dude when i tell you i read your essay crying and throwing up with little exaggeration. there gets to be a point of gon freecss standom where thinking about him becomes physically nauseating despite him ostensibly just being a green little anime boy. but it's actually worse and far far more serious than that. gon is ultimately a doomed child prodigy precisely because doom always befalls a child prodigy. because one always grows out of either the latter or the former but it nonetheless spells tragedy on whatever concept of self the child's managed to build up beforehand. the fact that either way there is a monstrousness left behind because there's nothing normal (human) expected to be done with a child like that. because hunters, all hunters, are defined by prioritizing their wants/desires over other people and priorities in their lives. gon is an especially self-destructive example, pushing himself to monstrous extremes because he's the only freecss hunter with a pre-established model to follow and wants to be what ging expects of him. so ging does whatever he wants and gon tries his best to measure up. gon is a naturalistic character in that he behaves as comes most comfortably to himself but even that is cajoled and coerced.
i feel like a lot of my life has been lived being the killua inverse to everything you said with all the applicable hangups that entails. i am also 24 years old and i also understand the worldview expected of me will be something i reject and will knowingly hurt the people who molded me. but such is life.
kite hurts gon in chapter one, reminding him he is a powerless child and his death years later confirms his initial assessment and causes gon so much grief, he upends himself trying to rectify it. and even that doesn't work to undo the "damage" of being an ill-equipped child thrust into something beyond his capabilities. and it costs him everything so dearly. and i think about gon’s conversation with kurapika on the airship after the fourth phase of the 287th hunter exam where he feels so utterly defeated by hisoka and weeps to an audience of one about how lost and angry and bitter and distant he feels right before he's declared a hunter and such emotions are all for "naught" and he gets his license despite how little he thinks he deserves it.
there are certain expectations of what i am supposed to be from childhood and i've willfully evaded a lot of them to my credit, i'm sure you did the same though for your own reasons
all this to say i think i get you (as much as a stranger really can) and that i'm glad you wrote this piece. i don't identify with the leaving and certainly not with the charisma but instead with the talent and subsequent stuckness. ging freecss is a funny little bastard but it's its own fun imagining being the kind of person who can up and disappear and be applauded and missed regardless. if arriving is understanding, i reach it all to often for the wrong kinds of people and i'm learning to crave absolute destinations less. for a very long time, i wanted to burn up in a big fire to become the most important person on earth. i'm rethinking this wish more and more. here's to being and potentially growing past being a 12 year old anime boy 🥳🥳
i'm kissing you on the knuckles anon... thank you for reading the essay with such care and equally giving that to such a wonderful message. i think i get you as well. i'm glad we can connect in such a way through this shonen story, lol. "gon is ultimately a doomed child prodigy precisely because doom always befalls a child prodigy" is crazy (/pos). yeah. would just send you back your entire message in quote form but i won't do that- instead know that i agree with your takes very intensely. i think about that airship moment with kurapika a lot! gon's conversations about hisoka with kurapika specifically are so jarring and complex. it's such a turning point for his character.
i find it super interesting that you feel you're the killua inverse of all that. i do think that killua and gon have a lot of their traits mixed up in each other but also develop perpendicularly; feels bad to be either one, though, so i'm sorry for any wounds you have incurred over the years. killua's a study in trauma, too, huh! and being a child and growing old is difficult, who knew, lmao, but he's also a study in love, so there's that, too. thank you for appreciating this piece, as i appreciate you reading it! yes, that arrival to understanding can be given to the wrong people for sure, i know exactly what you mean... as we learn to make mistakes, we learn from those mistakes, too, i suppose... and yeah, being a big fire isn't all it's cracked up to be! i know that we'll become kinder to ourselves. i think growing out of being a 12 year old anime boy is just as inevitable as the other stuff, ha... even hxh agrees with this, i think. i'm sending you love :')

