing a college- like at this rate lady, if you were my mom, I’d move out the moment I get the fucking chance and not let you near the grandkids.

Another time- she forces her son Parker into a pagent despite him clearly not wanting to do it and even when he says he doesn’t want to do it, she makes him anyway- and in the same ep, was disgusted at the idea of her daughters being sick- like sorry lady, thought you knew what parenting would be like the moment you became pregnant- thought you knew to not act like your daughters being sick is a nuisance.

BTW, another minor thing but im petty- when your daughter says they fine and don’t need your help with French- don’t force it down her throat, fucking give her the space and let her do it her own way.

Oh and another one! Yep, theres another! In a certain episode, Maddie is selling stuff to raise money for a school trip- and its her own stuff or old stuff, which is fair enough to be sold really- but Karen proves to be a hoarder as she tries to stop her daughter selling her old stuff like, I don’t know, her old scooter and her old doll thing- like Karen is such a hoarder to the point she thinks shes right and therefore, goes to Maddie with the picture she and Liv made as children, you know, the thing that actually means shit compared to the shit Karen is hoarding? Yeah, Karen pushes Maddie into putting a price on it- and while at it, calling it junk and not meaning which is gross as fuck as that’s Liv and Maddies picture and actually means shit compared to Karens stupid toothbrush collection- AND SOMEHOW, KARENS RIGHT WHEN SHE WASNT? NO YOU DICK, YOU MADE MADDIE SELL A IMPORTANT PICTURE COMPARED TO YEARS OLD TOOTHBRUSHES THAT SHOULD HAVE GONG IN THE BIN BY NOW- YOU AINT TEACHING MORALS, YOUR PROVING TO BE A HOARDER.

One more minor thing: She when grounding Maddie and Liv not only bans Maddie from getting a license until shes 18 which is gross as that’s trapping Maddie further with these assholes but she also says Liv has to drive her anywhere where she wants and at Liv’s protest, LAUGHS AND SAYS SHE MAY EVEN HAVE LIV DRIVE HER TO PICK UP THE NEWSPAPER-WAY TO TAKE JOY IN BEING A BAD PARENT BITCH.

Two more points, last ones I swear as I didn’t tune in much for season 4 and these are all the moments I can remember being fully disgusted with:

*Karen trying all the time to get in her daughters space- like, she wont stop getting in on it, claiming shes apart of it when shes not- and yet, she forces herself in so many times and then forces Maddie to send off her Diggie stuff and claims Maddies missing Diggie cause shes wearing sweatbands he gave her….I agree with Maddie here- fucking not right at all.

*This was along with Pete, so again, bad mark to him too- in the ep that Joey and Parker use the Gift Card they gave the parents ages ago, when they via Joey leaving his ID at the place, Karen admits THEY WONT PLANNING TO USE IT MEANING SHE HAS NO RIGHT TO COMPLAIN- but both get into their sons heads later and fucking SURROUND Joey singing the Goofy Gary song madly until Joey fesses up- like WTF-

Ok, and my reasons for comparing her to mother Amy Duncan? Amy, while self asorbed now and then and more into getting herself on stage and sometimes letting the spotlight take over her- still gave a dam about her kids to the point she fucking chased Teddy’s teacher throughout the school, was willing to try and help her kids no matter what, loved her kids fully and always learnt her lesson when she stepped beyond boundries- she respected Teddy’s decision and reasonings for keeping the play a secret from her and in response to having a large family, said they wont quitters- she doesn’t care for numbers, she loves her kids- the only time she sometimes pays around with her kids is when they have done bad shit- aka Teddy sneaking out to that party and when the kids lost Charlie almost- like Karen has nothing above Amy.

And its sad to see such a mom existed within Karen- could have had something- but nope- to go with the disturbing Jillow, we had to get bad parenting jokes next that were never called out.
