(Sorry about that screenshot... 😅) #SpringIntoSpring2020 #Day31 "What is the next resource on your list?" --- I had to look at @tokyostudylife story to understand what what was being asked. 😶 --- I plan to really sit down and study with Kanji Tree and Kanji Study. I've completely derailed from my goal of learning 1000 kanji this year. For Spanish I'll be reading the books I bought. 🙃 And I deserted Lingodeer and Duolingo, so I'll be on those as well. 🤷🏾♀️ https://www.instagram.com/p/B-aBo5BnbB1/?igshid=16k4ktx4u1xw6

🌸•Day 3 of #springintospring2020 : What is your strategy?•🌸 🍓I'm assuming this means method of study? It depends on the language, but generally I like to use textbooks as a guide for what to study and making incremental progress. Without structure I go all over the place! They're not the only thing I study, but I use them as a base. I pretend like I'm at school and I try to figure out what the main points of the lesson are or what it's trying to teach me. Funny, that never worked for math class 🤨. 🍓For example: today I read lesson 8 in this Chinese book. The main points I try to cover in this particular book are dialogue, grammar, and the practice problems. I do make note of new vocabulary or words I want to remember on the sticky notes. My focus in studying Mandarin at the moment is learning how to speak naturally, so I do skip certain parts of the chapter if they don't fit what I'm trying to accomplish. With Japanese and Korean, I take more vocabulary notes. 🍓This book is completely in Korean, so I study the HSK book more in depth for grammar and vocabulary because it's in English. I also try to get some listening in by watching youtube videos in Chinese or listening to a pimsleur lesson. 😄💕💕💕 . . . . . . . . . . https://www.instagram.com/p/B9TN6pQhmD-/?igshid=hb9hihs0p51a

#SpringIntoSpring2020 #Day29 "What other languages are you interested in learning?" --- Oh gosh...uh, A LOT. 😆 My list is fairly long but here are the ones I want to learn in order: Spanish, Japanese (learning these 2 right now), French, Korean, Chinese (Mandarin for my friend, Cantonese and Shanghainese for myself 😁), Portuguese, Italian, Vietnamese and Thai. In that order. 💁🏾♀️ There are even more but...😅😅 Yall already judgin me so I'm gonna keep it to myself. --- As of now Korean is REALLY calling my name, but I know if I wait until I reach my desired level of fluency in the others, it will be so worth the wait! 😄 Plus I want to develop a form of discipline and I can't do that language hopping. 🤷🏾♀️ https://www.instagram.com/p/B-Vck0NHLOn/?igshid=9au82r0faoil

#SpringIntoSpring2020 #Day28 "Write a sentence (TL) using what you learned this month!"

#SpringIntoSpring2020 #Day24 "Do you find studying your TL relaxing or stressful?" --- Uh... both? 😅 Take today for instance. I was reviewing over words I highlighted from ブラックジャック and because of the way one of the characters speaks, I get confused. Things are often shortened or abbreviated. I asked for help on HiNative so much that someone told me to go read it on a site with furigana. And I kinda snapped at them (in polite Japanese) because it wasn't the kanji that was necessarily a problem, but how it was used and how certain things were phrased... 😩 --- But as time went on, I accepted I wasn't going to be able to find everything in my dictionary, and sometimes I'm not gonna find the answer. At least, not today. So, add it to the vocab spreadsheet 😁 and keep moving forward. Once I did that, the stress went away and I felt at ease. I reviewed a grammar point today (that ALWAYS makes me happy) and watched a movie in Spanish (didn't understand it fully, but followed it okay). --- It only becomes stressful when my perfect patty side tries to take over. Once I just let go and enjoy my TLs, even if I'm speaking in broken, clumsy Spanish or Japanese, I feel great. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-I8712n6PQ/?igshid=wag5fxvpn69a

#SpringIntoSpring2020 #Day23 "What's difficult in studying your TL?" --- I'm just gonna write these in my native language since that seems to be what everyone else is doing. --- 🇯🇵JPN: Hmm... speaking is probably the hardest thing. The sentence structure feels so different that I have to pause... think a moment... talk... pause and think again. I've also been lazy about studying kanji. I'm just not sure how to go about it: radical method, learn according by grade level, learn by frequency, learn by sight, 🙆🏽♀️🙆🏽♀️🙆🏽♀️🙆🏽♀️🙆🏽♀️😭 I'm so frustrated with myself that I often find myself thinking, "JUST START SOMEWHERE ALREADY!" --- 🇪🇸SPN: Subjunctive and using the imperfect and preterite at the same time. It's all confusing on when and HOW to use them. I'm also trying to figure out what dialect I want to learn. Originally I mostly spoke to people from Spain, but that has changed. I still want to familiarize myself with other dialects, and learn vosotros form, but figuring it out may take some time. I've become very curious about Equatorial Guinea, but trying to find speakers has been... 😔 https://www.instagram.com/p/B-FJX3Qn3FN/?igshid=k6smi9hmiz1a