As usual the whole "intigue" about Mimic's inevitable betrayal/discovery gets ruined by the simple fact that it's too obvious a twist. All the way back when the most notable thing Mimic has done was make a not-so-subtle .EXE reference and some were already saying that DC didn't exactly look bright for trusting a guy who looks like literal Satan and who didn't even bother putting a friendlier looking disguise on at least, the only argument the stans could muster is "oh so they were supposed to be suspicious of him just because he looks bad? so presumptuous smh" which would have any ground to stand on if Mimic wasn't actually the traitor. As it is this just reminds me of Dr. Doom from Fantastic Four. Clearly, a guy who looks, almost deliberately acts and is frequently shown to be the most suspicious out of the whole group short of putting a neon sign next to him saying "I'M EVIL" has only the purest of intentions in mind. The good guys simply don't notice it or just refuse to believe it until it's all too late, of course. Gotta give him this though, Duo at least does look friendly and unassuming at first glance (though again the plot simply must show him as the most suspicious immediately because obvious drama), which can be seen by most of the standom's reaction to Duo being simply making memes with his sad uwuboi face and basically replacing Kit as the fandom's current "cute but actually a psycho" blorbo. Clearly he has the audience fooled at least.
I'm personally reminded of '06 and Silver and Blaze not even questioning the mysterious, mouthless, slit-eyed individual who conveniently can point them to an easy solution to their unsolvable issue 😂
Shapeshifters are inherently creepy, but if their base form looks already "evil", and their demeanor suspicious, the creepy factor dies down. It's childish, and even then, assuming that kids read IDW, they deserve better.
Revealing Mimic as Duo was a bad move, I insist. It would have worked much better if the twist was kept until the end - imagine him making a comeback out of nowhere after tricking the audience. Now, instead, we have to wait until Mimic drops the ruse and Lanolin pulls a surprisedpikachuface.jpg

I sincerely think the only MCU character the Russo brothers actually like is Tony, and the rest they either don’t care about or straight-up hate.
A very twisted part of me truly believes their creation of Wanda’s horrible and meaningless sacrifice was their idea of punishing the character for daring to have beef with their fav. I know that’s insane, but so is their deification of billionaire asshole Tony.
Wait, no, they clearly love Thanos as well considering they tried with zero irony to frame him as sympathetic and reasonable.
I won’t be surprised in the least if their Tony-fied Doctor Doom is a mix of the two, and I shudder to think how much more insufferable both the character and his standom will get.
You know what I hate most about Tony getting to kill Thanos??? Is that it directly disrupts Nebula’s story and character arch!!!!
From the first time we meet her in GOTG vol. 1 we know she has an axe to grind with Thanos, and then she states a clear goal to kill him at the end of GOTG vol. 2.
Her motive to kill him is well defined and justified; being mutilated by him throughout all of her life, being forced to fight with her siblings, being verbally, mentally, emotionally, and physically abused by Thanos, being made into his pawn to do his dirty work, and getting revenge for Gamora who was personally murdered by Thanos and wasn’t randomly dust in the snap.
The GOTG movies do a fantastic job of setting up Nebula’s revenge plot, for not just for herself but for Gamora as well, but Endgame has to go and fuck that up as well.
The Russo’s threatment of violently undoing Thor and Steve’s character arch’s we already know about, but how they flagrantly ignore the writing on the wall that Gunn left them for finishing Nebula’s character arch is just bad film making! Plain and simple!
Why does Tony get to kill Thanos??? What literary and thematic merit does that decision have??? I’ll tell you! It doesn’t have any!
Tony is the least qualified character in the entire roster to get to kill Thanos!
He didn’t lose anyone in the snap, not a single soul! He came out on top with Rhodey, Pepper, and Happy all still alive. He spent those five years not helping anyone, but sitting on a lake with his trophy and his kid, relishing in happiness that others lost and couldn’t get back. He didn’t even want to undo the snap! He had to be persuaded into helping! He was happy so why should he have to risk that happiness to bring back trillions???
He knew Thanos for maybe an hour??? He has no personal connection to him or spent enough time with him to warrant giving him the final shot!
If you’re so sexist to let Nebula do it, characters like Thor or even fucking Hawkeye, have more right to kill him than Stark does!
Having a character with literally no ties to the main villain kill him instead of the character who’s entire arch has been about revenge and freeing herself from his pain, is BAD FILM MAKING!!!!
Nebula’s character is defined by the pain and suffering that Thanos inflicted on her. She’s always lived under his fear, his torment, and it would have been a beautiful cap to her arch if she had gotten revenge on the man that stole her free will, her body, and sister.
But instead, we got most privileged character in the entire fucking franchise killing the big bad evil dude that he had no connections to, dying like a martyr and then getting a big bullshit funeral that other more deserving characters didn’t get.
Yes, Steve and Thor were done absolutely fucking dirty by Endgame, but no one in that movie was robbed like Nebula was robbed.

