Although Nancy is by nature an independent girl, there's a real spirit of togetherness between these two, even hitting the gym together.

Which is why Nancy decides to invite him to move in, and share the rent.

Well, that was fast work! Nancy is keen to get back to work as soon as possible, so if Andrew - their firstborn - is not to be an only child, there's no time to waste.

What a sweetie!

Well, except when he's grizzling.

Andrew's toddler stats:

What they're putting in kids' books these days seems to be a bit of a shocker though.

The army was very much a job of convenience, and soon after completing his basic training, Steve is fortunate to find himself an opening in his dream career instead.

Nancy is at home alone when Andrew's little brother Alasdair makes his appearance. He has his dad's striking grey eyes. (Yeah, I seem to be going with a bit of a Scottish theme with the baby names, and I have no idea why!)

Nancy hasn't had much time for socialising lately, so she's very glad to catch up with her old friend Margaret.

Although perhaps the tiredness that comes from caring for two under-twos is making her especially irritable at the moment.

Alasdair is bit of a poppet too.

Reg is due to get his commendation, but rumour at the station is that he bottled it on a call-out.

It’s interesting how they’ve been writing Dave as being completely susceptible to Eddie’s manipulation. The other long-timers are happy to complain about Reg, but ultimately believe he’d be there if they needed him, but Dave’s willing to believe Eddie over what he knows himself from working with Reg for years. It’s as if he’s trying to replace Steve, not realising that Eddie’s his opposite: charming on the outside and rotten on the inside, instead of Steve’s spiky, tactless exterior hiding a kind heart underneath.

Some probable retirements remain outside such a probability thanks to the fact that this type of an announcement would've thrown their musicians into a void of financial loss. Look, the Hollies still tour – lucratively, I assume – and there was a time, when they did release some records to complement their concert, though the last happened a while ago. However, Then, Now, Always does sound like a disc one makes to bid a farewell. There's only one member left from the original group and the chance of one final platter from the surviving of that line-up is impossible, because many have died since then. The Hollies now are basically a simulacrum of their memories of the 60's with the modern production techniques, but they are close to their end.

Rockstar Eddie getting absolutely blazed after a show with the local crew. He's been really well behaved since his last dumb shit incident so no one's really watching him. A mistake.

He just walks out of the venue, somehow missing fans and crew and finds his way to a diner. The band and crew only know about it because pictures are already surfacing on Twitter (OMG modern day au oops). Pictures of eddie hunched over a plate shoveling food into his mouth like a raccoon.

The memes are already live.

They send someone to go get him but he's not there, cue a city wide man hunt (low stakes), where thier tour manager (is that a thing?) Hooper is losing his shit because he hasn't been this hard to find in a WHILE.

The next morning Eddie wakes up in Steve's apartment, covered in a blanket but otherwise naked, and groans to himself, saying out loud "God who the fuck did I hook up with in this hick town?"

Cue Steve from the bathroom shouting "no one! You just didn't wanna wear pants anymore, you said they were like prisons for your legs."

Steve has no clue who he is, but thinks he's real cute when he's high. It's his diner and he couldn't leave some adorable guy to wander the city on his own. So he took him home to babysit him (of course).
