Starladder Starseries Season 3 : Grand Finals

Liquid keluar sebagai juara pada laga final Starladder Starseries Season 3 yang diselenggarakan di Shanghai, China. Mereka menghadapi tim asal China yang menjadi favorit bagi penonton tuan rumah, Vici Gaming J. Dalam seri 4 game yang diawali dengan kekalahan Liquid mampu menunjukkan mental juara mereka dengan membalikkan keadaan.

Game 1

VG.J mengawali seri dengan draft dengan Lifestealer yang dilengkapi dengan kombo bersama Centaur Warruner. Game ini juga memperlihatkan bagaimana memperlihatkan bagaimana menakutkannya fy dengan Rubick.

Terlihat dari early game yang memberikan tekanan pada Miracle- di Midlane, rotasi Rubick yang sangat sering cukup menyulitkan farming dari Miracle- dengan Outworld Devourer. Dan juga beberapa spell steal krusial yang dilakukan.

Meskipun MinD_ContRoL mendapatkan laning stage yang sangat baik di early game dengan bantuan Gh. Hal itu terbukti tidak cukup karena Liquid terlihat tidak mampu memenangkan teamfight. Bounty Hunter dari Fenrir juga memberikan keuntungan vision dan juga banyaknya “track-kill” yang terjadi membuat networth advantage dari VG.J semakin jauh.

Setelah menghancurkan 2 set barak di top lane dan midlane, VG.J melakukan serangan High Ground di bottom lane guna memastikan Mega Creep. Defense yang gagal dari Liquid dan juga die back dari Miracle- akhirnya mengakhiri game pertama dengan kemenangan VG.J pada menit 53.

Game 2

Pada game ke 2, VG.J melakukan draft yang menekankan pada kombo Lifestealer dengan Slardar yang dijawab dengan sangat baik oleh Liquid. Liquid membalas draft dari VG.J melalui counter-initiation yang kuat menggunakan Warlock dan Enigma. Dan memanfaatkan Invoker pada Miracle- yang tidak diban oleh VG.J sehingga Liquid memiliki kemampuan melakukan Teamfight yang sangat kuat.

Terlihat beberapa usaha yang dilakukan VG.J dalam melakukan inisiasi teamfight berhasil dipatahkan dengan Stampede dari MinD_ContRoL dan juga Chaotic Offering dari Gh. Late game terlihat sekali bahwa VG.J takut untuk memulai teamfight karena adanya ancaman Black Hole dari Enigma yang dimainkan oleh KuroKy.

Kemenangan Liquid dipastikan setelah usaha melakukan serangan High Ground memaksa Agressif melakukan buyback. Pada menit 23, Black hole dari KuroKy berhasil memastikan dieback dari Agressif. Tidak mampu menahan serangan dari Team Liquid akhirnya “gg” pun terjadi pada menit 24. 

Pada early hingga midgame terlihat jelas keunggulan teamfight yang dimiliki oleh VG.J. Berkali-kali terjadi teamfight yang sangat baik dari segi VG.J dengan combo Warlock, Magnus dan juga Sand King. rOtk berkali-kali melakukan 3 man RP pada Liquid yang diikuti dengan Epicenter dari fy.

Namun Liquid akhirnya memutuskan bahwa mereka tidak akan memenangkan game tersebut melalui teamfight. Pada menit 28 Liquid memutuskan untuk melakukan split-push dengan memanfaatkan Io dan Morphling. Manuver yang sangat indah dari Relocate dan juga Replicate oleh Gh dan MATUMBAMAN memaksa VG.J untuk memutuskan antara menghentikan Roshan yang dilakukan oleh Miracle- dan MinD_ContRoL atau melakukan defense pada Bottom Lane yang diserang oleh MATUMBAMAN dan Gh. Manuver Relocate dan Replicate membuat seakan-akan Morphling dan Io berada di 2 tempat sekaligus dan mampu mendapatkan Roshan sekaligus 2 Barak pada Bottom Lane.