I just don’t get why people care so much about who hangs out with who and how often we see it. It’s ridiculous how bent out of shape all sides of the fandom get when they’re apart or not in Florida, etc. Like who cares a little. People will claim “oh I’m a dteam fan” when they cite why they’re upset, but if at this point people are here only for dteam together content, then they might as well fucking leave. Be happy they are friends (even though people constantly doom that they aren’t even if joking). And just accept the fact that dteam content will be a rare surprise and enjoy it when we get it. And again, if that isn’t for someone, they can leave. When I lost expectations, I’ve enjoyed my time here more. I don’t believe any promise they make, I never expect content, and so when we get some I’m pleasantly surprised. Hopefully we all can reach a better mindset so we can enjoy ourselves more. Sorry for the rant, it’s not really directed at you but at the conversations I’ve been seeing tonight.
i mean i get all of what you're trying to say but this is not how a standom works. dteam is a niche fandom with 90% obsessive stans/groupies. these people (me included, though in the crit niche) run accounts dedicated to dteam. dteam will never be normal once in a while ccs, the day that this happens the fandom will simply be dead for good. because the stan to regular fan pipeline does not exist. when you stop stanning you're either out for good or you're an anti. only a few people manage the stan to regular fan pipeline

Hello! If you don't mind me asking, are you planning on watching House of the Dragon? I'm personally unsure about it. I was cautiously optimistic about it since D&D are not involved, but the recent casting news have been ugh disappointing imo. What do you think?
Hey anon! Sorry to say I kind of mind you asking because my inbox is still closed (to everyone except my secret Santas, which is why the ask page is accessible at all), but then I realized it’s possible if you’re on the mobile app only, you haven’t seen said note in my askbox, or my FAQ, or anything of the sort. And with older metas of mine being reblogged recently, it’s possible you may be confused. (I hope you’re on mobile only and not just ignoring my requests.) So I wanted to inform you of that... but also, y’know, I kind of wanted to make a post about the HotD cast anyway? And this ask is as good a prompt as any... so, you’re lucky, but please don’t push your luck. ;)
So, straight up: I currently have no plans to watch House of the Dragon. HBO is not getting any of my goddamn money, I don’t trust like that. And hunting down illegal livestreaming sites is a pain in the ass and I regret ever doing it for GoT, as well as regretting getting drunk every weekend enough to dampen my senses to ever tolerate that show. Yeah it’s different showrunners and writers, I know. It’s still (mostly) the same executives at HBO and even if the pervert producer is gone (or is he?), you know they still just want to sell sex and violence and dragons to an audience that thinks fantasy is for geeks.
Also, considering that Fire & Blood’s story of Dance of the Dragons has very little actual narrative or dialogue, and the historical record is deliberately untrustworthy, that gives them pretty much full rein to do whatever they like with the story and characterization and words without even being slightly obliged to GRRM at all. Furthermore, since the story is wholly political with virtually none of the magical side of ASOIAF (excepting dragons), and honestly does not have much in the way of themes or depth that main ASOIAF or even D&E has, I think it will be very hard for an adaptation to show even those brief sparks of quality that used to make me wistful GoT couldn’t be that good all the time and eventually just made me frustrated and depressed. Note I do like the history and characters of the Dance despite myself, despite its many many many textual issues, but I don’t need to see an adaptation, I have a very visual imagination. I don’t watch a lot of television to begin with, I don’t see why I should start again with this.
However, I’m not going to avoid spoilers or discussion, and I’ll probably follow the show the tumblr way, through gifsets and video clips and people bitching on their blogs etc. If, somehow, by some miracle of good screenwriting and acting, the show manages to transcend its source material, I’m sure I will be informed. And then, if and only if then, I may try watching. (Without, of course, giving HBO any of my goddamn money.) We shall see.
(Though I certainly don’t know why anyone in Targ standom would ever watch a Dance adaptation considering almost every Targaryen and everyone else in the story is terrible except Helaena and the kids, and considering how the story ends, unless y’all are gluttons for punishment? (I do not comprehend hatewatching, sorry.) It’ll probably be fun at first to see the adventures of those “precious silver douchebags” (to borrow a friend’s tag), but eventually rocks fall, everyone dies, including the girlboss you know you’ll hope the story will be changed enough that she succeeds. Just letting you know now, she won’t.)
