Repost from @rebeccacorry • Today the @standupforpitsfoundation bought two heavy duty long lasting pools for the precious dogs at the @northcentralshelter in Los Angeles. It’s extremely hot and when the pups get out we want them to have the opportunity to play in the water and enjoy themselves. They deserve that and so much more. These particular pools are quite costly but they are built to last, which is what’s needed. We bought two so they would not be without moving forward. Thank you to everyone who supports the @standupforpitsfoundation. When you buy a t-shirt, come to a Stand Up For Pits events or donate any amount, you are helping and saving dogs in all the ways SUFP does that nationwide. Most shelters need supplies and enrichment items, especially the rural ones with little to no resources. Many shelters also have Amazon Wish lists you can donate directly towards. It’s as simple as reaching out to the facility and asking what’s needed if they don’t have a wish list. Providing a shelter dog with a bully stick, toys, a bed, a Kong and treats means everything to them. We all have the ability to make an impact on these beautiful lives. If your on FB, watch out for this group, they have attacked me for posting a thing where a man's pitt was attacked and killed while he was not home, they called me immature, and something were left out as they got super nasty with me.

Reminder: Dogs are not born to be mean, or vicious, it is how they are raised and treated that makes them out to be that way, if anything, it should be humans that should be written off as a menace.

He comes out of his kennel SO proud to show you all his toys and can't wait to eat snacks with you in your lap. He wants to sit right by you (or on top of you) and get his daily massages and tell you all the things that have happened in his kennel since he last saw you. It's truly his favorite part of the day. Thurman currently shares his room (separate kennels) with his best buddy and fellow survivor from #thegreat108, Clarence. We like to think that when we tuck them in for the night, they stay up late playing on their Nindendo Switches and trading baseball cards. If you see something PLEASE do something and do it FAST. It only takes minutes for dogs to die in a hot car. You can buy glass breaking hammers on @amazon as well as collapsable water bowls, catch poles, gloves...anything you’d need and very affordable. Put it in your car and they also have key chain glass breakers. They are small and easy. Swipe left to see the 10 hammers we ordered a few days ago and will be handing out to some good humans locally. Totally affordable and can save a life. We can’t expect people will stop killing their dogs this way BUT we can sure as hell raise awareness and make it known it won’t be tolerated. #hotcarskilldogs #standupforpits #takeaction #educate

It needs to be managed and watched but it should not be a death sentence. She is in Florida. Please share even if you’re not in the area. THIS IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF WHY SPAYING AND NEUTERING IS VITAL AND IMPORTANT. #standupforpits #adoptmichaela Michaela was brought in as a stray from animal control. She is about 8 years old, weighs about 73 pounds, is heartworm negative and has been a total sweetheart for staff since she arrived. Michaela was examined and at least 7 masses were identified on her body. X-rays were taken and there are no obvious signs of metastasis. She was spayed on 7/21 and aspirations were performed on all of her masses. 5 yielded some results, 3 of those masses were confirmed Mast Cell Tumors and the others are still suspected to be Mast Cell Tumors but could not be confirmed. A full left chain mastectomy is recommended for at least palliative care. The larger inguinal mass may not be completely removed with mastectomy and may require additional surgery. Michaela should be given 3-4 weeks to heal from spay prior to mastectomy. Ideally, histopathology should be performed of all mammary masses. Michaela may be in need of a place to live out her remaining days peacefully. If you are interested in helping precious Michaela, please let us know by 5pm 7/27.
