When we first meet the Third Prince in She who became the sun, he’s introduced as a sparring opponent for Ouyang during the Spring Hunt. Ouyang, who is strong and blunt and does not give a fuck about entertaining the audience or sparing the Third Prince’s royal emotions, simply strikes him down in one swift movement of a sword.

Then we meet the Third Prince again in He who drowned the world, where he mocks and berates Baoxiang for being an effeminate man, and one of the things he says to Baoxiang is:

“You’re so weak and afraid. You can’t even fight. When they pushed you, you just fell.”

And I just……….
