If they're still canon in ggAU then I would like to know more about Dream Weavers

They are still canon! Haven't shown much of them because I'm building up their entrance to the story! So I can't spill all the beans just yet but I can offer some basics!

The Dream Weavers consist of two supernatural entities: Corvus (the raven) and Odious (the owl).

As their title suggests, they weave/create the dreams of all living creatures. Corvus is responsible for the the good dreams, Odious for the nightmares. Dreams are the bridge between life and death that humans and other beings wander every time they sleep, so it shouldn't come as a suprise that these two work for Death.

They reside in the office space that is sandwiched between Heaven and Hell and technically belongs to Death but he doesn’t spend much time there himself. Although these three institutions mostly act independently from one another, Heaven and Hell each have one angel and demon assigned to assist the Dream Weavers. Death connects them, after all; mortals usually only get to Heaven or Hell when they die.

There are some ggAU plot points I won't reveal just yet because they will be adressed soon but I can say this one thing that I know I won't be drawing/writing anytime soon (if ever):

After Armageddon't, while Warlock restores the world, he works out a deal with Death that they offer to Francis: He can become immortal but in turn he will have to work for the Dream Weavers. He accepts and becomes kind of like their human ambassador and helps them by writing scripts for dreams.

[Grade 1] A large sofa with enough space to sit ten people, but it's immense comfort is mostly just used as a means for Canaan to slack off. -- "I needed a change of pace so I'm on my fifth break of the day."

[Grade 1O] Adel has an idea. He thinks that if we make the sofa more elegant then Canaan won't slack off on it so casually. To that end, he replaced the covers and cushions with a top of the line design

[Grade 30] Adel finally realized… That people's personalities cannot be changed as easily as sofa cushions. As usual, Canaan is lounging on the luxurious settee.

[Grade 1] Sometimes, it is not enough to simply choose luxury. For example, in other countries, it is said that one can only sense true emotion in something desolate. This is a table designed for those who seek such an essence.

[Grade 1O] The center of the table now houses a vase filled with flowers offered as tribute to Merry Rose by one the many people enchanted by him. "You really have no taste, do you?" He says, looking at the flowers with a mix of kindness and hatred reflected in his eyes…

[Grade 30] Thanks in equal parts to the talented meisters and their hardworking guildkeeper, Dream Weaver is now a place where everyone can gather around dreamy candles and healing flowers, to talk and laugh and spend their time in true luxury.

Christmas usually means two things - family and presents.

And in the Dragon Realms, there were lots and lots and lots of family and presents to be found in a single gathering, which meant there was plenty of fun to be had long after Santa left and the thrill of eviscerating wrapping paper wore off.

Each and every last one of these tots scored at least two gifts - something courtesy of Santa, and however many they got from their caretakers.

And boy howdy, did they need him to shoulder some of the burden with so many kids around.

Juggling secret shopping and craftsmanship with decorating and childrearing was not an easy task at a magnanimous scale, on top of all the additional effort that was customary during the Year of the Dragon.

Toys comprised the majority of the babies’ Christmas presents, with close runners-up being Mudada’s stuffed animals and whatever assortment of knitted goods Revilo had whipped up - mostly sweaters. The pair of Dream Weavers were miracle workers when it came to their crafts; their finesse and efficacy could give the Artisans (and perhaps even Santa) a run for their money.

Fittingly, the eponymous dragon faction dedicated the majority of their days to the little ones throughout the leadup to Christmas, helping both their clutches and any visitors from the other clans make decorations, or working in tandem to build toys, predominantly in the form of Nestor putting his carpentry skills to good use and Lindar providing assistance with the mechanisms. If colours were required, Gildas was their man.

And yet somehow, despite all the time and resources that went into personal gifts, there had been enough leftover in the budget for them to provide spare toys that could be kept around in the nurseries for everyone to play with.

Well, maybe the surplus wasn’t entirely unintentional. Kids often necessitated backups and extra precautions.

Suffice to say, there ended up being hundreds and hundreds of gifts altogether.

A handful of them seemed like they’d be more suitable for pets such as chew toys (no matter how often the hatchlings acted like cats and dogs), but were guaranteed to satisfy their teething issues (and discourage them from mauling all the furniture in sight).

The presence of coal amongst all of the toys from Santa had less to do with it being a punishment for naughty little dragons and rather being something that several nutcases legitimately wanted for Christmas.

It made sense in some aspects because coal could serve as materials for aspiring Beast Makers…but not so much in the cases where the concept of black rocks that were given as punishments piqued their interest for whatever reason.

All the tumult that new toys brought couldn’t compare to what unfolded after a handful of bright sparks realised that there were many fun things you can do with coal, including but not limited to setting it on fire and potentially compromising your health over the long term, throwing it at walls and leaving powdery stains everywhere, crushing it up and mixing it with snow to create unholy grey sludge, or making snowmen that either had the perfect black buttons and eyes, yearned for the sweet release of death, or both.

Either way, every last lump had been enchanted to negate any ill effects they could have on the little ones or leave harmful residue anywhere - and the elder dragons were quick to dispose of it once the novelty wore off.

Dream Weaver dragons are natural night owls

You know when you are on a spiritual path and you think you have finally found your place, your calling, doing what you are meant to be doing? That feeling when you think you have things figured out, it is such a high isn’t it?

What happens when the trajectory of that path makes a complete 180 and you are left with your head spinning facing so many fears and doubts about everything?

The card in the picture, When Coyote Calls Your Name, is from Colette Baron-Reid’s Dream Weavers Oracle and it was the card I drew for my daily reading for today.

The beginning of September 2022, I had an encounter with the Greek God of Dreams - Morpheus. It was and still is a very profound moment for me but one I wasn’t ready for at the time (one I oftentimes still don’t feel ready for).

Fast forward to earlier this year, Morpheus showed up once again. This time Loki was present and insisted that I answer Morpheus’ call. To do so though would mean a complete change in the dynamic of all my divine relationships, including the one I have with Loki.

And so, I have been living the very essence of When Coyote Calls Your Name since. I have not handled it well and have been resisting at every step even though the experience I had with Morpheus is one that I have longed for and even wished for since I was a child.

Seeing the card today is another reminder that I am still clinging to what I had and not making way for what I need.

The guidebook says “When Coyote Calls Your Name, you will know that this was the best way for you after all. Your life is woven true, and new threads of your experience sparkle. There really was no loss or disappointment at all - only a new, meaningful adventure and a beautiful story to tell.”

The universe knows the truth of my heart, I know the truth of my heart and now that Coyote calls my name, maybe, just maybe I will finally be able to listen and see what dreams await me on this new adventure.

Hail Morpheus, God of Dreams! I praise and honor you! Where you lead, I shall follow. May my dreams be ever safe in your care.

YasaOCtober2022: Veil

Some more ggAU OCs I’ve had for a while but never shared; two celestial beings known as the ‘Dream Weavers’. The crow, Corvus, is responsible for the dreams, the owl, Odious for the nightmares (names are still pending). I hope to drop more info about them soon but for now all I can share is that they are the superiors of a few other ggAU characters 👀 If you’ve ever had a good or bad dream, now you know who to blame.

For this year’s YasaOCtober challenge (hosted by yasao.art on insta!) I decided to stick to OCs from my GoodGardenerAU - that means other/unseen versions of characters you might already know and completely new ones!

Also, it really makes me realise how much Ancha’s child form looks like the Skylanders character, Whirlwind. I didn’t get too much into Skylanders, but Whirlwind’s design was definitely an influence on Ancha’s colour scheme.
