The Adventure Continues...
I was inspired by the skyboxes in the old Spyro games, and I drew that Spyro from memory :D

Just wanted a couple pics with Spyro all supercharged against the fucking amazing skybox.
December 4th, 2019
Heya! I stream on Twitch and at some point I'll be streaming Spyro Reignited Trilogy, because I love the first 3 games so much. If you wanna see me play, you can find my Twitch channel right here :D
EDIT 05/03/2023: I actually just on the 1st of May finished up my playthrough of Spyro 2. I do want to play 3, but... Tears of the Kingdom first!

idk if this counts but the skyboxes from the PS1 Spyro games
that like, triangular multicolor gradient thing going on
ok wow this turned out super interesting!!
i assumed that this was just prerendered somewhere and then brought into the game on a sphere or something like a lot of games. but i wanted to see just in case so i found a model rip and UH?
ACTUALLY IT TURNS OUT THEY JUST PAINTED THEM DIRECTLY ONTO A SPHERE USING THE VERTEX COLORS?
this absolutely saves a Ton of space back in the era of early 3d games not needing a giant skybox texture & saves a ton on rendering too it just caught me sooo off guard. but that explains why theyre triangular, and gradient!! when you paint vertex colors, two vertices next to eachother will blend into eachother from one's color to the next. essentially every point on this sphere's color bleeds into all the surrounding points. someone sure had fun with this

Hold Your Horns!~
I think this is the most colourful thing I've ever drawn 😊
*After getting some really lovely feedback from this one, I feel that I should share my thought process when coming up with this art.
Spyro has a lovely, rich colour palette which lends itself very well to complimentary and analagous colours.
I had already coloured Spyro before putting in a background but couldn't have left him 'floating' against a white background as the blues and pinks needed something to help them 'pop'.
So, I went back to the classic skyboxes of the original games and I've always loved the vibrant gradients of colour used across the skies.
This was a fun piece to put together and I finally feel more settled in my artstyle so a big thanks to everyone's love and support! <3
