Been reading this x reader fanfic of Epic: the musical and animal crossing called 'Epic: The Fair Maiden' in @kquil's side blog kqutie and I've been loving the premise so much so I've decided to make a new OC based off of the fanfic she has made. And I'm honestly I'm so glad to find another fix it fanfic caus elile as much as I love the musical, it has given me too much angsts like damnit my boy Polites died when he has just finished singing a happy song and my guy Eurylochus wasn't able to get back home to his wife! Like come on! The guy also been loyal for so long like his bro Ody! Get him back to his wifey!

And disclaimer no the what I drew here isn't how reader is said to look like in the fic but it's just my Interpretation since reader is based off of reader themselves.

I named my OC Theo cause the name means miracle and also cause even tho the reader is called fair maiden by everyone in the fic (can I just say that I love how the reader is being referred to by an actual title instead of like y/n or like an "insert name here" cause like I love this part so much cause it makes the story so much more immersive somehow in head, I don't know maybe I just love how the reader is referred to something else after reading so many fanfics that makes you need to insert a name when you read a part of the name) I don't know why but I thought it would be so funny that her real name would rhyme with Calypso since in the story she's basically like the anti-Calypso cause unlike Calypso who wants to keep Odysseus so that he'll be with her forever the second the fair maiden meets the whole crew she does everything she can to get all these grown ass man to finally have some peace while she helps them be tip top shape to get back home and is Odysseus' and by extension Eurylochus' supporter in getting these two loving husbands to get back to their beloved wives (⁠●⁠♡⁠∀⁠♡⁠)

For the look I gave her I don't know why but I thought of strawberries when I made her and I thought it'll be so cute cause like she's so sweet in the fic and also she can't talk which added a unintentionally reference to Ariel and basically because she's a disney princess here, so with that I gave her bright red hair with strawberry flowers covering it and I also made her have these cone swirl hairstyles? (What do you call this hairstyles in anime) As abit of a reference to how Eurylochus says that no outfit (which I'm extending to hair here) will stop her from doing any labor work. And I gave her green eyes as like the green leaf on strawberries. And I sorta wanted her to be short and have a plump body type cause like she's being referred shorter then Eurylochus and also being referred to be like a chipmunk when she ran a grabbed every single gold from the money tree in the fic. And I thought the plump body shape would fit since I think if I remember correctly in ancient Greece a woman being more plump is considered beautiful and with how the story literally gave her the title fair maiden I think it fits well! And then I just gave her the dresses that's being described in the fic and done! Honestly the hardest fore to draw is the whale shark, seriously coloring that thing's spots are hard!

Rattrap x Maximal Reader

Transforming into (Animal mode), ____ was quick to make her way towards the nearby mountains. Cheetor and Rattrap had somehow managed to cause a rock slide while patrolling for predicons, and per usual Optimus had sent ____ to retrieve them.

"Arrived at mountains, Optimus. Geez this place is a mess." ____ spoke into her comm as she gazed up at the mountain she stood under. Dust covered the area, and small rocks were still bouncing down the cliffs.

"Affermative ____, do try to bring them back in one piece." The comm buzzed with slight static, likely due to the distance between herself and the Axalon (that is what the ship is called right?).

"No promises." ____ said to herself as her optics gazed over each fallen rock pile, each messy cliff side, everything she could see. She only relaxed a bit at the sight of a hand popping out of a pile of rocks near her.

____ made her way over, working to move the rocks off of whoever was stuck underneath. Each moved rock revealed a little more of the grimey brown form underneath. Rattrap. Great.

____ rolled her eyes at the rattled expression on his face, he was clearly dazed and likely would be for a while. Now to find Cheetor.

"Hey-uhhh- toots... never thought rocks could be so heavy."

"Are you injured, Rattrap?"

"Only my pride. The kid is probably worse off than me." Rattrap grunted out, flicking a pebble off his chassis.

"Do you know where he is?"

Rattrap scratched his head as he thought. "Not really... I mean, I know he was ahead of me. Never slows down, that one."

She heaved the rat out of the rocks and set him to the side so she could continue her search. A brief energon scan showed that Cheetor was in fact under a some rocks ahead of Rattrap. ____ made her was over and got to work moving the rocks, revealing the youngest bot on the team.

