A WIP of Manju, the founder of my clan's village!

#flightrising #frfanart #flight rising #fr coatl #fr art #I was having fun using a lot of color with this one which is unusual for me #I want to change this pretty heavily so I thought it would be fun to show what it looks like now #He is a self-exiled coatl that wandered the world looking for a place that felt like home #and found a small pocket of land where dragons avoided due to 'bad vibes'#the spirit of the wellspring of the region was corrupted #The water was poison #no plants would grow well #and thus the animals avoided the area #though he wasn't particularly magic inclined he was persistent #and was able to heal all of the corruption #but the damage was done and the previous spirit was too weak to heal from the wounds the shade caused #so upon the previous guardian's passing Manju absorbed the magic of the spring and became the region's new guardian #and in this newly protected region the Highlands clan set down their roots #This scene depicts him giving up his mortal life to become a guardian spirit #I'm also trying to come up with a new name for him that fits with my lair's naming scheme #but nothing ever feels quite right #I'm very open to suggestions!

Plans #that may or may not involve placing a $500+ order for a custom acrylic aquarium. :)#bc i just can’t have normal hobbies nooOOOO it’s always gotta be the most difficult stressful and expensive shit on earth #but after the past 3 days of planning and moving things around in the house and throwing my back out #i have just realized that the aquarium stand i planned to use will need Further modifications in order to be compatible. fuck!!!#and so as usual when i hit any minor speed-bump while on my fixation-train. i have crashed the train and set it on fire and am debating #abandoning the project entirely. bc i would need to ask **** for help with modifying the stand. and **** is Not in the mood to help me.#like not just for today but for the foreseeable future or maybe ever. i think i’ve already reached his limit of help for this #if i go in there like ‘heeeyyy so y’know that stand i had you spend all that time reinforcing? yeah it needs more. more modifications.’#and i actually don’t even know if it can even be made to work at this point. and i do Not have the money for a new stand #the tank is one thing but the whole point of this project was to make use of the stand i already have #without that it’s just an unjustifiable waste of money bc im starved for happy chemicals and want a big new aquarium to distract me.#anyways i haven’t. Ordered the tank yet. in spite of my use of the term ‘impulse’ im not. recently thinking about the concept of a new npc/semi-cryptid healer character: a little (REALLY little) old lady who rides around on a giant animal (boar or something) whose....family(??) has a long history of healing talents through accupuncture, herbal remedies, pressure points, chiropractic things, etc.

the family line/line of practice has a history of very long life BECAUSE of the healing practices, so this little old lady is maybe...150? 170? years old??? shed be the healer the guild goes to, since her remedies are BETTER than mochis magic AND limes tech junk, she can help any one of them without problem

but the odd thing about her is that shes NOT a witch, weirdly. her healing is 100% natural, which means it works on those with high magic res, since it has nothing to do with magic.

i also think the family history would have this weird relationship with witches, where theyre willing to heal them (for a price of course), but they absolutely REFUSE to give their secrets to any witch. "You'll just make it better and put us out of a job." they always say, so even mochi doesnt know what the hell is in that soup shes eating, all she knows is that its capable of instantly restoring 90% of her magic (5 day cooldown before she can drink it again though, lest she die)

#she either has a shop set up in a place easily teleported to OR she travels around like the merchant #though i think the teleport point makes more sense if you need to easily access her #becuase shes technically a human she doesnt pop up everywhere and anywhere like the merchant #(the secret is in the knowledge and ingredients) she says while cracking limes neck and somehow it fixes his sore foot #the insane old lady character #also the small(tm) character like robbie from totk or the grandma from ranma #her name is madam springs #(like hot springs!) she says (cuz i can heal you with a touch!) and then paralyzes you #do you think shed know certain pressure points like in atla where she can stop you from using magic #another reason to do magic commissions so you can buy these insane healing products #mochi: (looking at thing in bottle) its a potion?#madam springs: what?? no!! none of that magic junk. its called the hibbie-jibbie-remover. my own personal invention.#madam springs: takes away all stress in 2 minutes guarenteed!!#lime slowly takes the bottle away from mochi (i dont like that name.) he says #one thing about all the cryptids is that they all have a no-fighting policy within their vicinities #since multiple witches and magic creatures go to them. if you see another witch you have a beef with while youre there you gotta fight late #they dont let that shit slide

Would love to know why international acts always seem to come out here in the dead of summer. Nothing says fun like performing in 40° celsius heat

#its especially funny when its some norwegian metal band my brother likes or something #like are your tour managers actually trying to kill you who planned this #but also a reason i barely go to concerts bc its like lol pay 180 bucks to stand in blaring heat 🫶#um.... im okay #i went to florence and the machine a while back and while it was a great concert and she did amazing #it was a 40 degree day and even tho she didnt come out til the sun was setting it was still 37° out and there was no seating #so i ended up stripping half my dress off and just having the underskirt and my bra on and so did p much everyone else bc we were dying #and she kept stopping the show bc she was seeing people faint in the audience and would ask security to go check on them #also winter here is perfect??? like it doesnt snow it doesnt rain much its often 20-23 c during the day so im just ?????#do a winter show and leave the summer shows for places that are ice tundras in the winter or something idk #if skz does come here this yr which they might not i mean there was 4 years between the first concerts here and the last #but i hope its in autum winter early spring lol