That said. I’ve been following the casting news and I think the hate/fear/wild screaming is entirely overblown. Yeah, I know, but wait, just listen. On Friday I officially welcomed @naomimakesart to the “favorite character is now played by an actor who looks nothing like most fanart and is mostly known for wildly different roles” club. I still remember that day in September 2009 when my brother texted me “yarp”... and that right there is the thing. Yeah. Rory McCann looks very little like most pre-GoT Sandor fanart... but many fans grew to love him anyway. (There are some who never did, of course. And yeah the character went off the rails by the end, but truly, who didn’t. Having seen his audition, having spoken to him and heard him wistfully talk about book scenes he loved, I’m convinced if Rory had only been given Sandor’s actual scenes and such, he would’ve killed it. Sigh. Deep, deep sigh.)
And Rory isn’t the only one. Neither of the actors for Jaime and Cersei were considered “beautiful” enough at first. I recall very clearly people bitching about Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (about his nose particularly?) because they had wanted Tarzan-era Travis Fimmel to be Jaime. (Seeing people bitch because current-Fimmel isn’t playing Daemon made me laugh out loud for both BEYONCE?! meme -type “why would you ever cast him omg he doesn’t fit my headcanon Daemon at all”, and amazing amounts of fandom flashbacks.) Lena Headey was “too square-jawed”, “too mean-looking” (since at the beginning you should never be able to guess she’s evil), “too dark-complected”, “too mannish”, not at all attractive enough. (Tricia Helfer was the most common “but I wanted” for Cersei, btw.) And of course “they don’t remotely look like twins, ugh!” Note, there’s receipts for all of this, none of it is made up. (Unfortunately.) Those two actors are just the ones whose casting wank I recall most clearly, particularly because oh how the turn tables.
Also. You know, there’s a post with Matt Smith and Mark Simonetti’s TWOIAF Daemon going around with shrieks of horror... and I’m finding it maddening in a “am I crazy? am I  the crazy one???” way, because Matt looks like the painting. Their features are not that dissimilar.
Tumblr media
Same deepset eyes. Same cheekbones of doom. Same thin lips. Same protruding chin. Same high forehead. Same invsible eyebrows ffs. Matt has a squarer jaw, and a longer more rectangular face, and a wider nose, but considering that Daemon’s features are not described in the text, and this is the only official ASOIAF artwork that shows Daemon’s face straight on, I can for sure see why he was probably shortlisted to begin with. And that’s not even getting into to his role in The Crown, which I’ve heard is very well played with politics and palace intrigue... and if you doubt Smith can play seductive/roguish and/or evil (depending on how you LARP as a Westeros historian), or look good with long hair... well. I do not want to watch the movie, but this trailer is disturbingly enlightening.
And as for Rhaenyra... y’all know this show is starting at the beginning of the story, right? When she’s a teenager? Not a voluptuous MILF? Yeah, Emma D’Arcy doesn’t look like a Magali Villeneueve painting (though who does, good lord), but you know who she does look remarkably like? Harry Lloyd.
Tumblr media
Same jawline. Same nose. Same thin lips. Same sharp cheekbones. Notably, same kind of sharp cheekbones and deep-set eyes as Matt Smith. HBO evidently has a concept of a “Targaryen look” that’s a little bit quirkier than supermodel-Greek statue-gods on earth, yeah, fine. But it’s consistent, and they look like family, and that-- that is good casting.
And yeah, in a few months to a year or so, you’ll see them in costume and wigs and makeup, you’ll see them in motion and speaking lines, and go Oh. That’s different. Never mind. And while people will make fanart of the show depictions of the characters and those will probalby get popular, they’ll also keep doing fanart of their pre-show headcanons, and those too will be popular. (God knows when I draw or visualize book!Sandor, Rory does not come to mind, lol.) Either way, there’s no reason to panic. We’ll live.
(Though will we live well? Got to wait on the writing and showrunning for that, alas.)

It’s pretty scummy to talk about people’s Botox either way. Nikki never takes part in that with Juliet’s work on her face but somehow it’s okay for Lilith Czar fans to do whatever they want? Ever wonder why your fan base isn’t growing? Why there aren’t more dedicated fan accounts besides your duplicates? You are hypocrites and no one likes to deal with any of you. You doomed your own standom. Hahahahaha.