"He's in stasis, I'll need to carry him back. Can you walk, Rattrap?" ____ asked while heaving the cheetah bot onto her shoulders in a fireman carry. She looked back to Rattrap and watched with concern as he shakily stood.

"Eh- of course I can. Beast mode!" His systems hesitated a second before following his command and transforming into his animal form.

____ nodded and began walking, making sure to be slow enough for Rattrap to keep up with. She activated her comm to let Optimus know she located their teammates and was heading back to base.

After ____ was done, she turned her attention back to Rattrap.

"So what's the deal with the rockslide?"

Rattrap cringed slightly and hesitated not wanting to say anything, however a glare from ____ was enough to prompt him into spilling his data.

"*sigh* We spotted a pred. Spots over there decided that he would rush off into battle, then before I knew it we were covered in rocks."

____ let out an exasperated sigh. "Why didn't you call in for backup? What if something else happened?"

"Listen, I'm sorry sweetspark alright? It was just that ant bot, I thought we could take him."

"Well you thought wrong." Uncomfortable silence laied heavy on their shoulders. The Axalon came into view. Rhinox and Optimus were waiting at the entrance and began approaching once they saw ____ and Rattrap coming towards them.

Optimus standing tall was quick to take Cheetor off of ____'s shoulders and into the ship for repairs. Rhinox looked down to Rattrap and asked if he needed assistance.

"Eh, I can wait till da boss is done givin the kid repairs."

Rhinox nodded and started walking away with ____ following after, only to be halted by Rattraps hand in hers, pulling her back.

When ____ looked back at him, all she saw was a look of sadness. Guilt shone through his optics as he stared into hers, a desperate plea for her to stay beside him.

"Listen, I- I'm sorry alright? I'll try to be more careful, just... please don't leave."

____ sighed as she looked down at her hand in his, tracing her thumbs over his knuckles as she spoke.

"I'm sorry too."

"For what?"

"It wasn't your fault. You probably were worried about not getting blasted and trying to help Cheetor. I shouldn't be upset but I just can't help it. I'm worried about you Rattrap. If something happened to you, I don't know what I'd do with myself."

Rattrap and ____ gazed in eachothers optics for a brief moment. If any outsider were to notice, they would see nothing more than the complete and utter love and devotion the two held for eachother.

"Yeah, I guess that's fair. I wouldn't know what to do if anything happened to you either. I'm just glad Inferno left after the rockslide."

____ paused, and looked to the side in thought.

"Say, why would Inferno leave that early? You would think he would want to take you two as some sort of present for his dear old "queen"."

Rattrap paused too, before rubbing his neck cables and dismissing the thought.

"He probably didn't want to get caught in the rocks like we were."

____ gave Rattrap a kiss on his helm. "Yeah, you're probably right..." She attempted to shake away the thoughts. "Anyway, we should take you back into the base. Don't want you collapsing after the sheer exhaustion of your daring mission."

"Oh ha-ha, so funny."

____ laughed and Rattrap chuckled as they made their way into the Axalon hand in hand.

Fav horror movie recommendations if you feel like sharing? I try to watch one a day in Oct and my list is a little light this year!

Hi hi hi I'm gonna be obnoxious and recommend a few of varying moods!! (⁠.⁠ ⁠❛⁠ ⁠ᴗ⁠ ⁠❛⁠.⁠)

1.) Ring

One of the main inspirations for the J-Horror boom in the early 2000's, Ring (often referred to as "Ringu") is a moody suspense flick with aspirations towards solving the mystery of a mysterious curse transmitted via VHS tape.

Based on the novel by Koji Suzuki, Ring captures the mood and tone of the book much moreso than the American Remake (which as far as American remakes go is loud but fine) and has a few stand out moments. It's definitely a favorite of mine.

2.) Sleepaway Camp

Definitely not a popular pick, Sleepaway Camp is a typical summer camp slasher (as was the style at the time) and holds up shockingly well*** all things considered! (We'll get to the asterisk in the CW)

Sleepaway Camp is carried by odd, earnest, and fun performances, the kids are kids who yell, swear, and are silly, the adults are either Shakespearean or complete planks of wood, and they all bounce off each other with really naturalistic and hysterical dialogue, it's very quotable. A great fun time with friends. BUT...

