They’re EVERYWHERE in most popular animation — from Cartoon Network Studios, Disney Television Animation, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Nickelodeon, The Simpsons and Warner Bros. Animation to Don Bluth, Big Idea, Pixar, and more!

Spumco loyalists at the time not pictured are Mike Fontanelli, Brent Kirnbauer, Stacy Nichols, and April March (AKA Elinor Blake).
Tweet version in reply to Vincent Waller here.
This post was meant to wish a Happy Birthday to the highly controversial, formally abusive megalomaniac but also animation legend, founder and big-shot of Spümcø, Michael John Kricfalusi, with extreme favor of his ground-breaking team of creatives, including the late and great Chris Reccardi.
Despite our controversial creator’s past behavior and the abuse he did, as his teammates — his creatives — his alums went on to be part of many cartoons that we enjoy. God knows what would be of them if it were not for their work at Spümcø/John K. Enterprises/etc.
I created this list on September 9th, 2019 A.D. (John K.’s birthday) to list the creatives who are behind some of the most popular of “Western” animation (mostly native to Burbank or Canada).

| 17 Celebrities from New Milford, Bergen County, NJ |
| By Sean Michael |
New Milford, New Jersey just seems like another regular American town that most people in the USA have never heard of, with a small population of 16,000 people. But there seems to be some magic in the air.
After consistently hearing about success stories of people coming out of New Milford, New Jersey, I did some research and was surprised to learn that there actually is a vast amount of talent who have gone on to do major things in the world coming out of this one small town. From Emmys to Oscars and Grammys. And from Broadway to the NFL to reality shows. I’m not sure what it is, but New Milford keeps churning out superstars that are changing the world. And it's time we recognize them. The following individuals are official inductees into the New Milford Hall of Fame. Thank you for your gifts and contributions to the world. You’re making us North Jerseyans proud!
Jack Antonoff - guitarist for the band FUN. He even wrote a song with Taylor Swift and Lorde. Antonoff has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award and won four Grammy Awards. He also started his own music festival, Shadow of The City, which takes place annually in New Jersey.
Redman: Grammy-nominated hiphop artist Redman owned a home in New Milford, NJ. Redman has released an album with Method Man and acted in the movie "How High". He had his best-known international hit with Christina Aguilera, when he was featured on her 2002 single "Dirrty". Around this time he was also featured on a popular remix of Pink's track “Get This Party Started”. He is cited in the song 'Till I Collapse as rapper Eminem's favorite rapper.
Sevan Apollo Poetry: Two-time reality show star featured on MTV’s True Life & ABC’s Glass House. Apollo has given 3 TEDx talks, broke a Guinness World Record, wrote a #1 Amazon Best-Selling book, organized the March for our Lives event in Oakland, and has interviewed dozens of celebrities like Jaden Smith, Willow Smith, Russell Simmons, Lady Gaga, Charles Manson, and more. Apollo has facilitated empathy trainings for the U.S. Department of State, with a workshop that was featured on the Oprah Winfrey show. He is also the recipient of the United States Presidential “Point of LIght” Award.
Rob McClure: McClure played the title role in the musical Chaplin. After the show made it to Broadway, he was nominated for the 2013 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. Rob also appeared in Shrek the Musical, Grease, Mary Poppins, The Addams Family, Beetlejuice the Musical, and Mrs. Doubtfire. Rob is one of New Milford’s big breakthrough stars.
Ed Marinaro: Famous for his role on Hill Street Blues as well as turns on Laverne & Shirley and Sisters. Prior to his acting career, Marinaro was a standout football star for the Knights, playing for New Milford High School before going off to play for Cornell where he was runner up for the Heismann Trophy and was the first running back in the NCAA to rush for more than 4,000 yards. Marinaro played six seasons in the NFL, going to the Super Bowl twice.
Simon J.J. Racaza: Recent star of the reality series Top Shot on the History Channel, he finished just out of the top spot in the first season. This world class shooter is leading the U.S. team to the World Shooting Championships this year as the number one qualifier. When not competing, Racaza runs the firearms program for the Department of Homeland Security.
Jim Dray: An NFL tight end who played for the Arizona Cardinals and Cleveland Browns
Beth Fowler: She's been nominated for two Tony Awards and a Drama Desk Award. In addition to the stage, Fowler also has screen credits appearing in both film and television. Past credits include Sister Act and Law & Order.
Tori “Stori” Diaz: A model, rapper, and singer who signed to Universal Motown and was featured on the Tyra Banks show.
Bobby Steele: This punk guitarist is a borough native and was a member of the legendary band The Misfits. He is currently with The Undead, the band he has lead for more than three decades.
J. Walter Christie: You may not know his name, but you certainly know his invention--the modern tank.
The Fontane Sisters: Are 3 sisters that had 18 songs reaching the Billboard pop charts, including ten in the Top 40. Their late 1954 recording, "Hearts of Stone", sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc. The sisters worked with NBC and Perry Como.
Joe Regalbuto: is known for his role as Frank Fontana on the CBS television sitcom Murphy Brown, which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 1989. He also acted in Mork & Mindy, Magnum PI, The Golden Girls, Alley McBeal, and Criminal Minds.
Jim McQueeny: Founder of Winning Strategies and an award-winning journalist who shared the Pulitzer Prize for his work with the Star Ledger.
Steve Stephen Savino: Featured on Travel Channel’s Toy Hunter.
Gennady Borukhovich: Gennady is the Co-Founder and CTO of FarFaria. He has built the company to a multi-million dollar organization with over a 100 employees. He also went viral when his Vogue Kanyne/Kim parody photo announcing their child went viral.
Stephen Lin: Starting off as an intern for SNL, Stephen went on to build a buzz as a comedian and actor by being featured in The Cobbler and Mr. Robot. He acted alongside Rami Malek, who played Freddie Mercury in the movie Queen.