Split-push terus dilakukan hingga akhir pertandingan di mana MATUMBAMAN dan Gh menjadi pengalih perhatian yang membuat MinD_ContRoL dapat menghancurkan tower 4 dari VG.J. Pada usaha High Ground terakhir dari VG.J, buyback dari MATUMBAMAN dan MinD_ContRoL terjadi. MinD_ContRoL melakukan split-push, sedangkan MATUMBAMAN menjadi pengalih perhatian.Buyback dari MATUMBAMAN memaksa VG.J untuk melakukan teamfight, dan memastikan split-push Liquid berhasil mengakhiri pertandingan dengan 48 menit. Skor berbalik 2-1 untuk Team Liquid.

Team Liquid melakukan draft yang sangat unik dengan menempatkan Anti-mage di Midlane oleh Miracle-. Mid Anti-mage terbukti sangat efektif dalam menekan Storm Spirit dari Freeze. Dengan bantuan Gh, Miracle- memastikan early game yang sangat baik dengan mendapatkan Killing Spree sebelum menit 10. 

Tekanan dari rotasi yang dilakukan Team Liquid dari early game menyebabkan Team Liquid memiliki keunggulan yang besar. Anti-mage menjadi tidak terhentikan di Late game yang akhirnya berhasil mengakhiri pertandingan pada menit 37. Kemenangan ini memastikan Liquid sebagai juara dari Starladder Starseries Season 3 dan juga menjawab keraguan yang ada pada squad dengan total mmr lebih dari 27k ini.

THE CHONGQING MAJOR – THE DRAGON TROPHY

During The Chongqing Major, StarLadder, the organizers behind this massive Dota 2 tournament, approached us with a task to create the trophy for the tournament, featuring a Chinese Dragon. This was a pretty important task as, without a trophy, there wouldn't be a tournament to start with.

With the task set in motion, we got to work. We hired a brilliant sculptor by the name of Liubomyr, who turned a yellow shapeless mass of plasticine into a rough silhouette of the Dragon that was set to headline the trophy.

From there, the team began with the detailing; they added the scales, which on paper sounds pretty easy but trust us, it's no easy task. There are nearly a thousand tiny scales that have to be manually carved and later glued in one after the other to the torso to give it that ultra-realistic look.  

With the model of the Dragon and the scales added, it was now time for the base as every tournament trophy requires one. A wooden frame was made, which was later covered with plastic to allow for it to be decorated with artwork, in this case, fire and flames. Once done, the Dragon was placed on top, and a trophy for The Chongqing Major had a rough shape.

But the Dragon wasn't enough; the trophy needed something more. So, a Dota 2 symbol was made. We 3D printed a mold of the symbol and then cast it from plastic a few times until the results became perfect. After that, a craftsman worked on the "live fire." This was done by adding in several layers of epoxy, manually creating a bright, life-like shine for the fire. Furthermore, to strengthen the effect of the fire, LED lights were added to highlight the flames.

With all of the physical work done to the body of the trophy, it was now time for the painter to get to work, whose sole task was to bring the Dragon to life. Make it feel "alive." And from what we saw at the tournament, the painter did just that. Plus, we used a special painting technique, which created what is known as the "Mona Lisa Effect." So, regardless of where you look at the trophy from, it always seems as if the Dragon is looking straight at you.

With the base, the Dragon, the symbol, and the paint job done, you might think that the job was over. But no, our craftsmen are perfectionists, and hence, for the next 48 hours, the team worked on polishing all of the flaws and bumps. It is because of this dedication; we feel we are the best in the business.

Once all of it was done, the trophy underwent a short photo session and was later packed and sent to Chongqing, where after a few days, we would see Team Secret lift the trophy into the air for everyone to see.

This magical clutch master took part in ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017 and placed 1st by dominating the tournament.

In the 7th season of ESL Pro League, Xyp9x again placed first by a ratio of 3:1 and took 1st place in season 8.

In 2018, Xyp9x took part in 6 tournaments and in 2019-2020 he played in 3 tournaments, taking first in all of them.

In 2018, he earned around $2 million dollars from 6 different tournaments. And again in 2019 and 2020, he earned around $1.35 million dollars.

From the earning perspective, Xyp9x is the most successful CS:GO player of all time.

In 2020, his net worth is around $1,771,621 dollars. His team earned $500,000 dollars from the ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017.

He Won the most Majors tied with his teammates dev1ce, dupreeh and gla1ve, with four; ELEAGUE Atlanta 2017, FACEIT London 2018, IEM Katowice 2019, and StarLadder Berlin 2019.

He Is one of 6 players to attend all Majors.