CW: Spoilers! Transphobia, the entire film has trickles of mild queer symbolism in some dream sequences, but the big ending reveal is that surprise! The killer is trans! And that is depicted as being more horrifying than the decapitated head they're holding. In the queer lens I view this in today it's quite a fun film with a lot of revenge kills but it's still, in the text and to the mass audience, it's quite a Hallmark of pop culture transphobia. Take is or leave is.

3.) Us

Something more contemporary, more artistic, and honestly funny, Us by Jordan Peele is a very interesting high concept film, and his second overall. The concept of the doppelganger is not new, but to see it plain as day, so well executed is super interesting to see properly.

Us gets a lot of flack for being a bit more bloated and messy compared to other Peele films, but I like to think of the looseness of the rules and the bleakness of the metaphor to be very engaging and beautiful

4.) La Casa Lobo

Where the fuck do I start with this one, La Casa Lobo is in universe, a propaganda-y children's story for a midsommar ass cult, and it is as beautiful as it is horrifying. This stop motion, paper maché, charcoal nightmare is always moving, always uncanny, and always isolating. It's phenomenal, and while it's premise may be simple, entering the wolf house will make you feel like you can't leave.

CW: animal violence, child endangerment, it's uncanny as fuck.

4.) [•REC]

This Spanish found footage "zombie" movie is a blast from start to end with great pacing. Not so much a story as it is more of a "things happening" movie, [•REC] never fails to deliver on the tension or scares. I have a soft spot for the film, as I saw it as a kid with my folks IN PARTS on YouTube like a fucking anime

If that doesn't age me I don't know what will.

CW: Child death, particularly jumpscarey, gore and body horror

5.) heck/Skinamarink

Predecessor to recent indie smash hit, Skinamarink, heck is the litmus test as to whether or not you can stomach Skinamarink. Slow, creeping, exclusively diagetic, and immensely creepy. There is little plot, and it's again an experience, but one that feels like a living breathing Nightmare.

The reason heck is here first instead of Skinamarink, is mainly length vs quality vs density. Skinamarink is a very good picture but for the average person it wears out it's welcome by the 1 hour mark, and we still got like 40 min to go. heck is a bite sized 30 minute short film that just gets to the point quicker. However with the reduced runtime, you lose the density of the atmosphere. It's both better but lesser. Both heck and Skinamarink are fine movies, but definitely pick which one you wanna see based on the mood of the evening and your company

The Cabinet of Dr. Calagari - it's the first, it's beautiful, and still an admirable work of art to this day, around 100 years later

Gojira - while the character is nowadays more of an action property, the original Gojira is still incredibly harrowing

Tetsuo the Iron Man - loud, intense, and metal as fuckkk. Tetsuo is a more surreal extreme horror movie full of body horror and antagonistic sound design

Chainmail Chasers - a quaint horror series based off of the old smiledog creepypasta. Considering it's just like one gal and her friends it's very impressive, still in progress

Local 58 - a well regarded foreboding horror series regarding mysteries around the moon and how that relates to the local news station

Materials:

18" x 24" paper or larger

pink paint for background (I used watercolor)

Bright/neon pink paint for spots (I used posca markers)

Brown paint (I was going to use watercolor but went with posca markers as well)

Tacs or take to apply to wall

Paint brush if using acrylic or watercolor

Step 1: gather materials

Step 2: paint background pink

Step 3: add dots and organic circular shapes

Step 4: around & on top of your pink dots add brown organic shapes that mimic cheetah print. You can use a reference or free hand. * I made sure to use a variation of 1) dot totally encased in brown 2) brown dot inside pink dot 3) one side, two side, three side, and four sides obscured by brown shapes 4) make some brown shapes off center from the pink dots 5) alternate the sides being covered

Step 5: Attach to wall

You're done! ★ Do this as many times as needed to cover the space on your wall

BUT. we were going around and picking the game we would be doing our final presentation on, and he chose doki doki literature club, and my only thought was