SpongeBob no more
Just months ago, Stephen Hillenburg & Chris Reccardi passed way. This year or next year, Nickelodeon Animation Studios owned by Viacom International will never make more SpongeBob episodes after the proposed series finale. Although future SpongeBob episodes between this year & next year will dedicate in memory of them. Meanwhile, I’ll work at Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank, California this summer after I write 22 episode scripts of Dexter’s Laboratory Season 5 for early next year here in Limay, Bataan. There, I’ll develop a Saturday-morning cartoon based on Friends by Marta Kauffman & David Crane & a Cartoon Network crossover show with Dexter’s sister Dee Dee with the art style inspired by Genndy Tartakovsky & Chris Savino. SpongeBob forever.

AIRBNB
(Stephen Burgen, 2017)
(Gaby Hinsliff, 2018)

What think I of Paul Rudish’s envision Mickey Mouse? Think Spümcø.
Like many Cartoon Network/Hanna-Barbera creatives, Paul Rudish (Star Wars: Clone Wars, Samurai Jack, Sym-Bionic Titan, The Powerpuff Girls Movie) and many members on his team went to Disney Television Animation and turned Mickey Mouse into a hilariously rapid-paced cartoon, with the animation of Mercury Filmworks (Star vs. the Forces of Evil, Wander over Yonder) and many great design talents, including Shakeh Hagnazarian. The sound design by Supervising Sound Editor Robert Poole II at Advantage Audio is also different from his usual styles (The Fairly OddParents, Phineas and Ferb), using plenty of Disney, WB & H-B SFX that the typical Advantage sound designers (Poole II, Heather Olsen, Michael Warner, Robert Duran and Paca Thomas) tend not to use. I wish that Poole II (or someone else at Advantage) did that with SvTFOE Season 1.
In aural terms, I prefer the sound design of Warner Bros. Sound/Audio Circus (Otis Van Osten, Michael Gollom, Bill Keane M.P.S.E.) on Mickey Mouse Works/House of Mouse, with which I grew up), and I like the stylized score on Mickey Mouse Works too, which I kind of miss (with all of Disney TVA’s new shows, I think that a House of Mouse reboot could be in order), but Poole II’s sound design and Christopher Willis’ score prove to be very good.
Here’re those Spümcø creatives who turned this Disney icon into something insanely wacky:
The Late and Great Chris Reccardi (Location Design on “Croissant de Triophe”)
Bill Wray ([Additional] Background Paint on “Springtime” and “The Scariest Story Ever: A Mickey Mouse Halloween Spooktacular!”)
@stephendestefano (Character Design, Seasons 1-4)
@rdaskas (Background Paint on “Ghoul Friend”)
Chris Savino (Directed by/Written by/Storyboard by, “Bad Ear Day”)
Mark Ackland (Written by/Storyboard by)
Riccardo Durante (Written by/Storyboard by)
Also regarding Spümcø, Ren Höek is dressed up in Mickey Mouse fashion in The Ren & Stimpy Show episode “The Boy Who Cried Rat!”, directed by Vincent Waller, and “Ren Seeks Help”, co-directed by Waller as well.
Many of the Spümcø team, as with many “Western” animation projects by popular studios, also contributed their talent to another reboot of a classic cartoon character, The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat. They even went on to be a part of Disney Television Animation (i,e. Bob Camp storyboarded on Suburban Daredevil)!