What If…? Episode 8 Review: A Very Ultron Apocalypse
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This article contains spoilers for Marvel’s What If…? episode 8.
Episode 8 of Marvel’s What If…?, entitled ‘What if… Ultron Won?’, housed some of the best animated sequences of the series so far. We’ve seen some great stuff from the show’s animation team to date, but they really had a chance to flaunt some incredible visuals in this one by keeping the central story fairly simple and the cast of characters small.
Here, we got to find out what would have happened if Ultron had snagged the vibranium body he had made for him in Avengers: Age of Ultron instead of losing it to the creation of Vision, and it turns out that the Avengers saved more than this world when they successfully completed that mission back in the day.
Now, if you’re a regular here and often read our weekly What If…? reviews, you may already know that they have a bit of a unique format – more of a breakdown that we hope will satisfy die-hard Marvel fans but still help bring those less familiar with the MCU up to speed.
With that in mind, it’s time to dig deeper into ‘What if… Ultron Won?’
Required viewing
It definitely helps to have seen Avengers: Age of Ultron since that’s the backstory you need for this episode, but there are callbacks to Black Widow, Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, too.
Voice cast
Jeffrey Wright is our Watcher, Jeremy Renner is Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Lake Bell is Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Toby Jones is Arnim Zola, Benedict Cumberbatch is Doctor Strange, Josh Keaton is Steve Rogers, Mick Wingert is Tony Stark/Iron Man, and Alexandra Daniels is Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel.
Ross Marquand, who previously voiced Red Skull in both What If…?, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame, takes over from James Spader as Ultron.
What’s different
In an apocalyptic wasteland that used to be Moscow, Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff search for a way to finally defeat Ultron in a world where he successfully implanted himself in Vision’s vibranium body during the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, and stuck to his deadly plan to wipe out humanity.
Ultron eventually gets the nuclear codes and launches the world’s nukes during a sequence that once again kills Kenny Tony Stark. Dispatching Thanos with unbelievable ease upon his arrival, Ultron then takes the rest of the Infinity Stones for himself and lays waste to the rest of the universe.
Sakaar, Ego and more are destroyed, and although Captain Marvel takes a pretty good crack at ending Ultron’s diabolical purge, she also fails to get the job done. With his mission complete, Ultron is at a loss until he becomes aware of The Watcher, and realizes that there are still countless universes waiting to be wrecked.
Back on Earth, Clint and Natasha are hunting through the KGB archives. The Watcher almost intervenes when it seems like the duo won’t find what they’re looking for, but Natasha eventually grabs a box containing a file with the location of the last known copy of Arnim Zola’s data-banked brain, as previously seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Zola agrees to help them under pressure, and Clint uses an arrow to upload Zola into an Ultron sentry. Unfortunately, Zola’s not able to reach the hive mind and save the day because Ultron’s off world having a spectacularly-animated multiversal punch-up with The Watcher, and so Clint has to sacrifice himself to save Natasha in an almost exact reversal of their goodbye sequence in Avengers: Endgame.
As Ultron faces off against The Watcher in an eye-popping, multiverse-breaking scene, we get a chance to see a Galactus-esque version of Ultron, an Earth populated by Skrulls, and a version of the world where Steve Rogers is being sworn in as President of the United States.
This isn’t just a fun Easter egg for fans: What If…? writer A. C. Bradley repeatedly pitched an episode of the series that would adapt the Marvel Comics story “What If Captain America Had Been Elected President?” by Mike W. Barr and Herb Trimpe, and envisioned the installment paying homage to The West Wing. Sadly, that idea didn’t fly, but we have this fun moment in the episode to console ourselves with.
How does it work out?
In the end, Ultron gets so close to eliminating The Watcher that he’s at a loss and begrudgingly consults with Strange Supreme, who we haven’t seen since he broke his own world and got a Watcher scolding at the end of episode 4. It looks like Stephen might have what it takes to finally resolve the Ultron situation, but we shall have to wait and see.
The Watcher’s reluctance to intervene, given his oath, does seem to be buttering us up for November’s live action MCU entry, Eternals. Ahead of the movie’s release, many Marvel fans have wondered why the hell those ten immortal, superpowered beings didn’t step up to help humanity throughout its many apocalyptic woes, and The Watcher is shaping up to be a prime example of why standing idly by while atrocities play out won’t ever truly cut the mustard with those involved in said atrocities, or indeed us – the Watchers watching The Watcher watch.
Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see the team-up between The Watcher and Strange Supreme in next week’s finale.
Standout moments
I’ve touched on a few standout moments above, but seeing Ultron in near-Galactus form was a sight to behold, and I know I’m not the only one who felt that way because Galactus was soon trending on Twitter after the episode started streaming.
It feels like Marvel are pondering which classic comics villains to introduce next, and that we’re tantalizingly close to seeing Doctor Doom, Galactus, The Beyonder and more join Kang as multiversal threats. But every time we start speculating about the likes of Mephisto in WandaVision or Doom in Loki, Marvel unwittingly kicks the can down the road again. We’re just gonna have to calm the hell down!
Seeing Natasha fight with Red Guardian’s shield was truly a joyful experience, as was seeing Thanos sliced neatly down the middle by Ultron – perfectly balanced, as all things should be! I know Vision was injured in Avengers: Infinity War, but would it have been that easy to kill Thanos if he hadn’t been? Come on.
Sorry, but Tony Stark dying over and over again is just plain funny now. I think there was supposed to be an episode where he lived in this season, but it maybe got moved to Season 2? The result is that he has absolutely become the Kenny of What If…? and honestly if they don’t somehow kill him again in the finale it will be a bit of a let down for me.
There were several moments in this episode where I was genuinely bowled over by the animation work on display. I know I’ve talked about it before, but this animation style doesn’t always work for me, and I do still think there were more visually creative ways to approach this series. However, the style has definitely been a good match for a couple of installments, and this was one of them.
See you next week! Same Watcher time! Same Watcher streaming service! I’d also like to point out for the audience that a network only ever competes against itself for ratings. Otherwise many many more networks will be “failing”.
So all a show like Supergirl has to do, which is a steady performer, is perform at or above *network average*. They put Supergirl in the flasgship spot of supporting A WHOLE NEW TIMESLOT for the channel because it has been the most steady performer *all season*.
No one puts a show they are going to cancel/was nearly canceled to premiere on a new timeslot for the entire network. You only out shows you expect to be successful in them.
Like you know, Supergirl. Which is very successful no matter what people seem to believe.
Supergirl being moved to Sundays is a bad decision is it not? It's a death slot isn't it? I am dying here
Uh. Westworld and Fear the Walking Dead are currently airing on Sunday nights. Game of Thrones airs on Sunday nights. High-profile dramas like Madam Secretary air on Sunday nights.
(Also, dead spots actually vary by network!)
CW has never had any weekend broadcasting slots before, so they’re going to pick relatively strong performers to break into that market. Note also that they’re pairing Supergirl with a reboot of a popular old show that’s equally female- (and sister!) centric. A lot of what determines their lineup is matching the 8pm show with a 9pm show that has a similar audience, because the goal is to retain viewers for the whole two hours. CW also always puts the stronger show in the first hour.
I have to ask: do people get this stressed out about The Flash? Because they’ve had a worse season than Supergirl did last year in terms of losing their audience, and yet there’s still all kinds of bullshit rumors floating around that Supergirl is somehow failing even though it’s fine.

