I just had a dream about CS:GO (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, a game I don’t play) where I was on a large metal building with my team which was 10x larger then normal and then everybody stopped fighting and walked out into the middle of the map to watch a river that had formed due to the map melting because it was a cake. I thought this was boring so I left to go play Elden Ring (another game I don’t play) which was about an orc girl with 2 swords connected via chain and Star-Lord.
I had a dream where I got an email stating I was now in a contract for the next 5 years to play profressional level CS:GO for a new team and this was their fucking logo
I think the main thing I like about Counter Strike compared to Valorant is how much versatility is ingrained in the mechanics. Like in Valorant, only a few characters have flashbang abilities, and they require lengthy equip and recover animations. It's really hard to get value out of them by yourself, so most games you end up following your duelist around and flashing when they ask.
But in Counter Strike, everyone can use flashbangs, and the timing is more generous, so you can get value as a solo player. But the really cool part is that the other playstyle, where you just follow a teammate around and flash for them, is still a valid and effective strategy. You can contribute to your team even if you aren't good at winning engagements.
And since all utility is available to every player, you can switch your playstyle up on a round-by-round basis. Emergent gameplay and inventing new strategies is such a core part of Counter Strike, and Valorant just doesn't have that same mechanical depth.
Thanks to my brother for getting me hooked on this game)
Of course, I often lose in CS: GO online, but I think I will improve my skill in the game! Sometimes my laptop gives out low fps, which makes it unrealistic to play! However, although I'm not a great player, I'm a good artist)
