as i'm workin on my Ancient stuff- i've got to say that it is really interesting and neat (read: nasty) that there's a good chance most of the Ancient population probably didn't actually wear masks. but We think they did cuz the only really solid evidence of what they looked like at all all comes from places of the higher social circles. and those strived for religious... superiority, i guess. brownie points, not actual dedication to the religion for the sake of its teachings but either because it made them look good, put them higher in the social hierarchy or whatever manipulation have you (or the flawed look upon the religion aka "we gotta get out of this cycle no matter what")
all we are left with are the bastards. the simple people and their cultures that were left to weather the Iterators' rains were simply washed away. nobody cared for their way of life- as long as it served the higher circles well and they stayed submissive (enough so that at the end everyone would take a dip in the void), nobody had to give a singular shit
just how much do we not know about the Ancients' *everything* because of this disregard? how much do we think we are right about, when such is true only for the small but privileged piece of the species?

How can Joe ever trust Ming?
So,
If you look at it from Joe's perspective, he met a hot guy...started an affair...progressed to live-in relationship and pseudo boyfriends...only to learn that Ming has only ever wanted him because of Tong.
There was no hope for Life 1.0 because Joe knows that Tong is unattainable for Ming and therefore Ming will try to coax, keep Joe however possible to keep enjoying the fantasy
BUT BUT
Begins life 2.0
He can see Ming putting in all this effort. Let's say even if everyone tells him of how devastated Ming was and how much he loves Joe1.0...the fact of the matter is... if it were love, he wouldn't be buying off the very next person that came on the block with Tong's back..
Even when Ming will grovel...this is such a huge betrayal of trust to overcome...
That's what true love in dramaworld is always about- even if it kills you, you stick to the one you love....you absolutely don't mess around...you starve yourself, go into depression but you don't start a boyfriend part 2

hiiiii before i trap u in my labyrinth i would love to hear about ur twd ocs. (guy who plans to use this for evil while holding a crumpled notebook)
Oh man, I have like...7 of them? All of them were made originally just for shipping purposes but have grown into their own people now!
So! I'm gonna yeet them under the cut here ♡
Finnley Jones | They/Them - Absolutely thriving in the apocalypse. They take no shit from anyone. Definitely an "act first, think later" kind of person and has been through Trauma. They're fearless and fiercely loyal to a fault, not even willing to be critical of the people they're loyal to. (I ship them with Daryl lately, but also Negan sometimes!)
Dixie-Anne | She/Her - Dixie was the typical southern girl pre-apocalypse. She's thriving now, but in her original story, things do not end well for her at all. She has a baby and a boyfriend and she is Finn's best friend. She's too trusting and naive for her own good, and it's backfired on her more than once. (I ship her with my other OC Trevor)
Trevor | He/Him - Absolute bi disaster. If it weren't for his girlfriend and Finn, this man would be Dead. He's sort of a useless guy, but he's doing his best, and he has two people who look out for him and keep him safe. Except for that one time, he fell down an embankment and got a gash in his leg because he wasn't watching where he was going. (He's with Dixie as stated above)
Rowan | He/They - Stoic and withdrawn, they're calculating and cold compared to the others. It protects his life but also prevents him from forming relationships, and that's very unfortunate in a setting where human contact is already severely limited. They would rather be alone than with people, but unfortunately, humans are a social species. (I don't currently ship them with anyone)
Bambi | She/They - Bambi is, as you'd probably expect, riddled with severe anxiety. It's a wonder she's lasted this long considering how bad it is. They're definitely the kind of person to freeze when confronted with something that could hurt them. Rowan is the only reason she's still alive at this point. (I don't currently ship them with anyone)
Silver | They/Them - Prior to the apocalypse, they attempted something irreversible. They promised their friend they wouldn't do it again, with the caveat that it wouldn't be the same kind of attempt. That said, nothing is stopping them from being too reckless or working themself to exhaustion to try in a different way. Currently, in their canon, they're at the Sanctuary, working for points like every other poor sap there. (I don't currently ship them with anyone)
Ecks | They/Them - Not technically an oc and definitely more of a self insert, but I love them. So! Here they are! Anyway, they're a stoner and love to just vibe. They're not super skilled at anything in particular or specific, but they're good at helping people and can learn quickly. They love, love, love picking on people, and pressing buttons. Getting a rise out of folks is their favorite pastime. They hate disloyalty, and the stoner persona is to keep others safe from their anger issues. (I ship them with Negan because OF COURSE I do)
Anyway, that's them! I did a couple of picrews of a few of them ages ago and could probably look around for those if anyone wants to see them ♡

"This is uh. When I was growing up me and my dad used to go at it all the time. Over almost anything, but uh, I used to have really long hair way down past my shoulders, I was 17 or 18, oh man he used to hate it. And we got to where we were fighting so much that I'd spend a lot of time out of the house. And in the summertime it wasn't so bad, 'cause it was warm and your friends were out. But in the winter I remember standin' downtown and it would get so cold, when the wind would blow. I had this phone booth that I used to stand in and I used to call my girl for hours at a time just talking to her all night long.
"And finally I'd get my nerve up to go home. I'd stand there in the driveway and he'd be waiting for me in the kitchen. And I'd tuck my hair down in my collar and I'd walk in, and he'd call me back to sit down with him. And the first thing he'd always ask me was what did I think I was doin' with myself? And the worst part about it was I could never explain it to him.
"I remember I got in a motorcycle accident once and I was laid up in bed and he had a barber come in and cut my hair. And man, I can remember telling him that I hated him and that I would never ever forget it.
"And he used to tell me 'Man, I can't wait until the army gets you. When the army gets you they're gonna make a man outta you. They're gonna cut all that hair off, and they'll make a man outta you.'
"This was I guess in '68 and there was a lot of guys from the neighborhood goin' to Vietnam. I remember the drummer in my first band comin' over to my house with his marine uniform on, saying that he was goin' and that he didn't know where it was. And a lot of guys went and a lot of guys didn't come back. And a lot that came back weren't the same anymore.
"And I remember the day I got my draft notice. I hid it from my folks, and three days before my physical me and my friends went out and we stayed up all night. And we got on the bus to go that morning, man we were all so scared. [Laughs]. and I went, and I failed. [Crowd cheering.]
"And I came home, — [laughs] it's nothing to applaud about — But I remember comin' home after I'd been gone for three days, and walkin' in the kitchen and my mother and father were sittin' there, and my father said, 'Where you been?' and I said, uh, 'I went to take my physical.'
"He says, 'What happened?' I said, 'They didn't take me.'
"And he said, 'That's good.'"