SpongeBob no more
3 months ago, SpongeBob SquarePants creator Stephen Hillenburg passed away. This year or next year, Nickelodeon Animation Studios owned by Viacom International will never make more SpongeBob episodes after the proposed series finale. Although future SpongeBob episodes between this year & next year will dedicate in memory of him. Meanwhile, I’ll work at Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank, California this spring after I write 22 episode scripts of Dexter’s Laboratory Season 5 for early next year here in Limay, Bataan.

So, last night, Cartoon Brew broke a story about Nickelodeon suspending long time cartoonist and creator of The Loud House for sexual harassment against women.
Many have posted their thoughts so I thought I’d go ahead and say mine.
I got into The Loud House during season 2 (relatively recently). I enjoy the show greatly and consider it one of my top favorite modern animated shows.
So, I understand the initial reaction of “this can’t be true” from the fanbase when it first broke out a little under 24 hours ago. The Loud House is quite progressive in having individual strong female characters and was groundbreaking by having a confirmed canon homosexual couple; along with continuing the growth of bisexual characters in the case of Luna in children’s media. With this streak of progression it feels like a sense of betrayal that its creator would be doing this behind the scenes.
Which brings me to the point of: Being a fan of the Loud House does not mean we condone the (alleged) actions of Chris Savino.
I also want to bring up that while I’m a firm believer in “innocent until proven guilty”, I also wanted to look into as much information that is out right now, and I just can’t see this looking well for Savino.
A dozen women, spanning a decade of time have come forward. One of whom, Anne Walker Farrell kind of shaded about this back in August and confirmed Savino as one in question in a tweet today.
I feel that Nickelodeon wouldn’t just throw a creator of their second highest rated show out based on accusations and face this kind of publicity. It would’ve been easier to throw under the rug and silence it (if that’s what they’ve been doing for 10 years, shame on them). I feel that it’s much more likely that they do have evidence of wrongdoing.
There’s plenty of other successful men in the animation industroy not accused of sexual harassment (by God, I hope it stays that way). Butch Hartman, JG Quintel, Alex Hirsch, Stephen Hillenburg, Craig McCracken are just some of the men who are/were as successful in the animation industry as Savino. They’re not the ones being accused of sexual harassment. Savino is. So the ludicrous “just a bunch of lying whores trying to get a man fired/ get higher up the ladder” is total baloney and needs to stop being our reaction when these things come up.
Another damning speculation against Chris is his Facebook is gone. His twitter is gone. Two platforms where he could’ve expressed his innocence are shot. This doesn’t mean he did it, but it looks very, very bad for him and any opportunity for me to (initially) believe he could be innocent is microscopic.
If these accusations are verified then he needs to be out of the animation industry. A good show is not the price for bad behavior.
Loud House fans. We have nothing to be shameful for. This isn’t our fault. It’s Chris’s.
