Listen, I know I'm years behind on watching this and so I'm probably not the first to say this. But.

Ezra asking the holicrons for "the key to defeating the sith" should not have pointed him toward Obi Wan. It should have revealed to him that the key is Anakin Skywalker. Because Anakin is the chosen one and the key to bringing balance to the force. Obi Wan is not the chosen the one. Obi Wan does not defeat the sith.

Now. I know why they didn't do that (I think). Because they want them to go talk to Obi Wan and because they don't want Kanan and Ezra to know who Vader is (I assume). All that. But. What you can do is, have the vision indicate to Ezra that Anakin is the key. This produces confusion. Could Anakin be alive? Where is he? Why is he the key? So they go looking for Anakin. And where would be a good place to start looking for Anakin Skywalker? Maybe his home planet. Tatooine. If you need to delay have them take some time to figure out where Anakin is from. But then they go to Tatooine and they don't find Anakin, they find Obi Wan.

From there they can do whatever is that actually happens in the show. And you can have them learn as much or as little as they want. maybe they just end up confused as to why the vision told them Anakin. Maybe they conclude that it was just a clue to point them to Tatooine. Maybe they learn who Luke is and conclude that Anakin was the key because his son is still alive and is going to stop the sith. Whatever you want. But they should have been told Anakin.

Star Wars Rebels: Visions and Voices (3x11)

Summary: Ezra and Maul do some Nightsister magic on Dathomir. 

Comments: The episode begins with Ezra having a “something is clearly wrong but just gonna say it’s ‘okay’” moment, ala Star Trek style. Go to Sick Bay! 

Also, Ezra appears to still be keeping the holocrons in his room? That’s okay with Kanan? (Edit: I guess they’re both broken.)

Still not going to Sick Bay and passing off his sudden psychosis as “no big deal,” Ezra has an episode and almost kills a red shirt. 

I worry about the security at Chopper Base if Maul can just fly up and park at Bendu’s lair. But this treatment of Maul is, at least, more interesting than any previous incarnation of his “character.” He’s almost trustworthy and shares a common enemy in the Empire, and seems to have his own motivations, although they are still unclear to me. 

Ah, but then we gotta do more TCW 2.0 and return to Dathomir of all places. And then, LOL, that stupid painting of Sabine shows up (Dan’s gonna love it!), but, uh... why would Maul have that? In TCW he killed Satine in front of Prequel!Wan because—having read the script and due to horrible writing—he knew it would hurt him. But, to his character, she was just the previous leader of a planet he controlled. Does he regret the murder? Why? 

Also, Darksaber shows up, and I was honestly wondering if the show was going to address this object, because it shows up later in The Mandalorian and the last I saw it, Maul was using it to murder Satine. So we have one more dot on the line from Vizsla to Moff Gideon.

So... Ezra is surprised “someone” is still alive and Maul knows it “begins/ends” on Tatooine... so (1) I’m assuming their answers got swapped and (2) in this canon, the sequel trilogy never happens. As far as Rebels is concerned, Luke ending Vader is the “end of the Sith” (not Rey using crappy dialogue to murder a resurrected Creamy Sheev). 

Ezra leans that Obi-wan Kenobi is the key to stopping the Sith, but he says he recognizes him, but... how? Has Ezra seen Kenobi before? Also, I didn’t realize it before, but maybe Maul is interested in Kenobi being alive? And still wants revenge? (I honestly have no idea). 

Darksaber gets picked up by Sabine, then Ezra retrieves it and uses it to destroy the Nightsister altar then just drops in on the ground where Sabine picks it up again. 

In conclusion, Sabine has the Darksaber and we have further confirmation that the Nightsisters are all dead.