An additional regularly scheduled reminder, some of us like the boys on the show. Please stop speaking for me and telling me, or anyone else, what we do/should like.
William is one of the boys I like.
So is James.

This is just a reminder that unless you watch a show by legal means, have a Nelson’s box and live in the US, boycotting a US TV show will have zero affect on its ratings.
But go off I guess.

Yeah there is a lot of information going around thats sole source is a paparazzi guy who regularly stalks cast at the airport, their home, and pretends he knows personal information. He’s pretty gross.
It’s more believable that the government faked the moon landing than the “information” he has imparted.
Additionally there’s a bit of misinformation here. Kreisberg was not the showrunner of Supergirl; Queller and Rovner are the showrunners and have been all year. Kreisberg was the personal Exec to the show - he was to The Flash too. He was the man between the production and the studio... there is zero evidence that they canned any scripts because of his input, that’s a frankly laughable prospect. And costly. A little common sense would also have you questioning why Flash isn’t suffering too...
As for the idea that Supergirl is somehow special for writing and filming additional content... yeah they aren’t. It is standard production practice. It’s needed for editing and moulding purposes. It will always happen in every show and movie you will ever watch.
they said that kreisberg was one of the main sg writers, so the writers need time to regroup and sort that shit out

A quick FYI on conventions, if a guest cancels they are not paid. Do not believe the money hungry paparazzi/autograph hounds who are upset that they aren’t getting what they want from an actor.
Do not feed them attention or give them money to feed themselves either.
The reason actors cancel close to the event is because there are attempts to get them to attend. You know how sometimes you have to juggle work meetings, or social events, and you try till the last minute and realise something has gotta give?
This is why a “professional commitments pending” clause. Otherwise actors would never book an event.
You’re also not entitled to see them at one, and they are not obligated to attend
If anyone thinks Melissa is the most canceled guest in the world I know you’ve only attended or know about few conventions

This is your regularly scheduled reminder that not everyone watches a show for shipping.
It’s not personal if the ship you have created and enjoyed isn’t canon.
It’s also not personal is one part of a canon ship decides to leave a show. Kidnapping is still illegal, as is slave labour.
